Speaker A: You sound good. How you been?
Speaker B: You know, still alive, breathing air and eating food. You know, like that. Dealing with life dramas and up and downs and, oh, the economy. I mean, blah, blah, blah, you know how it is. How are you doing?
Speaker A: Kind of say the same thing and
Speaker B: yeah, it's quite something this year, that's for sure. So what are you up to? You on your way to work? Home from work, out for lunch.
Speaker A: What we driving? Gonna go pick up a few supplements and some groceries and stuff like that.
Speaker B: When I go pick up Starbucks first
Speaker A: though, because I need a little bit of caffeine in my system. I don't do that very often anymore. But today I feel I need it.
Speaker B: I don't know why.
Speaker A: It's my day off today. I'm just getting a few errands done.
Speaker B: Sounds like a plan. Hey, I drink a pot of coffee every day. Trying to cut down, you know, I like the brood. You know, I like Pete, he's Zikaruda. But now it's Brazil. And I'll admit I should probably cut down,
Speaker A: cut down on caffeine a lot, especially within the past month. I used to have a monster energy drink almost every single day for like a decade. And I'll tell you, that's not good, good. So I've just stopped. I mean, that's a lot of money and just energy drink.
Speaker B: Oh yeah. But you know, my mind is strong, but my flesh is weak. I. I like coffee in the morning, you know, I mean just the whole sensual, you know, part of life. I mean, what else, what other perks are there? Can't have a Hershey's bar.
Speaker A: True. I mean, if it works for you. I'm not the biggest coffee drinker myself. I'll have one every once in a while. It usually takes a lot more caffeine actually get me fired up because I'm so, I guess, dependent on. On it and not really anymore. I'm getting away from that.
Speaker B: Well, you know, I watch my blood pressure, but it used to be drink a cup of coffee to wake up and get wired and, you know, go to work. Wow. Now I can drink a cup of coffee and fall asleep. So I don't know. I'm getting older. Hey, talk like this, I'm not kidding no more.
Speaker A: It typically takes about 200 milligrams of caffeine to actually wake me up. It leaves.
Speaker B: Do you drink sodas over?
Speaker A: Very rarely. Very Very rarely I'll drink fruit juice and water and energy drinks and not much else. Occasionally alcohol. I really curbed that down to almost zero. I mean, I'll buy like a six pack once in a very great while, but other than that, I'm mostly just drinking water or fruit juice nowadays, at least,
Speaker B: You know, back in the day, formative years I call it. I wouldn't touch a soda or fast food. McDonald's, no way. Jack in the box, forget it. You know. And I would always, you know, try to eat healthy. I was a vegetarian for a long time, vegan, by the way. You should know something about nutrition if you're going to be a vegetarian, really.
Speaker A: But
Speaker B: now show me a barbecued piece of meat and I start to growl.
Speaker A: I have a pretty balanced diet myself. It's more or less. I think I should probably start taking ashwagandha or something like that just to help drop my cortisol levels just from stress. This is long term period of time is chronic stress. It's not healthy. And that's actually what I'm going to be picking up today. I thought about it this morning. I looked at one of the bottles ashwagandha I had. It's like three years expired because I stopped taking it a long time ago. So I'm like, you know what? I'm gonna go buy a new Earth market and they have one here in New York City. I'm gonna go pick up the mash Wakanda, see what happens. That kind of mellows me out a bit and in a good way. And I think that's something that I need. It helps with like stress, anxiety and so on and so forth. It actually works too. It works on me. I just stop taking it.
Speaker B: Hey, if it works, you know, anything else really. But do you see a doctor on a regular basis to get blood tests and stuff?
Speaker A: Yeah. Okay.
Speaker B: And you're okay so far?
Speaker A: Yeah, I had a clean bill of health last time I did it. That last time I had my boat work done. I wish it was, was not long that, that long ago. It's just I. I mean I had to watch. That's a lot of stress that I've been under.
Speaker B: Wow. Well, I know the secret of life. Let me tell it to you. You know when people say getting old or getting older or. That really doesn't tell you what is going to happen. I mean physically a lot of times, you know, we have aches and pains, they get worse. You know, pretty soon we're talking to Jesus.
Speaker A: We're on borrowed time. Saying
Speaker B: I try to always keep that
Speaker A: in mind and just try to optimize the life that I have. You know, I feel that I need to do something without the stress. I want to improve the quality of life that I have because it's there to fix it and deal with it for the rest of my life.
Speaker B: Well, you know, I, I really resent when people tell you how to live. You know, do this, do that, you should, you shouldn't, blah blah blah. But you know, it's a really a mystery but why we're even here in the world. But learning how to live, you know, part of the, part of the program, learning how to keep on even keel, if you know what I mean.
Speaker A: It's all about just trying to understand ourselves through the waifong part process, understand our place in this world. That's something I'm always just constantly discovering and trying to fix issues and stuff like that. This just issue that I've been dealing with for a while and it's been a long couple of years really for me. I'm just tired. I'm worn out from it. It's just been such a drag, one thing after another. So I'm just doing what I can do at this point. I've been job searching a lot and that adds to stress. It's just because my income is just not where it needs to be at all. Not even close. I mean, at least picking up a second job, I'd be a little bit better off, but I could put like 50 applications in and talk to a whole bunch of employers and get literally nothing back. It's really rough in this particular area right now for jobs and it has been for quite a while. I was talking about it on the air the other day and yeah, it's been quite something. I. Out of the all the years that I have been job searching, I have never had this hard of a time even getting an interview. Normally I would get interviews pretty easily. I'm not getting anything right now. W E6A X N repeater
Speaker B: oh yeah. Hey, I remember those days in my life, you know, struggling with resumes and blah blah this and blah blah that. Terrible. But you know, I think in life we need some sort of a system. Now here's where I don't want to tell you how to live,
Speaker A: but some
Speaker B: sort of mechanism people use religion, you know, I mean, again, I'm not telling you. You know, I look to a higher power. I mean, there's something going on here in the universe, some sort of intelligent energy we call God.
Speaker A: But
Speaker B: you have to think things are going to work out, and they will. Two years from now, you're going to look back at this and laugh. I remember Iwa.
Speaker A: I do actually do that too. Like, there's some stuff that had happened to me a few years back that I just walked back now. I was like, well, I was. A warning wasn't fixed. What was I thinking? One of those just came to my mind as soon as I just thought about it. I'm like, oh, no, not that thought again. I don't want to talk about it over the air, but there's been a lot of things where I. Yeah, you're right. I mean, you're going to look back at it a couple of years later, I mean, hopefully, and just probably laugh at it. I mean, that's also one of the things, like, why am I stressing so hard? I guess because it's just the pressure in the moment that kind of gets to me, per se, and that's what's causing the stress is just I'm focused too much on, I guess you could call it almost anxiety in a way, because I'm just. I feel some degree of uncertainty.
Speaker B: Well, Buddhist monks believe in mind control using affirmation and, you know, mantras and stuff like that. But, you know, sometimes you just have to learn to relax, let things go. I started out with yoga, and back in the day there was this Maharishi, Mahesh, yogi. This was back in the hippie days. You know, don't worry, be happy. Love, Love is all you need.
Speaker A: Hey, yeah, that's what I'm really trying to do right now, especially today. I'm just like, kind of. Yeah, I'm going to get a few things done. So I'm just really trying to just relax today, not worry about anything, not really think about anything. Maybe pick up a few books and just read. I was thinking about going to the library a little bit later too, and just. Just sitting and relaxing. That's what I'm just trying to do is actually just focus on de stressing today. Not care about too much about finances and stuff like that. I mean, overall, I still have quite a bit of savings because I was smart when I did sales and I actually saved up quite a bit of that money. So I'm not. It's not like I'm in, like in the red financially, which is good. And it's okay because I'm still living with my parents because I had to move back home with them. So it's. I'm still paying them a Little bit for rent. But it could be a whole lot worse than it is actually is right now. For me. I have to count my blessings too. If same time. And that also is a little bit de stressing. I'm like, well, it could be worse. It'll always be worse.
Speaker B: Well, refer back to the old Buddhist monks. You know, they use mantra, you know, like a good one would be, I'm relaxed, I'm cool, I'm centered, I'm good. As soon as you start thinking about something that's negative or bad, just go, hey, no, I'm relaxed, I'm cool. I'm floating.
Speaker A: Yeah, I need to start really just kind of focusing on just controlling the breathing and just relaxing a bit. I mean. Yeah, you're right. I mean, that's, that's really what I need to start telling myself is and to just loosen up my shoulders a bit, I guess. I mean, loosen up a little bit. I guess it is a little bit too serious of a person too. I mean, I take stuff way too seriously. Me personally, with my own stuff, I'm very serious about. I, I have really high standards. I grew up with really, really high standards for myself and at the same time, also not high enough standards to other aspects of my life. I should really actually correct myself because, I mean, if I truly had 100% high standards for myself, I wouldn't have made certain mistakes over the few years of it to myself. But. Yeah, but you see where I'm going with it.
Speaker B: Oh, yeah. N6I. We all got a load, you know, baggage that we're carrying
Speaker A: now.
Speaker B: Me, I. I kind of. I wonder about our existence and think, whoa, this whole thing is a God frozen dream or something. I mean, you know, why are we here? What does it mean? What are we to learn? You know, I don't know. I just try to take it easy. Just sit around sometimes and do some relaxing entertainment, you know. Oh, man, there's somebody pulling up in my driveway. I'm gonna have to take a break.
Speaker A: It was nice talking with you. I'll probably talk to you a little bit later. I'll let you take care of that right now. I'm gonna go grab some sort of caffeine and then I'm gonna go into the store because the Starbucks is conveniently right next to where I need to go to. So I'm just gonna do both. I'll probably catch you on the air a little bit later. You take care now. Great chatting. 73Kn6WNR

Speaker B: You got to enjoy that retirement while you can. Some people like, oh no, I got to go back to work. I'm like, not me. When I get my chance to retire, I am fully retiring. I'll find something to do. But I'm not working.
Speaker A: Yeah, I've en, I've enjoyed my retirement. I've been at it a while, so I'm good at it.
