Speaker A: Kn6mgk mobile paradise. Oh, were you at that ice protest on 20th street?
Speaker B: Oh, if I went to that, I'd probably get in trouble being a little instigator.
Speaker A: Yeah, I was there this morning. Didn't even know it. I did see some signs around Chico Mall saying, you know, for only for shopper use. Lots of these like delineators with signs like that out there. Nobody paying any attention to them. I didn't pay much attention to it. I didn't know what that meant really. So I was in there getting a cup of tea for a little while and then I saw these people on the, on the bridge that. The bike path thing or whatever, what we spend multiple millions of dollars for. So I guess that's going to be called the protest bridge with hundreds of people on there. Anyway. Okay, now I get, now I get why the signs were out.
Speaker B: It's kind of unfortunate that they did a good job building that bridge. It's kind of funny to see it fall. Oh God, I'm horrible. Yeah, N. She is so hilarious too. Because if these people weren't so dang brainwashed, maybe they'd realize that, heck, they're beloved. Old Obama deported. Way more people than Trump has so far.
Speaker A: Yeah, I just don't see, I mean, whatever side of the, of the, you know, I guess it's some sort of like Black Lives Matters. Whatever. Whatever side of the argument you come onto, I don't see how you find the time for all that. You know, I'm busy doing other things. I don't got time to be messing
Speaker B: around with that because they're liptards. They don't work. I mean, their job is getting paid to protest. I mean, I'm pretty sure most of them people there were probably getting paid to be there unfortunately.
Speaker A: Heard stuff like that. But I did see one person say that on a video, but you know, haven't seen a whole lot of other proof. But I mean a lot of the signs look kind of, you know, like someone in fourth grade could have made them. So that doesn't tell me that there's a whole lot of intelligence there.
Speaker B: Well, yeah, I'm pretty sure a fourth grader probably has more intelligence than most of them people out there doing that.
Speaker A: Yeah, well, maybe you could have made a lot of money, you know, delivering food and stuff to those people.
Speaker B: Oh, I doubt it. They are probably the non tipping type. Seems like a big thing here in Chico. People just don't understand somebody delivers you something because you're lazy. At least $5. I mean all these $1 tips to go all the way across town. I mean, it's like a slap in the face. I mean, I kind of get it when it's college kids doing it, but at that point, it's like walk your butt to a store around the corner. You're young. But, you know. You know, I feel that their parents have definitely failed them by not teaching them to tip properly. But, yeah, I would say those people protesting are probably part of that group that just, you know, I probably wouldn't get paid as much in tips. And on top of it, they would probably find something to complain about to try and get a free meal, too.
Speaker A: Okay, but that wouldn't be your fault, right? I mean, you didn't make the meal.
Speaker B: No, but there's a lot of people out there that will, like, try and claim. They just try and scam, you know, they'll try and claim, oh, I didn't get this with my order or this and that. And it happened quite frequently. And it's pretty sad. You know, people are just, you know, not honest people these days.
Speaker A: Do you have to go back to Taco Bell to get him a hot sauce?
Speaker B: Oh, no, I don't do none of that. I mean, maybe if they tipped me well, I would, but, yeah, I don't. I don't subscribe to that nonsense. They want to get something that was missing or wherever they got to contact the store and doordash.
Speaker A: Yeah, I was just curious. Yeah, I used to order when I'd go out for a hamburger at a place, and I don't mean a fast food place even to get french fries, which I'm probably not supposed to be eating anyway, but say I do like to have a little bit of ranch dressing with that, you know, to get my fries, you know. Anyway, most these places are starting to charge now for ranch dressing, so it's kind of crazy. So I guess if you get the ketchup, it's free, but, you know, ranch dressing. No.
Speaker B: Well, on top of it with doordash, Doordash charges the stores 30%. So the stores mark up their product for DoorDash orders 30% plus DoorDash then is all shady and marks up that even more. And then they charge people a delivery fee where I guarantee I'm not even seeing half of that. So I kind of feel bad for the customers. It's like, yeah, you probably just paid $10 for a delivery, but I'm getting $3 of that. So learn to tip. You know, people don't get it, but, you know, if you want to be lazy these days, you know, 20 years ago I order a pizza, I would tip five minimum. So it's pretty sad that these days people just don't do it. And it's like, well, if you can't afford to tip, don't go out, you know, or don't order delivery.
Speaker A: Well, I heard a sirens in the background. Is everything okay over there?
Speaker B: Yeah, just a fire truck going down the road. I don't know what that call was for. I got the other side of the radio turned down.
Speaker A: I thought a lot of them are going to pack it anyway. Didn't think you could hear a whole lot about what certain public service agencies are doing, especially police.
Speaker B: Yeah, I think that's utter bs. I think we have a right to listen in and hold them accountable. But yeah, so far it's just Chico PD and I think Butte County Sheriff. But all the emergency like, you know, EMT and fire and all that, still analog. Up in Tehama, everything's still analog. At least still.
Speaker A: So did you see that the Starlink Mini, they reduced or should say they. Anyway, the price was at least less than $199. Now of course the monthly fees is different packages, but it's starting to get more affordable.
Speaker B: Well, it gets even better than that. I've been a customer since the beta with them and they're sending me a free Starlink min.
Speaker A: That sounds pretty neat. Thought about getting something like that myself and just. I think you can pay it, can't you pay like five bucks just to kind of keep it in standby mode, something like that. Then you got to go up to 50 bucks for the minimum thing, right?
Speaker B: Yeah, it's something like that. There was for one of the options, the option I chose, it was like just an add on to my thing and it was like so much more a month or something, I forget. But then with the Mini I'll have so many gigabyte and then after that runs out, then I got Buy More or whatever. But I figure heck, it's free, send it on over.
Speaker A: Yeah, well, I'll have to check more into it, but yeah, I mean if it was five bucks a month, just I'll pay the couple hundred bucks to get stuff and then you know, in the time of need, if you had to activate it real quick, you already have the stuff, then you have to pay the. Pay the fees, you know, and I'd probably want to use it for a couple months out of the year anyway. But you know, just practice and so forth. Especially when you're out and about without any cell towers or anything like that. You want to run a, you know, one of the digital modes that might require timing.
Speaker B: Yeah, actually, I think you have to pay the $5 no matter what. If it's, you know, if you're not using it, you can't just sign up and then, you know, when, whenever, you know, they have a limited slots and whatnot that they do. But anyway, enjoy your ride. I just got an order after running to Safeway here, so I'll have to say 73.
Speaker A: Yeah, no, copy that. Yeah, I'd be willing to pay that five bucks. Just kind of keep it and, like, stand by anyway. All right. 73. Kilo November 6th.

Speaker B: Qf. Hey Nat.
Speaker A: How you doing down there?
Speaker B: Well, I'm getting along. My back's getting back to shape. I fell a couple weeks ago.
Speaker A: Stupid thing I did.
Speaker B: But all that aside, I'm getting pretty much. I can't believe it. Back to the normal more or less. I don't have the stamina cuz I don't. I don't exercise and stuff like I used to. But I. I might start getting back to it a little while. How's everything in your area?
Speaker A: Sorry to hear that. Yeah. At least you're on the road to recovery. It sounds like that's okay. You know we're with this so stupid shutdown fan game but the problem now is I've got money on contract through March so I'm not concerned about anything but you know they're playing, they're playing their silly games again. But there won't be any impact to the guys this time other than that I just really just seems like raw was just. Just busy, busy, busy. Gonna be heading to Yuma here toward at the end of the month for that the swap thing. So that'll be interesting. I know Bob and a couple of the guys from here in Vegas are in Ghost so Lee and I are going to head down there on that Friday morning, whatever the last Friday of the month is and then come back on Sunday.
Speaker B: Oh yeah, that's great. I did enjoy it when I used
Speaker A: to go back years ago.
Speaker B: I can't make it. I really can't travel much anymore, particularly now so. But I will miss that. You guys have a good time. But otherwise everything is the same here in the retirement community. And I'm glad that with the shutdown it's not going to affect the guys in the work. Yeah but I'm not going to comment
Speaker A: on radio that
Speaker B: anyhow. Say hi to Cheryl for me. And Joan's doing great.
Speaker A: Yeah, I'll do that. I'll do that. She's in her craft room doing some stuff. She got another multi needle machine at
Speaker B: a show in
Speaker A: Cal down near la. I forgot the name of the city she was in. Whatever it is matter, she bought one of those, ordered it to be here the end of March. So she rearranged for that. So she's kind of excited about getting that and yeah it's. That's about it. Everything with the club. Club's pretty stable. Everything seems to be working pretty well so knock on wood. And now my mom was in the. My mom was in the hospital for a while. Problem with you know Water weight again because of her heart condition. So she's in rehab for. Been in there for just over a week. I just got done coming back from seeing her after I went to the gym. She's getting anxious to get out of there. But I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to be able to ever bring her back home. I may have to look for a community like you're in, but she's fighting that tooth and nail. So that's. You can imagine the drama with that. So I'm kind of struggling with that right now.
Speaker B: Yeah, Ralph, I understand it. Well, tell her that I've enjoyed it. It's great to have other people around and that can help. And, you know, there's dining, depending on what kind of a retirement community, and everything's kind of taken care of. And they have exercise programs and they have other programs. They have music every week and things. She might really enjoy it. Tell her that I enjoy it quite a bit.
Speaker A: Well, you know, I've already told her that because she knows you. Of course, I mentioned that. And it's just. It's just a drama moving out of your house. But, you know, even the place she's at right now, they have. They have events every day. And she was commenting today about, you know, I just sit here, watch tv. I said, well, you know, why don't you go to these things? And I showed her all this stuff and I said, you just got to tell them, you know, you want to go and they'll take you there because they got, you know, they got like a piano guitar player and they have like, you know, board games and stuff. They'll play the bingo nights and, you know, all kinds of stuff like that. And there's this game that she likes called Rummy Cube that she likes a lot. They have a Rummy Cube tournament every Friday night. But she doesn't seem to be interested in participating in that stuff. So she's just depressed right now. But anyways, again. Yeah, other than that, it's been. It's been pretty much same old, same old here I told you about. Dirk's going to be retiring the end of June. Grimes is going to be retiring the end of September. So a lot of folks are to going be changing out here shortly.
Speaker B: Oh, wow. Grimes. It's interesting. You know, right at the end there was some dropouts, so not too long. So I got the instance of everything. It's funny I don't get in your direction, whatever the link. So it's really great talking to you And I really enjoy it. And Joan's playing cards this Sunday. Saturday and Sunday afternoon she plays cards. And we go to a music fest. There's a. This group comes in and they bring all kinds of entertainers every week. And we're going to go again Monday. They come in the spring and early summer, sometimes during the summer. So anyhow, that's what's going on here, Ralph.
Speaker A: Okay. I'm not sure. I'm getting dropouts going directly to my note here at the house, but who knows? Okay.
Speaker B: Yeah.
Speaker A: And Tyler Durham's coming in town third Tuesday night. Him and I are meeting Wednesday and going to go have dinner Wednesday evening. So he'll be in for a little bit. I'll say hi. I'll say hi to him for you. And looks like. It looks like Joe, Joe Wanger may be coming back to work for me. He's had some. Some drama with his current employer that I'll tell you offline. But he's looking at coming back, so I might pick him back up.
Speaker B: Oh, wow. Yeah, Joe and I go way back. I mean, 30 years, maybe longer. He was still working for the contractor when we first met. Yeah. Yeah. That's great. Say hi to Joe and hi to Tyler.
Speaker A: That's great.
Speaker B: I'm going to lean back and take a nap. I've been out shopping and doing things, so back's a little sore. So I'm going to take it easy. Take care and have a good week. W7OQF in Phoenix.
Speaker A: Okay.
Speaker B: Nat.
Speaker A: Yeah. Good to talk to you. Good to talk to you. I'll pass on the best to joe and tyler for you. And 7tnd vegas.
