Well, I'm thinking it's for the start of yet another beautiful day in Magalia. Presently 59 degrees. Supposed to get down to what? Well, it says could. Could be as cool as 55, but we'll see. And 6. NTM. Good morning.
05:35 n6w, N6wip n6 ntm.
Speaker A: Ah, that was fun. Wip, where is your butt? N6ntm. Yeah, right. If that chair could only talk. Hey, did you did.
Speaker B: Were you listening to HF you notice everybody? Everybody except for Joe said said goodbye to me this morning
Speaker A: because Larry ain't out there. Oh, what fun it is to observe.
Speaker B: Anyway, we tried everything. I paid 80 bucks for two pairs of LPD. I think that's what they're called. 3D glasses. Lori came up with the last thing to do, and that was turn the projector onto the 3D mode. And even though you click on it and it gets a blue dot, it still says off. But anyway, we don't see no 3D.
Speaker A: That. Take your time. Yeah, I looked it up under the Nebula X1 and it says LPD. That's the kind of glasses you need. Electric ones. They got little battery in them.
Speaker B: I don't remember what LDP means, but wine, something.
Speaker C: Yep.
Speaker B: You know, I get it halfway sideways from time to time. It is an X1? Yep. I just looked at it. Next one down is a Cosmos.
Speaker A: It's half the price and I didn't compare them, but anyway, I know it's got to be good. They make about five different
Speaker C: models. They make
Speaker A: a little one. It's about the same size as a 16 ounce can. Round like a can? Yeah. And it's only about 400 bucks or something like that. It's only 1080, but it still got quite
Speaker C: a few lumen, Right? Probably so it doesn't fall over or get knocked over.
And yes, I charged them up, which is kind of a weird deal. I left them overnight, each one, and. They're kind of weird. The light goes red when you plug it into the charger. And then when it. When it's fully charged, the red light goes out. So I unplug it and plug it back in and it's back red again for over a minute or so. And that I don't sit there and look at it. But eventually, not long after it's out again, I can unplug it and plug it back in and it's red again. So I did that about three times. I'm sure it's fully charged.
Dlp link. I'll go look at the box.
Speaker A: Okay, so I didn't read this before. It says ensure that you watch 3D videos within the specified receiving range as listed in the specifications in this manual. 3D image can't be viewable if 3D glasses move out of the specific range.
Speaker B: Huh? Definitely
Speaker A: valerian dlp link 3d shutter glasses. The model is a dg001.
Speaker C: D dog gloria dg00.
Speaker B: B a l e r I o n.
Speaker C: I haven't seen where it gives you a specified distance.
Speaker B: Next time I give them a try, I'll try moving closer.
Speaker C: How close do you got to get to? 150 inch screen G mini.
Speaker B: Check.
Okay. I did find this other part. 3D glasses. 60Hz may flicker if a 50Hz magnetic fluorescent lamp is on. But we don't have any of that. But in relation to the distance, the ideal distance for watching projection is three times of the height relative to to the screen image. Approximately equal to 6.5 to 19.7ft long. Strongly recommended that the height that you wear DLP3D glasses keep the same average level with the screen. That's us. We meet all those requirements.
This has that little lens right in between the two eyeglass pieces.
Speaker A: You know, I don't always color inside the line, so I may not be seeing that.
Speaker B: Laser
Speaker A: 2.0 forged 3500 ANSI lumens, Dolby Vision ISF, whatever that means. And 4K ultra high definition triple laser smart projector with top tier clarity. I don't, I don't see. You know, they show you a picture of the unit. I don't see anything in the picture which says anything about it. Liquid cooling. About that little receiver unit thing like the glasses have on the front.
Well, I don't see anything where it points to a receiver deal or whatever for. For that. Or maybe it's a transmitter on the projector that has to do with 3D.
Speaker A: Yes, I, we did go through that. It distinctly says you can't turn on the 3D in the, in the. You know, when it has sound in the video part, you have to click on that to turn it on, and you have to have already started the playback. And we did
Speaker B: it that way. Well, what
Speaker A: I've noticed, Jay, is that sometimes I could be doing everything perfectly right, and sometimes things don't work. But that's probably true with everybody. But. But it seems like when you're present, things seem to work more often.
I don't notice any flicker. But in the side by side comparison, I don't see any difference. And when I go back, when I lift the glasses up and then back down, and then look at the screen and put the glasses back down, I don't see any difference. Anyway, I tried a couple of different things. 8k 4k. I watched that Avatar movie for a little bit. I tried four or five different event, you know, movies, just different things that have 3D and seem like I could see a little bit of difference. And I might have been making up in my head, but definitely in the side by side comparison area, and it has that selection as you're going after in the screen that you turn on the 3D part. Maybe that's why I got this particular unit for twelve hundred dollars less. Maybe that part ain't working.
Okay, I could try that. I looked at a side by side thing. It was the same image in the left and the right side. So I. I didn't like watching that because I couldn't see any real difference. But I didn't. Ever tried putting the mode of the projector in side by side? I did try the above and below though.
I never. I didn't. I didn't. I. I picked a side by side video to watch 3D video. And I just had the glasses in the normal position. I didn't go to the projector and turn it in the side by side mode.
I couldn't get the, I couldn't get the settings screen on the projector to sit to turn on 3D. I pushed every button on the control. So. But when it's up there, the blue dot over in the right side is blue. There's a couple places when you go down to top and bottom or whatever. When you click on it, a little switch turns blue. You know, they, they do different things. They're. It's, it's, it's not the same for every line you choose. So because it always says 3D is in the off position. Even though when you click on has a white background, it still says off, but the little blue dot next to the square box is blue. That is the position it's in. I tried pushing the button twice and holding the button down and I still could never make the 3D. And then underneath that it says off. Even though the blue lights on in the right side, the off is still there.
Speaker A: That's what my first girlfriend said. But it wasn't that easy. I did. I did follow that
Speaker B: part of it, Jay, when I got to the part, and then I restarted the whole machine a second time after I put the projector in the right. Well, like I said, it's not very. It's not very clear when it comes to that. Because. The off is on, even though the blue light comes on
Speaker A: and off when you put it in 3D mode. Yes.
Speaker A: Nope, I don't see them. I don't see them flicker. And the only time I've seen a double screen is when I picked a double screen
Speaker B: video. And I just figured
Speaker A: that was a side by side comparison. So you could see the glasses working on one side and the other side just looks like regular tv.
Speaker A: I know. We could wait until Blake gets up
Speaker B: and he could tell us. Yeah.
And I think that's probably what's happening. That's why I never see it go to 3D on. It still says off underneath 3D. Even though the blue light over on the right side is blue when you turn it on and off. No, No. I'm running it off of YouTube through the smart TV Google. Google TV built into the projector. I don't think I have any 3d cds. Yes. And then I, to get to the selection I use the microphone on the remote and I say 3D movies and it goes to 3D movies and all the content and the thumbnails of 3D. Since I've been to the IMAX theater and saw Avatar at the show, I kind of know what it's supposed to look like. Yeah, I'm not going to have Atmos sound and all that. Even though I have 9 point or 10 point Atmos theater with all the speakers and stuff. Very, very rarely. Trevor bought a CD over here one time and it was phenomenal. I tried to get one but they're hard to get nowadays. And the Atmos up next to the ceiling that was spinning one direction and on the bottom speakers, you know, wide front left and right. Wide left and right. And then we got those actual side speakers and the back speakers, they were spinning the other direction. Boy, that, that screwed with your head. I'm going straight out of the nebula with a one direction audio link. HDMI cable to the Marantz in the game mode and the projectors playing on the screen. $129 for a directional hdmi audio ca. 50ft. I might be able to get away with 35 or 40 but I, I read in there they, they have 150 foot ones available. Even 200ft. I got, I got the one I got for like 111 bucks because some. It was an open box but I get the audio through the Marant. You know when I play the Nebula watching Google TV and go to YouTube I can get the sound through the theater. It's amazing. If you go watch music videos, you know how this thing sounds. So it's amazing. 150 inch screen and 12 or 14,000 watt theater.
Speaker A: No TV. The TVs behind the screen and it's in the off position.
Speaker B: No, the Google smart TV that's inside the nebula, it comes with that gives you all the smart TV stuff. Hulu, Fairmont, HBO, YouTube,
Speaker A: blah, blah, blah. And I got a 1.1
Speaker B: reflective white screen, so it should be bouncing that white frame. What is it, every 30 frames
Speaker A: or something? Six by 19
Speaker B: and 60 hertz. So, you know, that's pretty fast for high definition,
Speaker A: ultra high definition. I don't think I've made a setting set for that. I
Speaker B: think I should come with a warning on the box that the 3D things could cause headaches. Because it says if you wear the glasses and you get headaches, not to use them. And just trying to figure out how all the things you got to do to actually see 3D is giving me a headache.
Yes. That's because the nebula's got two HDMI outputs. One of them's arc.
Well, that's it. And that's why it always says even though the blue light's on because you clicked on it, it still says off under the 3D title. Well, that makes sense. Well, I don't know how else you could watch 3D. Then why is it even in the menu if it. If you can't see it on your screen? Huh? It won't let you turn that on.
You probably didn't put any of those on my nas. But anyway, I've seen the thumbnails, and we did look to see what the nas look like, but I've never used it to watch a movie. It's a crying shame.
Speaker A: I don't think so, but I
Speaker B: did spend big money for that player. It's a Panasonic top of the line. I'll go look at the front of
Speaker A: it, but I think you hit on it already. The simple fact that the I can't get it to say on under 3D mode, even though the blue, blue light at the outside of the box turns on when you turn it on. So I'm not getting the signal. I don't see why it wouldn't coming from the inside of the nebula. When you pick a 3D movie to watch going through the nebula, you'd think that would be all that was necessary.
Speaker B: I'll go look at the Blu Ray player.
Yeah. And you explain the sync signal, which is a pure white screen. What? Every. Every 30 or so frames? You don't ever see it because it's too fast, but that's what's telling it. Okay, well, that makes sense then. I have not figured out how to send the signal to the Marantz. That's coming from our Apple Smart TV box. It's plugged into the Marantz. Yeah. So I don't know how to send it down there so I can get the Marantz theater sound and then back to the Nebula to project. Huh. I've been real good at hooking up stereo stuff. A million wires. But this. This Marantz receiver, if you seen the back of it, you wouldn't even believe it. The re the reason why they made the box as big as it is the cabinet is because of the amount of inputs and outputs that are on the back. Huh.
Operation instructions. It tells you how long to hold the button down, to turn it on and all that. I read that one a couple of times.
Yeah, if you'd shut up. I did. That was just fun, and you know that. I did. I did start to get up, put the microphone in its holder and all that to go look at. I even got my little flashlight in my hand. But, yeah, we're making progress. I'll go look at. I don't remember buying a 3D, but you'd think if I. You got the top of the line Panasonic. For five or six hundred bucks, it should do it. I'll go look.
Says it's a db ub820. Doesn't say anything about 3D on it, but I guess you got to look up that.
Let's go look at it again. Now. U B PD820 I'll go make sure.
Dp u b 8 20.
It's dog papa. Upper babylon 8, 20. Dp u b 8, 20.
Yeah. Yeah, I don't. Well, anyway, I haven't figured out maybe. Maybe I have to plug that Apple TV box directly into the back of the nebula to get it to project. I just have. I just. Maybe I have to go out the monitor. It has monitor one and monitor two. One of them's arc, which just means when you turn on your Marantz or whatever, it tells the TV to turn on them. Guessing, but. Anyway, I haven't figured out how to get it from the Marantz to the projector and then from the projector, the sound, back to the Marantz. I went and bought that audio cable, that optical AC in my optical cable just to get the sound from the nebula to go to the Morant so that at least I could listen in the theater sound. And it's only 2.2 or something like that anyway, so I don't get all the Atmos stuff that way. But it's nice to have the front speakers and the. And the center channel, you know, So I don't know how to make the Marantz do that coming and going thing at the same time.
Okay, so I only got a one way directional cable. Yeah. So I have to run two HDMI cables, I'm assuming. Otherwise I don't get the sound.
So it's got two. Two HDMI monitors. One of them is an arc monitor. I tried something new this morning just going out the gaming. But that's a one way directional optical cable of HDMI so that you can get the sound on that HDMI cable. It only lets signals go one direction.
Yeah. It has eight inputs. One of them is dvd. And then there's. You got antenna cable, hdmi. And these are all ends. Game and phonograph, CD player, you know, it has all those six or seven of them.
Yeah, that's how it is now. Then when I want to watch a cd, it just automatically switches it. Somehow when I turn on the CD player, I don't have to change anything on the marantz, it's just playing the cd.
Speaker A: I think you're missing something, Jay. It's
Speaker B: probably me, though. So it. It's one way out of the Nebula. That cable I paid the big money for back to the Marantz. I figured since it was hdmi, it has the audio optical cable in it. I figured it did the movie part 2 also. I should say. Maybe it don't.
Speaker A: Yeah, that's me. Yeah, I never had any problems just dealing with sound. But this whole HDMI optical cable and a normal optical cable, because I had one of those over at the last place to go to that theater that was one of those semi square with a round tip on it. And it was just a optical tube, so to speak, solid piece of plastic. The HDMI cable, optical audio, that, that's all that cable moves back and
Speaker B: forth is sound. Yeah, that is not what I have.
Speaker A: Okay, well, you can go look at the Nebula X1. Nebula. And. And you can see that the back panel, it looks like a 3.5 stereo jack where it says optical audio. It's not one of those little square fold away lids like the one that you're just was talking about that I had on my last stereo from the
Speaker B: tv. Maybe after church
Speaker A: if you get a while there. I know you explained it perfectly, but I'm still a little bit confused. I might have to switch that cable so it's facing the other direction.
Speaker B: Yeah, everything is plugged into the Marant inputs on the Marant. Okay,
Speaker A: well that's. That's a different story because. Well, you. Are you thinking that the DVD player has more than one HDMI output?
Yeah, it goes down through the floor, along the ground under the house and then back up through the floor. But right now I just have it strung around the outside edge of the room so I can. I can change the direction of that one. That one only goes one direction. One side says projector and all that stuff. The other side says the receiver. So I have that correct because now I can play the Nebula to the Marantz and get sound through the theater. There's only one output on the back of the CD player. Okay. And it's plugged into the Marantz and I surely aren't going to unplug and plug in a cable every time I want to watch it through the theater through the Nebula. That's why I bought that switch the other day. So I could just hook up all the wires and then switch between the, you know, inputs. So the nebula has two HDMI inputs. One is ARC and the. So it has HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 ARC.
Okay, I'm getting it now. All right, well, maybe after church. I'll give you mind of. I know you. You understand it because you've dealt with it before and I haven't, so. Especially the 3D end of it. I'll get a hold of you after church, and if you don't feel like it's no big deal, but if you do, we'll play with it.
Speaker A: Check. Thank you. All right, I'll let this 2 meter radio
Speaker B: get back to normal programming. Oh,
Speaker A: yeah, well, we clog it up like this and Derek's probably already gone through a couple of cans of spray paint on top of the hill.
Speaker B: Oh, I
Speaker A: see. Yeah, I've been noticing that. Probably a lot less people for him to talk to if it ain't on the weekend. They'll adjust, though. All right. N6 NTM. I'm out.
That'd be nice. So originally I thought that's why I bought the switch, so I didn't have to run out the monitor. There is two monitors. One of them's arc. And so I bought that cable. I didn't want to have to plug in the nebula every time to watch that. So I bought the switch, which, see, and now in order for that optical audio to work in and out of the switch, I have to get another one of those optical audio HDMI cables to go from the back of the Marant to the switch.
Now I'm going to need a forklift just to get all the boxes back down to return to Amazon. Okay, But I do need the one that I have.
Check. Yeah, I like to run everything through the Morantz. That's why I got the, you know, 121400 watt. Theater.
Speaker A: Yeah. You'll have to educate me again. Okie dokie. Yeah, I'll probably want. I'll probably want to be using that on the road
Speaker B: and leaving it here. Cool. All right.
Speaker A: The war just exposed the biggest lie about gold. That's what I'm watching,
Speaker B: Pm.
