Speaker A: It. Now. There's your troublemaker. Yep, just trying to make trouble.
Speaker B: Carry on, sir. Throw this thing in the charger and call it a night. 73 WB. Good. JJ. Yeah, 33 doesn't seem to be coming back. Trying to figure out what he. Take care, Mike. And excuse me. Oh, I can hit that with my mobile from out in front. 33 Tom's Place up there on the coast. Yep, Done. Actually, if you don't mind, give it a try. I just tried someone to see if it fixed. It didn't seem to work for this end. Yeah, give me a couple of minutes, I'll give you a shout. Yep. Okay.

Speaker A: All right, here we go. Testing, 1, 2. Wb6, jkv through a trace break.
Speaker B: So what's up, dock?
Speaker A: Testing for gamble. Anyways,
Speaker B: Between 33 and 32. Interesting. Yeah, we do.
Speaker C: Working now.
Speaker B: Interesting.
Speaker A: Yeah, it's going that way. And I don't have local programs into my radio here, unfortunately.
Speaker B: And I left my glasses in the
Speaker A: house, and I can't see the damn displays.
Speaker B: Change it.
Speaker A: My God.
Speaker B: So which way is it going? Over.
Speaker A: Oh, I think I'm hearing you on 32. I'm listening on the handheld. I can hear myself. Go ahead.
Speaker B: Okay, this is Neon32. Sounds like it's going that way but not coming back. Hey.
Speaker A: Yes, Tom, 32. And he's clobbering you, Tom, but. Yeah, Tom, go ahead.
Speaker B: Over. Click. Okay, I'm just saying. Yeah, it sounds like it's going one way or it's down to 32, but it's not coming back.
Speaker A: No, I'm hearing a fine run. 32.
Speaker B: Let me switch over there.
Speaker A: There you go.
Speaker B: It's working that way. Northbound from 33 to 32, but not southbound from 32 to 33. If you're talking to me, I can't hear you.
Speaker A: I'm trying to digest what you're saying. Let me jump over to 32 again. All right, fair zone, 32.
Speaker B: How now?
Speaker A: So it looked like 32 is not going northbound. Don't think it's the path because I'm doing it fine from my mobile here.
Speaker B: Right. If you're here in the hearing yourself, I'm coming out 32 from 33. Then the northbound receiver is working, and we're on the same antenna. So it sounds like the transmitter facing southbound from 32 to 33 on the links side is not working.
Speaker A: That is the fair assessment there unit.
Speaker B: So question is, was that turned off remotely somehow, or did it fail at some point? And again, shouldn't be an antenna issue. So I don't know.
Speaker A: Jeff was matching buttons. Hey, Jeff, go ahead and match again.
Speaker C: Yeah, Mike, I'm on 32. You might want to tell Tom I'm
Speaker B: here because I don't think he can hear me.
Speaker C: And I can't get it into 33 direct, not from here.
Speaker A: I have an idea. Let's see. I think if you talk on 32 local, I can do a polish patch and hold this microphone up to the bow.
Speaker B: Bang.
Speaker A: So go ahead on local.
Speaker B: Let's see what happens. Let's see what that does. I. I hear you, jeff, via his pat.
Speaker A: Go ahead.
Speaker B: Mike's gonna be sleeping in the car all night. Yeah, really. And I guess I'm coming out on the network, right? Unless you got something shut. So my apologies to if that's the case. Anybody else who's here. Just me. But anyway. So is it possible the transmitter from 32 to 33 going southbound is controlled off or something?
Speaker A: Try this. And Tom, remember, he's on local, so you got to let the timer reset before he answered or he doesn't hear you.
Speaker C: I'm back on link. Can you hear me, Tom?
Speaker A: Maybe you bunch of videos can use a call sign once a week.
Speaker C: You can throw mine out there in 6 kilo P. Trying to figure out why the transmitter is not working here.
Speaker A: Dos is good. It worked that time. Wbc, ktv.
Speaker C: All right, so I take. I take it Tom is hearing me on 33 without going through the farm man's intercom? Maybe not. I didn't hear an answer from Tom.
Speaker A: I'm talking to you on 33. Yeah, 33 actually takes out two here in my place.
Speaker C: Yeah, that's pretty amazing on the one hand. Maybe not so amazing when you think about it.
Speaker A: Yes, indeed.
Speaker B: And my full bank got a scratchy
Speaker A: volume control on top of everything else. All right, Tom, go ahead.
Speaker B: Okay. I don't know what I'm going to go ahead with, but I guess you'll determine something. Or determine that we don't know what's going on. But anyhow. Yeah, I don't know when this happened, but anyhow, I just have a nice addition here.
Speaker C: Okay, Tom, are you hearing me right now? Tomorrow.
Speaker B: Hello?
Speaker C: I don't think Tom's hearing me.
Speaker A: It's coming out of 33.

Okay. Are you still hearing me, Mike? Someone just keyed up 33 on local. If it comes back, Let me go. Go. Hear me? Are you hearing me, Mike? Sure am, and I'm on 33.

Yep, I heard that. Okay, Now I'm on 32. Are you hearing me on 33? Mike, It's not that time. Oops. Then what you're listening to is two. You're not listening to 33 because I just making 32. I just local two, and you're not hearing me anymore, so you're not hearing 33. You're hearing two. The path between my mobile and 33, unreceive is taken itself. That's okay. However, you're getting into 33 because Tom's hearing you, but you're hearing Tom coming back on two. You're not hearing 33, but you are getting into 33, because I don't know how else he'd hear you and not hear me. I'm gonna get out of the driveway. Go. Go park up the street. That might hear.

All right, let's start rolling up the street here. WP6, KKV. I'm going to pull over and find a good spot.

Speaker A: Sa. 33 on low power. Yeah, I'm here to come back. Yeah. Okay. Are you hearing a single beep or the double? I'm hearing a double. I think 32 isn't always keying up. 33.
Speaker B: I'm over on two right now. So when I un Key,
Speaker A: you'll hear the double beep. But when you unkey, are you hearing the double beep or a single beep? Third three. SF is taken out. 33 at the moment here, I can't tell. It's a complete heat capture. I just heard a little warble in the background. Did you just hear a cw id? Yes. That was two. No. Yeah, the power on 32 is so low that my. My mobile is desensing the handheld. I can barely hear. Yeah, I suspect the link transmitter is malfunctioning. And if I had my phone with me, I would have you text me the 420 frequency and I could dial it up on my mobile and see if it's there, but I don't have my phone with me, so I'm out of luck.
Speaker B: Yeah, I was thinking about that too. Hang on. Just. Okay, let me try.

Speaker A: Okay, any idea if I'm coming out of 32 now and coming out of 33 now?
Speaker B: I wasn't hearing the beat note against two. Let's see if I'm hearing that now. I hear the peak between 2 and 33, but when you unt, I don't. I just hear 2.
Speaker A: Yeah. Okay. I just manually enabled tx3f32 which talks
Speaker B: out to 33, so just in case
Speaker A: it got turned off and that made
Speaker C: no difference at all.
Speaker A: So I'm now starting to think that we have a bad TX3 at 32.
Speaker B: I would say that's a very logical deduction.
Speaker A: Going back to the previous conversation that you get started. Do you have a way, not necessarily tonight, to listen to the output of TX3 at 32, like maybe tomorrow or something and see if you're hearing anything?
Speaker B: I can do that therapy sitting in the house with a handheld. Yeah, I can do that quite easily. I think I've even got the frequency stuffed in my radio here somewhere. But I can just. Just spin it up on the handheld.
Speaker A: Yeah.
Speaker B: Okay.
Speaker A: Yeah, I could send it to you. I've got it here someplace, but yeah,
Speaker C: you got it now.
Speaker A: If you get a chance tonight or tomorrow, just see if you can hear it coming back to you.
Speaker C: Certainly, yeah, Text it to my phone
Speaker B: and I'll go head back up to the house and I'll just dial it up on the HT and I can go.
Speaker A: Yeah, okay.
Speaker B: I've got a feeling it's either going to be really scratchy too or non existent.
Speaker A: We're either running really low power because something's wrong or it just stopped altogether.
Speaker C: But okay, since you're there, see if
Speaker A: you can get a hold of Tom, if he's still listening and explain to him and I'll text you in a bit in 6qob.
Speaker B: Sounds like a plan. Hello, tom, mbt, are you still there? Wb6jk,
Speaker C: I'm still here. Don't tell me it's 420 transmitter. Yep. All right, well, you know, with as many of those things as we have and them getting older and older, we go through several a year, one thing or another, so I am not surprised.
Speaker B: And when the lake's busy. Yeah, there's a lot going on up at 32 so. But hasn't been warm up there. Seems like it selective. It sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Right.
Speaker C: What? The link
Speaker B: Los Angeles link up. Yeah, the link transmitter there was a few times when I was on 32 and I heard it go through yours up there. Right.
Speaker C: Well, I. I really don't know. This is the first that I've noticed because I'm here trying it, but normally I wouldn't. I wouldn't know if it's not working or not, you know?
Speaker B: Yeah, you're sure rock solid coming this way. I'm talking to you on 33, but I'm listening on 32.
Speaker C: Not the path, that's for sure. Yeah. And yeah, not the antenna, so. Well, shoot. So have you heard anything about anything up there, what they're doing or not doing?
Speaker B: Not. Not a peep. I'll have to ping him Monday. He might pick up this weekend, who knows? But, yeah, I'll just hit him up, find out.
Speaker C: All right, well, what's everybody doing that was on there? Are they just. They move things or are they just still on there or what?
Speaker B: Signature downsize considerably. Out of all those antennas they had up there, they've got one. One for tx, one for rx. It's not on the fence.
Speaker C: Ah, okay. I'm understanding we should do the same or something, you know, or if we can probably see if there's some water or something in the line too, or something funky, we can get to it.

Speaker A: Well, I think I'm gonna turn around and head back to the casa, so I think it's, you know. All right, I copy. Down. Check. Double ch.
Speaker B: Yeah, when I get home, I'll dial up to 420
Speaker A: on the handheld and see if I can hear it. So, yeah, WB6, JKB, head back. All right, copy. Over here. Thanks. And also Bobby. Dirty here. Can you guys keep it down?

I think I checked the power on both the link radios. I know one of them was. The one I stumbled on was 20 watts, so maybe that's the one going to back up.

Speaker A: Nope. Go ahead, jeff.
Speaker B: Not a switch. Yep. I kind of believe it. I think that's what we're looking at, what we've discussed. And all the.

Again. What are you doing? Qlp. Looking it up. Wd68kb. Yep, that's exactly what I was doing. Just sent it to you. I've got a signal. I shoot on my handheld, but I don't have the right feel Here, friend. Let me switch it. 15 or 20 watts there. On the other one, you would probably be looking at a watt and a half according to what you said. But you should still see it. If you can get into 33 from your driveway, then 1 watt's probably all we need. From the top of the hill. Works quite. Sam.

Speaker B: it again. K6 tdy. Sacramento.
Speaker A: The KK7QPS. For some reason, the N17ND
Speaker B: repeater has some really bad reception right now, and I'm not really sure why, but hopefully we can get this taken care of. Well, you sound fine on this side.

Are you in Los Angeles or you're just using this repeater or. I don't even know exactly where this repeater is.

Well, I guess the repeater is having problems on that end, but you sound fine on this end. And I'll be monitoring K A pty Sacramento.

Speaker A: And6GRG listening.
Speaker B: Okay. This is Keeper Wendy. A 6 India India uniform. What a difference that makes. Over.
Speaker A: Yeah. Crazy band, huh? Dave's final remark was that it was sunspot activity is what he suspected. So. Yeah, what's going on for you?
Speaker B: Yeah, I just want to let you know if it's possible. I know I got to make a couple trips through Reading here, but I know Tuesday I have to go to Reading. Oh like at 9 o' clock in the morning, you know, talk to my CPA and then I'll be free if you're available. You want to do face to face?
Speaker A: You know, I would love to do that but I'm a volunteer for an organization that has spread out appointments, if you will, or their gatherings of where we do work. And I had one Friday and Anderson and now I've got one Tuesday out here in this neighborhood out here where I live. So. And it goes all morning long. So yeah, I won't be around until afternoon.
Speaker B: Okay, no problem there. But you know, this is, you know, I have to go talk to him before I actually do the computations on my dasus. So I'm going to be making another trip out there. You know what's a good day before the 15th of April?
Speaker A: Yeah. I won't have anything for another month from that organization. So I don't know what else could interrupt things, but that's about the only thing I really do is once a month I do two volunteer things. One in Anderson and one in Reading or one in Happy Valley out here and they're about around mid month. One is Friday and one is Tuesday.
Speaker B: Okay. You know, you know I can. Basically what I have to do is once I do my taxes, I have to drop it off. So you know, I can actually pick a date, you know, and you know, if I can pick a date that's convenient for you, that'd be great, you know, to probably be in the morning sometime over.
Speaker A: Yeah, anything, anything like that is fine. I. I might want to meet you by driving my E bike down to wherever we go. So South Reading anywhere, some restaurant or something.
Speaker B: Well, that sounds good. You know, I'm flexible. We could do that. That'd be great. I'm not that familiar with reading, but you know, if you can give me an address or something, you know, I'll find it. No problem. Over.
Speaker A: Yeah.
Speaker B: Would it be.
Speaker A: Do you think it'd be lunch or breakfast lunch or what?
Speaker B: Well, you know, it could be lunch because you know, I got to drive to Redding from Corning, California and it's over there by Cyprus is where my TPA is. Over.
Speaker A: You know, one thing that would be kind of fun would be to go to the. There's a restaurant really close to Bentronics, and then we could stop by and check in with Bentronics. I don't know if you've ever been there. I think you have, though. But there's a little, like a little shopping center where Bentronics is, and then there's another restaurant where everybody used to meet for these ham radio meetings just outside of that shopping center. So right across the street from the Dollar Store and all that, there's a mall where the Dollar Store is. There's a mall where Ventronics is, and there's a mall where that restaurant is.
Speaker B: Well, you know, that sounds good. I've been to Bentronic several times, and they used to have their meetings there. I think that's where I passed my extra operators license. You know, she's 20, 19.
Speaker A: Yeah, you. We both got ours about the same time, but they were using a different place. They weren't having the. They. They do have license examinations at the bench at the Bentronics gathering. That happens every year. I'm not sure exactly when that is. I. I have to. I need to call him because there's a big. That big bike race is coming up, and I. From what I understand, a lot of the stuff is going kind of through. He's kind of helping organizing that. But I got to talk to him about it, and I might call him regarding that, but. And then there's that Bentronics swap meet coming up, and I'm not sure what the date was for that.
Speaker B: Yeah, when I got my. Took my extra test, there was a swap meet the same day. And, you know, you took your test or whatever. The guys that were testing took their test and then they enjoyed the swamp meet over.
Speaker A: Exactly. And so that's why I kind of thought that would pop.
Speaker B: Okay, that sounds good. I'll keep in touch. That'll be in April, so for sure. And, you know, if you're available in April, we'll pick a date and we can meet over at Bentronic someplace. Over.
Speaker A: Yeah, there's a restaurant right next to Bentronic, and there's another one about a block away. And I don't know how many more there are. I mean, there's. There's just a lot of activity right in that area there,
Speaker B: you know, reading a lot better than I do. So, you know, you pick out a place over in that area, and then that's where we can meet. I know that my accountants on Red Cliff. That's a office street off of Cyprus.
Speaker A: Over. Yeah, I just got a text from FedEx that My, my, my Starlink is out for delivery.
Speaker B: Well, you're gonna get a Starlink. That's pretty exciting. Are you gonna get a mobile or a fixed one? Over.
Speaker A: It's gonna have to be a fixed one because they wanted to. Basically they're selling you the Mini, and I didn't want to buy one at this point, but right from what I understand, once you've got these, once you've got the residential, they will just give you a free Mini. But I don't know exactly how that works, but, you know, one thing at a time. So, yeah, it's going to be the. The residential one. And I'll have to see if I can figure out how to make it work on 12 volts, if I can.
Speaker B: Well, there's a lot of people in the boating community that learn how to use 12 volts. Over.
Speaker A: Yeah, I just don't want to have to run a inverter because. For two reasons. One, it takes a little power, more power, but the work worse, from what I've seen, is that my inverter puts out some RF interference that would bother HF. See, I'm back now. I'm back to running HF24.7.
Speaker B: Well, you know, I'm sure there's people in the boating community that got that all. I know that in San Carlos, in the marina there, almost every other boat's got Starlink now. Over.
Speaker A: Yeah, from what I understand, even Barry was seriously considering getting Starlink on his boat.
Speaker B: Yeah, it's pretty awesome. And, you know, it's funny, you know, Michael, I don't know, you probably never met him. India, Quebec, Papa. Over.
Speaker A: No, I've never met him. But of course, we communicate quite often. I'm about the right distance for good signals. Even better than Golf Papa, when he's in where he is now.
Speaker B: Yeah, well, he's. I think he's down by Nopalo or he's getting pretty close to Partita now. But what he does is, you know, he communicates with his wife. His wife lives up in there. I guess it's Monterey Bay area. And he finds, you know, finds a guy with Starlink and he gets their password and if he's close enough to him, he can get on like Skype or something and talk to his wife there in California.
Speaker A: Over. Oh, yeah, there's going to be a lot of that sort of thing. I had Free Internet for years because somebody did something similar to that. It wasn't Starlink. It was what they call residential terrestrial. And it was one of the places where they had terrestrial was in the same building as System 25 is located. And so I think there's a good chance that my, my Internet was going through Shasta. The building, same building at Shasta Bali. And that, that terrestrial Internet thing, they had a bunch of batteries and they were set for the worst conditions. They were 24 7.
Speaker B: Yeah, that sounds good, Mike. You know, I got a house full of people here, my brother and friends of ours that come and visited me and I gotta, I can't ignore them. I gotta get off the radio here and entertain them. So, yeah, you know, make a note that sometime in April I'll be getting back with you and we'll set up a date and place and all that for, you know, our face to face over.
Speaker A: Well, what I would do with that group is to keep them busy, is to have them go out in the olive orchard and gather those sticks and stuff that you make your firewood out of. Just kidding. But yeah, I've got the same thing going here. I've got my daughter coming with brunch and I haven't even fed the animals. I changed my schedule and I feed the animals after the net now rather than before it. So anyway, have fun with the family.
Speaker B: Okay. This is Kilowindia 6 India India uniform. And I guess the frequency is returned to general amateur use.
Speaker A: Handling things like they do on hf. But anyway, I would like to talk with, I think it's India Sierra India. If he's ever on again, I would like to talk to him on this frequency. I, I have him on JSA call or at least I have a station that can hear him. Might. Anyway, this isn't anything you need to worry about, Greg. So have fun. N6GRT. Km6 india sierra indian6trz. November 6th mike golf po n6trg.

Speaker A: Well, happy Saturday to you. Hope all is well. And 6P and E. Listening and monitoring. Well, I guess I'm monitoring because there hasn't been a whole lot to listen to.
Speaker B: Passing through, Over.
Speaker A: Passing through. Well, I see you're on the Las Vegas system. So where. Where about in Nevada would you be? I'm in Boulder City
Speaker B: right now. We're gonna go to the airport in a little bit and then fly to Seattle. That's our mission.
Speaker A: Seattle on Burpas? Okay. Well, hopefully you go in there for a vacation and maybe hopping on a cruise ship to go up to Alaska or something. I would hope that that's what you're doing. We've done that.
Speaker B: We have a daughter who lives in Seattle, and we're going to go up there for about 10 days and visit her family. That's the plan, at least. And then we'll come back here and pick up our car and continue our trip over.
Speaker A: All right, well, you drive safe and fly safe and all that good stuff. All right. I just didn't want to leave you hanging there and leave you unanswered. So hello to you, and the name here is Ken, and I am down here in Chanelta, Columbia.

Speaker A: All right, I'll be clear. All right, kd9apd.
Speaker B: Thanks for the chat.
Speaker A: Awesome. Clear.
Speaker B: All right, just grabbing my mic and come back.
Speaker A: Well, hello, Larry. I may have. I may have entered the wrong call sign for him. I thought it was 89 AVP. Yeah, I still. I still put it in wrong. How you doing, Larry? What's going on with you?
Speaker B: Hello, luck. Typical Saturday morning here. Just came in here finishing my cup of coffee and just finished it. Camera, radio and all. So get outside the day and
Speaker A: part
Speaker B: of the greenhouse we have out there. But other than that, not too much going on.
Speaker A: Okay. I'm about halfway done to my. Well, they're honeydews, but I shined them to myself cleaning all the windows in the house again. I pretty much have to do that every couple of. Couple of months, but yeah, so I'm about halfway done with that. Just taking a little break here. I got a couple more windows to do on the inside and then I get to grab the step ladder and doing the windows on the outside. I still don't have a stick or a pole tall enough to do the upstairs windows. But the windows with the screens, I can, I can pull those off from the inside and clean both sides of it. But the outside, yeah, I can't. I can't get to those. I don't have a stick long enough.
Speaker B: Upstairs windows can be challenged sometimes. So how did. There's not your windows. So here's a blind man I keep rubbing on. I hope I got it all off.
Speaker A: I'm pretty good at it, so I don't mind doing it. I've got these super cool little you reusable cloth. But first I wipe everything down with that. Then I go back with a good wad of clean paper towels and I do it again. So they turn out pretty nice.
Speaker B: Ours always look really good to me when I'm done. Last year I got some Ivan, I
Speaker A: bought her some extra stuff, you know, hose in.
Speaker B: She pretty good job.
Speaker A: So I was getting older, you know, and you know, tougher to do,
Speaker B: you know, here with all the rain.
Speaker A: I laughed for a little while, at least a full minute, I think when you said something to. The fact that the windows look pretty good to you. That's pretty good. All right, I need to get back to my chores.
Speaker B: I'll be listening though.
Speaker A: I have this thing loud enough in the TV room here. I can hear it just in case something you're treading happens. Larry, good to hear you again and I will talk to you later on N60 and the. The fella in Boulder. Is it Boulder City? Maybe. The dpd, I think it was. Can you come back? If you can hear me, can you come back with your call sign? I'd like to look. I think it was an apd. Apd something.
Speaker B: All right.
