Wishing you all a good evening while returning the UBA Sutter Aries group to its standard level one state of preparedness and the WD6AXM repeater to normal amateur use. This net is now closed. The 26 BNH clear? Yeah, Go ahead, Buck.
Speaker B: Once again sir, thank you very much for taking the nat. Yeah, I've. Dude, I've been working so much I was actually not supposed to work today by not a work sick yesterday. They ended up putting me up in Dobbins most of the day today and as I was on my way home to go, you know, do the net and everything, they called me out to work a special event out here at the fairgrounds.
Speaker A: So.

Speaker A: I was like, well, I guess I'm not going home,
Speaker B: man.
Speaker C: I guess you better pack some snacks when you head out in the morning, huh? Yeah. Boy, that is something. But yeah, I'm glad I could jump in. I was going to be home right here anyway, so. No problem.
Speaker A: Yes sir. Yes, sir. Yeah, I've got a box of Nutrigrain bars with me and those quick tuna snacks, which is the Ritz crackers with the tuna salad stuff. So I've got some, some nourishment or somewhat nourishment with me.
Speaker C: Oh, those are pretty good snacks. I, I picked up some of those at Sam's club and yeah, I put one in the truck just. Just in case.
Speaker A: That much but. But no. So I really appreciate you taking the net so save because I've been running rampant and then I got sick. I guess there's, you know, some sort of bug going around and it's like. Yeah, it's been nuts. I've been doing a lot of posts up there in Dobbins up at the Colgate Pen stop.
Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, that sounds like it's keeping a lot of people busy and there might have been a double out there. Any, anyone else? W16H K06BGY I was just going to comment. Maybe, maybe you guys can keep some MREs in the car. I usually do that as well, but I seem to have depleted that resource at the moment. I kind of got hungry the other day. Oh yeah, always a good idea. I've had some pretty good meals in brown plastic bags.
Speaker A: Yeah, I actually had about two of them in my truck last week and I went through those already, so I got to buy another case.
Speaker C: All right, you guys, well, good talking to you. I'm going to finish up this, the documentation here and get busy on maybe a little HF or something. But have a good night. LC73 for now. W6P and H and you got beautiful skies outside right now and you can see all the stars. So I'm going to stay out here and take a look at that K06BGY. I'll be clear 73.
Speaker A: There you go. Yeah, enjoy the star washing while you can. It's too bright for me here where I'm at, so have fun with that. And yeah, have some fun out there on HF as well, Paul. So I'll catch up with you guys later on. And six PNY, I will be monitoring for the next four hours and 600 miles.
Speaker B: Hey neil, where do you get the mres?
Speaker A: I usually order them all from Amazon. You could Order the cases. You could order a full case for just shy of 200 bucks per case.
Speaker B: Awesome. Thank you. My wife was like, ask him where he got some. I'd like some. And I was like, he probably gets them off the Amazon.
Speaker A: Yes, sir. Yeah, they're about, you know, just shy 200 bucks for a case. And you can get case A and case B. So they got both cases that. That it supplies to the military. So, yep, Amazon's where to go.
Speaker B: Okay, thank you. I don't know if I could spend that much money all at once. I mean, I'd be thinking how many bullets I could buy.
Speaker A: Yeah, that's a toss up right there. Buy MREs or buy some ammo. Let's see here.
Speaker B: Which fairgrounds are you at?
Speaker A: I'm over here at Yuba Sutter Fairgrounds on Franklin.
Speaker B: Is that the boat show?
Speaker A: No, we actually got a. An Indian wedding tonight.
Speaker B: Oh, okay.
Speaker A: Yes, sir. Because I've been sick. I got three guards inside working the actual event, and I'm out patrolling the parking lot making sure nobody's breaking into cars.
Speaker B: Ah, okay. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. So you don't infect anyone.
Speaker A: Exactly. So. But it's been relatively quiet so far, and I know I just said the cue word, so I just. Trying to jinx myself there.
Speaker B: All right, very good. I just wanted to say hi.
Speaker A: How. Much appreciated. Yeah, one of these days I gotta get with you and see what we can do about getting coaxes run. My reason when I mentioned dropping the headliners. The only reason why I mention that is because this thing has got side curtain airbags all over the place.
Speaker B: Yeah, we can work around them. The guys at the shop have showed me how to do it. You snake. You can snake the cable through with like a super long zip tie or like an old antenna. And you snake the antenna, the cable through where you want it, and then you can run it up behind the airbag so it doesn't get in the way. You don't have to pull the roof all the way down.
Speaker A: Oh, good deal. Yeah, I was kind of wondering about that because I also got a. I got my rear camera for my dash camera that I got to get mounted up. And then once I get the proper L brackets for my traffic divider for my back window, I gotta mount that. Well, as. As well W E6A X N receiver.
Speaker B: Oh, nice. Yeah, I gotta talk to. I'll talk to one of the managers and see what my price is on the couple of antenna and coax mounts because we got a whole Box of them upstairs. And I just got some more blinking lights installed on my pickup. So I'm super excited.
Speaker A: Oh, good deal. Yeah, I've.
Speaker B: So I've got.
Speaker A: I've already got. Well you already saw I got all the NMOS mounted and stuff. I just got to pull the coaxes and then terminate. I did find. I do have BNC and I've got a couple of the uh. Or no, I think I've got one mini uh. And I might actually have regular UHF connectors as well. I gotta find those.
Speaker B: Oh, okay. I thought you needed the whole, the whole schmear. It sounds like you're like halfway done already. That's awesome.
Speaker A: Yes sir. Yeah, all we gotta do is pull the cable, get them terminated and go from there.
Speaker B: Yeah, I was super annoyed. I was doing a putting up a base antenna and I ordered some crimp connectors off Amazon and they're only half crimp connectors. You have to solder the center pin still. And I'm like I'm on a ladder in my backyard. I don't want to be soldering this. I have the crimp tool from work. I just need the right connector,
Speaker A: right? Oh, that's what I gotta check. I gotta check to see if mine are center pin solder or not. I know. I think my BNC is for sure. But I'll have to check all my other connectors.
Speaker B: That's not a big deal. I can grab some. Those are only a couple bucks. So unfortunately this weekend I'm double booked already on couple of things so we'll figure it out.
Speaker A: Yes sir. Well, we got some time before bike around the beach so I'm not stressing it too much.
Speaker B: Yeah, that's why I wanted to get started on it now, start talking about it so we could hopefully have it done before then.
Speaker A: Yes sir. Yes sir. Yeah. Yeah. You know, if you get a weekend that looks like it's going to be pretty much free it up, let me know. That way I could make sure I get the time off because pretty much I've been working every day but Thursdays lately. Except for this week. I actually got tomorrow off but. But I usually work Saturday Sundays, but I can request time off if I need to.
Speaker B: Oh, okay. Well we could do after work one day too if it's. If it's easier for you. I get off at 3:30 normally. So with the sun setting later in the day is actually some usable time.
Speaker A: Awesome. Sounds good sir. Yeah, well, we'll have to get together and you know, on the phone or whatnot and figure out what would work best for us.
Speaker B: Okay, sounds good. I've got a short video of my new blinking lights. I'll send it to you. I also got my air horn working, so I'm super excited. I had a siren, but Erin made me remove the button. She said I was using it too much and was going to get myself in trouble.
Speaker A: I could see that happening, but. Yeah, I just can't wait until I'm trying to find a western push bumper for my truck. And I'm going to be putting a speaker box up there. That way I could do. Once I get the proper control panel, I could start running the air horn on it and a pa.
Speaker B: Very nice, Very nice. I can ask around and see if anybody's got one off a pull off. I don't think those are vehicle specific
Speaker A: new, sir. No, I've got a. I've got a wheel in centcom sapphire brain. So I just need the control panel. Let's go for that.
Speaker B: Oh, I think that's what I have. They're. They're not really used. We don't use them anymore. They're too old. So they said I could have it. There is input wires on that thing, I believe. So if you only want to run. I think there's. Or if you only want to run four or less functions with it, you can do it with just regular switches.
Speaker A: Oh, okay. I'm going have to poke your brain a little bit more on that, Don.
Speaker B: Yeah, that's what I'm doing. I just ran. Well, right now I'm only running one function, but I had one of the installers just reprogram it and with one of the input wires. And so I just ran it to a switch and I just hit the momentary switch and it does the air horn.
Speaker A: All right. On. Good deal. Yeah. Because all I'm going to do is, you know, pretty much all the. Because my lights are all speed tech lights that I'm running right now. You know, my overhead and my traffic divider, which eventually I'd like to get those swapped out with something better, but that's all I could afford for right now. And I'm running all those off from the SpeedTech light control board. So all I, you know, need is something pretty simple.
Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I was. Because if you just want like an air horn and a couple of siren sounds. Yeah, you could totally do that with. With just switches.
Speaker A: Good deal. Yeah, I'm gonna. I'm gonna poke your brain on that, so. Well, I'm getting pushed out on a break, so I will be back momentarily. N60NY copy that.
Speaker B: Catch you later. KJ6Iymona.

Speaker A: Well, good morning, Chris. Happy Friday.
Speaker B: KN6GTN and a happy Friday to you, Ernie. How you doing this morning?
Speaker A: Doing good so far. Beautiful day up here. It's a fantastic time of the year. Things are growing and looking. Everything looks, you know, nice and green and just beautiful time of the year.
Speaker B: Yeah, I love this time of year. Everything is green. I remember I got into a discussion with somebody from California a long time ago about, you know, sprinklers and things like that and watering the lawn. And they said, well, I'm not used to, you know, sprinklers. It's like, well, what did you do back in Illinois in the, in the, you know, it's like we didn't need sprinklers. We had. The sky was our sprinkler.
Speaker A: Yeah. It's a whole different world out here. Different culture. It's so different. And, you know, I grew up never realizing there was, you know, Mediterranean climates. When you live in the middle of the thick of it back in the Midwest, it just happens. It rains and stuff grows. In the winter, it gets cold and the leaves all come off the trees. I just thought it was so different when you here in the winter. You know, the summer it's dry and.
Speaker B: But you have. Trees are green.
Speaker A: But you go back to the Midwest in the wintertime and it looks like the whole thing like, you know, like the whole thing is dead.
Speaker B: Looks.
Speaker A: Looks pretty bad.
Speaker B: Yes, yes, yes. So speaking of which, you got any travels planned lately?
Speaker A: I don't have any. Just real. This, this summer we'll be going back to the Midwest, but nothing just right, right now my. Two of my, actually three of my children are over a long ways from home.
Speaker B: They're.
Speaker A: Travis is in Malaysia right now and Kimberly and Melody's in the Philippines. So they'll be bringing her home
Speaker B: here
Speaker A: in a couple weeks. So they took, Travis and Kimberly took
Speaker B: a three week trip.
Speaker A: They went to visit Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and the Philippines.
Speaker B: Wow, that is traveling a field. That is. So why Malaysia?
Speaker A: I have no idea what they. My youngest daughter's been teaching school over in the Philippines and the schools over here, here in a couple weeks.
Speaker B: So they're going to bring her home,
Speaker A: but they wanted to go see these places. And Kimberly, my oldest daughter, she's a real, she's a real organizer. She figures she's the one that kind of directed the trip on where all they're going to go and the rest of them are just going with her.
Speaker B: Okay, I can see that. You know, that would be an intriguing place to go visit. Yeah. There's a, There's a couple places like that that I wouldn't mind going. I don't think that that's ever going to happen, but. And actually if I went anywhere again it would probably be back to Europe.
Speaker A: Yeah, I wouldn't mind that either. Some point in time I haven't, like I said, I haven't made any plans to do it but. And actually I wouldn't mind at some point seeing Israel, but I mean right now the last couple years haven't really been the time to go do that but I have some customers who come from Israel. They offered to be my tour guide but I don't know, we're not there yet.
Speaker B: Yeah, no, I would not be making any plans right now. I think. I'm not sure whether I told you I was stationed in Egypt for a year when I was in the Air Force I was part of a. I was a military advisor, Ernie and while we were there, some of my, some of the guys I was with, they said we're going to go over to Israel. I said that's fine, you guys go. When they came back they told me that an hour after they had left Israel they got on the bus at some where, I don't know where, an hour later, that same square, some terrace, blew up a bus that same place.
Speaker A: Yeah, it's interesting, A little dicey actually over there now, so be a good place to let quiet down here while. If it ever quiets down. But anyhow. Well, Chris, I figured I'd say hi, I'm already destinated here. I'm going to see what the day holds here. 73, you have a good day, Good chat with you.
Speaker B: All right. I hope you have a reasonably serene day, quiet day, no emergencies or anything like that and have a great weekend. If I don't talk to you before then. 73 KK6BZV clear.
Speaker A: It's a Friday, Chris. Don't expect too much KN6GTN.
