Katie6 Lok. Doug, go ahead. Thank you. I've got a couple of pieces of tripod tower parts here and I'm looking for some bases. I've got a top for a top for one of them. And I went out the other day and fooled around with it and measured and looks like all the pieces I have are the same symmetrical distances. But I need a couple of bases. Anybody know how or where I might get some bases for those? I don't know what the towers are, whether they're own or whatever else. But I do need some bases. That is a request I don't think I've heard before on this, on this net. I'm curious about how big are these towers you're talking about, as far as base dimensions go? Well, I'm making a wild guess. I haven't gone out there with a tape measure. And that's the thing to be doing tomorrow, probably is. I'm gonna guess There are about 10 inches between the tripods, between the legs. I was on another net last night, or night before anyway, and brought it up there and they suggested that I just start asking around. So that's one reason I'm bringing it to you. And yeah, Doug's been known to do the odds. So I'd appreciate anything that anybody might have some information. Well, very good, Doug. I think probably keep bringing that up until you get what you're looking for. Any other. Any other items for swap segment? All right, before we start the roundtable, would anyone else like to check in? Okay, hearing none. Let's start with the route table. And we'll start with me, Jamie, here in Chico. You know, I have. I have barely left the house and the last couple of days I've just had a lot of stuff around here to do, barely getting out and hardly even turned on a radio. So I guess that's all I have to report. Moving down the list here, let's go to K6 EST. Jim. This is Jim. K6 EST in South Chico. Jamie, thank you for doing the Net tonight. And I've been experimenting with a crossbed repeater, a Tank Tyt handheld. And it's not working out very well for me. I'm doing something wrong. So I guess Glenn is going to talk about crossbed repeaters at the next meeting later this month. So hopefully he can help me with some of his knowledge and wisdom. Back to you, Jamie. Thanks, Jim. And I gotta say, I'm interested to see how that goes. It'd be worth picking up an inexpensive HD to, to see if I can work the magic that Glenn imparts on us. Let me see. I got a lot of in and outs tonight, But I see. KC6UFE, you're next up. KC6UFE, Bill and Cape. Good evening to the group and well, I've been enjoying this recent spate of Echo class flares and quite the collection there. It's really helping me with my winter tan. So looking forward to a couple more. And for those of you that notice that my voice is changing I guess my first thought was, well, it's about time. So anyway, it has to do with two things. One, I'm suffering a little bit from the pollen count. Being up makes me a little stuffy. And the other thing is I'm in the process of having an implant put in the front of my teeth. I lost an incisor, so I got a contraption in my mouth. I call it a plate and fake tooth. And all that. Takes about four months to get one of those things done. It's not as easy as you think. Anyway, it's taken about half of my. My Alphabet away, so I have a hard time talking. My tongue doesn't know what to do. Anyway, that's about it. I'm fine, so not to worry. And back to net KC6UFE. Well, Bill, I hope that works out for you pretty well. Gee, it's. That's. That's got to be. That's got to be tough on the teeth, but. Yeah, I noticed your voice sound a little rough the other day. I figured you mentioned something about cold or something this time of year and maybe a little later in the year. I want to say it's the walnut trees or something, but there is something here that gets to me too. Live right in the middle of an almond orchard and they're just now coming on. So it gets me every year. Right now my eyes are just watering like crazy. So back it. Well, if it's not the solar radiation, it's the pollen, right? One thing or the other. Well, see, I'm looking down my list here, and I don't have anyone else that is checked in for the round Table. Pretty short one this evening. So, Alaska, are there any additional comments or questions or did I miss somebody? If you have a comment or question or I missed you, please come now with your call sign. Okay, Larry. Ncx. My apologies, Larry. I just saw my cursor was sitting right on top of your. Your call sign. I just went right through it. KF6NCX. Larry, what you got? Yeah, Jamie, I knew something was putting a lot of pressure on my head. It was that darn cursor, huh? Okay. It feels a lot better now that you moved it. Yeah, this is Larry, KF6NCX, and Chico. Sorry to hear about Bill's situation, but fortunately he still got cw. The talking isn't going so well. This weekend is the beginning, I guess, of what you would call the state cuso party season. They'll be happening pretty regularly from now till kind of late in the year. This weekend is Minnesota's event and British Columbia's, which should be good for us, and Vermont, which is kind of a stretch. But I think it goes on all weekend, so that's a good thing. Last weekend was the single side band Sprint for about four hours Friday night or Saturday night, I guess it was, and I thought I would give that a try. It didn't go so well for me. I guess I'm out of practice. Practice tuning in stations and had a hard time tuning these guys in so that I could hear them. My idea was to operate for an hour or a little more. First half hour I only made one cuso and the second half hour went better. I made I think eight or eight in that half hour. And that was because I was calling cq. So those guys, the other guys had to tune me in and I didn't have to do the tuning. So I guess I'll have to work on that some. This weekend is a cw, CW version of the same Sprint. So I'm gonna give that a try some and hopefully it will go better than the single sideband one did. I think that's about it for me. Bill was talking about the flares from the sun and I was reading today that this enormous sunspot is facing right at us and will be looking at us all week. So I guess we could get more, more problems from them. Hopefully won't happen on the weekend, but I guess you never know. Okay, Jamie, thank you. And back to you. This is Larry, KF6NCX. Hey, Larry, a quick question. So you said you were having problems tuning, tuning in on ssv. I was going to ask you what power you were running, but I guess it sounds like hearing them was the problem. Yeah, the problem wasn't really. It was trying to hear them clearly. You know, I tune around and it just, it takes time for me anyway to get it tuned just right to where first you hear sort of a buzz and you say, oh, there's somebody on the, on the band right there. And then I would start moving it to try to make the buzz turn into a voice that was nice and clear and audible. Well, the thing, I guess in a regular single sideband contest, there's somebody sitting on a base band calling CQ over and over and over. So you hear the buzz. You can tune him in and he's there for a long time and you can tune him just right and then finally give him a call.

But in this Sprint, they have a funny rule where somebody who's calling CQ after he makes a contact, he has to move off the frequency at least 5 kilohertz. And usually the guy he was working then starts calling cue. So you don't get that opportunity for a long time to tune the guy in. So if I'd hear someone calling CQ and I'd start trying to tune him in, it took me so long to tune him in, by the time I would hear him, somebody else would have gotten him and was working him. So it was a tough proposition. I don't know why I had such a hard time. Maybe I'm just out of practice because I haven't been doing single side band much. That was. That was a sad story. Okay, back to you, Jamie. Well, I suppose if they were saying da, da, da, da, you'd probably tune them in faster. Well, that is the list as I have it for the roundtable. Anybody else there that I missed or any late comments or check ins. J6ylh, K6ylh. Go ahead. Coming in tonight via EchoLink and Palo Alto, California on my smartphone with Michael. So I need to get to the net here and sorry I'm checking in a little bit late, but yeah, just wanted to wish everyone a good evening and a happy rest of the week. This is K6 mileage. Hey, Jevin, it's good to hear from you. The beginning of your transmission there was pretty rough, but by the end of it, you were coming in quite clear. So good signal. Toward the end of the transmission you said you're on your smartphone via web hookup. With the Echo app and Then connected to WA7 spy, which is node that's hooked up to the gears repeater. So pretty cool technology. ASX by lh. That is pretty cool. And I'll say again, at the very beginning of your transmission, it was very weak, but within a second or two it got a lot clearer. So maybe that's something on the Internet that I'm going to building up voice samples or something. I don't know. Okay, any additional comments or questions? Anybody else want to check in late? Okay. Hearing none. This concludes this week's Golden Empire Amateur Radio Society Club Net. I'd like to thank everyone who checked in tonight and you are invited back next week.
