Kf6 cwo mobile, Kf6cwl, kk6vzd. Good morning. Good morning. Kk6vzd. This is kf6cwo gary in oroville. Good morning. This is chris in yuba city. On my way to work. What are you up to? I'm on my way to get breakfast. I'm retired now, and so no rush to go anywhere anymore. I will be joining you in march. Oh, okay. What do you do? Currently? I work.

For the IT Department of Yuba County. Okay. Your county worker. Well, that's good. You've got a nice retirement. Well, it's nothing extravagant, but, you know. Yeah. I got to looking at it, oh, last year, which is really kind of stupidly the first time I've really looked at it. And it's. It's more than I thought. So, you know, it. It's, it's. It'll keep me comfortable, I think. Yeah. I had to put away money on my own. I have a nice 401k. I ran a power plant for 32 and a half years here in town. So. Yeah, I'm ready. Was on call the last.

10 years, 247 by myself. So I was glad when it was over. I retired in October of last year. Holy cow. 24 seven. Seven. Yeah. I imagine that would get a little bit old. Yeah. And it didn't start out that way for many years. It was, you know, we had ran through April through October, five days a week, 14 hours a day, and we had. There was three of us. And toward the end, cost and everything else and trying to make it to the end of the contract, I ended up being the only one left. It was stressing.

Oh, I'll bet. I carry the on call phone once every about once every six weeks and generally it doesn't bother me. But you know, getting towards the end of my career, I'd rather not like I've done this long enough, I don't want to do it anymore. I guess I could find somebody else in my department and just offer said, look, do you want to make a little extra money as you can have. You can have the call from me this weekend. I'll give it a try, see if somebody wants to make extra money. My brother in law was that way. He was an electrician for the city of Reno. But he took all the extra hours he could get because he wanted that money. But he just recently retired finally and now he's trying to sort out what he's going to do with himself. I've been slowly doing it. I've been playing right.

Radio a little more. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play radio a little bit more. But yes. I'm kind of sitting here wondering, well, gee, Chris, what are you gonna do? But I got a couple ideas and there's. There's a lot of stuff to do around the house. Although that'll probably drive me nuts after a while. Yeah. Well, I. My wife and I, she works for the school district and she's getting close to retirement, but we took a nice long six week road trip in June and July, went and visited family in, oh, Alabama, South Carolina, Indiana, Nebraska. So that was nice. We're planning a cruise in July, Alaskan cruise. So.

Yeah, we're getting out and doing some things. That's nice. Gary, I don't want to cut you short. I'm enjoying this conversation, but I'm responding to an on call call. I got to get inside and take care of this. So hope to hear from you again fairly soon. And I generally am on the road between 7:30 and 8 going to work. So if you're on the air, I'll probably hear you. But have a great day and we'll talk to you later. 73 KK6VZD. Clear. Okay, well, you have a good morning there. I'm where I need to be now. Anyway. It's a KK6VZD, KF6CWO.

K06dri.k06dvv hi, Todd. Just wondered if you were. Had your ears on. Wonder how things are going. Things are going good. How am I sounding? Good and clean. Good and strong. No, no hiss in the background or anything. Wonderful. I got everything hooked up. Got that J pole on, that tall pole across the. And everything worked out good. Sounds good. All right. Good to hear that it's working. All righty. I'll let you go then and get back to what I was doing. Back to what you were doing. And I'll catch you later. This is K06DVV during your final. Yeah, thanks again, K06DVV, for all your help and your generosity and KO6TRI out.
