Kt 6. There you go. Listen. Wp6axm receiver. Ci6fep mobile. Hello? Well, how was your visit? Them kids, Were you out? Yeah, they were busy. They wore me out for sure. I'm just coming into Marysville now. Stay at Jeff's household the whole time. I got a motel room. Stayed there in the couple nights, in the evenings, time at. When you had. When you had the kids. Just watch them there. Yeah.

Went to the Christmas light show last night. It was fun. It was cold, but it was fun. Oh, yeah, those are always fun. I was just trying to get home and beat the fog. It's a high fog, but it releases up out of a off the road right now as Saw a weather report online here. Guess this fog's gonna be around for a while. No sun for a few more days. Okay, well, it was sunny there this afternoon and yesterday. I don't know what it's been like down in Roseville, but when I left Jeff's, it come down to the.

The ground, but that's because he's kind of near a body of water. So that probably has something to do with a little bit of a valley. And when I got up out of paradise, it was hit and miss. And then by the time I got to Highway 70, it's been just high, high in the sky. Yep, that's what we've had all day and all day yesterday. Oh, really? Okay. Well, I figured as long as I could get home before it came down to the ground, got two dents, I'd be okay. So far, so good. Last night was just enough to be annoying. I don't think I ever came down too far. At least not here. Just getting kind of old. I have no sun. Yeah, it does have an impact on a person.

Well, while we were in Chico yesterday, shopping around, we went to Hobby Lobby waiting to for Jeff's gal to meet us to go to a restaurant. And, you know, those. I don't know if you've seen them there. You don't go there that often. But they have traffic lights that I always thought about, like, getting one, and I just kind of never did. And they're yellow, though, not green. So I got one. It was only 40 bucks. I think it was on sale or something. So now I have my own traffic light. So, like, me, like one of those ones. I got one for your dad or whatever. Yeah. Before I bought it, I looked on YouTube to see what they look like, you know, and they're actually pretty decent. So I want to have.

Got it. It's a sequential on off like yours. Not as probably sophisticated but good enough for fun. What was the name of it? I don't look up the interrupt, just look up Hobby lobby traffic signal, I think. Oh, that's right. Okay, I saw those. I was there a couple days ago looking for. Hey, I saw those. Yeah, I just didn't know what the flash patterns was like, you know, I thought, well, if it just. If they blink on and off, I didn't really care. But it was kind of like I just was curious to see what it looked like before I bought it. If it was something I didn't like, then I wouldn't buy it. But it's basically just like does what yours does the way Mike set it up for you. It's just that the yellow signal is. No, there's no difference different. I mean it's not that sophisticated. Right. So you'll see.

Signal is not short. It's just as long as the other one. The other two. But it's fun. Oh, I see. Okay. I was actually surprised that they had it set up that. That. Well, I kind of thought they just, you know, blink on and off, you know, sporadically or something, but it actually has a pattern to it. Some guy on YouTube showing up. Yeah. You plug it in or is it run off batteries to Cecil? Okay.

I didn't do too much today. I just did my usual 7 mile walk and went up to Sheila's house for a little while after lunch. Brought her that little glass Christmas tree that I fixed up. Oh, cool. Well, we thought that Jeff's truck had a problem today because he forgot his long story, but let's just say he forgot his regular key and he knew he had a hide a key, so he used that to get into it and then it wouldn't start. Right. So we're making all these plans and thinking about what we're gonna do, and I said, well, you can borrow mine and I'll just drive the Mazda until we get this figured out. Seemed like it was a fuel line filter, right?

Yeah, because it would start. Start to start, or act like it wanted to start, but then it wouldn't kick over. So what? It acted like. So, you know, the two. Two male minds are sitting there, you know, trying to figure all this out. And Shannon, his gal, was like, well, you know, maybe it's the. Maybe it's the chip and the key. And I go, no, I don't think that key has a chip. It's too old for that. And even if it did, it's. What should you. You think the thing would still kick over? I don't think it's that. Anyway, we went on and on and on, and she finally went to YouTube and said no. She said that they say if you don't have the original key, then this. If you have an extra key or spare key, it's only to open the doors with. So we're like, well, we'll give it a try. So he went up there, sure enough, started. Well, if he had the key the whole time, but he just left them at home. That what you said.

He left it at his house. He had gone up. He'd gone to that holiday party yesterday with her, and they stayed at his place last night. And then they went up to her place to get his truck because he left it up there last night. So one of those trans vehicle kinds of situations. And he forgot w normal keys, so he didn't have them. So one of you had to go back to his house and get the key, huh? Yeah. And then when he did, the truck started. Yep. Brenda's Firebird. Well. And her current car does the same thing. It won't. Won't start with that key. Little Toyota out there. It starts with any key.

Well, the thing is, I didn't think that there was a sensor in that key. I just thought it was too small for. For that. Because it's not a very big plastic piece on the end of that key. Not like the newer vehicles have. So I just assumed it was just something to actually help hold the key, you know, as you went to start it or use it. I guess there actually is some kind of a sensor in it. And the Firebird, that sensor unit quit working. They had the key to it, but same thing. Car just wouldn't start. And Michael. Because we gave the car to Michael and Jackie. And Michael went to YouTube and said. You can bypass the whole security system. By opening up the left panel and unplugging one thing. And put two wires together, and voila. Of course, you no longer have a security system, but who cares? Okay.

Anyway. Well, we were feeling pretty dumb by the end of it. Our male egos were bruised, but at least he didn't have to worry about getting a mechanic and having it towed somewhere and all that. That was what we were fretting over. Ever get that dang thing smog? Remember? I thought he was down here. He was having trouble with it. I don't know. I didn't even ask. I don't ask anymore. That away. I think he did, but I don't. I didn't even pay attention to the plate to see if it had the current sticker on it or not. I know he got stopped once a few months ago. They didn't give him a ticket or anything because he had the pending registration. He just had to get a smog. So they let that go. But.

Yeah. I don't know.

Baxter Right there. Is he at the house? No, I have him with me. I wouldn't have been able to stay if I hadn't brought him. That's good. He travels good, right? Yeah. He's sitting in his little dog bed back in the backseat there. All comfy. I got a blanket on top of that. Makes it extra cushy. That's pretty funny. Emma was not a good traveling dog. She don't want nothing to do with the car, Abby. Different man. Just you say the word. Bye. Bye. That was it. She was outside. If that truck window was down, she'd jump into it all by herself. Jump through the window?

He's not a big travel fan. I don't take him out a whole lot, but once he's in the car, he settles down. But in the beginning, sometimes he can kind of be in a dither about it until he figures out he's not going to get out of it. He might as well just settle down. But if he had his way, he would just stay home. Funny how some dogs don't like to ride and others do. Yep. I think it's all about when they're puppies, they like it or not. All right, it's after 1700. I'm gonna go try and find something to eat around here. Okey doke. Well, I'm coming into Wheatland in the next four or five minutes, so I still got a little ways. If you get back on KI 6ft. Casey section.

Wp6axm receiver. This is w7x ray zulu calling the oroville amateur radio society Sunday night net. This net meets Sunday evenings at 8pm local time. Good evening to all. This is jim, your net control for the evening. And let's see who is out there. Stations wishing to check into the net, please call now. W7x rays, k6hfp6 bravo gulf, yankee, kilo, bravo 9 mike yankee foxtrot, Kf6ewo.

It. This is w7x ray zulu and I have five check ins and I think I managed to keep my fingers on the home row of the keyboard. Anyway, in order of appearance, k6hfp. Good evening again, john ko6bgy. Good evening, paul. Kb9mf. My father.

Jeff. Good evening to you, kf6ewo. Good evening again, gary. And kd7uhf. Good evening again, ron. And the agains from the zoom session. Check ins. Do we have any additional check ins to the nas? This is w7x ray zulu. Nothing heard. We'll jump to the roundtable mode here and k6hfp. John, you're leading off. You'll be passing it to ko6p, bgy. Paul, you'll be passing it to kilo, bravo 9 mike, yankee foxtrot.

And Jeff, from you, it'll go to Kilo, Foxtrot 6, Echo, Whiskey, Oscar, and Gary, you'll be passing it to Ron, KD7UHF. So, John, it's your nickel. K6HFP and the net, W7XZ, W7X RAY, Zulu and the net. This is K6HFP, John up in Oreville. Thanks, Jim. Man, I hope everybody's staying warm where I'm at. It's been foggy. We've had a couple days in the last two weeks that was clear, but pretty much two weeks of some pretty, pretty decent fog that sticks around all day. So it's pretty crazy. Hopefully it clears up, though, in the next couple days to get a chance to possibly see some of the.

Auroras that might be coming through. We'll see. But I guess in the next 48 hours supposed to be a chance to get some more auroras down our way, so that'll be cool if it does. But other than that, this week was busy for me, getting ready for Christmas, getting all the nieces and nephew stuffs ordered and in the mail, stuff like that. So getting ready for that and almost done, but a little bit left as I'm sure everybody is not ready yet. But we're not there yet, so still a couple more weeks. Anyways, hope everybody's doing good. Good to see everybody that showed up on Zoom tonight and hope everybody has a good week coming up here. So with that, I'll pass it over to Paul K06B.gy and the net K6HFP.

K6HSP and the net KO6BTY. Nothing else going on here. Getting ready for the upcoming work week. Just watching some Hogan's Heroes on tv. Never gets old. I'm gonna go ahead and try to go outside in a few minutes, John there, and see if I can get something with my iPhone. See if I can get some kind of read back on the Northern Lights kind of thing. I got some earlier this year in, like, February or March, so I might be able to get it again. But anyway, as far as radio goes, I've got a couple new hts. I'm talking on one now with. It's a UV5R mini with an Aguia 771 where they pack those things in tight. You open the box and bam. Goes an antenna. Kind of like one of those little snake coil tube things where you open the lid. The of.

The Pringles can outdoor a bunch of fanfare. But anyway, other than that, I'll go ahead and pass it on to Jeff. Kilo Oscar Six Bravo Golf Yankee. I'll be monitoring in the background. 73. Happy holiday to all. If I don't get it from you by then. Yeah, I have a a few projects going. Hey, Jeff, I think you dropped off there, Jeff. Go ahead and give it a go again. Your nickel. The.

Control, KO6BGY. Yeah, I noticed that Jeff was a little intermittent. Probably standing in bad spot there. KB9 MYF. Jeff, you were breaking up going into the repeater.

Kb9myf.w7xz. Jeff, are you there? You might have had some technical difficulties there. Well, let's see. KF6EWO. Go ahead, Gary. W7XZ Manette. W7XZ Manette. This is KF6CWO Gary in Oroville. Busy week with appointments this last week, but I have pulled out some older radios that I've acquired and have been doing a little tinkering with them. Spent the weekend getting my mom's Christmas stuff out. Doing a lot of honeydew anymore. My dad's gone, so it's Sunnydew, I guess.

I don't know. But anyway, we were helping her. Pretty foggy over there in Auburn, and. But in the daytime the fog goes away and it's nice and sunny there. So now I'm back in Oroville. Not much else going on here, so I'll just pass it over to Ron, KD7UHF and the net. This is KF6CWO. Well, thanks, Gary. This is Ron, K87UHF here in Oroville, and not much going on around here. Can watch TV all day. Other than that, I'm just looking at some bills I got to pay and I'm going, oh no.

But next week. So with that I'll pass it back to jim w7xz, kd7uhf, Kd7uhf and the mat w7xz. Okay ron and per gary kf6ewo. Yeah, I can definitely relate to those kind of honeydews. Back when my mother was alive and this time of the year, helping her put up a christmas tree and decorate accordingly and the like. Anyway, before I ramble, do we have any additional check ins to the NASA w7x rays? It was w e6 repeater.

Nothing hurt. Well, for the most part here I've been recuperating nicely from that bladder stone procedure I had back on 21st November and progress seems to be good and I seem to have been spared the worst case scenario that was portrayed before the procedure. Anyway, things seemed to be going fine there. Played a little bit over the weekend Friday night anyway in the annual ARRL 160 meter CW contest. Made only about 20 contacts, but kind of decided the eyelids were getting a little heavy and. And I figured enough was enough there and anyway.

The Club Oroville Amateur Radio Society will be meeting this coming Friday evening, and I'll be putting out an email to my mailing list on that. And anyway, with that, I'll run it back up the line. Does anyone have any additional comments for the net this W7X rays of the KO6BTY. Go ahead, Paul. Just throwing it out there. If you're looking for any ideas for stocking stuffers, the UV 5R mini is a pretty good option. Just picked a couple of those up as of yesterday, programmed them last night and been running with them ever since. About the size of a GMRS radio. But even the stock rubber duck that I'm using right now, with that it's making the machine with.

Fairly good report as far as signal goes. Anyway, we'll go ahead and pass it back over to Jim W7XZ K06BGY okay Paul, very good. I do have one here that essentially when I have occasion to go somewhere with a portable for 2 meters, it's come in pretty handy and the price is right. I understand they're not the greatest radio in the world as far as spectrum analyzer looking at them, but they do work. Comment? Go ahead, comment. Hey Jim, Paul over in Calusa. Yeah, I've heard that, but I've also seen more videos than not that show the human.

5R mini as being fairly clean and pushes over the 5 watts proclaimed amount upwards to a 5 and a half to 6 watts on some some channels, but so far so good. You got a handful of these and they're going to pass them out throughout the holiday season. We'll pass it back to you Jim Ko6BGY73A06BGY and the net W7X okay Paul, and thank you very much for the check in tonight. Does any other station have any additional comments for the Nets W7X Ray Zulu? Nothing heard for those who can I'm going to be.

Calling the 10 meter portion of the net on 28.450 MHz upper sideband. And anyway, I'll put out a last call for any late check, ins or any unfinished business before we close the 2 meter portion of the net W7X rays. You look. Kilo kilo 6 papa delta oscar bob in the mobile. Kilo Kilo Six Papa Delta Oscar. Good evening Bob, and thank you for your check in to the Oroville Amateur Radio stat. Sizing that. I wonder how things been going on your end there. We did a round.

Table session here and wonder if you have any thing to report there or any comments. KK6 PDO Hand the net W7X rays oh, good evening. I'm just on my way back from Santa Clarita. Went down to go see a concert that my daughter was performing in. We're going to Sacramento now as we speak, on our way home. Amateur radio wise. Not a whole lot to report, although I will say I want to give a shout out to the Amateur Radio Club up in Montana there in Flathead Lake. I had contacted them for a very dear friend of mine who's been sick for years, and she needed some help and I can't get there quick enough to take care of what she needed to take care of. And contacted them up there, and they had a work crew up there two days later. So that was fantastic.

Kk6 BDO and the net W7X Ray Zulu. Okay Bob, and thank you for thank you for sharing that experience with us here. Happy to have you in here tonight. We're we customarily get together here at 20 o', clock 8pm local time Sunday evenings and toss it around for, well, anywhere from 20 minutes to maybe half an hour and then we give 10 meters a try. Those who can. Anyway, happy to have you join us anytime you're able to. My QTH is up in the lower Singletown area, up by Reading.

But I do have. I can get into this particular repeater there on Sutter Buttes from the house and it works quite well. I've been into it quite a few times. I'll have to put it on my notes to come in and check in on Sundays. With that, we'll send it back to NetControl KK6BDO. Okay, Bob. And thank you very much for the check in tonight. Do we have any additional check ins? This W7X rays. You look. Nothing hurt. Kind of a quiet night tonight here. Well put out one more last call for any late check INS or any unfinished business before we close this.

2 meter portion of the net. This W7X rays are the. Nothing hurts. Sounds like maybe we got her done here. Thanks to those who checked in tonight, the stat will convene again this coming Sunday evening at 8pm local time. And thanks to Dave WD6AXM for the use of his fine machine on South Butte. This is W7X Ray Zulu signing the Oroville Amateur Radio Society Sunday night Net clear and going QSY to 28.450 MHz upper sideband. Good evening to all.
