W6 rhc repeater check 2. 60 uk testing. The gang around, listening on a five this evening. 60 UK. I need to run a test here. Everybody around at 60 UK. Oh, hi, Lester. Hey, listen, I had a problem here. I think I may have narrowed it down. I need to make a change before I do. Do I sound okay? Right now? Yes, right now you do.

You don't hear any kind of hum or, like, a buzz or anything like that? Nope. Nice and clear. Hey, can you. If you're not busy, can you stand by for 30 seconds? I need to make a change. Well, I'll stay here as long as you need me to. Go ahead.

Yeah. Okay, well, I. I'm back. I think, anyway. Lester, you hear any kind of hum or buzz right now? Yes, I do. There's a high. It's almost like electricity popping. Okay, well, I don't think it's a hot Pl. I don't think it's the power supply because I'm running out purity C, so can you just take my. For. I know it's in the evening. You're probably dinner hour, and I hate to bother you, but if you hang on just for a second, I want to see if I can make it go away. And I'll leave it. I'll leave it there. Okay? Like I said, it's not a problem. I've already. We've already had our dinner, and I'm just sitting here in the chair, relaxing.

Okay. Matt. Hello? Test 1, 2, 3, 4. 60. Okay, clearance and recording. So, Lester, I. I'm sure you're still listening. I'm going to key down for about just a couple seconds and I'll do it again. I'm not gonna audio. I'm just gonna keep key down to see if you hear any. If that went away. Okay. Did I clear it up? Over. Yes, it did. It's all gone. There's no. No popping, no. No crackling in there. Okay, so no buzzing? No. I thought maybe the radio had a hot Pl or something. And I got. I don't have my service motor anymore, so it's kind of hard to work on these radios with the old rusty pair of pliers and a screwdriver. And it's always the wrong screwdriver. If I need a Phillips, it's a flat blade. I mean, a flat blade is a screw.

Phillip. So there you go. Well, good. Hope you had a good dinner. I just had support chops and stuff myself and I just wanted to make sure. So anyway, I've narrowed it down. It's not the radio, so that's. That's a good thing. Right? Well, there's. It stayed clear the whole time, so not a problem. And if you need to be back, just come back and holler. Hello? All right. Well, all right. Well, as Jim Carrey would say. Well, alrighty then. Well, Lester, I hope I didn't interrupt your evening, but you're usually one that people can count on it and they appreciate that. It is myself really appreciate it. It's good to have somebody round a neck and you know, in the old days, as you probably remember, before cell phones and all that stuff, they used to be.

Usually a control operator around. If there was a problem, there'd usually be somebody there to, you know, answer up, as a rule. But, boy, oh, boy, how, how, how things have changed. Anyway, I like to say that. Pork chops and all the trimmings for dinner. How about you? What you have, Lester? Or if I'm not. Not frying too much. You're good. Well, the other day I fixed ribeye steaks for everybody. Today, this afternoon, I took the ribeye steaks that we had left over and thin cut them and fried them up along with some Anaheim peppers. And everybody likes it. Oh, wow. Boy, you're bad after my heart. It wasn't from the steak bake the leftover steaks? Is that what you're saying?

My oldest daughter came to visit us from New York, and my youngest daughter lives right here. So I made a. They wanted me to do what I used to do when I used to pan fry ribeye steaks and make a whole meal just in one pan. Okay. Fine business. I'm trying to think where you are. You're south to me, south of Red Blow, south of somewhere. You're Willows. No. Yeah. Yes, I'm in. I'm west of Willows. When you come down to willows and take 162 west, I'm four miles out way from the freeway out towards the. There's a trailer park out there and there's Thunderbolt.

Valley, Thunder Hill, whatever that thing is in that area. Yeah. You go past the trailer park and before you get to the canal, where the canal crosses the road, that's where I live. You got a good signal? I'm just mobile here. I'm in my rv, sitting in the driveway just with the mobile antenna on roof level. And you're look at your input. You're doing a good job even on the input. You must have pretty good station there. I had a good spot here. I've been able to reach quite a few places around me. When I was on the Simplex Net, I used to be able to reach almost all the way over to the coast. And then there's a station going up toward Nevada that I used to be able to pick up.

But I can pick up that and then Shasta and down into Sacramento area sometimes. Copy that. Well, my station at Corning, I wasn't the highest place, but I did live up on a knoll and I had a 72 foot tower and I had a. Well, it's still there, but it's halfway down. But anyway, long story short, I had a 4Z4. That's a dual band, 2 meter 440 right on the top. That's probably 80ft or so. I had a pair of stack yaggies there for 2 meter FM and I had 100 watts plus. Then I had 300 watts plus on another 2 meter ramp. And well, boy, I could work. I could work all the way to the Siskiyous before it, you know, before it dropped over into Oregon there. But once it went over the hill down.

Towards Ashland and went away and like you say, over towards the coast and. Well, it really played quite well, you know, I guess over towards the coast. I know I was at the base out towards west of Corning there, out towards past Canada, they got that mountain range there. But I did that on the mobile. I think I did that what they call the knife edge of. I don't know if you've heard of that, but that worked under the right kind of conditions. Well, Lester, listen good here. Yeah. I really appreciate you helping me with Jack here. And I was kind of concerned. I was. I didn't. I was hoping it wasn't the radio. It's an older radio, so, you know, it could have a lot of issues. I think I need to replace the memory backup battery, but it's an old kenwood dual band TM 7 31.

From probably around the mid-80s, but I like it. No menus, simple really. You know, I don't have to read the manual program it and so I, I have some other ones like this to this vintage. I kind of like the older stuff, you know it's. Newer stuff is great. I like that too. But you know. Well listen, I'm gonna let you go and I don't know what you're having for dessert. I am having a. What am I having for dessert? Probably a candy bar. What is. Oh it mounts. Yep. I got me a balanced candy bar. That's what I'm gonna have for dessert there Lester. Anyway, we'll hear you Tuesday night. You take care my friend. Thanks again. Jesus greeting to you there. Seven three from N60. Okay, you have a good evening there Carnes. And just so you know that my antenna is a.

About a 25 year old starduster, and I've only replaced the coax one time since I put it up. And I'm working on an old. An older kenwood radio also. Anyway, 73, you have a good evening. KD6KU. Well, wait, hold on, Lester, don't keep me in suspense. An older kid with radio. I told you what mine was. I won't be able to sleep tonight. Listen, you tell me what you're on there. Good. Hang on for a minute then, because I'm gonna have to get a light up here and look at it, because I don't remember what the name of it was. That's okay. It's not that important. But whatever it is, it sounds good. So, yeah, if you could find it, that'd be great. If not, no problem. But whatever it is.

It sounds good. I hope mine sounds half as good. So, anyway, all right. If you found it, you can let me know. If not, no big deal. 60. Okay, good. It's a Kenwood Tribander. TM G707. Oh, okay. Is that the one they call the Cool Blue? Does it have a blue. Blue display? A blue screen? No, it's an orange screen. Okay. Because I remember. Well, anyway. Okay. I was maybe thinking. Okay, but I know what that is, so. I know what that is, Lester. So, anyway, John's really good. You have a good evening. Thanks again, my friend. And take care. Thanks to you again. You have a Good evening. To KG6KO.
