Speaker A: Well, I certainly hope everyone's having a great evening. It's about 54 degrees here, getting close to highway 99. Kn6mgk is mobile.
Speaker B: Kn6mgk. Kn6odg.
Speaker A: By. I think I hear you on link. If you can come over to local KN6MGK.
Speaker B: Yeah, I had had it scanning and I stopped it on local link on accident. But. Well, if you just hit 99, I'll give you a heads up at First Avenue it is stopped traffic.
Speaker A: Oh, thanks for that. Yeah, sometimes it's the way it is this time of day. Oh, well, maybe this time it's an accident, but they have those stupid metering lights on and all that. You know, they probably could have spent the money on making another lane instead of putting those stupid metering lights in. Oh, and that protest bridge too.
Speaker B: Oh, I'm sure they could have done a lot, much better things with the money they spent on that. But. Yeah, no, it's. Yeah, it's bad up from first east. Really bad. So I figured I'd give you a heads up. I tried to let you know on the other repeater but you switched over too quick.
Speaker A: Yeah, I only switched over to that one because I was on another one and Mark got me from on that one and I could hardly hear him so I said, oh, let's switch over to the one that's closer to him. So I had to actually quickly put it in the DFO mode because I don't have too many. I only put like two memories on this one. So everything has to do by memory and that's starting to fail me.
Speaker B: Oh, I know that all too well. I've been having all sorts of problems after I had my accident. So what, you got a new radio in the truck then?
Speaker A: No. And still got the FTM 400.
Speaker B: You only have two things programmed. Wow, you're getting lazy in your old age, Steve. Hi. Hi.
Speaker A: Yeah, actually trying to keep the brain active to remember some of it. But yeah, so I have aprs going. So I have that one in memory on the radio and then I have this one.
Speaker B: Well, the two most important ones, I suppose.
Speaker A: Well, yeah, that's where I usually am if I'm on. Right. You know, most people know that if they know me anyway. So anyway, that's what I do. And so then when I want to go to another one, like I want to go to the 085 then I just, you know, put it in my handset here and then change my, the tone real quick to 127 for that one. Which is where I was. So I just try to memorize the ones that I care about. I guess
Speaker B: I forgot to say, take a wild guess who I ran into at Walmart a couple weeks ago. I was pulling in and there was. I was gonna pull into this one spot and I noticed some antennas on this car up a couple spots up. So I decided to pull in next to it and sure enough, it was another ham. See if you can guess who it was.
Speaker A: Well, you've already eliminated someone I was gonna guess. Cause you said car. The one I was gonna guess doesn't have a car. So give me just a second to think about this.
Speaker B: You don't talk to him too much, but you have in the past. And you've also sold him a radio before. Maybe that'll give you exclusive.
Speaker A: Yeah, well, I think you just. Since I haven't sold very many to people. And then you said him. Now I'm going to say it's that Pete. Forgetting their last name right now. But. But you know, the guy doesn't like me.
Speaker B: M6IWh.
Speaker A: Yeah, that one. Yeah. I'd actually forgotten the first part of this call, but I know his voice.
Speaker B: Yeah, I actually, when he got out, he was like, he actually was like, what's that intended for? And I looked at him, I saw his call sign up the back of his car. I was like, oh, you know what that is, you idiot with herpes or whatever. I called him and kind of laughed and took him a minute to figure out who I was.
Speaker A: Yeah, anyway, well, he don't talk to me and I don't talk to him and he told me to leave him alone or whatever. So I do. That's what I tend to do. Yeah, so I actually, I'm surprised I haven't seen him around like you did because I, I go to Walmart every now and again. Well, I guess one thing is that when you're doing what you're doing here, you get around a little bit so you have a chance to see all these other folks sometimes. But I actually try to stay out of Walmart for the most part. You know, if I was going to get a vaccine, I might have to get vaccinated just to go inside.
Speaker B: Yeah, I just stopped in there because I had to get oil for an oil change. But honestly, I would say I try not to do too much door dashing now. I decided I used to be pretty good at playing poker when I was younger, so I figured this week I had this guy try and scam me for $400 in liquor order with Doordash. So I was. And then started threatening me. So I thought, you know, I'm gonna go start playing poker again. And I was doing pretty good so far this week. And then I. The game broke early today, so I signed into Doordash for the heck of it. What do you know? First order was 20 bucks from Sierra Nevada. But anyway, I gotta go drop this order off here. I've arrived at the destination. Sent me all the way out onto Garner. Well, I'll be back here in a sec. KN6ODG.
Speaker A: Okay, well, yeah, that's a garter. That definitely deserves a tip. Talk at you later. I'm getting close. KN6MGK.

Speaker A: K7gnd n6kne are you listening here by chance this early in the morning?
Speaker B: K6LNK System 36 Snow Mountain Range.
Speaker A: NFL tmd las vegas.
Speaker B: Hey, morning, Larry. How's it going there so early? Going to work. A little bit of rain coming down here, which is not too frequent here. So it's nice to see a little bit. But it's been very warm here. It was like in the mid-70s yesterday. I think a little bit cooler today. But it's been a crazy. A crazy winter for us.
Speaker A: As well. Pretty hardly. For us. When usually in January, February, we're like. You can get in low 50s in the 30s and 40s every day. So, yeah, it turns on and it's too worrisome for the best days in Rockies and scary.
Speaker B: Yeah, not very good for our water levels here. That we've been going down pretty much every year in Whitney. So anyways, other than that, it's been pretty much not a lot. Not a lot new going down here. Radio sites seem to be working well. I gotta make a trip to one of the mountaintops maybe. Maybe take President's Day since I got that day off coming up here, I think the 19th or whatever it is, and go do some work out of one of the hills. But that's about it.
Speaker A: Hey, Ross. All the shit up here good to me, doing my usual routines. And just enjoying life and doing blessed. And you just rolling along. I'm happy.
Speaker B: That's a good place to be. I gotta go. I got a phone call.
Speaker A: Okay, I'm back and one of my managers called me. Had a little bit of a problem on one of our sites. But go figure it out. Anyways. Yeah, I've been.
Speaker B: I've been doing a little bit of
Speaker A: stuff on HF myself. Not as much as usual. It's been really busy at work and I've been kind of tired. But fans are still really good. Still amazed how well 10 meters is working.
Speaker B: Okay.
Speaker A: I said I haven't been doing as much on HF as I typically have because I've been so busy. But I'm still amazed when I can play around how well 10 meters is working.
Speaker B: Yeah, the fans have been really good. I guess Ken has just been crazy this week. One day I heard that I haven't had a chance to go partake of it. But yeah, so it's been good. I have no complaints. You know, it's been, you know, the bands come and go each day, but it's just the right time. Sometimes not open all day, but I get on three or 15 in the afternoon. But yeah, we've been joined 15 this year because many years it still sells.
Speaker A: Yeah, but I get a. When I'm getting a kick out of it, I don't mess with it. I get these. These. You probably get them too, these digital QSL cards people sending. I'm like, what the heck? Just getting inundated by them. Kind of funny. I guess they actually have these applications. A lot of these guys are FCA guys. I guess somehow it's tied into their logging software to whenever they make a contact that automatically emails out a QSL card,
Speaker B: You know, I don't get any and that's good. I can't see them. So maybe I wouldn't, you know, be so great. But I. Before I'd give it up to my site going back 2000, I'd give it up. I've been in a dual stock light cutting business. Actually I was in trimming for 30 years and print shops and all in the headphone business the last 10 years of it. And there's been more and more CSL cars may not have a site products besides the business stuff and growing and finding. Having a website for my QSO card commissioner QSO cards. So I just. It makes it hard for me to really get in the G. I think. Yeah, I know. I don't see it in qso more.
Speaker A: Yeah, I'll do them every now and again for boys contracts I don't do for the FTA stuff. I get a lot of stuff through the bureau from Japan and Europe and stuff like that. I don't do any of that. Okay, Larry, I'll let you go. I'm just pulling into my first stop here, and I gotta head to the base, meet with some guys about some new projects we have going on. So I'll talk to you later. Thanks for the shout. Good to hear you. N7TND, Las Vegas.
