GEARS W TX (146.115 MHz) recordings for 2026-01-17
Kn 6 mgk mobile.
Speaker A: N7t and the vegas.
Speaker B: Kn6mgk testing local.
Speaker A: There.
Speaker B: Are you.
Speaker A: Are you able to be off on Monday?
Speaker B: Yeah, probably. I got. I'm. I'm backed up on stuff. I mean I may do some stuff. I don't. I'm not sure. We got off. We got off because that. What the hell Is it that ML? Yeah, MLK did. I think it is. Anyways. Yeah, we got, we got. The majority of people are off. I got some people that are working for various things that are going on.
Speaker A: Okay. I just discovered my car was out of gas, so. Or almost out. It's like less than 8. She just runs on fumes all the time. I just the surpriser and took it down the sand plug fill it up just now it wasn't any kind of line. I just done my car and no, this was no line. So I went home and was shuffling cars, moving cars across the street and noticed the car was out of gas. So I'm almost back home and I'm getting stuff done. Like all it's production projects, bathrooms, all that fun stuff. Right.
Speaker B: You have a different version of fun than me, but I get it. You know there's this. I forgot the name of the gas station. I don't remember when I drive past the damn thing. But there's a one on Nellis.
Speaker A: I found Nellis.
Speaker B: Not Nellis, I'm sorry. Craig Rowe, just east of Rancho, off brand name. But anyways, I filled up my Jeep there the other day. 278 a gallon. A couple people at work were talking about it and anyways that was pretty good. I went down to the People's Republic, Tuesday or Wednesday for a day trip. Drove down there and I went through Baker and there was 580 a gallon there. Good old California taxi.
Speaker A: Like seriously, would anybody ever. Like what poor plane would you have to have to pull up a paper for six bucks? Ridiculous. Yeah, no, I know what you want. You're probably talking about Murphy Oil or something like that. Yeah, so I've got gas there before. I just usually get a stamp or Costco, whatever. Usually pretty cheap. I don't know shoe something today, I can't remember. So I wasn't really but. So got any fun plans for the weekend? You going to go to computer sites or just do some work at home kind of stuff or. What are you doing?
Speaker B: No radio sites, Everything seems to be working well, knock on wood. No, mom's still in the hospital so I got dorking with that right now. They're probably sometime this weekend depending on availability. They're going to move her to rehab or assisted Living or whatever they call it. So that's been kind of occupying some time. Cheryl's been doing the brunt of it, but so do that. That's really going to probably be about it. Other than that, don't really have any plans. Veg out. Got a. Got a few things just to kind of around the house with nothing out of the order. I gotta replace my balance on my off center set wire. Had a problem with it for a while where the balance just gone bad. What happened is if I hit it with anything above 5 or 600 watts on a single sideband on 40 meters or actually any of the bands it knocks off the amplifier because of highly selective power. But it doesn't do it on fmram, just on sideband. Which so of course it makes sense, right? The instantaneous power. So I got a new ballot a while ago from Giga Parts, not Giga Parts, from hro. And I just haven't had a chance to put it in. So I'll probably do that.
Speaker A: Okay. Very good. That sounds fantastic.
Speaker B: Yeah, I mean the bands are so good, you know. Well, you've heard me talk about it. The bands are so good. Even 10 meters now you can talk. You can talk. You know, down to Australia, New Zealand, you know, Even Europe on 10 meters now, a single side band. It's really, really spectacular. Even on the compromised antennas I have because of my restrictions. It's been really good. Yeah. Actually all the bands have been really good. 75 is kind of noisy. I don't have an antenna for 160. But the other ones have been doing really, really well.
Speaker A: I got all kinds of plans for that place.
Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker A: It sounds like
Speaker B: you're certainly going to have the real estate with it, that's for sure. Real estate for it, I should say. That's for sure. That'll be exciting. And one of these days maybe I'll. Maybe I will be able to be able to do talk anyways do something similar. Get the heck out of this place and get some land someplace more out
Speaker A: in a little more of a remote area. Right.
Speaker B: And be able to do that type of stuff. So I would. I would enjoy that.
Speaker A: Yeah. Our friends just relocated. Carson Valley, you know. He's the director of a manufacturing company worldwide international manufacturing company. He's a partner in it like 40 some odd years. He's probably got another year or two till retirement. Just kind of outlast one of the partners that a bigger chair. I don't quite understand how it works. But anyway, so he just couldn't take Anymore. So the whole family qsy from Loi, California over to Carson Valley over right next to Minden, Nevada. And they got a nice home over there and quite a few and all that. They went for a smaller, smaller lot, you know, maybe quarter eight. But they're happy, they're loving it. And there's everything to do, like everything you possibly want around there, you know. Still got this data, just tax safe and all that, so. Tax program. So yeah, we're just super excited about our property. And I should have power in about, hopefully about a week and a half. About a week and a half away. We're taking a trip up there a week from this Monday. Hopefully we're staking it on a Monday. And then they're gonna start putting all the poles and lines and putting in the 400amp panel. I got all these parts in my garage. It's like electrical wholesaler in my garage. Like conduit, all kinds of wire, cool stuff. Seven strand number two, bare copper, Pretty cool stuff.
Speaker B: And once you get your power, sounds like you should put a remote, remote. A remote HF station up to be nice and quiet. Yeah. Guy that I work with really closely bought a house up in Carson City. Matter of fact, he's up there right now. He looks but got an early flight out this morning for the long weekend. He's got Monday off and he really enjoys it. We were to Carson a year or two ago. We went to Tahoe just to get away for a while. We drove down to Carson and hung around town for a while. Went to see a couple of sites and stuff. And a nice town. Really very, very friendly people as such. And looked like not too bad of a place to live, as you probably know. Not too far away from the Reno airport. I think he told me half hour, 45 minute drive to the airport, which is like getting from our side of town to Harry Reid anymore. Not too much of a difference.
Speaker A: Yeah, that's the only drawback about Elko is the airport there is lacking. There's only one, one carrier Delta and there's no direct flight. So if you want to fly from here to there, there's just one carrier and you have to fly by a salt lake and it's tight because zero competition now. There's not a lot of demand, but they do have an airport. But you know, just an emergency supply. But you know, for 600 bucks or something like that, forget it. You know, anything like jumping on a spirit flight for $49 or you know, $79 round trip, something like that. Billy was telling me that ridiculous low prices for flights between Vegas and. And Reno. Cheap.
Speaker B: Yeah, well, you know me. I'm a Delta guy. I fly Delta everywhere I go. Happy with them.
Speaker A: But.
Speaker B: Yeah, I know. There's a guy was telling you about, he used to take Spirit and I take. I want to say Flint gear. Anyway, he takes one of those and he says, yeah, it's really cheap. Like 30, $45 to get on a plane. And since he's got a house up there, he doesn't pack anything, you know, a shirt on his back, so to speak. He's got everything he needs back upstairs. So he. He does that. So, yeah, the airport I fly in when I go see my buddy at Sault Ste. Marie is the Sault Ste. Marie Airport. Delta is the only flight or the only airline that services that comes out of Detroit. Quick hop.
Speaker A: But it's not.
Speaker B: It's not too dead.
Speaker A: Yeah. So. All right, well, I'm back home. I'm getting the blower out. I'm getting ready to blow some leaves out of the front yard and clean it up. I'll catch you later. Have a great night. Zone 3 from nr. 7G live.
Speaker B: All right, man, take care. I'm gonna put some gas in the car here. I'm coming up on teams myself and seven. Tandy.
Speaker A: Hello, John and Ralph. Ralph, before you go, I'm gonna turn on Parrot for you. Give me just a second, okay?
Okay, go ahead, Go ahead. You can key up with me here. Audio level is a little above average. Still pretty good though. Okay, go ahead. You can key up with me here. Yeah, I can. This radio set up a full duplex and a speaker mic, so I'm not sure how that worked out. Audio level, It works just like you guessed it did. System 32 link off. Oh, there's a funny farm. Yeah, I was just going to let you know you were quite hot, but of course you probably sound good out of the repeaters, but directly through All Star you were. John's audio was about half as much as yours was. Just FYI. It sounds like you backed away from the microphone. You did sound much better. Was that Mike, Buddy Farm Mike, it's me, WP6JKV. Just had to throw my nickel's worth. Can't get pennies anymore. So you're saying you can't go to the bank and get pennies? I think all the grandmas and grandpas are hoarding them in their five gallon water jug. Wipers are fake Safeway the other day and they didn't have things for change, so they were just rounding, you know, in the direction that favored them. It was pissing some of the people off. It was pretty funny. Yeah, I know. Casinos will do that. They won't give you pennies, they'll give you a voucher for 27 cents or something. Yeah, well, you know, all that adds up. You know, Walmart and casinos, they can. They can pocket quite a bit of money by not giving the pennies away. Back to Costco and just rake them in too. I forget the name, Take cash, who knows? Yeah, they do. Yeah, my wife beat some hundred dollar bills all the time. All right, well, good to hear you and I'd hate to see it, but can't drive the system up any longer. I'm a little short of breath. I've got. I've got something going on in my. My chest. I've been fighting for the last couple of days. But good to hear all of you. Ralph and John and Mike, you guys take care. I'm gonna go Back to listening. N6P. N E. Hi Ken. Nice here in Crimea and hope to enjoying. I guess it's summertime in your neighborhood, so. Yeah, I'm just hopping off 101 here. Got to go drop a laptop off at First Place here in Milbury, so see you. P6JKV is out of here. All right, Mike or K. Kendra. I'll talk to you guys later. Ralph, just FYI. Yeah. Your audio is probably about 15% hotter than everybody else's, but to me, it sounds great. Okay. Yeah, I'll check it again. I. I set it up and on my service monitor for 5kC deviation. So I'm the master of going on maybe just different levels inside the system. I'm all Sorry. Okay. N17. Yeah. Whatever it is you're on now is fine. What you were on before, it just sounded like my game was a little high, that's all. But I'm a fan of more audio, you know? Got to get the rail clip just a little. That's right, man. It's. How about hitting the noise ratio? Right. Less noise. All right. Later. See you.

Speaker A: Hey, Mel, good morning. How are you doing out there?
Speaker B: Just proved this morning that we've got at least a 77. 0 variation between the onsite temperatures and the outdoors. 9 degrees this morning with a moderate window.
Speaker A: Oh my. Yeah, that's cold. Yeah, we've been. That's about 56 now. We've been pushing in the upper 60s here lately. It's another little bit of a warm streak and pretty, pretty pleasant. No clouds in the sky, light breeze.
Speaker B: So it looks like it's going to
Speaker A: be a good day. I checked the cameras up on Angel Peak yesterday and pretty much the snow that we got a week or two ago is all gone. So it's definitely an unusual winter for us.
Speaker C: It doesn't sound like it's the kind
Speaker B: that you want to complain about, that's for sure.
Speaker C: A little bursting the snow this morning,
Speaker B: just enough to accumulate in the cracks in the sidewalk and stuff like that.
Speaker C: And it's been that way for about the last week.
Speaker B: We had two to three flurries of snow, but nothing seemed. But the temperatures dropped. We held them in early 1950s last week and just overnight they crashed.
Speaker A: Okay, very good, very good. Hey, do you remember back in the day we had forgot his call sign? Larry Dorn and some and Mrn. You remember him back in the. Probably the 90s or something?
Speaker C: You know, I don't remember the call
Speaker B: sign, but I remember the name. That was about the same period in the night that you were president. Is that accurate?
Speaker A: May have been. Anyways, the point of it is he's up on the system again via All Star, linked up through him, through Ken Kne and some of the other guys back in Oregon. I think it was back when we were linked to them temporarily. And I think it's call sign. He's 84 lD now or something. He lives in Alabama, just south of Huntsville. Anyways, I had been talking to him off and on and he was connected to our node direct yesterday. We had a nice discussion. So, yeah, he's still with us. Like I said, he got married again and remarried and his wife has family in Alabama. So he moved out there. He's all connected up. So it's just, it's wonderful. We have these IP connections we can use. I know a lot of folks say it's not real radio, but whatever, it's still, it's still nice to have that to get folks that kind of move out of the RF footprint, so to speak. So can call back and stay in touch. But anyways, you might hear him on, on the system off and on.
Speaker B: Okay. If you're still active in radio, he's probably running with Gene by now. Gene Simmons or Sparks moved into Warner Robins, which is south of where you described.
Speaker C: When I was a kid, my father
Speaker B: was stationed over and Montgomery for a while and then down at Warner Robins Air Force Base, which is what Gene takes advantage of with his retirement.
Speaker C: That one. Ham radio is
Speaker B: pretty highly active in ham radio, especially for the skywarn and the hurricanes and such.
Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, I would imagine it would be nice to talk about it. Yeah. I forgot the name of the city. It's a smaller city just south of Huntsville. It says it's about maybe a 20 to 30 minute drive from the airport. And you know, I go to Huntsville several times a year, so next time I head down there, I'll make a point of meeting up with them. Anyway, like I said, it's cool to be able to make those, Reconnect those old friends.
Speaker C: I think we were just taking a
Speaker B: driving tour down the east coast of Florida and stopped off and saw one
Speaker C: of our former members there.
Speaker B: I think he's passed away. In fact, I don't remember the name off him. We stopped him for hour or so to visit with him and his wife in central Florida. It's good to stay in touch if you're still around that street. I'm on echolenc right now on the, on the phone.
Speaker C: Your quality coming through here, just pray.
Speaker B: Perfect. Of course you're on All Star.
Speaker C: How's mine going the other way?
Speaker B: On echoing.
Speaker A: Yeah, I'm on. I'm on angel right now and I'm heading over to the other side of town. Your, your audio's. Yeah, it's not that good. So it's very compressed, which is typical for Echo link, but it's got some raspiness to it. Hard, almost like the mic games too high or something. But your deviation's fine. It's kind of raspy, kind of like you would. Like you would sound if you're a little bit off frequency, which of course isn't the case, but that kind of artifact.
Speaker C: Okay. I tried this so much before I
Speaker B: was on a computer. In fact, that's what I used at last week's check in for Wednesday and it's to my ear that's worse than what I'm on right now. I checked this with the test server this morning and it doesn't sound all that bad. I'll take a closer look at it and see if I can tweak the audio back down. I do recall Having set this one pretty high so I'm not surprised.
Speaker A: Yeah, I mean maybe that's maybe, just maybe it's just compressed. I thought you said you were. Did you ever get that open spot working on All Star?
Speaker B: That was going to take some work and I just now got around to playing with radios again like you've always said. He's doing a whole lot better but looks like I'm going to have to re register. I probably mentioned that before I had All Star in California and when I tried it here after logging into the house network, the WI fi, it just wasn't connecting. It was giving me connection errors. Yeah, I did mention that to you because I was talking about having two re register because they might have had a purge somewhere along the line
Speaker C: or
Speaker B: California was, let's see, three, four, four or five years ago. I guess we were still living down there maybe five to six years.
Speaker C: But I still find the bullet once
Speaker B: I get there fixed up and put
Speaker C: it on the
Speaker B: Nike M1K E. That
Speaker C: way I stick out the audio tweaking.
Speaker B: It's. It has a lot of breath noise. Breathing noise and I think there's a way to roll that off. I'll look into that here shortly.
Speaker C: So what else is new here? I guess I was just getting there
Speaker B: count the climbs for the week in my permanent and certainly I don't have
Speaker C: any reason to go out in the
Speaker B: 90 day weather with the windshield too. So I think that's going to be about it for the day here.
Speaker C: Let's see I'm on I so I'll
Speaker B: say M17MB this is K6 River.
Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, very good. Yeah I was looking at my stuff a few weeks ago. It's amazing how well everything is performing in the markets but you know, good times, bad times, definitely, definitely amazing on some of the returns but we'll see a lot of unrest obviously and I fear a lot more coming globally so I'm not sure what that's going to do. I saw that a lot of the foreign markets are really, really outpacing the US So I've been watching that pretty closely. I'm sure you've been doing the same.
Speaker B: Get on and everything up
Speaker C: well, 2025
Speaker B: and really good year. But
Speaker C: if I was to go into
Speaker B: that field I wouldn't touch it with a pearl. Fortunately I didn't do anything and it went way up in 2025.
Speaker C: But with the gut feeling that I
Speaker B: got about the situations in general both here in the States and other countries, it's just not a comfort period.
Speaker A: Yeah, no, I'm rolling way back. I talked to my guy a week or so ago. We're going to start to divest some of that. With things getting ready to do what I think they're going to do. It's going to be a bad time to be over there. So anyways. All right, Mel, well, I'll let you go. I gotta stop here, get some gas and then gotta work on my mom and stuff when I go see her. So I will be around. Good to chat. But yeah, it'll be great when you get that open spot working. I think that'll really improve your experience immensely. I use echo link a little bit when I travel, but actually not even anymore since I got TV switched on my device that seems to work fairly well. Anyways, hi to Lori and have a good day out there. Stay warm.
Speaker D: And seven C and D Vegas.
Speaker C: Okay. One other thought.
Speaker B: If you get some time in front of a computer, take a look at
Speaker C: the Crew 11
Speaker B: re entry from the space station.
Speaker C: I'm sure one of the four crew
Speaker B: members that came some kind of illness and they decided to cut that trip short by two weeks.
Speaker C: So anyhow, they came down Wednesday morning
Speaker B: probably what time it was probably 12:30am in the night, your time in the Pacific.
Speaker C: And I reentry those in an arc
Speaker B: over Kensucka, the Ocean Islands and Anzani and west coast and my off of San Diego. Well, the channel I was watching had on actually came in on all of the NASA feeds. But when I was watching the drug shoots popped out, which was a nice thing to have. And just maybe 30 seconds after they popped out, initially on the infrared camera that was on a WD57 like it
Speaker C: usually do, they were tracking it all
Speaker B: the way down, just a heat signature.
Speaker C: And suddenly in the back of the
Speaker B: capsule in the drag chute was a cruise ship.
Speaker C: It was part of the Princess, a
Speaker B: Royal Princess cruise ship that would have
Speaker C: been the only one in the area.
Speaker B: On the way back to San Pedro,
Speaker C: I had a bunch of reactions to that.
Speaker B: The first one was why is my
Speaker C: cruise ship and the night flying off
Speaker B: when there's no cruise on? It gave the impression that the ship and the both ships cruise ship and the spaceship seemed like they were too close.
Speaker C: It's probably just an illusion. But soon I think I went back and checked the retailers and the different
Speaker B: feeds like from NASA and Space.com and they all showed it and it generated essentially zero activity on the web.
Speaker C: Composure started building up and a lot
Speaker B: of people asking the same question.
Speaker C: Well, was the coastal or where was
Speaker B: the crew, cat or ship cap, who should have known about that. It's worth looking at. It's really interesting the first time is
Speaker C: it came on and said, oh, don't worry about it.
Speaker B: That's just the recovery ship for the. For.
Speaker C: It was very poorly.
Speaker B: Not the recovery ship, it was a cruise ship. And I moved it off on Princess website and there it was. And it looked identical to a heat signature.
Speaker A: Yeah, no, I, I haven't been tracking that. A sick astronaut, so I didn't know about that. But that's interesting. Yeah, that's. That's funny. I'll have to. I'll have to get on YouTube or whatever, check that out later. So, yeah, thanks. Thanks for the tip. That's going to be. That's going to be cool to watch. All right, 73 mil N17,
Speaker D: N7tmd. Just a quick one.kn12.
Speaker A: Kn2r, I think it was. Go ahead.
Speaker D: Yeah, just a quick one. You know that X SpaceX, they showed that whole landing. Never saw that ship in the X recording anyway. Yeah, you mentioned something about those.
Speaker A: You had a comment about the weather,
Speaker D: something about the weather there. Something not normal. I missed part of that too. What was the issue you're going
Speaker B: to.
Speaker A: I kind of mentioned that we were unusually warm. We love all the snow at our repeater site. We got the storm moved in a couple weeks ago, a week or two ago, whatever.
Speaker D: It was
Speaker A: quite a bit of snow up there. And now it's been Fairly in the upper 60s, 70. And I was checking our cameras, one of our radio sites, as a matter of fact, the site I'm talking to right now, and pretty much no snow up there. Is that what you were talking about? Yeah.
Speaker D: I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I noticed recently there's news come out that the administration is cracking down and trying to eliminate all this weather seeding, you know, cloud seeding and weather manipulation of all kinds through office.
Speaker A: They want to get rid of it.
Speaker D: And all 50 states. I'm in Florida and as you know,
Speaker A: we get a lot of crazy weather
Speaker D: here that we haven't seen in 50 or 100 years.
Speaker A: You know, the past.
Speaker D: And all of it, really, mostly
Speaker A: the
Speaker D: past five years, it was really bad. I'm just wondering, you know, I've seen those chemtrails over my area here in southwest Florida. They look like giant Tic Tac gold boards.
Speaker A: Gigantic.
Speaker D: And we got farms just to the east of me. Why are they messing with the weather if that's what they're doing with these chemtrails in Florida. I mean it's flat here, you know, we got so much water. It's, you know, Florida, especially south Florida, there's water everywhere.
Speaker A: Yeah, I don't, I can't really speak that I'm having tracking that kind of stuff. We don't see that here in southern Nevada, but we could certainly use some of that.
Speaker D: We have been in a drought situation
Speaker A: here for I would at least 25 years. I moved to the part of town I've been now in 2001 and we were starting to drought then with lake heat starting to go down in water
Speaker D: and it's been continuously downwards since then.
Speaker A: Maybe every now and then a little bit of a spike, but it goes right back down. So it's been terrible here. Of course they're still building houses like crazy, which is obviously money driven. But we've got nothing this year. Very dry winter. I know the Rockies are dry, which where we get our water from the Colorado. So we can use some of that seeding stuff, I guess. Yeah.
Speaker D: Well part of the stuff that I've been reading that they're finding is they're doing it more out west, causing the rain to dump which if they didn't do it would have reached you. Do you see that rain would have reached you if they didn't have a dump west of you.
Speaker A: Oh, okay. Get it. Yeah. But I mean Caleb, you know, are you implying that's the reason that they've had all those atmospheric rivers and stuff nailing California lately? Well, I don't know, I.
Speaker D: You know, are they seething out there in the ocean?
Speaker A: I wouldn't doubt it.
Speaker D: They're probably were doing it in the Gulf, you know, brewing it on the west coast here which they did a
Speaker A: good job of and then it going
Speaker D: up as you know, into the Carolinas period or did apple melton or something. Yeah, I think it's a good thing if they get rid of that stuff and just let us go back to a natural ecosystem, planet weather, just let it go natural. I think natural's the way to go. Don't mess with it. Anyway, it's all crazy stuff, isn't it?
Speaker A: Yeah. I can't disagree. Let Mother Nature take its course. Right. Okay, well I got to get out of here.
This dog on things, so I'll be around. Good to talk to you at 17, New Vegas. All right. Thanks for coming back. Km2r, southwest florida.
And 6 trt local 36.

D.
Speaker A: Hello there.
Speaker B: Hey john. How you.
Speaker A: In the flesh? NR7G. Good morning. What are you up to today? Headed home from the gym?
Speaker B: No, I hit the gym around 6 o' clock this morning.
Speaker A: Good day.
Speaker B: Got out of the way, ran by my mom's place to check her mail and fill up a pool and now I'm going to nurse her in the hospital.
Speaker A: Oh no, I didn't know she's in the hospital.
Speaker B: Yeah, she's been there for several days. Try to find out when they're going to move her over to rehab. Not sure yet. So it's a whole thing with that medical bureaucracy.
Speaker A: Right.
Speaker B: So doing that. A beautiful day out, man. Not a cloud in the sky. It's already 60 degrees. I think we're heading towards 70.
Speaker A: Yeah. I don't understand standard. I usually wait till the end of January to trim my road bushes. But I think I'm going to have to do it pretty soon. I don't want to start out thinking spring or something. So, you know, I usually cut them back for the kings, you know, in January. Just encourages, you know, March, end of February, beginning of March, start leaving out like that. So anyway, all right, well, good job taking care of the pool and all that. We're having a 50th birthday party for a friend of ours at church tomorrow. Surprise party, so trying to get the house all kind of touches for that. Had a church party here last night, so the house. House is already pretty. Pretty squared away. There a couple more things we got to do before this party tomorrow. And I got to spend a couple hours write a lesson for a church thing I'm doing on Tuesday night. I just want to get it done now because I know it's going to be a crazy weekend, so why not just get it taken care of now, right?
Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. Got a busy few days ahead of you. Yeah, good deal.
Speaker A: Good deal.
Speaker B: Yeah, like I said, got Monday off, so not sure what I'm gonna do yet.
Speaker A: Probably end up having to be self
Speaker B: with my mom again. And I've had a trip scheduled for next week or week after next. I guess that got canceled. So they're going to be around for a while.
Speaker A: I was supposed to go to 10
Speaker B: walking for some design reviews and things got pushed to the right, which that's fine. I wasn't looking forward to it anyway. So the only, really only real direct way to get down there is through South Forest Airlines and I hate those guys.
Speaker A: So I was just gonna take a
Speaker B: car and drive down. But anyways, yeah, other than that I talked to Mel a little bit before he was back. They're really, really cold. Just barely above zero. He was telling me something about, I guess they recovered some astronauts from the space station that was sick or something or whatever. They, they had some video online of the, of the landing and I guess the way the camera angles was the, the spacecraft came right over the top of a cruise ship. They were trying to figure out what a cruise ship was doing that in the ascension path of an air of a spacecraft. So I guess that's kind of a thing on the Internet. I'll get on YouTube later, take a look at it.
Speaker A: That's funny. Did the thing land in a splash down and was that the capsule or did it land and On a Runway somewhere? How does it, how's that go? And that's crazy. A cruise ship and everything. Wow, go figure.
Speaker B: I guess it was like a Princess Cruise Line or something. I'll have to watch the video later, you know. Well, the space shuttle's out of service, has been for a while. Of course. I would imagine the only way they have recovered is some kind of a splash landing. But pretty cool. The way he described it was kind of funny. Like I wonder if, I wonder if the cruise ship knew it was coming, right? Maybe they told everybody, hey, get on deck.
Speaker A: You gotta see if you see a
Speaker B: re entry burn or something like that. Pretty cool.
Speaker A: Yeah, hopefully. I mean was. Wasn't in danger of like striking the cruise ship, was it?
Speaker B: No, from the way Mel described it, no. It was just matter of I guess whatever, whatever sensors they had or whatever cameras they had recording it just looked like it was. They were right overhead. Maybe it was. Maybe it was like just a perspective. The angle and the ratio or the angle you're looking at for the video or whatever. You know, I can play, play tricks. But anyway, he described it kind of in passing as we finished up our conversation. So I was going to make a point of checking it out later.
Speaker A: Nice. Nice. Well, yeah, I think hopefully a week from tomorrow I'm going to be headed up to Spring Creek to take some electrical supplies up there, see if we can get some work done. So we'll hopefully that's going to materialize and start on that project starting Monday after the next one. And I'm pretty excited about that. So we'll see to find out if it's going to happen or not. I'm going to try and I only got three weeks at work, I mean three days at work this coming up week. So I try not to blast through as much stuff as Possible just to, you know, get everything in a place where I can leave for a couple days. I got a RFP out on the street this past Thursday, a couple days ago, so timing evaluation meetings and everything so that they won't occur. Well, that thing can be still on the street even by the time I get back. So anyways, just juggling to make sure, you know, that there's no deadline gone. That's the hardest part about the job. You know how it is.
Speaker B: Yeah. You mentioned you're gonna head up there and do a bunch of electrical work, so that's exciting, getting close. I'm sure excited. And, you know, you talked about a couple, three years away that'll be here before you know it. You know, time flies as well as I do, so. Still trying to figure out what I
Speaker A: learned over the next couple of years,
Speaker B: but, yeah, sounds cool. And I think you said you were going to hold on to your place here in Vegas, right?
Speaker A: Yeah, I think so. I mean, but I don't know, eventually maybe we may dump that five acres up in Mojave County, Arizona. I sold the land. Did pretty good on the sale of the land in Wyoming. So using that to proceeds and the king fix up the Elko county property. So, you know, it'll all come together. We'll figure it out. I don't know. Maybe I'll hold on to Arizona land. Somebody ever puts water out there, the water district has water about a mile down the mile or a mile and a half down the road. If they ever bring a pipe up for fire hydrants or municipal water out in my area, that'll be a game changer because it's. Right now the water cost me six figures to drill a well. It's not going to spend that kind of money if water was unsaturated, you know, future or whatever. So forget it. So, you know, we'll see.
Speaker B: We'll see what happens. Give it time for all the links to drop.
Speaker A: Send them.
Speaker B: Sandy? Yeah. I've got some land in Naples, Florida that I keep getting. There's something going on big there because I'm getting like text messages and crap from real estate agents, like a couple times a week saying, hey, you know, we're interested in buying your property, blah, blah, blah. So something big is coming, getting ready to go there.
Speaker A: I'll never live there, so it'll just
Speaker B: be a matter of trying to time the sale.
Speaker A: Okay. How big of property is it?
Speaker B: A couple acres.
Speaker A: Yeah, Naples is. Naples is on the Gulf Coast. Right. I've actually never been.
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A: It's right on the Gulf Coast.
Speaker B: Pretty. Pretty interesting area. They were going to do some kind of a major something there a while ago. I forgot what it was. I know there's a university and some other things going in. There's some major, major overpasses going in. So something big is happening. Instead of getting all the. All these texts and stuff about selling, so, like talking to Cheryl, it's just a matter of, you know, timing it because definitely not a part of the country I want to live in. You know, Hurricane Cheese and everything else and all the. Whatever, we'll leave it at that. But. So, yeah, it's just a matter of
Speaker A: time to figure out what we want to do and go from there. Well, there you go. All right, man. Well, you have a good rest of your day. I'm going to go get my book. A few hours, two and a half, three hours solid time, no interruption. And Julia and James are out riding mountain bikes of Blue diamond area with this group. So it's a good time for me to get some stuff done without interruption. Get off the ham radio. Distraction wavelength here. 10.7TND from NR7G located.
Speaker B: All right, man. Yeah, take care. Thanks for the shout you got. On the interstate here, head towards the Pooderville N7TMD. Have a good day.

Well, what good timing because I just got a text from John saying the generator's running and the camera's not working and I said we would look into it, so you're welcome. I'm not real familiar with the generator setup up there, but I'll have a look. Might be able to get my way through it. Oh, he just said that he got a call from wonderful utility company that there's a power failure up there, so better go prepared with some kind of auxiliary lighting. Well, actually, if the J is running, it should have power disregard. But you know, I point out be prepared. Okay, what we've got for auxiliary lighting, but we'll see. Well, I got a flashlight or two, so. Yep. Okay, that sounds good. And I guess we'll see you later. 6 MTV. Okay.
