W e6a x n repeater.
Speaker A: N60nyko6bgy.
Speaker B: How's it going? Hey, I just seen my. The car that looked just like mine go by. I haven't seen one of those in a long time. Anyway, sounds like you're. Like you're a bit scratchy. You say you're coming down the Marysville road? I'm actually attempting to go down Marysville Road.
Speaker A: We got a two car head on collision on Marysville Road at Collins Lake. So they got the road shut down right now. Okay. Well, hopefully everyone's okay. Yeah, you're a bit scratchy, but I can still hear what you're saying. Other than that, you've been all right. I've been doing all right. Trying to hang in there. This new pen stock issue that they had up at Tony Powerhouse that working a lot of overhead right now. Yeah, that looks like quite the mess.
Speaker B: Sorry, I can't breathe. Allergies. Sounds like quite the mess they got up there. But anyway, I'll let you get back to driving. I'll be monitoring for a while. I'm just outside getting some fresh air. But anyway, safe travel. 73k06bgy. I'll be monitoring in the background. Thank you, sir. Yeah, I'm gonna have the radio on once I get up to the top side. I'm gonna give a call. I'll see if we can reach. I'll take double three to three for now.
W e6a x n repeater.
Speaker A: Kk6vzd mobile w e6a x n repeater. Hey, man, you're a bit scratchy. Where are you?
Speaker B: I am Marysville Road, approximately 1/8 of a mile from Collins Lake, at a standstill for a car accident.
Speaker A: All right, well, that gives you a reason to be a bit scratchy. So you heading home or what?
Speaker B: I'm actually headed up the water.
Speaker A: Oh, how far?
Speaker B: Going up in the dahbound.
Speaker A: Going up in the Dobbins. You going to check out the penstock failure?
Speaker B: What? That's actually my post piece. I regulate the access to the property for the pen stock.
Speaker A: Yeah, well, that makes sense. Yeah, I saw that they had Lake Francis Road closed. They don't have it close to Lake Francis Resort itself, right?
Speaker B: No, you can still get to the resort that closed just after the. So if you take a left off Lake Francis Road to head up towards the fence, stop right after that turn, then they get a hotel.
Speaker A: That's actually where it starts going downhill towards the power plant, Right? Yeah. My son had an internship one year at the power plant. He said it was quite a drive. Yeah, it's.
Speaker B: I mean, getting up just where the pestock is is just one second drive. So I can only imagine going back down and going down there.
Speaker A: Yeah, I kind of wish I'd been able to go with him one day. I still haven't been down. I've been to Lake Francis. I haven't been any further than that. I had this one pastor of a church that I was attending who was, I guess, a keen trout fisherman, and he was telling me how you'd go down to the powerhouse and there was a couple of spots down there that were really good for troutstation.
Speaker B: Oh, yeah, I could see that. Yeah, because they. They're coming right out of Bullard's Bar and that's full of water. So there's a couple holes in there where you could yank them up there all the lawn.
Speaker A: So I don't know where I saw it, but this weekend there's a Sutter tractor fell, I guess. And I know Bud's going to be in it, so I'm going to try and make it.
Speaker B: Yeah, that'd be awesome. I wish I'd be able to attend, but tomorrow's my own day off. And then Saturday, Sunday, I'm going to be us back out in the Bay Area working out there. Oh, boy.
Speaker A: Yeah, Maybe Bud will give me a ride on his tractor. What do you think?
Speaker B: There you go. Yeah. I wonder if he's going to be throwing the trailer behind it. Again, Yeah.
Speaker A: I don't know, maybe he could get out an extra tractor and I could drive that.
Speaker B: Now that would be awesome.
Speaker A: So what have you been up to? I've got 30 working days. 30? Count them.
Speaker B: 30. Yeah, you're getting down there. It's getting close. I'm just not working all this week. I haven't had a day below like 14 hour shift. So yesterday that 18
Speaker A: today. Yeah. Well, you know, the county got Monday off for President's Day and then I had to burn two days of vacation so that accumulated so I could accumulate two more days of vacation. So I had Friday, or I had Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday off. So I come back to work, work today and tomorrow's Friday.
Speaker B: Isn't that neat? Well placed.
Speaker A: And then in March I got two more days to burn so that I can accumulate two more days and stay maxed out on my vacation. And seeing as how my, my last day is the 31st and that's a Tuesday, I might just have to take Monday Tuesday off.
Speaker B: There you go. Starting the retirement a couple days early.
Speaker A: Oh, yes, Let me tell you, this is Tuesday. Wednesday was not exactly what it was to be on my retirement, but it gave me a taste of not having to go into work and that certainly felt nice. Felt nice.
Speaker B: It probably felt a little awkward at first. These guys here, at first they're like, I don't know what they're doing.
Speaker A: I just have to steel myself for being around my wife a lot longer. A lot more than I ever have been used to.
Speaker B: Yeah, let me know how that works out. But I know on my days off I still try to keep.
Speaker A: Well and actually. But consequently she gets to spend more time with me and I'm not sure she'll be able to stand that.
Speaker B: That's actually the right frame of mind right there. My wife would probably, you know, choke slam here, try to get rid of me one way or the other. If you had dealing 24 hours a day.
Speaker A: Oh, yes.
Speaker B: Wow.
Speaker A: Well, Neil, I have destinated and in about a half an hour I got to go right back out again. So hope you don't get too, too bored out there tonight and we'll Talk at you later. 73 KK6VZD.
Speaker B: Clear. Sounds good, Chris. You have yourself a good one by the sound of it. They are now opening up the roadway, so we're gonna start moving here in a minute. So L873 you have to do. And it will be online mobile.

November 6th here, out with Charlie, the Sacramento Valley section manager. Just a couple of announcements. First, the Lunacy Infest is scheduled for March 28th. And as always, they'll be at the historic Loomis train station. Sellers can set up as early as 6, and everyone else is invited to come visit between 7 and noon for more information about this AMPEP, which is a good one, it's a big one, it's a favorite one every year. If you want to find more information you can find it on our website, but you can also look at it on the Sierra Foothill Amateur Radio Club website, which, which is w6ek.org that's whiskey6echokiela.org all right, speaking of websites, also on our website, the section website is arrlsecvalley.org we have the new band plan that includes the changes for the 60 meter band. We retain four of those original channels, but the middle channel now sits within a range of frequencies that we can use. We remain secondary users of these frequencies and the new range has an ERP limit of just 9 watts. So we have to kind of keep our eye on that. 60 meters has its own propagation properties and they're similar to but a bit different than the 40 meter and the 80 meter bands. So you might want to tune in there and join the traffic and see what's new on the band.
Speaker B: All right.
Speaker C: You can stay up to date on all the information on our section website arrlsaxvalley.org all right, thank you very much Carol and everybody.
Speaker B: Have a good evening.

Speaker B: e6a x n receiver.
Speaker A: Wp 6axm receiver, W6P and H here,
Speaker B: you just. You're making the repeater, but not real strong. It's pretty choppy.
Speaker A: Any better?
Speaker B: Yeah, I think that was a little bit better.
Speaker A: Not,
Speaker B: you know, maybe not great, but I got. Got that whole transmission earlier. It was kind of dropping out halfway. Yeah, it's a little rough to copy, but. Yeah, you're welcome. And good luck with that. W6B
Speaker A: and H. Good morning,
Speaker C: Paul. How are you? KN6GTN
Speaker B: hey, Ernie. I'm doing well. Yeah. How are you doing?
Speaker C: Doing good. Just had to go rescue someone on the side of the road, so I'm headed back to the shop. I just heard you out there, so I thought I'd say hi.
Speaker B: Yeah, good to talk to you. What's the weather like up there? You're somewhere near your shop now.
Speaker C: Yeah, much better than yesterday. I don't know what you got down there yesterday, but this whole place was white yesterday for a couple hours.
Speaker B: Yeah. I was going to ask. I knew there had been some snow. I heard that it snowed down to Chico, so I figured you must have had some and. Sounds like it's all gone now though, huh?
Speaker C: Yeah, it's all gone. We didn't really have anything in Bangor worth talking about. It was more rain in Bangor, but here by the lake it snowed quite a bit, so more than I've seen in 15 years.
Speaker B: That would have been fun to see. It makes me wish I had been around to get some pictures or something. But I remember a few times down on the valley floor when I was young having some snow on the ground and that was just amazing. But yeah, we didn't. It was cold here yesterday, but. But not too big of. I don't remember too much about the details. So. We had some pretty good hail a couple nights ago though. It just poured and hail was bouncing for a few minutes.
Speaker C: Okay. Yeah, well, it's not unusual to get some sleet, little bit of hail like that once in a while every winter. But yeah, to have that much snow, that was a little different. We actually could throw some snowballs and stuff, so. Well, I'm back at the shop. I'll say 73s. You have a good day and we'll chat with you later. KM6GTN
Speaker B: yeah, 73 to you and have a good rest of the day. W6T and H.
