2m Simplex (146.520 MHz) recordings for 2026-01-23

She said UFC billing campaign. Well, I wasn't going to think. Might think they're not getting so check me.

Speaker A: Kilo. Noble Mike, Golf Kilo from North Chico. Bill sounds great. He was about a five nine plus plus pole quieting. KC6UIS, you're about a five nine five nine full quieting into Chico, California. So both stations sounded great. Back to neck control. I'll be here.
Speaker B: Yep. N6NTM
Speaker C: John up in Magalia. And good evening to the net. Heck, I don't know. We'll do it like we normally do. Jim. If you go around and I'm here, maybe I'll come up with something. N6NTM Good evening.

Yeah, he doesn't have. I talk to him just about every day. He doesn't have a good enough antenna right now to reach from Reading, so, yep, he'd probably like to be here, but I know he won't be.

Well, just sitting here, enjoying the fog. Got the fire going in the fireplace. Nice and cozy, warm. And good copy on everybody except Bob. He was broken up. I don't know, Bobby, but I have a feeling. Probably start banging conditions or something going on. It's kind of like, you know, we had that big old flare, it's like of the rainstorm to the rainstorm. Everything's all nice and cleared up, washed away. So everything sounds good. So we'll just go from there, AC6UFE back to net.

All right, Bob. Yeah, quit rubbing it in. Okay, I get you. But I do have an out. I run up to paradise and enjoy it up there. But I'm usually working, so enjoy is kind of like with little air quotes around it, you know. Anyway, yeah, a couple things going on this weekend, Winter Field day. I know some are operating out of their homes. Jim, if you're listening on 40 meters and all around the bands, I bet you you hear a lot of stuff this weekend. So maybe you ought to get that going. Myself, I intend on going down to Black Butte Lake with meeting up with some of those people from the Glenn Amateur Radio Society. Hopefully Bob will be there. I got something to show him. But anyway, I think Gears is having something over at Thermalito after Bay and I think Bob, that group that uses that Berry SF peak repeater is probably doing something as well. So if you're out and about and you've got time, maybe go and enjoy Winter Field Day somewhere. Or if you need to curl up by your home and enjoy a nice warm fire, that's fine too. So that's number one. Number two, been messing around with meshtastic devices. It's based on the LORA long range Internet of Things devices and you do not need to be a ham to do it. So it's been kind of fun working mostly with the paradise group as the folks in in Chico don't seem to be as on board, although they ought to be because the Butte Search and Rescue has a couple of nice repeaters that serve the Chico area. Anyway, it's kind of like texting using the 9,900 MHz band. And you do not have to be ham because most of us under 1 watt. So anyway kind of fun. But it does give you a headache because it's just technology stuff. So anyway, if anyone's interested and even and it can be encrypted by the way. So anyone interested in any sort of like an off grid communications setting up a mesh network might want to get in touch with me and see if we can figure out things together and help put up some more nodes. We've put up about 20, 20 stations around the Paradise Magalia area already. So kind of nice it's developing. Chico is developing a lot slower. So anyway, I intend on bringing a few devices to the winter field day at Black Butte Lake Grizzly Flat area and doing a little demonstration for anyone around there, which I don't expect there'll be a lot. But anyway, hopefully I can develop some interest over that way. Yep, I think that's about all I got. Thank you for doing the net, Jim. We missed you last week, and I'm sorry. KN6MGK back to you.

Speaker A: Just want to say,
Speaker B: Baba,
Speaker A: your
Speaker B: last transmission there. You're full quieting. Whatever. Whatever the issue was, it went away. So
Speaker A: everything's good now back to net.

Speaker A: Kilo, Oscar. Six Kilo, Kilo, Whiskey, Jerry and Kong. Cow. I could barely hear him, but that's what I made out. I think
Speaker B: Doug called it correctly. Well.

Speaker A: It. 106 WIQ. If
Speaker B: you're still out there. You sounded real good tonight, so sometimes I don't hear you very well. But tonight wasn't one of those nights. And I wondered if you're listening, if you think you'll be there Sunday at the same place. Because maybe I can slip away and go there on Sunday, but I can't on Saturday as I made
Speaker A: other arrangements. Okay, well, everyone shut their radio off. I chat
Speaker B: kn6ngk.

Well, it looks like the start of yet another beautiful day in six and tm. Good morning.
