2m Simplex (146.520 MHz) recordings for 2026-01-22
Speaker A: Good morning, kn6mgk. Well, I just turned the radio on. I've been up for a whole
Speaker B: half hour maybe, but. Yeah, I don't got no idea yet what you up to.
Speaker A: So that reminds me. Maybe tomorrow. Usually you have your your Mac with you. It'd be nice if you did. I'm hoping I have one of those mish whoosh mesh tag things in my hands by then. It'd be fun to use your computer to update the firmware on it right away. And it worked way better with your your Mac
Speaker B: than it would with my PC. Yep. Yeah.
Speaker A: In this case, I wish that I had one for the for the other ones that Pat has, too, because we're sitting there upgrading his, you know, the seed nodes and stuff with our PCs, and it's a pain. So same kind of a process, you know, trying to locate the right file to stick it on and everything, versus that your Mac just shows it right away.
Speaker A: Yeah, well, there's spyware on pretty much every computer, though. Yeah. So. But I don't like Gates for other reason, like poisoning Africans and poisoning Americans. So. Yeah, why anyone supports them, I don't know. But here I have a Windows machine right here, so I guess that's supporting them too. So anyway, yeah, another subject on Windows, you. I think you run your. Do you run your ICOM7300FT8
Speaker B: using your PC? Yeah, I got a friend over there
Speaker A: at Reading that's got an ICOM and he's been using it for JS8 for quite a long time and on some sort of a PC. Anyway, he's been having troubles. Now he can't get his JS8 to run, which should be very similar to FT8. And that just happened like all of a sudden. Maybe a Windows update came in or something. But anyway, be curious for like, what drivers you're using and that type of thing. Is it something different than the Silicon
Speaker B: Labs? You know, dr, I did get him to do the firmware update, but I wonder
Speaker A: if he knows how to. I mean, you have to put yours. You have to put yours into the FT8 reset, right?
Yeah, but we're talking about FT8 a little bit here, because I think it would be similar. But you have to, like, I think on patch, you have to load in the FT8 preset. Then when you want to operate the. The transceiver normally, like for ssv, you have. You have to unload it, right?
Speaker A: Right. Does your 7610 work the same way where it has that FT8
Speaker B: presets in the radio that you have to load in. Right? Right. So.
Speaker A: So that's what you do, right? You. It's page two of what?
Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. I don't know.
Speaker B: Yeah, I don't. I don't want your equipment, though. It'd be best if you have it, especially with winter field day and, you know, maybe you want to operate this weekend and stuff.
Speaker A: Yeah, if
Speaker B: he wants it done, then he could use near Mac. He
Speaker A: can. He
Speaker B: can
Speaker A: come over to Barnes and Noble or something.
Speaker B: Yeah, I kind of doubled with you at the beginning there, but anyway. Yeah, if Pat wants it done, he can always meet you over at Barnes and Noble or something like that. On Thursdays, he's generally in the area like he was
Speaker A: last Thursday. Yeah, I might be a couple minutes, too. Kn6mgk.
Speaker A: N6 wip n6 npm oh, I had the volume down. Hope nobody was
Speaker B: talking.
Speaker A: N6 npm.
Speaker B: Looks like I'm in the safe zone.
Yeah, I heard that. Wip mobile. And 6mtm.
And 6mtm.
Speaker A: And 6 wip and 6 ntm. Did you see that picture I showed you over the screen? A4.
Speaker B: I'll look. Only thing I didn't see was the 3D, but I don't think that makes a big difference.
Oh, I forgot I told you about that. It cleaned the whole door. Like it usually does. I don't have to get built up on there. Stupid, you know. Let me see. Holly. Milwaukee. Capital One. Now. This isn't the stuff I look at. Yeah, I didn't get nothing on the tablet. I'll check the phone.
Speaker A: I was talking about the movie projector scheme. Screen. We doubled. Urgent care
Speaker B: Co payments, insurance and appeals.
Speaker C: You know, I. I didn't catch it for the second time because I. I was listening, seeing a message come through.
Anyway, that was 120 inch screen. And they got this says inches on there. That's just a misprint right there.
All right, now, my phone. That was. That was the VA down at Mather. Now, my phone's open or. Or the tablet. Either way.
Check. Let me see. I'll bet you you're in here somewhere. It doesn't look like we talked on the phone in the last 20 phone calls. All right, I'll call Scott next door. He can call you and tell me what you said. Only kidding, anyway. All right.
