Well, good evening, Chris. How Was your day? KN6GTM oh, it was okay, Ernie. It wasn't terribly busy and I got through it. Although the past couple hours, I gotta admit, I was kind of bored. Yeah, that's what happens when the afternoon gets long. I'll tell you what, things really livened up after the holiday here. Yesterday was really brutal back at the shop, and today was not a whole lot better. But we did get a few things done, so that was good. Everybody waiting until after the holiday to get their vehicles fixed. I thought they kept me pretty busy right up to the holiday. But then seemed like afterwards it was like, yeah, now we're thinking about every.

Everything else we should be doing. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, Well, I was just sitting here thinking to myself of the things that they had me doing now and that the. The fact that they are wasting my talents. I didn't copy all that. The last part of that transmission. What was that again? Oh, sitting there thinking, reflecting on the fact that for the past couple of years, they've actually been wasting my talent. They've kind of marginalized me at work, you know, giving me, you know, just really simple stuff to do. Okay, well, once you are retired.

Then are you going to go look for another job in that same field or are you just going to take it easy? No more, Ernie. No more. I'm not doing that anymore. I don't know what I'm going to do, to be quite honest, but I'm not going to do that. Okay. Well, I'll be curious what you wind up with, but yeah, maybe you'll have a lot of time to get involved in the ham radio business. I think what I'm going to get in end up doing is getting terribly involved in fixing my house up. Yeah. The worst thing about that is it might take more than one person to do some of that. I enjoy tinkering around at the house, too, but sometimes you need. Of course, when I get the boys.

I can corral into doing that, too. But sometimes it takes more than one person. Understand that. Understand that. I think actually, probably one of the first things they're gonna end up doing is going through my closets and getting. Pulling things out and donating them, throwing them away and giving them away. Well, that'll be something you can do by yourself. Yeah. My things. Anyway, I want to start on stuff, household things and stuff. I'd have to involve my wife, and there's probably not going to be an awful lot of agreement there. Well, if you empty out your part of the closet, maybe she'll have room to expand. Oh, yeah. Thanks. Yeah. Actually, we.

We have these discussions every once in a while, or at least one of us has discussions on how much radio stuff that I have. And, you know, I need to pare down. And I just think about all the boxes that arrive over, over time that have to do with her craft hobby, and then they just build up and build up and, you know, she doesn't think about that. Oh, yeah. That's the way things go. And just changing the subject a little bit here. Today was one of those days where the it just was beautiful because we haven't seen the sun for a solid day in quite a while. And today was just awesome. I couldn't believe how warm it got and how nice. It was a beautiful sunset here a few minutes ago. Yeah. That was something else, wasn't it? And yes,

Yeah. I walked out or came out to the truck for lunch today, and it's nice and sunny and warm. Yeah, it was a nice change. I was just talking to one of our neighborhood watch members today on the radio over early this afternoon. He was saying that somewhere in the 80s, I don't know if it was in the early or mid-80s, Butte county set a record 45 days of fog. Solid. 45 days solid of fog. It would've been like from mid November through December. And I. I thought, wow, that. I thought two weeks of it was a lot. I can't envision that. And I wouldn't be able to stand that. Yeah, that's. That's quite something. I know that in 2004, when.

Some of my good friends moved out here. They moved into Bangor here in 04 in February. And the whole month of February, I think it was like 28 days of fog. They had that time and they were about. Yeah, that's like you said, like, wow, what did we get ourselves into? And it hasn't been that bad since. To look back on and be thankful for, eh? Exactly. Most certainly. Yes, sir. So when I start cleaning the closet out, I think I might have a couple of Kenwood GMRS radios that I'd be willing to give up. Are you still providing those to people that are. That are looking to, you know, join your group up there?

I do have. I do that. Yes. And I. But I have plenty of them on hand right now. I, I wound up getting me getting a hold of several Motorolas, both handheld and base units. So I I've got plenty of them on hand. Not a lot of takers in this last six months. So I I've got quite an inventory. Okay. All right. Thought I'd ask if you ever get to a point, though, where you're looking for something, you've got people that need something, and just ask. And if I have it, you can probably have them. Very good. I'll keep that in mind. Occasionally we'd need one, but like I said, I was able to latch on to several. I was also.

Talking to sidetracks. I do some work on their ambulance once in a while and he said, yeah, he'll have me put some radios in and I did put one in for him, but I haven't done a whole lot more. So I've got some on hand just for necessary uses, I guess. Okie dokie. Okey dokey. Well, I'm just pulling up to the driveway, so I've got, I've got choir practice tonight so I got something that I gotta go back out for, but hope you can go home and stay home and I wish you a great evening. We'll talk to you later. 73 KK6 of EZV clear 73 to you as well. Have a good evening. Yep, I'm just pulling into the parking spot here at home too, so we will chat with you later. Kk6vzd mobile w e6a x n repeater. Kk6vzd ko6vty how you doing, Krin? Oh, doing all right. Just headed out for choir practice. Right on. Yeah, today I got. I shouldn't say I got stuck, but I was the only one at the office in the afternoon, so I closed that up. But our printer went offline, so we had it come out. And it was a new guy I'd never seen before. So I was talking to him for a minute and he's like, is that a HAM radio on your car? I'm like, yeah. And he's like, oh. He's like, what's your call sign? And I told him. He's like, oh, here's mine. I was like, oh, yeah, that's cool. So he's fairly new over there in Marysville, so he hasn't got stuff all the way set up yet. Okay, fairly new, new ham.

From what I can tell, but he's got a. He's got a call sign with five digits instead of six, so I don't know. Yeah. Okay. Just out of curiosity, what is it? I'm gonna grab the paper right now. I had him write it down because my memory is garbage, so his call sign is. If I can get the paper out. November 7th. Victor Echo X ray. Name is Henry, and I can't read the last name. Looks like Gravy, but I highly doubt his last name is Gravy. I think I've talked to him. The Victor Echo X ray sounds familiar. Okay. Yeah, I told him about the nets and everything, so hopefully he can get on there a little bit and.

Throughout the day and whatever as well. Great. And. And he works for what, Caloosa County? IT yeah, he's one of the new hire IT guys for Colusa County. He had a name. He gave me his first and last name. Henry is his first name. And then I can't tell it. Maybe C, R, A, V, E, Y or C. I just. I'll just look on QRZ and I can find it there. But his first name is Henry. Okay, well, like I said, I think I've talked to him, but I don't think I know who he is. Right on. Right on. Yeah, I chose not to. I didn't go to my veterans meeting today.

Tonight, and I didn't go to the club party tonight, so I stayed home. I ordered a pizza and had it delivered to the house. I might go ahead. Well, I'm going out to. I missed. I missed the club Christmas party because I have choir practice tonight, and I need choir practice tonight more than I need food. I totally understand that I can't sing, but more power to the people that can and for those that put in the work to be able to do it. But. Yeah, not much else going on. It's a pretty nice day today. Sun came out for a good chunk of it, and it actually warmed up more than it had in a while. Yeah, I caught it at lunchtime at least, you know, come out to the vehicle to drive while we're.

To get something to eat and then come back to work. So I didn't get to enjoy it that much, but it was nice. Yeah. I went over to the local hospital, which is across the street, to the cafe. It's a decent thing for the price, and it's healthier than the fast food options that are there today. They had cheese enchiladas with rice and beef, beans and homemade salsa. That was actually really good. Yeah. You know, that's kind of why I've been eating rather regularly at the hospital cafeteria over here. Because it's not fast food. It's not expensive restaurant food. It's cheap. It's decent food. Food. It's not restaurant food, but it's decent food. And it's. It. Yeah, it's. And it's not fast food.

So got a lot going for it. I actually had some. They had some corn chowder with bacon soup. That's what I ended up with. That sounds pretty good. Yesterday. Yesterday I ended up getting my usual, which is just a. Just a turkey. Turkey. Blp. But yesterday, I wasn't filling the bacon because they usually crisp it up way too much. Much. And so I put on the slip. No bacon. Well, they took that as also no avocado. And I was like, that was the part I was looking forward to. I didn't realize until I'd already left there and went to the office. That's too bad. Yeah. How in the world does no bacon equate to no avocado? Well, yeah. A good while back, my co worker went over there with me and she ordered a blt. And they didn't put any.

Bacon on it. And she's like, what happened? And they're like, well, you didn't mark bacon. And she's like, what do you think a BLT is? It's not bread. Lettuce and tomato. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. All right, well, I've destinated, so I better grab my music and get inside and get ready to work. So have a great evening and we'll talk to you later. 73 KK6VZD clear 7:30. Chris, good luck with the corral core practice and maybe I'll come over and watch one of the shows. I'll be there so you won't know, so you don't get any states. Right. Anyway. 73K6BGY. I'll be clear as well.
