Qst, qst, qst. This is K6est. Jim, your net control for tonight's Golden Empire Amateur Radio Society Club net. Now, this net meets each and every Tuesday evening at 7:30pm right here on the W6RHC repeater for the purpose of fellowship and public service through amateur radio. Do we have any station with emergency or priority traffic? Do we have any general announcements for the net? KN6 Pww. Go ahead, Jamie. I'd like to remind you all that signups for the Wildflower Bicycle Ride support are coming up. I'll be sending out new notices this week. I encourage you all to consider supporting the ride. It's a good chance to get out and, you know, operate in the field in a, in a real support situation. And it's kind of fun. So anyway, expect to see notices out late this week. KN6PWW. Jamie, indeed. The Wildflower is a lot of fun. And you get a free T shirt also. So contact Jamie about it. No experience necessary. And if you don't have a portable radio, we can help you out with that, too. Also, Jamie, don't we have a PODA coming up this weekend? Let me see. You caught me out. I think POTA is the 28th, but I'm absolutely not sure about that. So I'll have to have to check with Chris on that. Can6pww. All right, we'll let you know. Any other announcements for the Net. All right, then, let's do roll call. Jamie, I'll put you down as in jim. He took my question from last week about the tower pieces and asked people maybe around the world. I didn't pay attention to where all the call signs came from got some good answers, some good ideas and also got some pretty rude comments. But we know that that's what people are so. But thanks Larry, I do appreciate it. Seven three all I'll be in and out tonight. Jim, Katie six lok, thank you very much. Doug N60 UK. Good evening Jim and the Net60 UK here. K06miv heather, That is the list as I have it. Is there anybody I missed or any late check ins? All right then how about the SWAT segment? Does anybody have any ham radio related items they'd like to buy, sell, trade, want, need or give away? Please come with your call sign. All right, nothing hurts. So Jamie, K06PWW, you're up. This is K6DWW, Jamie and Chico. Not a lot of radio. I have spent a few days on the coast which with family and just having a good old time in Fort Bragg even though it was dumping rain when it got to be too bad to go outside. We stayed in the hotel room, a bunch of us and ate good food and watched the Olympics. So that's about all I've been up to. KN6PWW back to control. Jamie, thank you for the check in and hopefully you had a good time out there on the coast. Jim, K6 EST is calling roll. I had a really good time at the meeting last night. We talked about cross band repeaters. I will put information in the radiator, next month's radiator about crossbands because they are interesting and valuable tool for operators. All right, Larry, KF6NCX. Larry, KF6NCX. Good evening Jim and Dannette. Well, let's see the Run for the Bacon QRP contest happened Sunday evening for a couple of hours and I think propagation was pretty good. With 5 watts I was able to work New York and Connecticut and Louisiana and closer to home our own President Chris Koenig, KK70 Nig. So that was fun. Getting ready for the big DX contest, the ARRL International DXCW contest this weekend. Jevons coming up for that. We're gonna operate over the weekend. I started putting up the Buddy Hex during breaks in the rain today. We had a good CW net last Thursday with about six participants I think and hope for another good one this Thursday. That's at 3:30pm on the 40 meter band 7.052 and one other interesting thing I've been emailing a little bit with a long time Gears member hasn't been involved with the club for a long time but he was there back in the early days. That's Jerry Fuller. You might have read about him w6jry. He was the subject of a newspaper article in the ER a couple of weeks ago and Jerry sent me a picture of a Gears looked like maybe taken at a barbecue or something like that back in gift in Midwell park with in about 1950. All these hams are lined up for this photo and there's Bill Pope, not quite 30 years old at that point. So it's great to see that photo. Okay, that's about it for me. Back to you Jim. This is Larry, KF6NCX. Thank you very much Larry. How about Tom W6JS? Good evening Jim. This is Tom W6JS. I've commented on the Monday night. It was great. It was nice to see a couple new hamsters there coming to the club meeting. That's good until I got this is Tom W6Js. We're clear. Thank you Tom. It was good to see you at the meeting last night as well. Bill KEC6UFE, C6UFE. Bill and Cape. I enjoyed the meeting as well. I enjoyed a little bit of structure to it that way I know what day, month and year it is. So other than that I don't know if you're anybody's interested in the old Wolfman Jack shows. The station out of Fresno on AM940 is playing them Friday and Saturday night. It was kind of interesting. And other than that just back to net KC6UFE. Good old Wolfman Jack on XBRB was it. I used to listen to him on late night drives around up and down the State. So that was the old name from the past. All right, how about Chris KN6JHT? Yeah, good Evening, this is Chris KN6JHT. Really nice meeting last night. Had a good time. So did my wife. It was good seeing everybody. And then it got me motivated to get back in action and start building some antennas and start playing with radio a little bit more, you know, the ebb and flow of motivation. So today I made a QRP rated N fed half wave from the QRP guys kit for 20 meters and I linked it for 40 meters as well. So with the bullet connectors. And then I needed some antenna insulators. So I designed some quick antenna insulators on Fusion360 CAD and one for wire to wire for bullet connectors and one for wire to rope for the end of it. And I 3D printed those up and they worked pretty good for the, for the small gauge wire I was using. So pretty happy with that. And then I think tomorrow and the next week I'm going to make a ladder line J pole and probably a 10 meter dipole for the poda in case because I hear we might have some technicians coming to the poda on the 28th. So want to make sure we have some gear to make them feel successful and maybe get some contacts. So I think, I think, I think there was some conversation earlier. I believe the poda is set for the 28th at 2pm at least that's when I'll be here there unless I hear otherwise. So that's it for me. KN6JHT. Back to net control. Hey, thank you very much, Chris. And hopefully we will have some of our, our new operators out there and they can, they can try their hand at pota. So thank you very much. That is the list as I have it. Do we have any late check ins, any visitors or anyone else, please come now with your call sign. All right, nothing hurts. So any final comments? Anyone have anything to add before we close the net? Come with your call sign, KF6NCX. Larry, go ahead. Well, it's exciting to hear that Chris has made some QRP antennas and it sounds like he might be a possible recruit for the Flying Pigs QRP club. No fee to join and we could use some more operators in the, what we call the Western pig pen. That's the flying pigs that live out west. We could use some more of those for the monthly run for the bacon and the walk for the bacon. So you might want to give a thought, you might want to give a thought to that, Chris. Okay, back to you, Jim. This is KF6NCX. Any other comments? Come now. Go ahead, Chris. Yeah, thanks for that comment, Larry. I think, I think I will. I think I'll be having some more free time and then next upcoming months. And just from the names alone and how much I get a chuckle out of when you talk, you and Chris Koenig talk about it. I'll check out their website and I'll probably join up. Just they got me in the marketing, so to speak. That's it for me. K and 6 change to you. Back to you, Jim. Thank you, Chris. Anybody else? Any more comments? Nothing ahead. So this concludes this week's Golden Empire Amateur Radio Society Club Net. I want to thank each and every one of you who checked in and of course you're invited back next week at the same time and same frequency. This is Jim K6est closing the net at 7:47pm K6est is clear.
