Speaker B: Hey, ralph. Good morning. How's it going here in las vegas? K7g and.
Speaker A: Hey, good morning.
Speaker B: Good morning. It's going okay.
Speaker A: I'm just heading to California for a business trip.
Speaker B: Just got in the car.
Speaker A: Got some people I got to visit down on these bases down there. How are you doing? It's been a while.
Speaker B: Yeah, it's been a while. I'm not here listening a fair amount, but yeah, been a while since I said howdy to you every time I hear you. Come on. I'm something, you know, but I can't respond, so. All right. So whereabouts in California city going make your visit?
Speaker A: Yeah, it's Fort Irwin, which is just, just north of Barstow. One of my operations is down there. I got a new. Some of the employees and the customer and things like that, so I would make a day trip of it. Just, just leaving the office now and got my little. My little POC radio tied to all stars, but I figured I'd see how it works.
Speaker B: Okay, well, at least you don't have to get any craziness. What radar do you say? Hepatite. Also
Speaker A: it's a POC radio push to talk over cellular. Basically an Android device that runs. I got DV switch installed on it and thanks for like echo link and things like that, but I'm using DV switch right now and I've got a
Speaker B: little system 32 linked. Oh, okay, very good. Small and compact and all. So. That's great. That's great. Okay, well, it's good up here. Doing my usual thing every day and enjoying life and things are calm and quiet the way we like it with our routine.
Speaker A: Yeah. Are you getting a. Were you getting a lot of that atmospheric river stuff they were talking about like a week or two ago that really hammered California. Did that affect you at all?
Speaker B: No, we haven't got anything really bad yet, but no, they were getting hammered down there at that time. Not so much up here right now. We're just getting going on. According to forecast, about 10 days at least. There's no rain days in the 50s and lows in the 30s and 40s. So I tried still here. No, they really got Hamburg on. It was pretty good because I heard this. The drought is officially being declared over.
Speaker A: Yeah, we could certainly use some of that. It had all these dire predictions of us getting nailed and it really petered out for us. And yeah, it's pretty bad here. We've been in drought conditions for a long, long, long Time I moved to the other side of Vegas back in 2001 and we were in drought condition then, early starting one. So it's been a while, no end in sight for us here. So we were hoping for a little bit really didn't get a lot and even now the mountains don't hardly have any snow on them at all. It's been a very dry season and actually kind of warm.
Speaker B: Yes. So far this winter we have not even got below freezing, which we don't normally that much. We got mild so far. So is lake Meat still in really sorry shape?
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah it is. It's been pretty much going down, down, down. I think we may have had a little bit of an increase, a couple to be maybe last year. But it keeps going down. There's a little website to get to that shows you that. So they're all freaking out about that. But you know they're saying that, they're saying we're running out of water, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. But they keep building new homes. So I'm not sure what's going on. Of course the whole market is driven by money, right. Profit, that's what that's all about. But I'm not sure what the game plan is. Maybe desalinization plants.
Speaker B: Right. Yeah. That's too bad they don't do more of that. 270 GMD. I like to talk to some guys I know also in the Rockies or by Aspen area so far. It's a really light winter here. Got snow or precipitation. It's not good enough that this starts with MF River Thunder. Yeah.
Speaker A: And I'll be sure that's disheartening. Right. Because that's where we get our water from in Colorado, the Rockies.
Speaker B: So don't know.
Speaker A: But other than that.
Speaker B: Yeah, today's beautiful.
Speaker A: They're talking about warming up to the upper 60s I think later this week here. So we had a little bit of a cold snap. Relative cold snap for us, you know, upper 30s at night, 50s during the day. But they're predicting a little bit more warm. Matter of fact it was only a couple of weeks ago I was actually up able to see, get one to one of our higher mountain tops and do some work. The road was clear. It's got some snow up there now. But we get near the 70s again for more than a week or so, it's going to probably be all melted off.
Speaker B: Well there Alpha, we've both been living long enough to know that that can all change real quick. Can be really Wet. Yeah. It's just a shame that we can't pipe some of this one place when we get up here because so much runs off in the ocean.
Speaker A: Yeah. You know, you probably heard me say that in the past. I don't quite understand that either. You know, put some kind of a cross country pumping system system in place, use the current right of ways for the highways to do it so the environmentalist guys don't get all crazy and pump that water from the areas of the country that tend to flood and dump it in the top of the Colorado. Would seem to solve a lot of issues. But I don't know.
Speaker B: Look what they've done with oil and fuel lines. My late brother in law used to run the Conical Oil. Used to run the pumps station up in Rollins, Wyoming which is out in the middle of nowhere. But yeah, the pipeline explained to me how they would change different types of fuels in there and all that. Used to bring a pipeline and it went from there all the way to California and central Wyoming. They had pipelines all over the place. So I don't know but we should get access or two or this nice. Lives in California most of my life, you know. And I feel whenever I could think about how much water for anything that's out of the college. My water bill's always the same. Been here seven years. Water bill's all the same, electric bills all the same. Met all, you know, hydroelectric generated and all. So that is nice. But rain all the time.
Speaker A: Right. And I know in California had the flooding then we were talking about. They ended up dumping the water into the Pacific like I said just would make sense to do some kind of a pipeline but.
Speaker B: All right Larry.
Speaker A: Well, I'm getting in the middle of a real heavy traffic here on i15 trying to get out of town. So I'm going to put the mic down. Good to hear from you. Thanks for the shout out and I'll. I'll be on the radio most of the day going back and forth forth on the i15 here. So I'll, I'll talk to you later at 7. PND Las Vegas.
Speaker B: Good, good to talk to you. You take care today.

Speaker A: I am in Fort Irwin, California, just a little north of Barstow on business. Met with some folks here heading back to Las Vegas.
Speaker B: Oh, man, I think you're out in BFE. Good afternoon, WB6JKV. Handy scratching, hard at work in bananas. A. There you go. Yeah, I know.
Speaker A: I got. I got one of my operations out here, so I'm just visiting with some folks and heading out.
Speaker B: You got a little.
Speaker A: I got a little POC PTT over solar radio I use with a SIM card in it and connected to a DV switch to All Star. So that's how I'm getting into.
Speaker B: It. Sounds great, man. Sounds like you're at home.
Speaker A: Yeah, it works pretty well. Surprisingly well, actually. Tends to hold a pretty good connection to the network. I got T mobile, so they do really well on coverage. Got a little cheapo Bluetooth microphone for it and so I can do hands free and it works good. I use it in a pinch.
Speaker B: Yeah, audio sounds great, man.
Speaker A: Back in the day we called that hi Fi. Good, good. I've been playing with it a bit. I always have a problem with over deviation if I use a microphone that's built into the radio. Sounds really muffley. There's no highs and audio is kind of low. So I got this Bluetooth mic and I had people tell me it sounds much better. It's got a lot more gain on it. So anyways, how are things here? Neck of the woods
Speaker B: Busy, man. Getting ready to take off and go to lunch. Yeah, here's a business box. Trying to guide you around.
Speaker A: Yeah, I gotta shut this thing. Usually I have it set up to just give me alerts like if there's cops or something like that. But we gotta switch out the normal talker. It's irritating.
Speaker B: Yeah, that's funny. It can be annoying. All right, man, I'm gonna bounce. Just thought we'd say hello. I wasn't paying attention and I thought you said fort Orgs. It's like, holy crap, is that place still alive? That's where I went to Basic and AIT back in the 70s anyway. All right, Ralph73, man. Enjoy. Have a safe trip home. WP6KKV is out of here again.
Speaker A: Yeah, well, thanks for the shout. I got. According to the GPS, I got three hours. All right, take care. And 7T ending.
Speaker B: N7tnd ab4ld how's it going, ralph? Hey, Larry.
Speaker A: Going good, going good. How you been? How was your holiday?
Speaker B: It was very nice, thanks. And I hope you Had a great holiday. So you're traveling today, huh?
Speaker A: Yeah, it was quiet. You know, like I told you, my mom's the only family I have here, so holidays are always quiet. That's okay. Took a little bit of time off work, but on the other side of it now. So we're well into the new Year and spraying at high speed. A lot of things going on at work,
Speaker B: So. I didn't realize you had family in Northern California. Whereabouts.
Speaker A: No, no, I don't. I don't. My only family in the States is my mom. She lives in Vegas. Everybody else is back in Germany. No, I'm here on business. I got a. I got a group of folks that are part of my operation down here at Fort Irwin that support the Army. So I was. I was visiting with them for part of the day and I'm just heading back to Las Vegas now.
Speaker B: Oh, okay. Good deal. I'm glad it's not a holiday or it might be rush hour, but I don't know if that's going to make any difference. Well, 1p1 get over the pass and head into Victorville. It shouldn't be too bad. I don't know exactly where you are. Hey, is Gil still around there in Victorville?
Speaker A: Yeah, I'm just north of Barstow, so I'm not anywhere near Victorville. Yeah, Gil's still around. He's not on the radio much anymore. A lot of his system isn't even on the air. I haven't heard him on for quite a while. He used to. He used to connect to us All Star, but he doesn't do that either. So I think he's kind of pretty much. He's pretty much out of it as far as radio goes.
Speaker B: Okay. So, yeah, I haven't heard him in a long time, but wx, wxo, I mean, hxo, have they done have an All Star on their repeater on the day date?
Speaker A: No, we don't have All Star on 8. 8, we do. I do an RF link to a blowhard mountain above Cedar City. But there is no but I don't have it handy. But you can probably look it up. There's an All Star node that's part of the Snowbird system. So you can get into the system 8 connected to via All Star. Like I said, I don't have it handy driving right now. But you want to drop me an email or something? I can. I can tell you what the note number is.
Speaker B: Okay. You know, I don't. I just wanted to follow up. Anybody that I would know, besides yourself. I don't know how often you get on there, but you know, that's Marty. KK4M. I don't know if he's still active. And what's his name, the attorney? I can't remember his name. Smith. Smith's his last name, but I don't remember his call. Is he on the radio? Very much. He the one up?
Speaker A: Yeah, boy, smith up, yeah. W4Hmv. Billy Smith. No, I don't hardly hear Billy on at all. I haven't heard Marty in years. And you know, as far as 88 goes, I don't. The only time I talk or listen to eight is if somebody tells me there's a problem with it because I maintain it. So I've been. I've been on it quite a bit over the last couple weeks because I had to fix the PA and I've been. Had a problem with the link radio. So just making sure it's still working. But you know, there's guys like K7JL up in Cedar City. He's John Lloyd, he's one of the primaries. I know him fairly well. I don't know if you talk to him much at all. But there's a lot of activity on it. They run a net, I think once a week, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. I forgot when it is. Thing goes for like freaking three hours. But a lot of activity in a very expensive system. But like I said, drop me an email if you don't have my Gmail address. I'm on qrz, you can send me an email. So I'll look up the note number and send it to you if you're interested.
Speaker B: Okay, that'd be good. Yeah. I was just wondering if there was any All Stars there. And you know, Black Mountains, Red Mountains? Not any of those, but apparently not. There was a guy, W7. Mark down there, Henderson. They stalked him all the time. I haven't talked to him of the year, so I wonder what's going on with him.
Speaker A: Yeah. Call sign doesn't ring a bell area, I don't know. But as far as All Star goes, we got All Star alarm up top on our UHF network. All our repeaters are on All Star. I still have the 420 link radios up as a backup in case All Star goes down. Which happens every now and again.
Speaker B: Right.
Speaker A: Or the Internet goes down is a better term. We use 5 gig microwave link between the sites, but that's. And we got a server up. We got a server up in Vulture that we're connected to and that's how I'm connected. I tie to our server that's in the cloud and then that's how I'm connected to the network right now through the lvra.
Speaker B: Okay. Yeah. Maybe you can just send me all kinds of note numbers and stuff like that. Yeah. I looked up Marty. KK4M. He's not sign a key from QRZ. I've wondered about him for a long time. Of course. Jan. Oh, gosh. What was her PA? Her call? NK7R. No, that's not NK7N. I don't remember. She. She gave me several night tests and I spent the night at their house one time because I was going to go to the meeting and I think there was a test section. Test. I have a hard time talking today. I'm very tired. But yeah, she's. Silent key. Yeah. Billy Smith. That's who I was thinking of. And what about Joe Lambert? Is he still. I'll tell you what.
Speaker A: I'm going. I'm going through some canyons right now and I'm losing the system bad. Let me give me about 10 or 15 minutes to get out of these mountains and I'll try to call you back. I think. I think you asked about Joe Lambert. Yeah, Joe's still around. He's not. He's not radioactive, but him and Jody are still around. So I'll try to get back in a bit and so at the ending.
Speaker B: Alrighty. Ralph, I should be here.

Yeah, I think I'm out of the woods here. My end of the system. Okay, I'm sorry, what was that? I said I think I'm out of the. Out of the canyons in the woods here, so to speak. Okay. Yeah, you're doing a good job. Hey, is that big thermometer still up there in Baker? Do you know? Yeah, it sure is. Hey, I got that snowboard DMR All Star note for you. If you got a piece of paper, I can give it to you. I'd stand by a minute. I'm going to turn my recorder on.

Speaker A: Okay, Ralph, give me the node number and where it is. AB4LB.
Speaker B: Okay. It's 600790 and it's someplace in central Utah geographically, but it's the All Star node that will link you into the Snowbird system. That's the 8H tied into.
Speaker A: Okay, sounds good. I guess you carry, you gotta carry your paperwork no matter where you go, huh?
Speaker B: There's a, an application called Google Keep that is good for keeping notes and to do lists and crap like that. And I, I realized I had it on my phone so. So when I, I pulled over a little bit back there and looked it up real quick like you to see.
Speaker A: So that's.
Speaker B: I keep, I keep things like, you know, all star stuff and things like that in there. So I have it handy.
Speaker A: Yeah, that's a good idea. And you have a, an Android phone, right?
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I sure do.
Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, I'm a Apple user because it's so easy to operate. You know, their voiceover is so much better than the one that you have to buy for an Android. I just like it better. I had a program on a different phone call Talk and I had that on a. Oh gosh, I don't remember what the phone was, but I used it for Skype and stuff like that. The voiceover was horrible. But this was probably 15 years ago, maybe between 12 and 15. And so once I got my iPhone, it talks and you can pick voices and you have the pitch and you can have this and you can have that. Pretty much have the best of all the world for a Cypress person and even people that can't use their hands, you know, other things are hearing it's so much nicer and you know, the tour is still going to be around forever and ever and ever. Somebody, you know, some people like the Android, other people like the phone even tighter people like the iPhone. But I have a lot of friends that have the Android and how many miles you got to go to get home?
Speaker B: Yeah, my wife still uses iPhone and iPad. I use a Mac just got. I didn't, I didn't like iOS and everything is so converged anymore. They're very, very similar. But like, like on, like on Android I got a Motorola flip phone. The old Motorola RAZR style. It actually it's a really nice. I think Apple's talking on maybe doing that next year.
Speaker A: I don't know.
Speaker B: But anyways sounds like it's working great for you, which is the important part. Utility.
Speaker A: Let's see.
Speaker B: GPS says I got 155 miles to go in about two and a half hours. Should be. Should be at the office at 4:00'.
Speaker A: Clock. Okay. You get to the office and do some work and then head home. So trying to think, you probably, what, about six or seven miles from work to home, Is that about right?
Speaker B: No, it's further than that. You know, in the morning, I leave really early, fairly early in the morning, so traffic isn't too bad. Maybe takes me 20 minutes to get there. I never really paid attention to how many miles it is, but it's not too bad of a drive. I don't have to drive on the interstates unless I go to our corporate office. Our corporate office is by the airport. But the office I work at is near the Air Force base. So it's not too bad of a drive.
Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, I didn't realize it was over there. I thought it was on the Strip. That would be kind of crazy sometimes. Lyle, when he was alive, he worked there on this trip, didn't he? Or did he work in some corporate office someplace else?
Speaker B: No, Lyle. Lyle was the Chief Information Officer for Caesar's World. So he worked at Caesar's palace. Right, on the Strip. And then of course, he left there and went. Moved to Florida years ago and worked for the company. It's an Indian company that owns Hard Rock Casino and some other properties like that.
Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. Shame that he passed away. I really like Vile. And Nat, I asked you about him before, but I don't remember. He's still kicking around.
Speaker B: Yeah, Nat moved to Phoenix. Matter of fact, he.
Speaker A: He's.
Speaker B: You'll hear him on the system every now and again. He usually checks it on netnights, but we disconnect from you guys on netnights. But if you ever want to just listen in on our net to hear if there's anybody you recognize, just connect to our main server, our All Star node, which is 29150, our HXOR mode. And like I said, we take. We come off links to call or do in the Net for obvious reasons. But if you want to do a direct connect to us.
Speaker A: I don't.
Speaker B: I don't have a blacklist, so we.
Speaker A: I don't have.
Speaker B: I don't have any. Anybody that I block. So you're welcome to connect to that. And It's Wednesdays at 7pm Pacific Time. Oh yeah. Nat found. He's in Phoenix. He has a. Has an All Star node down there that he uses to connect up.
Speaker A: Okay, well, I'll send you an email because I'd have to reboot my computer and all that to get that information. So I'll send you an email and ask you for that information. Yeah, I'd like to talk to him. I haven't talked to him at eons. You know, same way with you. When I pretty much moved out of Nevada or didn't get on too much, I didn't have all star. That's what it was. I didn't have all star until I moved to Northern California from Northern Nevada. I got remarried and she wanted to be over there with her kids and all that stuff. You know how it goes. And for a time went over there. I'm glad we're out of there. My gosh, am I glad we're out of there. And came over here to Alabama. No complaints. You know the weather gets cold. It gets cold in Toronto too. Port Northern Nevada. So you don't like the weather, stay inside over here. It's climate controlled. Yeah, I'll sit down an email. You can send that information to me. N7T and D84LD.
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, no, do that. I'll pass. Pass all numbers on to you. Yeah. I forgot when we started using All Stars. Been a number of years. We had echo link for a long time. We still do. We have echo link on our server and we have. So we have some of the guys n7tsz. Craig, he still checks into the net on Echolink. He lives up in Oregon I think. So we'll have a lot of echo link activity on net.
Speaker A: Nice.
Speaker B: Combined on top of all of our activity. But the nose always on. But we rarely hear anybody connect to it outside the net.
Speaker A: Craig. Gosh, his name sounds familiar. The call sounds a little bit familiar. I wonder if he was doing nets on Wayne Shanks repeater K7WS. Was it 14727 or 21 or was correct part of it? Oh, not prop a can of the other. Hotel Cortez. Was he part of the Cortez repeater group? Craig.
Speaker B: Craig was a member of hxo. Still is. I don't know if he was a member of Wayne's group or not.
Speaker A: Okay. How many members do you have in hxo now?
Speaker B: Oh geez, man. I. I'm gonna guess 50. Not a lot. Not a lot. Unfortunately. You know like with every anything with ham radio there's not a lot of people actually are on the system except for Net Knights unfortunately. But I would say around 50 ish.
Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. I don't know how many was on there when I was on there. Let's see what's his call. Sam Muscleman. I can't remember. He's called. He's still a member.
Speaker B: And 7 Sandy Friday. I didn't catch the name.
Speaker A: Say again? Sam Muscleman. I can't remember if the call is a KC7 something.
Speaker B: Yeah, you know, I. I don't believe you currently remember. I remember the name but I would say no.
Speaker A: 84 LP. Okay. Yeah. A lot of people join clubs and they're in it for a while, then they. Then they get out. I wish I could have attended more meetings. You know, I always had to have a ride in and a ride home. But it was fun. I enjoyed that and enjoyed, you know, all that you guys did. I'm sure you still do quite a bit. Are you still involved in the maker of it history?
Speaker B: No, we're not. You know, for a long time there used the 88 box up on high potency and even sometimes used for various low potency repeaters. Now they tend to do stuff mainly with FRS now and cell phones. They kind of got away from relying on the hams for one reason or another. We support the Nevada Open Challenge race that happens twice a year. That's at high speed on roadways. That goes between Lund and Hico. Lund and Hico up in the central part of the state. They use our Highland Peak repeater for that and sometimes Angel Peak. That's the major one that we support. Every now and again we'll get a request for use our network for foot trap and foot races and bike races. And we take various repeaters off ladies, tie up the whole network and let them have at it. But not Baker Vegas.
Speaker A: All right. Yeah. I used to get involved in the. Some of those races. They had the Herbs brothers. They had the race starting there at Terriblestown and. Oh gosh. And they right downtown and they would go almost up to the Tonopah. I don't remember. It was. I think it was like 500 miles or some ridiculous thing. I remember the year that they were in it and they were just blowing everybody out of the water. The two brothers and they. They were probably, oh, 15 miles away from Tarrant out there in Johnny. And they rolled it. They rolled the car and went unbroken leg. They didn't even finish that year. Man, those guys are daredevils.
Speaker B: Yeah, it sounds like it. They're still big in China, man. They got big mega gas stations and convenience centers all through town. They got a big one right at Jeep going down the highway on I15. They got a casino or two and everything else. They're definitely a part of the community.
Speaker A: I met them when they were building Terrible down in Pahrump, and they took over another casino in the south. South end of the valley. I don't remember the name of it. It's also an RV park. And then there was another RV park somewhere in Iowa or Ohio that had the same name. So I'm thinking they were part of that. It seemed like everything they touched turns gold. And they had their own helicopter. They would fly back and forth. And I don't know if they own anything out there in Pahrump anymore or not. All right, well, I think we've tied this up long enough. And maybe I'll touch base with you a little bit later, let somebody else have a chance to use it. It's great talking to you, Ralph, as always. And I'll shoot you an email and have you sent me off all the info of the. The note numbers and when the meeting and all that stuff. N7TND84LD.
Speaker B: Okay, Larry, take that. And that's same back at you. Great to talk to you. Great to catch up. So I'll chat with you later. N7T and D. Just north of Barstow.

Speaker B: Well, kinda. I guess it was worth it for a little while. That. But only. The only thing, I. I couldn't understand a word. The people that were on that, we were picking up what they said. I can't understand fandom. I sent that thing to Florida with. Thank you.
Speaker A: Maybe that's a good home for it, huh?
Speaker B: Yeah, that's for sure. What are you up to?
Speaker A: I'm just sitting here slaving a place with a salt mine, finishing out my work day. Aside from that, another mud.
Speaker B: You in Panaka then?
Speaker A: Sorry, Quick heat. All I heard was Panaka. Say again?
Speaker B: Are you in Panaka now?
Speaker A: Yes, sir, I am. Although oddly enough, I'll be in Boron next week. Week, sadly enough.
Speaker B: Well, we got to have Borax, you know that. We got to have her.
Speaker A: As the marketing department says, Boron is essential to life. Yeah, we got stuff and things happening. I haven't been there since, I don't know, November, something like that. But I'll sure be glad when I'm back in Lincoln.
Speaker B: We'll sure be glad to have you back. I got something for you to look at over here. When you get a chance to tell me what you think of the CV base station antenna. And it's huge. I got to put it together. Maybe it'd be better for Puzzle for you to put it together.
Speaker A: Well, I could probably give it a good shot and then even tone it out with some instrumentation and see if it would work for the amateur 10 meter band. Because 10 meters, a lot of fun right now. You can hop around the.
Speaker B: That's what I was thinking. One of these days when you get a minute, I'll have you come look at it, see what you think. It says on the box that it was from Williams, I think, out of Vegas. That's where it came from. Said it's a base station DB antenna. But I understand you can, if it's set right, you can use it for 10 meters.
Speaker A: Yes, sir. I have a. You know, the regular CD whip antenna on my truck and I don't even need to retune to work 10 meters with it.
Speaker B: Well, what I was thinking, I've got a Cobra 29 Night Watch Ltd Classic here on the shelf. I gotta get Mike and that stuff for it, but I thought maybe I could run it. You'll have to look at it, see what you think.
Speaker A: Yeah, I know there's some tvs that could be, you know, import CDs and such like that that you can run on Ted Neighbors.
Speaker B: I'll have a look, you know, take
Speaker A: a picture of it. Ask Google about it. No problem.
Speaker B: Good. Hey, can you still. Can you program on the. This bowl thing that I got. Can you pack repeaters like. Like Red Mountain and Angel Peak? That's out of Vegas. Can you program them into that radio?
Speaker A: Yes, sir, I most certainly could. I could also add Matt Elmer's new repeater that's up on Highland. Have you got it programmed yet?
Speaker B: No, I haven't. I haven't done anything with them. I need to get them all Pro feed programmed in there so when I go to Vegas, I have a radio that I can get out at when I'm in Vegas.
Speaker A: Yes, sir, I can help you with that. So I'll be gone all next week. I'm out of town. I'm going to Cedar tomorrow and I'm pretty busy on the weekends lately.
Speaker B: We're doing.
Speaker A: Stephanie and I are doing the EMT class, so we can volunteer on that ambulance.
Speaker B: But.
Speaker A: Yep, hit me up. I can help you out.
Speaker B: Thanks. I'm glad you're back. I stopped by your house one day and knocked on the door.
Speaker A: I.
Speaker B: Nobody. I heard the music was playing pretty loud, so I didn't think anybody heard me, so I just left.
Speaker A: Yeah, well, that's been known to happen on occasion, but yeah, you're welcome. Knock anytime. If we're here, we'll answer.
Speaker B: No, thanks, I will. So you're going to be gone over to California for all next week?
Speaker A: Actually, I'll be home and expect off work on Friday. Not this Friday, but the one after. Yeah, I'll be here.
Speaker B: Right. I'll give you a shout on the radio if you're listening.
Speaker A: Well, I probably won't be listening to the radio because I won't be up here working. But you know, like I say, give a shout, come on by, whatever. Get my number, too.
Speaker B: Is it the same one you had before?
Speaker A: The only phone number I've ever had. The only mobile phone number I've ever had. I still remember my childhood number, back when you only had to dial five digits.
Speaker B: Well, I can remember when you picked up the phone and the operator said, number, please, and I used to say, 1, 4, 6, R, that was my grandmother's phone number, to come get me.
Speaker A: Yes, sir, my elder. You got me on that one.
Speaker B: I was just a little kid and I used to get on the phone and you'd just pick up the phone. Operator on a switchboard say number please, and I'd give her that number, and they'd hook me up to my grandma and I'd tell her, come get me.
Speaker A: And now we have the Internet, and I'm not sure we've really changed all that much.
Speaker B: I don't really think we just. It's gone crazy, hasn't it? It's funny. From when I was little to what it is now. It's gone crazy.
Speaker A: All right, Ken, I gotta poke some more things on my computer screen. So, yeah, let's get together next week. God bless you. Talk to you when I do. Next.
Speaker B: KK7DP7DBi73. Good to talk to you.

System. Hey, you made it home in one piece. Congrats. Anyways, I made it back to the office in one piece, so. No longer mobile. See you, Ralph. Jkv. Good deal. Yeah, I just. Just pulled into the Valley. Saw about. About a half hour away from the office. Looks like there's a big. All right, man, thanks for the shout. I just had hit this.

Speaker A: S, 6 QB and 6 knothing. I'll be listening in. 6K, 80.
Speaker B: Kilo. Oscar six, Hotel Victor Sierra. I got a question for you, if you're still there.

I didn't catch who that was, but go ahead, Ken. Yeah, this is Jeff, Kilo Oscar 6, Hotel Victor Sierra. I'm a newer ham, and I had a question. As I scroll through my memory channels every time, it keeps getting stuck here on this repeater, it's just loud and fuzzy, and every other channel I have is quiet. And I'm just, you know, scan it through the memory and boom, it hits this one again. It's just hissing and loud. Any info on that? Thank you.

Speaker A: Year, maybe two. I march it on. Yeah, I've heard you on a few times. I just haven't chimed in. I, I've got an antenna problem. I've got water in the coax. I, I, I got a new coax. New, new mount and all that. I just gotta get off my lazy duff and change it out. But anyway, I won't hold it because it's probably not that good a signal, so. But here again.
Speaker B: Yeah, good to hear you too, there, Clarence. Yeah, yeah, get, get that coax fixed real quick. When's the last time you talked to Brian?
Speaker A: I might have been an HF and going on almost a year, pretty close. It's been probably a year, maybe or more. I, I talked to a couple guys that talked to Brian and.

Speaker A: You take care n6k ne here. Setting out the sun. No wind, clear skies. Supposed to be that way for maybe about another week. How's the weather in Colombia?
Speaker B: It's been good. We've had some overcast basically all day today. Currently 77 degrees. Can't beat that. Okay, the wife is yelling at me, telling me that dinner is ready. I'm gonna go knock that out. But I will be listening. And again, good to hear you Clarence. Take care and pick your key and eat.
Speaker A: Sure. If your YL fixes in there, it's probably a nice one. So look for you a little further down the logo man. Take care 60 UK.
Speaker C: No, I bet Ken's not having an Ida burger clearance. How come your sound signal sounds so good on here? Best I ever heard you.
Speaker A: Hi Larry. Good evening to you. Good early late afternoon. Good early evening, whatever the case may be. How's the things over on the coast there in Florence? Still keeping your powder dry over there?
Speaker C: Yeah, this week we are. This week we are. No, I just. Just came
Speaker B: in
Speaker C: and heard you on here and I've never heard your signal sound so good on here. So be mindful. What's going on with you there? How you've been treating you.
Speaker A: Sitting out here soaking up some vitamin D here sitting, sitting right next to the. Right next to the 100 year old man. He's still kicking.
Speaker C: Good afternoon to you, John. Remember meeting you in Clarence in person for the first time with you all. You guys came up to my place in Forest Ranch. So
Speaker A: good
Speaker C: memory that day. Well, this 55 degrees here since I've been shining today. But still a little chilly outside. But I should just put some vitamin E myself. I sure don't get enough of it here.
Speaker A: Cable5 business. I've got a feed point problem with my antenna. The new coax. Before I ever came in yesterday I had little problems problem situation today so I didn't get to it. But probably tomorrow, the next day I'll. I'll get that taken care of. The signal should even be better yet there, Larry. Anyway, say hello to Ida for me and philosophy and all that and yeah, the Ida burgers. All right, we'll take care. 73 Larry UK 73.
Speaker C: 76. Good to hear you. You should behave out there.
