Kk6vzd mobile, wp6axm repeater.

Speaker A: Well, how are you this evening, Chris? Glad it's Friday and heading home, I guess, huh? KN6GTM
Speaker B: oh, yes, Ernie. Yeah, it's nice that it's a weekend. Yeah. And it's nice that it's sunny, too.
Speaker A: Yeah, it's been a fantastic week.
Speaker C: Really hard to believe it's been that nice.
Speaker A: I seen several trees up here in full bloom and I just like, wow, that's. I didn't realize it was quite that time of the year yet.
Speaker B: Yeah. And I was just thinking the other day, you know, I told you I spent last Saturday cleaning my gutters, but, you know, this year I didn't have one of those events where it rained so hard that it actually overflowed float the gutters because I hadn't cleaned them yet. And I was just sitting there thinking of that today that, you know, it's. It seems like we've gotten past whatever wet season we were going to have.
Speaker A: Yeah, we've got a couple months yet that we could get some rain. So who knows, who knows what it's
Speaker C: going to do yet.
Speaker A: I've seen some pretty heavy stuff in the spring, but I've seen it, you know, not do a whole lot more than it has.
Speaker B: Yes, yes, yes. So I came out this morning, I got into the truck, I got on the road, I got in here and there was nobody out there. And you know, Ernie, somehow we're going to have to get some more people out here on here.
Speaker A: Yeah, I don't know, I. I thought you tried hard.
Speaker B: You.
Speaker A: When the new people got a license, you put them on the club and. But we don't hear a lot of the new people.
Speaker B: Yeah. No, I don't know. Are they? Yeah, that's a mystery.
Speaker A: And even some of the old people just lurk around. I hope they're listening.
Speaker B: Oh, I think David Wa1ner sits out there sometimes and listens. He's probably listening right now, aren't you, David? All the time. Some of us.
Speaker C: You guys are out here listening too.
Speaker D: Always with me.
Speaker B: Yeah.
Speaker D: Okay.
Speaker B: All right. Well, sometimes when you're listening and nobody's
Speaker D: talking back to me, talk to me.
Speaker A: I stepped on you there, Chris. I was saying there's a couple for you.
Speaker B: Yeah, I was saying, you know, if you're out there listening and you hear me out there and nobody's talking to me, then talk to me, darn it.
Speaker C: I just popped out through the garage to take the trash out. Thought I, you know, frequency, so I
Speaker D: ain't got much time.
Speaker C: But since I heard you guys. Yeah,
Speaker B: Is your radio in the garage?
Speaker C: Yes, my radio is in the garage. Where do you keep your radio?
Speaker B: My vehicle, this one, and on my desk in my, in my house, my bedroom. So of course I got to admit that that one's rarely on except for the net. So, you know, it wouldn't do anybody any good to be on the air while I'm at home because I don't listen most of the time. Unlike David, who always has his on.
Speaker C: Yeah, I wish I had that luxury. I, I keep one in the garage, I got one in my car. But.
Speaker A: Any,
Speaker B: Well, the last part of that, say the last, oh, I don't know, 20, 30 seconds, you got unreadable. So yeah, I'd like to put one out. I got enough radios, I should put one out in my garage too. How about you, Ernie? Do you have one in your garage?
Speaker A: Got one in my garage. Got one in the house. Got one in the vehicles. So yeah, I've got a few.
Speaker B: Oh, I was looking at these hit radio sites a couple of weeks ago and they must have this must be a lost leader or something. They have 771 antennas, HT antennas, the long ones for $2 apiece. So I bought a few. I bought quite a few actually figuring I could just bring them to the club meeting and either sell them cheap or give them away.
Speaker A: So which antennas were they?
Speaker B: Well, they're, they're branded for TID radio, but they're the 771 style, the Nagoya 771 style, the 17 inch long one.
Speaker A: What do they consider that? I don't know what they, I forget what they call those are, they're not. Are they quarter waves or something like that?
Speaker B: Well, I don't think they're square waves. They're higher gain than your 701s and your, your standard, you know, the ones that can come with your radio, they're higher gain. So. And you know they have, some of, they have programming cables for $2 a piece too.
Speaker A: And so which radios do these fit?
Speaker B: Fit anything with an SMA male connector on the radio.
Speaker A: Okay, you're, you're talking HT style?
Speaker B: Yes, that's correct.
Speaker A: Okay, I don't have as many HT's as. I've got more of them in the GMRS band than I do in 2 meter. I've got one that I got programmed up for this frequency along with that commercial 2 meter P25 frequency. So I've got a Motorola next TS 2500. It's a nice, nice heavy radio. Seems to work well,
Speaker B: Motorolas are always heavy. I'm not sure what they make them out of. Tungsten, I think.
Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, copy that.
Speaker B: I.
Speaker A: You could almost use them for a weapon if you. You needed to.
Speaker D: They.
Speaker A: Yeah, they definitely are heavy. But then on the other hand, we have some of these cheap radios that are so light, you wonder, like, wow, did they put. Even put any. Put much into them?
Speaker B: Yeah, you could. You could use one of those Motorola radios to break a window if you wanted to. And so, you know, and it wouldn't hurt it at all a bit.
Speaker A: Very good. Well, I'm pulling into my drive here, so I'll say 73 is good to hear you out there, Chris. This morning I heard you, but I was. I had just beat you to work. I. When you ID'd, I was just about to pull in, so I didn't say anything. So I, I heard you id, but I was. I was already getting ready.
Speaker B: Pull over.
Speaker D: Okay.
Speaker B: I know how that goes, too. All right, well, I'm almost in my driveway myself, so have a good evening yourself, and we'll talk to you later. And David, WA1 ner. You have a good evening.
Speaker D: 73JK6VZD.
Speaker C: Clear, sir.
Speaker D: And you guys have a great evening, too. WA1 nerd.
Speaker A: Okay, on 6GTN, I'll be clear.
Speaker D: Ernie,
Speaker B: go.
Speaker D: Well, I've left my oranges in my bag, and I went in there and I was eating after lunch today, I decided, well, I'm gonna have my regular orange. I eat one, one or two a day. And I just happen to look through the bag and I, I saw a couple gray spots, and I looked in there again, and I pulled them out. I. I've lost two oranges. WP6A X N repeater.
Speaker A: Well, I don't know what to tell you. I. I could try to squirm out of it and say, it's your environment.
Speaker D: Exactly.
Speaker A: Yeah.
Speaker D: I'm not keeping them. And so I told Shirley, I said, get on the. On the phone and ask the question about the best way to save oranges. Exactly. Like, it's like you said, refrigerate them and keep them in. Keep them in the refrigerator, and that'll keep them longer. And that makes good sense anyway. But I was trying to see if I. How long I could keep them in the kitchen counter away from any heat and just.
Speaker B: Just at room temperature.
Speaker D: And. And so far, it's done pretty good. And I've left them in the bag, but that's.
Speaker B: That's.
Speaker D: I'm gonna have to put.
Speaker B: I think.
Speaker D: I think I'VE got about eight. I've been eating them consistently. I've got about eight oranges left in the bag and I'm gonna put them in the refrigerator so I can hold them off. But I've only lost two and that's pretty good.
Speaker A: Okay. I thought it was gonna be a reflection on me. I picked those bags out for you there. And so I must not be a good judge.
Speaker B: Quality fruit.
Speaker D: Oh, you said those were going to have good shelf life and they have had good shelf life.
Speaker A: Whole lot better than those first ones that had all that fog and rain on them.
Speaker D: That's correct.
Speaker A: Yeah.
Speaker D: No, you're, you. Everything that's been doing been doing right. And it had other ideas of how
Speaker B: people try to save the oranges and such.
Speaker D: And the best way to keep them from spoiling is eat them up. Don't sit on them, eat them,
Speaker A: go for it. Get that right. All that vitamin C while you can.
Speaker D: You bet. I try to put down at least two a day and I've been doing pretty good at it. And so whenever I peel, my wife want peel any to eat them herself. So when I peel them I give her half one each time. So that way I get two.
Speaker A: Okay, very good. Well, 73 save you have a good evening. We will chat with you later.
Speaker D: Km6gtm and I'm loving these oranges. I'm eating the heck out of them. They're good. They're nice and sweet. Okay, Ernie, have a good evening. 73 WA 1 nerd.

Sorry about that. I was distracted. How is. How Reed now? A little bit better. Yeah, that repeater is in a better location, and it's very, very sensitive and powerful. So don't feel bad about not hearing my simplex. You're still pretty. You're still pretty noisy. Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm in my living room and, you know, that's the way it sounds on an hd. Okay, give me a minute. I'll go to the base station. I'll stand by. Can you again, Again me, please? There. I'll be standing by. Take your time. Okay. All right. Just give me a minute or two. K0X start is clear. K06hlp standing by.

Speaker B: for that delay. I was on the. I was on the cell phone for a second there. I wasn't. I wasn't paying attention.
Speaker A: You get your volume situation straightened out. You sound
Speaker B: wonderful. I mean, you sound like a cell phone.
Speaker A: This is the 085 repeater. According to my radio, you are. All right, Say something now, please.
Speaker B: Are you on the 2 meter call channel? Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong one.
Speaker C: Yeah, I was on the 2 meter call channel. Or no, I was on the 04. I was on the 085 repeater and I thought I was on the 2 meter call channel.
Speaker B: This is 085. Yeah, I. I'm not used to this new radio. I was just.
Speaker C: Yeah, I was not paying attention. They all act. They all operate very close to each other like a digital watch. Well, hit that Exit A B button on your microphone there after we sign off and let's see how we Sound on the 2 meter call channel real quick. If we both hit it at the same time, we'll probably connect.
Speaker B: Sorry, I
Speaker C: didn't catch most of that.
Speaker B: Can
Speaker C: you repeat that? Yeah, let's QSY to the two meter call channel and all you got to do is hit your exit A B button. You should just pop right up if you've got that on the upper part of your readout.
Speaker B: Copy. I'll. I'll move over to the 10 meter call
Speaker C: channel. Okay. Ko0x clear. Qsy to 2 meter call channel. Ko6 hlp. Clear.
