Hi, ralph. W702f in phoenix. Good after morning. How are you? Good. What's going on in Vegas? Are you climbing mountains? No. We got a couple feet of Snow on Potassi, so 88 repeaters still on my bench. I was out of town a couple days this week, so just got done doing stuff at my mom's house. I'm run by Harbor Freight and pick up a Pelican case for that new VNA I bought and that's about it. What are you up to? You've got a new what did you say you got? Remember that little Nano VNA I bought a couple years ago? Both works really great for antenna, stuff like that. But it doesn't work with a dam sweep duplexers because the update.
Rates too slow. They have an update for it. I was talking to Bob TMP about that. He got. And I bought one of those. It goes from 10 meg to 6 point, some gig and vector, you know, vector analyzer, network analyzer, whatever. But it. The sweep rate's really, really good on it. So it's. It's perfect for sweeping duplexers. So I bought one of those. But it comes with a kit with connectors, termination things, and everything else. I want to get a pelican case from Harbor Freight to put it in, and that way I can put everything inside there and take it to the site and not have to worry about wrecking anything or have it still flying all over the place. Oh, yeah, I remember now. In the old days, tuning duplexers was a tedious task and very slow with signal generators. Wow, that's great.
But you haven't been changing frequencies, so you shouldn't have to mess with duplexes, have you? Well, you know, every now and again, if you got a problem. We had a problem with something. All right, we had 10 have a problem with the dam, one at 88 and five two to my frequency anymore. But, you know, inevitably I want to do something and I don't have my 1500 with me because it was so damn heavy. And that 1200 doesn't have a. That's why it'd be cool to just have this, like, part of my normal sight kit that I take with me in case I need it anyways, like, you know, like I said, they're easy to tune if you get the ifr, because the way they work. But, you know, would rather not have to lug that to the mountaintop, all those things. Oh, yeah, yeah. I understand that. That. Yeah, I kind of missed the veins going up there and messing around with stuff. It looks challenging.
And fun. I remember when we, you know, put the building up and they got the tower and all the antennas and stuff. Climbing towers. And I remember climbing towers without a seat belt. Without a. I mean, a safety belt. And when you're young, you know, you do things that are crazy. Yeah. Man. With. So, anyways, other than that, that's about it. I'm gonna. Next week, I'm gonna probably call and make hotel reservations for. For Yima. Get that done. Probably stay at the home. Two suites that we stayed at last time. It was a nice place. Breakfast and everything was included. Not too far from the fairground. Okay. I. I don't know if I'm gonna make it or not. Lot depends. I'm not into traveling, but I'll think about it.
It's fun getting see all the equipment and you know what's nice about that particular hand fest is they have sessions where they discuss things. Most of it is pretty basic, but still, you know, it's kind of interesting. Yeah. I'll have to keep it in mind, but February is a great time to be in Yuma. Yeah. Yeah. Lee hasn't told me 100% if he's going or not. He's gonna try to figure that out this weekend, but I'm gonna make the reservations next week. One way or the other, I'm definitely gonna go. Bob's going. Tnp. Bob's going. Yeah. I like the social. The social interaction part of the night too, but some of those sessions. Yeah, I remember a couple of sessions I went to last time that I was sitting there listening. I'm thinking, you don't. You don't. The crap you're talking about. The guy was totally wrong, but I. I just shut up. Shut up and walked out. Anyways, they're. They're fun.
And I think last year is when I got that I got that Uniden or whatever the heck yeah that high end standard with the DMR and 225 and all that stuff that's I got a nice show special on that from HRO so I like I'm anxious to get that new Ken with vstar radio and get rid of this piece of crap ICOM I got in my team but I'm not sure I'm not sure if that thing's gonna be released yet I know they had, they had a kind of they were talking about the hat at the Yamaha Fest last time so if that thing's out and they have one there I'll probably, I'll probably buy it that might be my purchase. Well that's interesting I still have a comment Hypera I don't really use the Hytera much it's very hard to use It's a great radio but it's not ham friendly where the ICOM is but yeah.
What what your new one's gonna do let me know maybe I'll. I'll change it because it's easy in my car to change those things. Yeah no this is a Dstar it's Kenwood's Tri Bander it's going to be two 220 and 440 Dstar and you know based how good good the audio quality is on the Kenward HD I have for D Star it's I mean far superior to icon and this icon 880 I have in the seat it's been a piece of crap from day one but anyways that'll be my I'm anxious to check that radio out it's probably going to be 3 to 5ft and and that somebody Tony. Tony Marson forgot the name of the company but they have a company that he represents as a sales rep for that they make a tri bad antenna now this two two 2440 so I will probably pick that up there too anyways if it's available.
Which I would hope by February it would be. That would probably be my my purchase and I'll just put this icon on ebay and sell it to somebody. Oh, okay. Well, let me know. Wait a minute. That radio only does dart or. That's just one of the functions. Does it do other functions also? I know it's a nano radio, you know, analog and it's got GPS and all the other happy crap in an APRS and stuff like that. But no, it's a pull up tri band analog dstar radio. Okay. Will it do All Star? Of course. All Stars analog. That's interesting. I'll have to think about that. It's 5100. It's pretty dated in the car, but the way the radios are mine.
It's very easy to change and have to think about that. Let me know how your. How that all comes out. Yeah. Yeah, we'll do something. All right, Matt, I'm here at Harbor Freight. I'm gonna go in and see if I can find this. This case. And I want to get a new. A new connector case, too, that I have for all the adapters and stuff that I usually take to the hill when I. The one I have, I dropped it and got a hold, so I gotta find a new one, so. All right. Well, anyways, have a good day out there, and I'll. I'll chat to you later. M7CND bake. Okay. Yeah, great. Very interesting, what you're doing and.
This is NZ6J mobile, Fairfield, looking for a radio check. Your audio is a little bit low there. N6 Kennedy here in Bouchard, Columbia. And. Hello, Ralph and everybody else listening. Oh, thank you. I was just trying to back away from the mic. Thanks. NZ6J on my way to Tahoe.
And 1700. In the man cave. Good morning. How are you. Doing? All right for an old man. There you go. I just started running some errands. Got picked up a couple of things from Harbor Freight. Now heading back to. Heading back home.
You guys get a lot of precipitation over the last week or so? Vegas. I was out of town, but Vegas got a bunch. Yeah, okay. Yeah, I got quite a bit here, I guess, in the valley and the mountains. Mountains got a lot. I was gonna try to get to one of the radio sites again this week. I get that repeater put back in, but there's a couple feet of snow up there, so hopefully I'm not locked out for the winter, but nothing I can do about it. There you go. For some reason. Say again?
Yeah, I'm not getting it all, Ken. We're getting a lot of packet loss. I'm not sure what. What link's causing the problem, but I'm not getting it getting that at all. So I'll talk to you later on 7 p.

K7g&d, n6k&e. Good afternoon. Good afternoon, Larry. I've been your supermom, and I fixed your weather condition reporting. I added the new script in there for it. You want to. You want to scroll through that, see if you like everything that's there? Because that is. That can be modified. If there's something there you don't want or you don't. You don't need, I can modify that right now.
Okay, let me look it over.
I forgot to tell you, if you're not seeing it, just update your page. We're talking about down there below the. All the command areas where down there we have a CPU cap. And then the next line is the weather. Yeah. What you should see there is weather conditions for Florence, Oregon, your zip code. And then temperature 52 Fahrenheit, clear. Humidity 72%. If you're not seeing that, just refresh your page. Yeah, I am seeing it. Yeah. Very complete weather. Yeah. Okay. If you like it the way it is, I will leave it the way it is.
That's great. That's great to appreciate that. Yeah. All right, well, thanks for taking care of that. Okay, I'm gonna go take care of mine, get my stuff updated. All right. There you go. And you're welcome. And I'll be listening in. Okay. Very good, Ken. All right. All right, well, have fun. Take care of yours. I will be listening out here as well. Trying to take care of something on the Star website. Trying to find my way through that. I think I just found it. I'll be out here.
N6kn from nr7c, las vegas. Nr7g. How are you doing? What's happening? Oh, nothing usual. Everything out running errands on the way home right now. So does NWS give you data for Columbia? I'm sorry, what? Did you ask about Columbia? I said, does nws provide the.
Data for Columbia down there? Yes, but I have to use Bogota airport. That's the closest one that I can. That I can draw from. Okay. How far? Tomorrow? I could probably give you kilometers, but I'll just say it's an hour and a half drive in good conditions. Does the weather service have monitoring stuff down there, or is it something cooperative? The Colombian government? Do we have our own stations down? How does that work? I'm just curious.
Well, it's not as abundant as the state has, so generally, yeah, you just grab the nearest weather from. Or grab the weather from the nearest airport. What? I'm looking for sensors. I don't know, even my radar. My Radar now app. Yeah, there's no. There's no data down here to even be able to use my Radar now app it, Okay?
Yeah, I was just thinking about it. I thought maybe we have our own weather stuff down there for military reasons or, I don't know, maybe commercial air, I guess that would make sense. Can't rely on other. Don't know, the accuracy of foreign government services and that kind of stuff. I suppose so. I guess it would be important. Oh, well, I just heard you talk to the other guy about the weather and supermodel and all that, so use their excuse to say, hey, so hope you're doing well down there. Yes, everything is beautiful down here. In fact, I just commented to the wife, here we are again. We don't have to deal with winter again. Right about this time of year, we'd be firing up that wood stove there in Fort Jones. And.
It never going out unless we left the house for a couple of days. So. Yeah. Let's see. Look at the temperature. 70. No, 81. 81 degrees here right now. Yeah. It's 63 here in Vegas. Snow up on the balance. We've had rain last few days off and on. So just cloudy day today. I think it's supposed to get sunny again tomorrow. Something like that. Anyway, just heard you wanted to say hey. So. Nothing else. So have a great day and take care. 73 from the United States and R7G mobile, Las Vegas. All right, John, good to hear you. Thanks for chiming in there and saying hello. I'll be listening. And fix. Can.

Did I do? What camp. You said you was running around last time I talked to you. Said you some errands in camp. Yeah, yeah. I got all my stuff done. I got another connector kit or a kit from Harbor Freight to put all my connectors and stuff in for my site site trip. The one I had was just that old man. I dropped it once, so I got a hole inside of it. So did that. Moved everything over to it. I went to the gym and Just heading home from the gym now. The box will have to get up there so you. You can fix it? Yeah. Let's get some kind of a warm streak with a lot of sun.
And maybe a little bit of rain up there, I think. Think it's going to be a while, but we'll see. Keep my fingers crossed. Oh, you'll get a. Everything safe. It's just a matter of getting to the mountaintop. That's. That's. That's the challenge. So, anyway, you still playing in the man cave or what? Always. Just someplace I need to go to get out of my wife's hair so I can sit them down, find something. Even if it's wrong, I find something. You know, if you mess up something in your man cave, you got nobody's gonna be yelling at you for it. Right? So that's. I do enough customer sales. I do. But I got a cousin that.
Damn. We're getting a lot of. I'm trying to figure out the mountaintop site talking to you. To the server or to the. Was something on the server side that, you know, Diagnostics. When I get to the house, Breaking up to you. Yeah. It's not you. It's. It's something. We're getting. We're getting packet loss. All right. Am I. Is my audio choppy to you at all, or is it. Is it good? No, you're glad and clear. You're really good.
Okay, so it's from the. From the rtcms to the. To the server. Interesting. I'll tell you, I'm about a block away from the house. When I get to the house, I can run up one of my notes, you know, that'll tell me if it's the microwave links that doesn't make any sense because you're coming on a totally different microwave link than all the other sites are, and it is totally independent from all the 5.6 gig links we have between our hilltops here. So maybe something flaky in the cloud. I don't know. Yeah, it's plenty cloudy up here today. Yeah, you're on. You're a totally different your connection to the server that we.
Have in the cloud in LA is completely independent from anything we have here between our mountaintops and all the 5.5 gig microwave links we got supposed between the hilltops, but I don't know. We'll see. It's always something. For sure. If you find out, it's KK7 DDR73. All right, Dan, thanks for the shout. Timing is good. Just pulling into my community here at 7pnd cliff.
Good afternoon. Monitoring.

My wife and I were downsizing. I have some paraphernalia that's related to ham radio, and I know there.
