Testing. Repeater connection. Radio check. Queue off to 6 Eminence. System 10 link up. You sound just fine. N6k, eddy.
Did I make it? Radio check. You sound just fine. N6k. N. You know, you probably pissed the guy off. He's too slow. Oh, I'm not the gentleman. Okay. All right, I'll be listening. In case I could see an an6iwhere. Let me change my device. Give me one second. Changing device standing by. Okay, I changed my device. What's cooking? I have a question about trucking. I've heard that you're a driver. I was. Now retired. Okay, I do have a question about the trailers. The wet trailers haul liquid. I've heard and read this. Just floshing. The real problem. Guys go around the corner and, you know, whatever it is, the oil starts floshing back and forth. Pretty soon they're upside down. Right. High, high. What do they do to prevent that? And then what do they do about mil? Well, chemical trainers are baffled, so that's usually not a problem. And they usually have compartments. They'll have three or four individual compartments or tanks. Milk it can't be baffled because it's too difficult to clean in and around the baffle. They'll milk. They just, you know that the tank is designed to be a specific size to hold the. The exact gallons so it doesn't slosh. So, yeah, milk. Milk haulers, those tanks are usually. Usually full beyond 90%. Chemical traders cannot be older than 90%. Well, what about chemical trailers? How do they clean them? Just spray it out or what? There was a double with you there. Would you say about chemical traders, do they clean that? Do they clean them? Only when they need to. Most chemical trailers only haul, you know, one kind of a chemical, like acetones or paints or things like that. Petroleum. You can. You can load. You could load diesel on top of gasoline or vice versa. You just have to drain dry. Yeah, they only clean chemical trailers when they need to use a trailer to haul a different product. Other than that, they're usually hauling the same product from one load to another. Okay, well, what about milk? It's got to be pasteurized. All right? And then how do they clean that tank? Pasteurization usually doesn't happen until later in the process. No, truck, that milk is usually not pasteurized. That's generally raw milk from the farmer to the processor. Wow, raw milk. Hey, back when I was a hippie, hey, I, you know, there's some hippies that look like me, I guess, I don't know, put stuff. Raw milk was a desirable thing. Everybody's going, hey, wow, raw milk. Chug, chug. Yeah, I live down here in Colombia Now. And yeah, we can buy raw milk. We can buy extra pasteurized milk, which is shelf safe. So when you go to the market, you buy these bags of milk that are sitting on the shelf and not in a refrigerator. I'll tell you what, it's fantastic milk. Just bring it home, put it in your refrigerator and, you know, drink it when it's cold. Or you can go to any dairy farmer here and buy raw milk and take it home and pasteurize it yourself, make it into cheeses or whatever, whatever you want. Oh, wow, that's interesting. Can you do that with a goat? I've heard of goat cheese being really good for you. Yes, sir. Yep, goat milk is very good. I don't normally, excuse me, use it or drink it, but yeah, I'm a simple guy. I'll. I'll just drink regular pasteurized milk. Yeah, that's what we've got here. Hey, just off the note a little bit, what's the economy like down there? Is it like sky high, stupid for groceries? No, I would say definitely not. I can go to the market and stock up, you know, two weeks worth of food, meats and chickens, you know, everything, Everything. I need a completely full cart, sometimes a carton a half and walk out of the front door with, you know, 400American dollars. You try to do that there in the speech and it's going to be a thousand dollar bill. Well, how did you do this? Are you a citizen of Columbia? Are you a wife or are you just visiting? Oh, green card. How does that work? My wife is a dual citizen of both the states in Colombia. And of course, I'm a citizen of the U.S. of the. Of the U.S. and here. Pretty soon I'll have my citizenship down here in Colombia. Do you fit in? Oh, yeah, absolutely. I have no problem with anybody down here. They don't have a problem with me. You know, it's. It's all good. And I've never once since I've been here felt unsafe anywhere or with anybody. We should probably let the system cool down. You know how that goes. And I do need to get back to what I was doing here, but good to hear you. And I'll be listening, you know, like always. N6 knee Ken here. Genalta, Columbia. Yeah. I just want to tell you, you see another person from corny to say, oye, viejo, hola. That means friend. Okay. You don't have to m6iwa. Kenny actually means old man. When I go out walking here in Chico, Mexican guys slow down and they yell, hey, Hurry up at home. Thank you. Enjoy your.
Testing. Repeater connection. Radio check. K06 mmn. System seven, link off.
Speaker A: Thank you for the response back. I just upped the power a little bit. I don't know if that helps. Back to you. K06MMN.
Speaker B: K06M.N M. This is M6Iwhicho an honest chico. Yeah. You've got a good signal. You're strong. I have to say something about the audio, but I'm not an audio technician. I was going to think maybe back off of the mic just a little tiny bit. Other than that, you sound good.
Speaker A: Okay, I'm backed off a little bit. Thank you. And I'm not sure if you put two ends in there. It's K06. Mike. Mike November. Back to you.
Speaker B: Okay. KO6M. Actually, that's a mouthful. Hi. Hi. Yeah, I wish somebody else would kind of come on and give an opinion. It's fine. You're sounding really good. What's your location?
Speaker A: Location is San Jose. This is Ed. I was testing. It's a repeater on the wind system with an uplink zone. So I was just curious if I could hit it. I'm just on a HP5 watts with a twin jim on a pole. Back to you.
Speaker B: Yeah, well, actually, you sound good. Doing great. I used to live in the Bay Area, East Bay, North Oakland, Rockridge area. Went to school called California College of Arts and Crafts, but lived in Berkeley for a while. How about you? Have you been. Are you. Are you from San Jose?
Speaker A: Yeah, I've actually lived here my whole life. San Jose. I mean, I've lived, you know, in a city close by and out of state for a year, but. Yeah, here, here the whole time. Back to you.
Speaker B: Yeah, Roger, Roger. I've been down there in a pretty big city. I've got everything. And I always remember that song. Was it Dionne Warwick? Do you know the Ways to San Jose? I love that song.
Speaker A: Yeah. That's funny. When my kids were little, you know, we made our several Disney trips right to Anaheim, and when they opened up Disney California, that's what they had playing in the. In the courtyard. You know, that had changed after that, but it was that song and that kind of theme, I guess, for the entrance to Disney California back then. Back to you.
Speaker B: I like music, but, you know, what it is about that song seems to evoke some sort of sentimental quality that we have. You know, we all kind of think back of, you know, the old home, you know, the way it was.
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, for sure. I think.
Speaker B: Yeah.
Speaker A: Even if you don't even know where San Jose is, it kind of invokes that kind of exactly that Kind of feeling. Yeah, that's a good observation back to you.
Speaker B: Yeah, but at the same time, you know, I hear a lot of the old rock and roll tune from, you know, when I was younger. Doesn't move me so much, but nice to have sentimental value.
Speaker A: I believe you said you're out there in Chico. Yeah, I've been there once a long time ago when I was young and dumb. Right, everybody? Oh, the party. The college parties in Chico kind of thing. Right. Do you live out in Chico? Correct.
Speaker B: Yeah. Roger, Roger. They call Chico the party town. And you know what's funny is you can't buy alcohol anywhere near the camp. Like, you have to go a couple miles away to get something to drink if you want to drink.
Speaker A: Yeah, that's funny. They, they, you know, they probably know exactly what they're doing with that one, right? They're like, we got to do something.
Speaker B: They probably wanted to ban alcohol or, you know, that's the natural instinct, I believe lawmakers, something's bad, well, ban it, okay? Cigarettes, you know, whatever. They tried to ban all that stuff too, but, you know, I feel sorry for people. You know, it's your last little thing that, you know, you have in the name of pleasure. Okay, you sit back, relax, have a cigarette. I don't smoke myself, but, you know, they tax it so high, it's just stupid. You can't afford a cigarette now.
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, it's like 13, 14 bucks, right? I was listening to these, this talk show host out of Santa Cruz, and they joke around. I guess this one guy, he jokes around about. Well, I guess they put it in. It's a law in Santa Cruz where no filters in the cigarettes. So I guess now all the kids have to Pall Malls and non silver Camels. Back to you.
Speaker B: Oh, life is tough. I know a guy buying pipe tobacco, which is in a different tax category, and he rolls his own, he's got this little machine and puts the tobacco in and, hey, you know, saving a lot of money. I do have to mention one thing here. KO 6mmn and 6iwa. Persons who own the machine, stuff like that, they always come on and say, you know, keep it short, emergencies only. Da, da, da da. You're bringing up all these linking systems and you know, I don't know. I don't know what's going on, but we all kind of say, okay, well, we'll try. Now, me, I'm Mr. Motormouth. But they want you to keep it short because it's bringing up a whole bunch of linking repeaters, some of them are running on batteries and I don't know what else so anyway what do you think we I'm going to take it up another time maybe sometimes you know I I'm awaker night I don't know I can't sleep right so I'm sitting here googling I guess so maybe if you ever out there one o' clock in the morning so anyway Ed good stop at K6mmn and 6 I W Sh I'll be with me.
Speaker A: All right yeah very good talking with you totally understand about the long conversations and draining batteries whatnot thanks for the conversation I believe it was n6 I wh have a great day and yeah I'm up late at night too so I'm sure I'll run into you down the line I'll be clear on your final
Speaker B: oh they say later on down go at you later yeah good talking to you take care.
Speaker A: All right and you as well I can't remember if I put my call sign out there on the on the close kilo Oscar six mike Mike November clear.

Speaker A: Hey, Ralph NR7G mobile.
Speaker B: Hey, man, what you up to?
Speaker A: Oh, I'm just about to get off the road at AM Road. I just drove in from Elko. It's been a long drive. I don't know how many miles it is, but it says it takes six hours and 30 minutes. I'm in a truck, you know, it takes longer. I go a little bit slower. Not only that, but I gotta stop and hit bathroom break and all that kind of stuff. So anyway, I'm just about to get off of AM Road. I jumped in and checked in some Highland Peak a couple times driving down the 93 up there, like north of Hyco, Nevada.
Speaker B: How'd the radio cover up there?
Speaker A: Well, as expected. I mean, you know, it's amazing. Highland Peak's got amazing coverage. And you get down these little valleys, of course, full of shadows. There was one place where I could hear the machine, like F8, F9, but couldn't key it up at all. It just could not get in. But audio was clean and clear and loud. It just couldn't get in. But as soon as I went about a couple miles south and the S meter on the. On this ICOM 4100 didn't look much different, but I could get in. And somebody said I sounded okay, so. Cuts out.
Speaker B: Well, that makes sense. We're on split. In towns up there, we got two station masters. One could receive, one transmit. And the towers are separated by about maybe 75 yards. So that would explain maybe different patterns.
Speaker A: Right.
Speaker B: And then the antennas aren't exactly the same, so the pattern is probably a little bit different.
Speaker A: Well, good, good.
Speaker B: Yeah, I know the. I gotta get up there saying that, but gotta do some tweaking on the bandcast cams. And the audio coming from Highland Assistance is probably about 2dB lower than it should be, but just some minor tweaks, but good. Glad it's working for you sticking around this week and get my mom all set up and I'm ready. Headed down to Papa John getting one of those cake and bake pizza things for movie night tonight.
Speaker A: Oh, Papa John. Papa John or Papa Murphy?
Speaker B: You know, when I unkeyed my microphone, I realized I should have hit Papa Murphy. So, yeah, Papa Murphy's the one over on Craig Road, whatever it is. But, yeah, it's not a bad deal. Every and every time I get on there, Capital One, I got one of these plugins, Google Chrome, that has my Capital One. It's like a Capital One plugin. It technically gives you a discount. It figures it out. So Every time I get in there, I get like a. I get like $6 off. And I get that every now and again on ebay. And I ordered a new phone a while ago through Motorola and I got like a 50% discount on a brand new phone through Motorola Capital One. So it's kind of cool.
Speaker A: Oh, yeah, you can be their spokesman. Oh, very good. Yeah, I like Papa Murphy's. I haven't done it in several months, but we were given kind of regularly for a while. There was one in Centennial, but it closed down, I guess. Lack of. Lack of activity or something like that. So the nearest one for me is up in like, gosh, up on, like, Durango, maybe Durango and grand teton. Durango and 95 up on the north end. Craigs is too far.
Speaker B: So, anyway.
Speaker A: All right, well, I'm almost home, I guess. I put up some surveillance cameras while I was up there on the property. So I get them up on a pole with a motion detector light and couple of Cameras with T Mobile 4G LTE Little cards in them. You know, I got them hooked up to my big 400amp panel, put a dedicated breaker, maybe like a little camera, security camera pole. So kind of cool. Anyway, all right. On yours, sir. 73NR 7G.
Speaker B: All right, man. Yeah, sounds cool. Okay. Yeah. Welcome back and have a good rest of your afternoon. Just a couple of blocks away from getting my. Getting the pizza, so take care. I'm 7pM.

Speaker A: Very good, Larry. I don't really get on my digital MD or whatever it is 380 anymore. I got it there. I should know it or something. I don't use it. How
Speaker C: are
Speaker A: you. How are you connecting it up to Carlos?
Speaker C: Sounds really good. I was looking for a
Speaker A: friend of mine in Rio Vista. Like we finished a music gig over here in San Francisco. Waiting in the car for the drummer who's driving and getting ready to go home. I hope you're doing well up there.
Speaker B: Yeah, doing fine, doing fine. Very routine life which I'm very thankful for and not much has changed since last time we talked this every day and a lot of all star and wildar and so on. Yeah once while I hear your call sign talk on.
Speaker A: Our local VSAR machine down this way has been off the air. I don't know what happened to it but it's been off the air. It should come back up this week I think. Don't know what happened. Anyway, yeah, good to hear you. My dipole and HF has gone really screwy. I don't know. I don't know how to. How to deal with it. I thought maybe one of the poles would fell down. It would be an easy matter of putting the poles putting a new pole up and attaching the wire to it. But everything seems in order so I don't know what to think. Let's get some more local hams are coming through it see what's going on.
Speaker B: Yeah, you know we never know, you know. Rub might have fallen on or whatever so I don't want to hold. Howdy to you. Nice to hear you.
Speaker A: Yeah, you too Larry. You know the drummer just got in the car. So. Very good. Take care. Good to hear you. I see your name on that list all the time actually quite a bit. So have a great evening. Enjoy the rest of it.
Speaker B: Hi Jim. Have a good drive back home. Have a good evening. 73.
