This is kilo juliet 7 echo tango xk87tx. Can somebody give me a radio check please? You sound great. Good audio and good signal. N6K and E. Hey, thanks for that. Once Again, this is KT70TX. Could you request an early check in for me? I guess I'm not connected to what I thought I was connected to. What? What check in are you looking for? Okay, yeah, starting in about eight minutes they'll be at Washington County Aries meeting their regular net and so I'll hang out and see somebody's on frequency there's going to be joining them. Okay, yeah, I must not be connected to what I thought I was connected to. Okay, well maybe it's me. Hey, thanks anyway. Okay, thanks for radio check. Yeah, you're welcome. N6k in here, Los Angeles link up. Okay, I am connected to where I thought I was connected to. That must be a Las Vegas net. Hello, Ken, I was going to confirm that for you, but you figured it out. WB6JKV, just in the background. System 19 link up. Yeah, well, some funny things happened. I forgot I put my laptop in airplane mode so it wasn't showing me keying up on any of the carless stuff. It wasn't showing me keying up anywhere, so I didn't, I didn't know where I was connected to. I finally figured out I needed to push my, my airplane mode button and voila, here I am. How are you doing? Recovering. I just ended up having to change my tire and got a low pressure alert as I was getting on 101 in San Jose and I didn't pay any attention. I figured my sensor is going south on me and I had to replace one already. But long story short, by the time I got up the road a ways it was down to like £1918 and I could feel it was handling a little funny in the ass end, so. So sure enough, right rear man had a big old fat screw in it and I could actually hear the air hissing. So anyway, yep, got off freeway, changed my tire and I'm headed home. I would have to say the weirdest thing I ever saw poking a hole into a tire was a, believe it or not, a 10 millimeter wrench, not a socket, a wrench poked a hole in this tire and was just barely sticking out through the tread, making a clicking noise every time one around a corner or anyways. Yep, went to the tire shop and sure enough, some poor son of a mother lost his 10 millimeter wrench into my tire. Let me guess, it was in your rear tire, right? I mean, you hit it with the. Right. Flipped it up and then the next inevitable thing happened. Grabbed it with the rear tire and there you go. Well, luckily it was the. Yeah, it was. It was the rear tire and. Yeah. Yeah, I knew I hit something and I heard the clicking and the kicking and the. Yeah, I was able to get off the freeway and voila. There was a. An old pep boy service center and. Yeah, so they were able to actually fix it for me. Plugged it and patched it. I was swinging my 76 station. It's just down the hill from my house and gonna go drop it off and see if they can do their magic. You know what this thing looks like? A 10 millimeter bolt. You know, the kind they use on air conditioning ducting up on the roof. You know, a big old, you know, like a flat, like a washer, you know, built in. And a big rubber, I guess gasket or rubber seal or something. But. Yep, sticking right out of the tire. Man, it's funny, it looks beef. Got AC people replacing some air conditioning at work, so. Yeah, I guess some of the folks got away during the disassembly and deconstruct progress. Anyways. All right, drop it in the Pacific over to 32 WD60 mobile. All right, good to hear you. You. You be safe. Good luck on all that. Was on a local. Maybe it'll work better this way. I can switch over to 32. Catch you later. And system 32 link box.

Speaker A: And 6 GRZ system torch 5 link. November 6th. Golfing above. Get ready.
Speaker B: Hey Mike, what's cooking M6 knee here.
Speaker A: Hey Ken. I'm on a portable with about a three or four foot antenna on top of it. Walking along
Speaker B: and getting into sounds like
Speaker A: in the system 25. Pretty good and kind of windy here.
Speaker B: Sunny.
Speaker A: Supposed to have sunny and dry. It'll dry every everything out. That's typical. Then we'll be into forest fire time probably by the end of this dry period. Maybe we'll get a little more rain. I hope and thank you, rg.
Speaker B: Oh, okay.
Speaker A: I'm just sitting here.
Speaker B: Studying. I guess
Speaker A: I
Speaker B: took on a little adventure. Whether it be temporary or long term, I'm not sure yet. I have become a admin or administrator agent. They call it allstarlink.org so at this time all I'm doing is just responding to help desk questions and concerns. Yeah, kind of, I don't know, kind of, kind of fun. Gives me something to do. I don't have all the answers, but I have a lot of resources and canned messages as they call it, to respond back to somebody with.
Speaker A: Well, yeah, yeah. So you'll need to become even more versed in All Star technology than you are now. I've been looking at and thinking about getting involved with the thing that's going to happen in May and if you wanted to look it up, because it's quite amazing. If you wanted to look it up. It's called the Lemurian Race. Lemurian, kind of like the supposed
Speaker B: mythical
Speaker A: little creatures that they say were running around Mount Shasta. It was named after. After those. And it's a bike race. Have you heard of it?
Speaker B: I have. It's Womerian, isn't it? L E M. I think it's U U R I A N. Is that correct? The Lemurian classic. Yeah, the 20, I think. Yeah. I think they're having a big race for 2026 in Reading. I have heard of it.
Speaker A: Yeah.
Speaker B: Good stuff. In fact, I think the scariest was going to help them out one year with communication.
Speaker A: But
Speaker B: something happened or something didn't happen. I don't remember.
Speaker A: Well, one year we had one year. Chastebali was the primary repeater. And then Chaste Bali started having trouble, having various problems. And when it started having problems, they had to come up with some other communication plan. I, I don't know if Chef Folly will, you know, whether they'll ever use Chef Folly again. I don't know. But the year that they did use it, it Was perfect. It was absolutely perfect. It worked great. And that was back before the generator started trying. They started trying to make the generator work, and that's when Jesse Volley started having trouble. But anyway, yeah, I haven't seen her as the generator come back on for a while. Maybe they stopped trying to make it work. You know, they were never able to figure out the problem it had. And so, yeah, the Lemurian race is on. And it turns out it's only like a couple miles away from me. Part of it. One part of the track is only a couple miles away from me. I just looked it up.
Speaker B: Yeah. Pearl and expert. 28 miles for it. 17 miles short sport. 9.5 miles, beginner. That's me. 5 miles. Sweating. Recreation area. Yeah. You're close to that, aren't you? All right, well, cool. Yeah, I missed. I miss volunteering my time doing those bike races and the running races up there in the Shasta and Yreka area. Yeah, those are fun. I always enjoy doing those.
Speaker A: Yeah. And I'm not sure how they communicate nowadays. They may have decided to try to put a mountain. Put a repeater up, a temporary repeater up on Mule Mountain. Because this race travels right around the slopes of Mule Old Mountain. That's why it's not just 26 miles on flat ground. It extremely steep and stuff. Like, some of the guys were coming down some of these hills and crashing, needing areas of help. So if you. If you can look at that site close enough, you'll find. Eventually find a map. And the map is what I call a flatlanders map. It makes it look like it's all flat and it's definitely not flat.
Speaker B: Yeah, I just clicked on the courses. Expert Pro Course, 28 miles, 3,850ft. Okay, there's a map. Wow. Wow, that's a hell of a map. Okay. Yeah, I found the map.
Speaker A: You want me to forward this to
Speaker B: you, this map stuff? Yeah. Good information.
Speaker A: Yeah. Now, someplace in that description, if they were to also add a thing that we used. I used it a lot when I was hiking, turning up trails, a thing called the elevation change. That's where you would get an idea of what the race is involved with. An elevation change. 28 miles on flat ground is nothing for those bike riders. But this is definitely not flat ground. You saw it on Google Earth. You'd be absolutely astounded by what you see. But they'd have to have a couple things going. They'd have to have a Google Map interface, and they'd have to have a Google Earth interface to make it possible to see this trail from the elevation perspective. There's the guy. Guy that I. I'm going to make a call down to the local ham radio shop up here called Retco. I know it's called. Or what's it called anyway, the local ham radio shop that's run by Bill. I'm gonna. He's probably listening and I'm gonna give him a call and see if there is a Google Earth interface, because if there is one, then you'll be able to see the elevation changes.
Speaker B: Oh, yeah, these bike race guys and even running racing guys, they always put up a nice graph of the climbs and descents throughout the course. I don't see one here at the moment, but. All right, well, good. Yeah. All right, things a little scratchy here. I'm going to get back to what I was doing. I just didn't want to leave you hanging there, but yeah, so I sent you that on signal and this other stuff here you probably don't need. But anyways, yeah, go check that out. Okay, Mike, I'll talk to you later. And I will be listening certainly for your final. And I'm gonna get back to what I was doing here.
Speaker A: There's a whole lot of nothing, but it is something.
Speaker B: Talk to you later. N6 KNE, Genalta, Columbia
Speaker A: all right, Ken. Yeah, thanks for sending that. Actually, I had it on my cell phone because that's how I'm able to tell you about this race to update the 26 version to make sure that they're still doing what they did before. And I'm walking up to a bluebird nest. What's going on with the bluebird stage? Found a blue bird nest in an oak tree. In a hole in an oak tree. And also, like I say, if I find the interface to Google Earth, I will send it to you because I know you're astounded by the map you see, but if you saw interface on top of Google Earth, you would say, no, it can't do that. There's no way they can do that because it's just absolutely nuts what those races are doing. All right, talk to you later. Don't study too long, too hard and give your beautiful wife small kinds of attention, even though you're an administrator now and mixed GRT calculator.

Speaker A: And 6 grg system 25.
Speaker B: Well System 25, you've got a pretty good buzz on your signal.
Speaker A: KK6WLD mobile, this is 31
Speaker B: Los Angeles link up.
Speaker A: Okay, that, that buzz is from a 10,000 watt transmitter in a case that is. It's in a case right next to, in a rack as they say, right next to our repeater rack. And when the SWR goes up a little bit on that step down the stat, it does what you're hearing. There is a fix for us. For us there's a fix that eventually will have to be put in place to get rid of the hump and fix drg. No problem. Okey dokey. Just wanted to let you know that it's pretty loud. It's almost as loud as your audio. So it's pretty, pretty hard to make out your what you're saying at the moment.
Speaker B: Yeah, there is a way for me to get
Speaker A: away from that noise by going into a different repeater. One of them is about 100 miles south of me and I'm on a portable. But I'm going to try that right now. Well, no second thought, I won't try that because this is a small portable and I don't have it programmed into it. I won't be trying anything right at this moment. But yes, it's a known problem. It's a hum that comes from a FM transmitter called Q97. High power. High power transmitter 10,000 with maybe 100kW RP ERT. It.

Speaker A: It. Grg system 36. Yeah, that was that picket fencing was on system 20.
Speaker B: Oh.
Speaker A: Yeah. And I'm now on system 36 on a portable with a really long antenna.
Speaker B: What are you testing?
Speaker A: It's called the Quan Shang portable with a really long antenna called Abre A B V R E E.
Speaker B: Is that one of those antennas you can tie into a knot?
Speaker A: Well, it does fit.
Speaker B: Is it quarter or halfway?
Speaker A: I say it's at least a full wave on 2 meters.
Speaker B: That's long.
Speaker A: Yep, It's a very special antenna. Look it up. A P P R E E.
Speaker B: Can it be purchased domestically?
Speaker A: Yes, but I don't know how many connector bases are available for it. This one has an SMA that works
Speaker B: on
Speaker A: Chinese portables and that sort of thing.
Speaker B: Does Steve know about it?
Speaker A: You know, I don't know if he does or not. Well, he's heard me use it before but I don't know if he's ever really looked at it that close.
Speaker B: I don't know if he even owns any portables.
Speaker A: Oh yeah, he uses portables into 36 sometimes. I'm going on 36, but I'm way up in writing right now.
Speaker B: There is one repeater up there. He said, I guess it's a Blake head that's only on 6 watts. Why is that?
Speaker A: Because the power amplifier fried and I was able to get it to. To put out 6 watts before I left. That's as much as. That's as far as it's gotten. I asked for another for it and they said no. They gave me a reason. I wasn't. I'm not even gonna repeat. It was ridiculous.
Speaker B: So not a high priority for them.
Speaker A: Well, since you put out that, I will repeat what you said. That's exactly what they said.
Speaker B: Well, I guess they're not getting enough contribution. So I can't blame them. And instead of somewhat of a remote area compared to, you know, they're maintaining everything in the Bay Area, but they're weak in Southern California. I know that
Speaker A: that repeater up on there's a new link now going right directly to Santiago Peak and that's a high powered repeater. I'm pretty sure
Speaker B: what number. That's Good news.
Speaker A: System 31. It's looking down over Los Angeles and San Diego.
Speaker B: Yeah, when I was down in Southern California I would use the wind system but I don't like it because you're so local when you get on goes everywhere like link, everything is linked.
Speaker A: Yeah, the people that are down in Los Angeles aren't really up too much on how Santiago System 31 works and how Carla works because it didn't work for a long, long time. And so they know now they know how it works now they're learning.
Speaker B: Not maintained by Tom or some of the guys up here.
Speaker A: Oh yeah it is, but
Speaker B: didn't work
Speaker A: for years very well because it had to go through a whole bunch of different repeaters to make it there. It had to go through five repeater Peters to make it to Los Angeles.
Speaker B: It looks like Breckenridge or whatever these are Bakersfield.
Speaker A: No, it actually went along the coast. It went first to 19, then it went to four and then it went to. I think from there it went to 29 and then it went to 30 and then it went to 31.
Speaker B: Does it still do that or are they using the Internet now?
Speaker A: It's all star. It's got an all star link. And I think Tom had to drive down there to hook it up.
Speaker B: Well, the next time I'm down there, I'm gonna have to check it out.
Speaker A: Yeah. And you know, I don't know if you're aware, but for years ham radio in Los Angeles, especially on VHF has been kind of a touchy thing and all the two meter repeaters were being constantly interfered with by intentionally by non am so. They. Oh, they may not want it to be put out to everyone down there that it's there. It is a UHF repeater down there though.
Speaker B: Is it on the car? Yeah, Carver side? It's on 31. That's on the Carver side, right?
Speaker A: No, it's top secret. No, just kidding. Yeah, it's on Carloradio Nev.
Speaker B: When I've been down there with my rig and it's been a few years, but it's always been a mess. It doesn't matter whether it's UHF or vhf, it's just almost a disaster down there. They don't have a functional NARCC like we do. You know, a directory of your fingers.
Speaker A: Well, like I say, part of the problem was intentional interference.
Speaker B: Yeah. And I remember years ago that maybe they still have it. When wind system had a jammer, they suspected the jammer was in Southern California. Isn't that interesting?
Speaker A: Yeah, it was. I lived in, in Humboldt county and even found out about the interference in Los Angeles. But when I made it to Redding, I heard quite a bit about it. It was a big deal.
Speaker B: I don't listen to the wind system anymore. I did when I was living in the Bay Area. Is it still active? I mean, do they still have the camera or is it better now.
Speaker A: Yeah. I. Way back before I knew anything about Carla, I used to listen to it when I first arrived in Reading. But. And it was still active in, in the Reading area. There was an active repeater. I don't think there's an active repeater in Reading now.
Speaker B: Interesting because they are still listed on the NARCC site as being in Reading. I guess that has to be updated.
Speaker A: Oh, the NARCC site is the worst. Got the worst update situation going of any ham radio site out there.
Speaker B: You got that right. And still saw the west coast automatically updates every five minutes. I don't know what that means, but it's got so many inaccuracies in there. And I guess I don't know whether the repeater book draws off that or not.
Speaker A: Well, a repeater like. Like the one we're talking about, a system like the one we're talking about about is going to be out of date lot because every, every wind repeater is privately owned.
Speaker B: Yeah. I thought what's his name?
Speaker A: Jeff.
Speaker B: Own most of them. But I'm not sure that's true anymore.
Speaker A: I remember one when repeater was. Over. Over on a highway called the 199 way over on the coast and it was owned by a guy named Shorty. Do you remember hearing about that?
Speaker B: Yeah. Shorty is Jeff. Yeah.
Speaker A: And that repeater, his primary repeater was up in the mountains around the 199 someplace. He lived near Gascon.
Speaker B: Where is that? I thought they lived by Smith River.
Speaker A: Well, Smith river is a river, not a town. And Gatsby is a little town on the Smith River.
Speaker B: Okay, got it.
Speaker A: And I used to kayak the Smith River. It's a wild and crazy place to kayak, I tell you.
Speaker B: Did you have an HT that was waterproof or nothing?
Speaker A: I didn't even know there was any ham radio around there. Some of the parts of the Smith river, there's no one repeater that would cover it all because it's three different forks and. And the main fork would be the easiest one to cover. And I think that's the one that his repeater might cover. But I don't know exactly where his repeater was. Might have been way. There's a road that go. That used to be where Highway 101 went.
Speaker B: Sometimes they leave those roads open, sometimes not.
Speaker A: And that repeater, if we put a repeater up on that mountain, it would cover the main fork of the Smith river. The middle fork or the main fork, whatever you want to call it.
Speaker B: What do they do for Power up there, if they're on these mountains. Is it solar?
Speaker A: Yeah, it would have to be solar.
Speaker B: Is Bella Vista working operationally? Are you still having issues with the transfer switch?
Speaker A: You mean Bali?
Speaker B: Yeah, Bali.
Speaker A: Right now it's working. I think what they've done is shut down the generator because when the power went out, it went on battery and it didn't try to switch to the generator. I think if they were running the generator, it would wipe out the repeater. If they haven't fixed it,
Speaker B: you know, it sounds like they have a defective transfer switch.
Speaker A: Well, it's not a defective transfer, which is a defective electrician that hooked it up.
Speaker B: I hooked one of those up with a licensed electrician friend of mine whose license I used to work under. He was six and I was five and six. I don't know how you can screw up a transfer switch. You set one up because the church was a Red Cross disaster center for people to sleep and. Or just meat if they weren't sleeping.
Speaker A: Well, that one definitely screwed up. No doubt about it.
Speaker B: He.
Speaker A: Whoever put that in, I truly believe. That's my belief. I. You know, when we. When I used to go up there, I always thought about trying to figure out what was wrong with it and what was done wrong. But you'd have to have the book for the transfer switch. I didn't have that and I'm not qualify. Theoretically not a qualified transfer switch technician. So, yeah, so much for that.
Speaker B: And I will qualify. And ours was a manual transfer switch. If the power went out, he and I lived so close. I was like 21 10th miles away. We would go manually, turn it on. That's if I wasn't at work full time. I was in outside sales sometimes. I could be down the peninsula. He always worked locally as an electrician. He always stayed mostly in Marin.
Speaker A: I just, I'm just. I'm walking in a neighborhood that near my neighborhood and I just saw a sign that got hit. Can't believe it that somebody would hit that sign. It's drunk as a skunk to hit that sign. I don't know what to think about that. But that sign has definitely been hit anyway. Yeah, it's amazing how well this. This system is working with this antenna I've got. You wouldn't believe this antenna if you saw it.
Speaker B: Yeah, I've heard some wind noise up there, so I know you're outside. The dog must not be yours because I don't hear the dog anymore. You must have walked past it.
Speaker A: If I didn't make it on that transmission. I was in a bad spot. But yeah, a guy came out of his driveway, owns a logging company who has a really gnarly looking truck and my dog didn't know what to think.
Speaker B: Oh, you're walking your dog? I thought it was his dog.
Speaker A: Nope, he's walking right next to me. His name is Rudy.
Speaker B: You could strap a quarter wave and pen on his back while he's walking with you. And then you wouldn't have to carried if you had a bag mount.
Speaker A: Well, you know, I'm thinking about putting a quarter wave antenna on my E bike and putting a, you know, 10 or 15 watt radio on that E bike because I'm all over the place with that E bike. I like to have radio everywhere.
Speaker B: How are the roads out there? I mean, I know you kind of live in a remote area. In the remote areas here the roads are terrible.
Speaker A: Some of them are kind of steep. I go up a hill to my west, but very, not a very steep hill. And then I go. When I make it to Clear Creek Road, there's some very hilly roads and I have to use some pedal power to help.

Speaker A: Get up those.
Speaker B: Well, at least when you're wherever you are, if there's potholes, you're going slow enough to see them so you can
Speaker A: avoid them on a bike. Well, speaking of potholes, I was at this bl. It's like a BLM horse dog park place where, you know, you can park horse trailers there and take your horse out and ride all over this area. People walk with their dogs there and stuff. And I was talking to him because there's been a problem there. Some guys are getting close to doing some damage and they're pushing rocks around so they can go drive their four wheel drive where they're not supposed to be. And then the other day I actually was able to talk to the guy and that's how I found out, you know, he was asking me, well, do you know who moved that rock? And blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I didn't know and I might have to help him find out.
Speaker B: But
Speaker A: he told me that regardless of what the county is saying, that I can ride my E bike on all those trails and it's perfectly okay. And he's a bl. He was a BLM ranger, so he says it's okay with me. You're legal.
Speaker B: Well, you know, that's interesting. Since E bikes came into existence, I used to, when I was a transit driver, I would terminate at the main headquarters for the. What is it, the Golden Gate? No, it was the Point Reyes National Recreation Area out at Point Reyes. And that there was bikes? No, there wasn't mountain bikes. I think mountain bikes were prohibited. There was horses and pedestrians. And I think that was it on the Bear Valley Trail that went from there to the ocean.
Speaker A: Well, what I was going by in this area was there's signs that say bikes, horses, dogs, people, all okay. And then below it, it shows a motorbike with a motor, a car or truck, not okay. So I thought, well, you know, that means they. I think that means ATVs aren't okay and motorcycles aren't okay. Well, technically the state considers my bike to be a bicycle. My E bike is licensed as a bicyc and you don't have to have a license to drive it. You don't have to. You can drive on anywhere. You can ride a bicycle. You can ride this thing. And I thought, well, with that sign, maybe they don't include it. Well, they do include it. It turns out.

Okay, final. I found a way to communicate. I'm on system 25 links. My radio that was transmitting into 36 has failed. System 20 is motorboating. That's why the beep beep beep is happening. And 25 has some hump, but I'm just barely able to make it over the hump. N6 GRT system 25 length. I'm still on local, but you have a nasty hump on 20.

Speaker A: System25 has the hump from the FM transmitter. Can you hear myself? I can hear the hump. Hear myself on 36. The radio I was using for 36, the battery went down to nothing, so I can't reach 36 now. Reach 36 now. System 20 as a motorboat, like the motorboard. That's where that comes from. And this drc,
Speaker B: Well, I'm on 36, but not on link. I don't know if you can still hear me. I can't reach. Bernie, It.

Mike. The radio. The radio that I can hear you on, it's constantly saying low voltage, constantly telling me it's got low voltage, and if the voltage is so low, it won't transmit. So that's what happened to me. All of a sudden I could not transmit. I can hear you, but not transmitting anything. K i6u jx I suppose you're hearing me from 36 then, because I can't reach the others.

And I was going to try to transmit to you. I don't know if I'm coming in. Very well. We're going to try to transmit to you on system 20, which doesn't have the hub and no way, it would not allow me to transmit on 20. 20 just gives you a beep, beep, beep, beep. That's all you can get. That's two different radios. So it's not the radio, it's the repeater. All right, I'll be turning in the report.

System26 link up.

Speaker A: And 6K at easy
Speaker B: listening to a whole lot of nothing.
Speaker A: Sorry.
Speaker B: We'll refund your money shortly.
Speaker A: Are you down there? Can and six 72.
Speaker B: I don't believe that for a second. I. I've tried the refund department there at California Amateur Radio Linking association and. And it did nothing for me.
Speaker C: So.
Speaker B: Yeah, promises, promises. Hey, Tom, how you doing?
Speaker A: Wait a minute. We have a refund department. Maybe that's the problem, you know, you thought you got the refund department. I'm doing okay. How are you?
Speaker B: I'm doing very well.
Speaker C: Very well.
Speaker B: Kind of been taking a little bit of a break with. For some of my personal stuff here, which is all good. And then I decided to become a
Speaker C: Administrator
Speaker B: for all Starlink.org so there you go. I approve and disapprove of All Star note. And I've got surprisingly, surprisingly because I was surprised. I've got surprisingly power at my fingertips and I certainly wasn't expecting that. But anyways, it's all cool. I'm learning a lot. Hopefully stuff that will help help answer some questions that we're having with.
Speaker C: With.
Speaker A: Okay. Well, you know, a word to the wise, vengeance and retribution is not a pretty thing. And you know, don't get yourself into a conflict of interest predicament or anything like that. Not that you would, of course, but I think I know where this could be going or you know, what we're talking about and possibilities. I could be wrong, but does make you chuckle, doesn't it?
Speaker B: Tom, you've got me pegged. You are exactly right in your assumption of what I was talking about and you weren't even assuming. You read between the lines.
Speaker A: And
Speaker B: that's funny. And you're absolutely right what you're thinking I would never do. But I could do. I could do it. I could just do it. And I wouldn't. But I could.
Speaker C: Anyway,
Speaker B: enough of that.
Speaker C: I don't know who's listening.
Speaker A: I was going to say be careful what you say or right to be held against you in a court of law. But yeah, it would be a beautiful thing as saying goes. Maybe you can be bought. Who knows. Oh, man. Oh, well, I'm sure you'll. You'll conduct yourself with the utmost integrity because that's who you are. And I do mean that with all. So. All right. Well now. Now that I'm done stroking your ego. Anyhow. Yeah, it's a beautiful day over here in the neighborhood. Hopefully it's nice over there and I'm in the parking lot here, so I was actually going to jump Out. But I just wanted to, you know, say hello. Let you know that there was somebody listening out here. And there is no such thing as refund department. So let's not spread fake news, please.
Speaker C: All right?
Speaker B: I only thought there was a refund department because you told me there was a refund department.
Speaker A: Okay?
Speaker B: You enjoy your parking lot, lot and whatever. Whatever storefronts it involves. And I will be listening.
Speaker A: N6 knees Columbia. System2linkop.
Speaker C: Congratulations, Ken. That was Chronicle. I could even understand what that was all about. Good afternoon. C7GMD. I just got home from parking lot duty myself.
Speaker B: Larry. Anybody who has ever heard my ranting would know exactly what I was talking about. And there are definitely a small handful of folks on the Carla system here that would absolutely understand what I'm talking about. Anyways, I am not that kind of a person and I would never do that.
Speaker C: But. But.
Speaker B: In a very dark way, it's very satisfying and gratifying to know that I could do it, but I wouldn't. How are you doing?
Speaker C: I am fine. I agree with. Honey, you are a man of integrity. If I trusted you about every last word in my life. Doing fine, been fine, been a good day, had a couple of errands, Dr. Vision, all that kind of stuff. And just so all is good here. Life is good. All right.
Speaker B: And don't think that I haven't. Don't think that I have forgotten about you. I think. Think that some of your. Some of your stuff. We just need to go in and start over. The first round was a learning experience and the second round will definitely be better. So we need to fix a couple of your items. I was about to say that it
Speaker C: would be nice if get yourself another
Speaker B: laptop, but I don't think your laptop is the problem. I think.
Speaker C: I think it was.
Speaker B: I think it is me.
Speaker C: There's something going on with your stuff
Speaker B: that I don't understand. But slowly but surely, I'm sure it'll ring a bell in my head and
Speaker C: I will completely understand it. Well, it could be this Think Tab wannabe, but you know, it's okay. No, I know you haven't forgotten. Someone keep calling me on the phone so you could get me better answer to see who it is.
Speaker B: Okay.
Speaker A: Good to hear you.
Speaker B: I'll go back to my video here. Poculator ends 60.

Speaker A: I missed your call sign, but that's okay.
Speaker B: How you doing, Ken here, M6 kne. I'm sorry, I had to walk over and close my. My door here. I just turned on a little music for the pretty little woman. I apologize. What did you ask me?
Speaker C: No worries. Seems like a nice afternoon. I was just wondering if you were also on 1316, the vacuum, or if I'm connecting to you through a different day.
Speaker B: No, I'm coming in on the link. I'm coming in via All Star and believe it or not, I'm down here in Chinatown, Columbia, Columbia, South America.
Speaker C: Oh, very cool. Yeah, I've only recently started working out digital modes and playing around with DMR a little bit. Just working this computer analog in my car. Finally got the DHU up and running in my vehicle. It's a good time. Things are going well for you down south?
Speaker B: Yeah, everything's nice down here.
Speaker C: We got some thunder off in the
Speaker B: distance, some tropical storms. Sounds like they're blowing around us, not over us. I've got a bunch of plants hanging or off the hangers laying out in the yard hoping. Hoping it's going to rain so I don't have to go out there and water everything. But yeah, I may have to. I may have to go out there
Speaker C: and water the stuff.
Speaker B: So I apologize.
Speaker C: I would like to look yet you
Speaker B: said KO6 and then. What's the rest of your call sign?
Speaker C: This is Kilo Oscar Kilo Lima Delta klt. My name here is Luca. I'm a relatively new hemp team working with my general right now, so just learning the ropes and having fun on some local repeaters.
Speaker B: Okay. I believe I. I may have talked to you before.
Speaker C: You.
Speaker B: You sound
Speaker C: familiar.
Speaker B: Okay, Yeah, I just looked you up, Luca. Yeah, you know, I. After looking at this, I. I think I may have looked you up before or talked to you before. Dan Leandro. Yeah, I used to. To drive for a trucking company. 11 Western states. Used to spend quite a bit of time there in San Leandro at the FXI or the FOMEX company there. I think they're gone now.
Speaker C: But
Speaker B: yeah, I know Stan Leandro very well and I have to say I don't miss it.
Speaker C: Yeah, I'm in the process of getting ready to move down into the Santa Cruz Mountains. So I won't miss it either. I'm looking forward to being a little bit out of the city away, especially to now to Columbia, trying to make a better place. But. Yeah,
Speaker B: I didn't mean to say anything negative about your home city. There, but just the places that I had to. That I had to go into. Yeah. Especially if I had to spend enough out on the street in the sleeper of a truck, which is perfectly safe. But sometimes it would be a little noisy with racing and, you know, all that stuff that happens down there. All right. Yeah. Down here. Yeah. I'm 61 years old, and I'm blessed, and I've been able to retire a little bit early. And the wife and I, we retired down here to Columbia because she's from Columbia. We retired down here a little over a year ago. And we have. We have one season, basically. Not like. Not like you. You guys there in California house. I'm a transplant from Northern California, so I definitely had all four seasons. All right, Luca, good to hear you again. I know for sure I've talked to you before. Good to hear you again. And take care there in San Leandro. I'm assuming you're maybe going home for the. For the night or going to work for the night.
Speaker C: I'm actually transmitting. I'm transmitting up in Folsom, California, at the moment. I'm visiting my girlfriend's parents up here. Homer's Johnny Cash song, Folsom Prison. So I'm transmitting on a repeated effect here close to South Lake Tahoe and back to Villain, switching back and forth, seeing which one works best for us on the car windows. Right. Now that. Speaking of four seasons, they had 10ft of snow up here in Bolton recently in like three days. And then it all melted when it started raining, which is really strange. Winter early spring storm phenomenon. So now it's 70 degrees and sunny. But three weeks ago, you had come up here, it would have been pretty snowy. But it sounds like you're aiming for your next phase of your. Okay.
Speaker B: All right. Yeah. And if. If you're not aware of it, Inject Sky Warner alerts. So they're weather alerts, earthquake alerts. That's. And stuff. So you may have heard some of that. Yeah. I've been monitoring the Tahoe area, and I was. We all know about the avalanche that
Speaker C: took the lives of.
Speaker B: But eight people for sure. Right. Okay, Luca, you take care and good talking to you.
Speaker A: All right. If you mean Tahoe or say Tahoe, and I misunderstood.
Speaker C: I should have been more specific. There was like 10 foot of snow up in Pollock Pine, but not too far from here, but not.
Speaker A: That's a lot of snow, man. That's something that you, you know, see up. Up in that and on top of the Sierras. So, sure, we have some snow covered antennas up there and hopefully they're still working and not broken from high winds and ice loading and all that. So anyway. All right, thanks. Just wanted to clarify that because it didn't sound quite right, but anyhow. All right, have a good day. That'll be a beautiful one out here today. And six, McGuire.
