Good to hear from you. Anyone else to check in? Any, any visitors, late members, anyone at all? Okay, well let's, let's do the roundtable. Let's go through the people who checked in and are going to stick around and hear what they have to say. First is kilo November 2nd. Papa whiskey, whiskey. Jamie and Chico. How are things going? Jamie, this is KN6TWW. Jamie and Chico. And things would be. Things would be just darn near perfect except I'm getting over a slight cold. Don't have much to report as far as radio goes. And by the way, the cold is getting pretty as good as a cold can be for a few days. So pretty happy. Not much radio because I've been traveling for a month. My wife and I went to Christmas markets in Germany for like 10 or 12 days. We spent four or five days in Paris for Christmas and then we went to Belgium for this crazy to watch these crazy bicycle races. They're called cyclocross. Look that one up. And it was pretty entertaining. Anyway, that's what I've been doing last month and this is actually the first time I've touched a radio. We just, we got back. We got back Friday night. So anyway, that's it for me Back. Good to be back. And KN6PWW back to control. Well, good deal, Jamie. That sounds like a lot of fun. You know, most of us are hoping to have a cuso with Europeans if we can. There you went over right up, way over there. And I'm sure had a lot of a number of eyeball QSOs with Europeans, right? Yeah, we did. We spent a lot of time on trains, especially in Germany. We moved between a couple of large cities, but then to took the local trains out to the smaller towns for their Christmas market and really, really had a good time. The Christmas markets, especially in the small towns, will occupy the whole center of the town. It's a lot of little booths with all kinds of food and stuff to drink and crafts from, you know, a lot of local stuff and a lot of stuff from around the world. It's just really, really fun. Everyone in the towns turns out, so it's always. They're real crowded, really fun. And on the trains back and forth, we got to just sit and chat with folks. It was, it was about as good as it could be. KN6PWW okay. Wow, that sounds pretty fantastic. You guys must have had a great time. Good deal. Okay, well, looks like I'm next on the list. Larry KF6 NCX doing net control. Well, I had fun over the weekend doing the November. No, not the November, the North American cuso party. The Morse code version. They have a single site, siteband and actually it happens twice a year, once in January and I think the other time in August for both of them. And that was fun. And conditions were quite good, at least during the day for me. And also I kept doing this straight key month special event where you send Morse code with an old fashioned straight key. And there are special event stations around the country and even some places around the world that you can try to contact. There's been quite a bit of activity, so I've been having fun with that and I'm enjoying this good sunny weather. It's great to see the sun after all the rain. Okay, I think that's about it for me. It is it for me. And next is Bill. Kilo Charlie Six Unicorn, Foxtrot, Echo. What's new? Bill six ufc, Bill and Cafe. Well, everything's good. Was any better, it wouldn't be right, wouldn't be fair. So got got the Jim's email there and had a couple of URLs in the email for contacting. I don't have access to either one of those. Have to Come up with something else. Gonna do Winterfield Day here at the home QTH where it's nice and warm. Got the fire going. So back to you Larry KC6UFE steel bill that sounds like fun. Winter field day, cozy by the fire. That just might be the way to do it. I might try that approach myself. Next is Jevon K6YLH. Good Evening again Jevin K6YLH. Let's see. I also did a little operating in the North American cuso party over the weekend CW and that was pretty fun. There was a lot of activity. The band, yeah have been quite good. So working a little bit of DX here and there. Also I got on the bozonet yesterday evening which was on Mondays. It's the first hour is 2 meter single side band and the second hour is 6 meter single side down and I got on for the 6 meter net and that's always kind of interesting just to hear what. What propagation is like. Typically not enhanced propagation but just to kind of hear locally how far the signals are going. So that was kind of fun. And yeah, looking forward to the next North American cuso party, which I think the sizean version is this coming weekend. So that's the cusp. That should be fun and very, very neat to hear that Gears is going to be doing a winter field day operation combined with a poda. Wish I could be around for that, but maybe I'll. Maybe I'll work the W6RHC station in the event, at least on the air there. So that's it from me, say 73 and hope you all have a good evening safe and quietly.

Hey, thanks Jevin. That sounds, that's interesting that you got on the bozonet for 6 meters. Did you hear many people on there? And were you able to communicate at any distance? So physically I can. I can hear fairly strong stations around Santa Cruz County. Interestingly, I didn't hear those local guys, but I did talk to someone over in Fresno. So a fair little hop there on six meters for ground waves. Well, that's cool. All the way to Fresno. That's pretty good. And were there many people participating in the net? How many would you say? Maybe a half dozen. I think it varies from night to night. I think the most active nights are the 2 meter. The 2 meter net, less so for 6 meters. And there's a 4:40 evening. I think they have a 220 net one day a week and a 1296 net one night a week which gives a little bit less activity. Hey, well, real good. Thanks for the report on the bozonet. Yes, anyone's interested, they. They can look that up. Bozo, like Bozo the Clown. Vo Co. And I think there's at least one. One net every night maybe. I was trying to connect with it oh a year or so ago and never had any success. I could never hear them. I didn't try that many times. But anyway, good deal, Jevin. That's great. Okay, next is Mike KG7HSY. Is that your call correct? That is correct. Kilo Golf 7 Hotel Sierra Yankee. This is my second time on the net. I checked in I think two weeks ago. I'm here visiting, taking care of a relative that's recovering from heart surgery. And I'll actually be leaving. Head back to Arizona on Thursday, but just thought I'd check in one last time. Okay, well great. It's great, great to hear from you. And you know you could like. Jevin down is down in Santa Cruz county, checking in through Echo link. You could do that from Arizona too if you, if you start missing us. What part of Arizona do you live in, Mike? Southeast of Phoenix, just over the Lion. Pinal County. Town called San Tan Valley. Okay, great. And what kind of hamming do you do from there? I have not. I've been there about six years and I haven't been terribly active. I haven't been active with a club. I moved there from Reno where I lived for 20 odd years and I was very active with the Sierra Nevada Amateur Radio Society over there and their repeater network stretched across the state. But I haven't done a whole lot. I'm just. I've Retired about a year now and I'm starting to get active again and you know, see what I can do. Okay, well, good deal. It's nice to hear from you and hear from someone from Arizona who's in town. I like to do contests a lot and one of the ones I one of my favorites is the Arizona Cuso party and there's quite a lot of activity in that. It's pretty easy to work guys from California over there, so always enjoy that. Great. Well, it's great you're taking care of, taking care of someone who's recovering and have a good trip back. Thanks for the check in. Okay, last on our list is Hilo, November 6th, Juliet Hotel Tango. What's going on, Chris? Yeah, this is KN6JHT Chris and Chico. Not a whole long whole lot going on this week, but really enjoyed the club breakfast last Saturday and got to meet Mel and it's always good to see everybody. Everybody there. I know I bring my son and he really enjoys it. He talks about ham breakfast all week and when given the option of breakfast meat and sausage or bacon or ham, he enthusiastically said ham this week. So I thought that was funny. I got the I purchased the Roth Mills antenna book. It's the first time it's been translated. First edition, translated from German to English. So I've been digging through that and there's some interesting gems. It's a little bit more technical and just down to the equations rather than practical building like the aarl's antenna book. But there's some real gems in there so maybe I'll pick one out and try to build it for the 24th Winter Field Day POTA. Or. Or I might just go back to my previous plans and try making a delta loop. I think a 20 meter delta loop might be fun for that photo is always an opportunity. I enjoy to to build an antenna and see if it works and bring a backup of course. But yeah, when you're out in the field, yeah, something about it makes you want to experiment. I did a survey today up on Carpenter's Ridge off 32 for Butte County. It was pretty cool. There's an existing antenna site and they're going to build a new tower and a vault up there. So we did the survey for that and it was really good views. I could see the Trinity Alps, Mount Shasta and Lassen all in one view. It was really beautiful. I brought my meshtastic node and saw a lot of nodes I hadn't previously seen and signals were great up there. Wish I had a little Bit more time to bring a radio and you know, do a little quick activity and see what's on. See what I could reach on 520. But I was working and it, it didn't lend itself to that. That's about it for me. Not a whole lot of operating over here. Try to do a little bit, make a couple CW POTA contacts every week while I'm cooking dinner. But really looking forward to the PODA and seeing the guys and getting out in the field. Back to you, Larry. Thanks for running the net. This is Can6JHT, Chris and Chico. Okay, thanks. Real good, Chris. Carpenter Ridge, you said? Whereabouts is that? It sounds like it must be pretty high. Yeah, it's a good ways up. It's off. You go up 32 and then take the turn for Butte Meadows. And it's probably 10 miles up on the Butte Meadow Road. And then it goes into some Sierra Pacific land. Then there's a ridge up there that overlooks the road and has a really beautiful vista. And right at the top of the. Right at the top of the topo there they have a small antenna site where they're gonna put in a new. A new large tower similar to the site. A little bit above the fire station on 32 on the left there's. There's a pretty big tower. It's about a 10 foot by 10 foot base footprint. So they're going to kind of duplicate that site up there. And so we were running a. We were in just a base map survey to check that out. So I think it was about 5,000ft elevation. Wow, real good. Well, since you did some of the work, maybe they would reward us by letting you put a antenna up there that we could use remotely. What do you think? Always encouraging for the club, but yeah, this is, this is just infrastructure. I think up here. Those guys, they get pretty serious up there with their antennas. But I know that there's. There's another site we've been working on actually on St. John's right around, I think, our existing end repeater. So we're doing a site improvement over there as well. So maybe, maybe I'll meet one of these radio guys that are in charge of something on my site, visits up there and start making some useful contacts for the club. Yeah, that would be great. You got a foot in the door there. I know a guy in another club. He lives down in the Bay Area and he did some work for, I think with the Forest Service. And he got permission to put an antenna, a ham antenna up near their site where they were doing the work and he uses it remotely. It's a pretty. Worked out really well for him because he's in a. In one of those hoa neighborhood. Can't do much from his house anyway. That's great. And one other thing. You said your son ordered a ham sandwich and he's talking ham ham. When's he gonna demand you teach him and get a license for him? Well, he's always reaching for the radios when I'm on and he likes to sit on my lap while I'm. While I'm scanning the HF bands and always reaching for the handhelds. And I said as soon as you get your license, you'll get your own. And he turns three in two months. So I'm thinking maybe two years or so from now. I think the youngest is. I know there's some real young kids that have gotten their technician, but five or six maybe we'll start studying for his test. I always try to encourage it and hope he wants to stay interested in it. So I'll do what I can. Hey. Yeah. Well, good deal. I guess three is a little early to start, but I think it probably won't be too long before we'll be seeing him operating at Field Day and ordering ham at the Ham at the Gears. Breakfast is a definitely a good start. Is there anybody else who showed up late and wants to check in before we close tonight's net? Does anybody have any additional comments or questions before we close? If so, just respond with your call sign. Well, I think that's about it then. This concludes this week's question.
