Everyone, Everyone who shows up, whether you're a club officer, or you come to the podas or picnics or breakfast, or you just check in on the net.

It's the members here that make the club. And, you know, this club's pretty cool club. I'd also like to remind you all that Butte County CERT actually uses the gears repeaters for emergency notifications on behalf of the Butte County Sheriff's Office. So for evacuations warnings, things like that, our repeaters actually get used for emergency notifications. It's pretty cool. So thanks for the club, for supporting our repeaters and for showing up for that. And that's all I've got tonight. So kn6pww. And I'd like to wish you all a really good Thanksgiving. KN6PWW back to control. All right, Jerry. Thank you, Jim. K6EST. This is Jim K6EST in South Chico. And I've done a little experimen playing around. I built one of those.

Baofeng repeaters using two Baofeng radios. And I did get a Chinese duplexer and I ordered that. And I came and I connected it up and connected it to an antenna. And I was amazed how well that little fellow worked. It's pretty, pretty interesting. So that was my, my fun for the, for this last week. Anyway, have a good night, everyone, and back to you. Thank you very much. Jim. Larry, KF6NCX. Good evening, Lester and the rest of the net. This is Larry, KF6NCX in Chico. I've gotta go along with Jamie when he says sure is cold. I was kind of thinking the last week or two, oh, this isn't so bad.

Winter coming on and wow, all of a sudden I understand. It's supposed to be 37 tonight and it feels like a little hard to get used to. Well, I'm looking forward to this weekend, Jevons coming up for Thanksgiving and sticking around for the weekend for a big contest. We do sometimes. The CGU Worldwide Ex CW contest starts 4pm Friday and goes till 4pm Sunday. We're not going to do 48 hours, of course, but we should get a lot of radio in. I think it'll be a lot of fun. Looking forward to it. Okay, back to you, lester. This is KF6 and CX. All right, Larry, thank you. It's not too cold over here on this side of the river right now, but I got a.

That we're going to have a nice cold winter because the wild animals are starting to move in on us and get into our trees, right? Steve kn6mpk okay, well, thanks, Larry, Yeah. For doing the net. I mean, Lester, I apologize. Lester, thank you for doing the net and thank you for what you do in the communities over there, especially this time of year where sure, a lot of people are fairly thankful of having some holiday food. So in any case, thank you for that as well. And yes to Larry, maybe he could give an idea as to what the exchange will be for this weekend's contest. Sounds like I won't be able to do much poda. I guess because of that I was thinking to go out at some point in time, but it will clog up all the frequencies. I'll have to maybe I'll have to move over to 17 meters or something like that.

That's what I could do. So I'll need to be prepared for that, I suppose. And in that vein, one thing I did the other day was over here at the park, put up my 20 meter vertical real fast, and it was real slow going at first. But the first two stations I got on cw, the first one was from Russia and the second one was from France, so I thought that was pretty good. And then it was real slow. All I think I got was I got my 10 in just barely before I had to leave. But mostly this all seems to be west coast one in Nebraska, I guess. But for the most part, that was it. And the last thing I'll talk about is meshtastic. Been playing with that today. I ended up putting it up on my outside antenna, which is a discone antenna, and on medium fast. I did get so far.

Seven other nodes responding, so and some of them one says W6CX and it's named Diablo. So I did look up that call sign and it shows up to be like the Mount Diablo Amateur Radio Group. So that's interesting. If that's the case, it does show it being like five or six hops away, so makes some sense. But I really haven't gotten any communication yet from anybody on the mesh out there, so something I'm working on. It'd be neat if others in the club would be interested in that type of thing, but we still seem to be talking about SWR and Wolfang radios, so I don't know, but things like this are kind of fun. Even the thought of doing some other projects like that APRS balloon and things like that, but doesn't seem to be too much interest in those things, so. Well,

Catch you all later. I want everyone to have a happy Thanksgiving, and we'll see you there after. Kilo, November 6th. Mike, golf. Kilo. Back to you, Steve. Thank you. And just so you know that our group over here gave food out Monday to 107 families. All right, let's go on down to. Oh, wow. Where am I at? Bill? Jc6ufe. Jc6ufe. Bill in Cape well, all this project talk reminds me of the good old days when the big project was a foam patch. That's all we could do anyway. You know, when. When humans talk, they talk around 120 to 150, 50 words a minute. And the men usually are closer to the 120. And the women are.

Closer to the 150. Anyway, it reminds me of why I tend to fall asleep listening to cw. So I just. Everybody have a good Thanksgiving. Back to you, Lester KC6UFE. All right, Bill. Thank you very much. And on top of that, now that's the rollers I have. Do we have any late members wishing to check in before we close foreign. Tonight? All right. This includes the Golden Empire Amateur Ready Society. I'd like to thank everybody who checked in tonight and invite you back next week. This is KG6KUO. We're returning to W6 recruiter to its global monitoring service. This net is closed at 2149.

73 is all. This is KG6K. Take your clear frequency. K6est.kn6pww. Good evening, Jamie. Hey. What radios were you using for that repeater setup? Because I thought about doing something like that. And what duplex are we using? I bought a duplexer off AliExpress. And then I used two Baofengs. A basic UV5R for the receiver and then the UV5RM for the transmitter side. And then I used. For the handheld, I had a Baofeng 888 and connected it to an antenna.

That's about 10ft up on my house. And I just started walking, and I walked close to a mile away, and it was still working perfectly. That's amazing. So those. That's a complete HT solution, right? So 5 watts? Actually, yeah. I had the transmitter on low power, so it was probably closer to 2 watts. And the only problem is, of course, the. The way the. The transmitter is triggered is with the vox circuit. And so it wouldn't. The transmitter wouldn't open up until I send something into the. The handheld. So that would automatically clip it. First you want to say open or something and then start talking. I don't know. I need to test it more. In fact, if you want to play with it, that'd be, you know, we can it do.

It sometime. Anytime you want. That's pretty cool. I'll. I'll get a hold of you later. We'll. We'll figure something out. Maybe for. Oh, gosh, you know how it gets around the holidays, but we'll figure something out. It sounds cool. Anyways, thanks a lot, man. So I'm gonna call it 73kn6pw. Yeah. Anytime you want to play with it, let me know and we'll. We'll set it up. I can even take it, you know, since it's all battery operated. We can even take it portable someplace and set it up. So. I don't know. Just something I've been wanting to play with for a long time. And I. I found those. The duplexers on. On AliExpress are. Was like $55, $56 including shipping, so. So they're. They're really affordable. Thanks again.

Jim. I got to cut to another net, so k6pww. Clear. K6 est.

Please. Id. Thank you.
