Hearing? None. Let's go up to Bob and Elk Creek on the talk back and find out what's going on up there. KC6UIs. Yeah, KC6UIs. Well, I think I mentioned last week that my generator failed. And I've been working on it. And I got. Friday I got my new battery installed and buttoned her up and everything was back running again, I thought. And during my Sunday night American Legion Net, or Sunday afternoon American Legion Net, we had a power outage and I went, oh, my God, please start. Please start. Because when my station runs on batteries, my amplifier needs 240 volts. So everything was running except for I didn't have my amplifier anymore.
Took about 11 seconds and the generator started up and everything came back online. And I was one happy camper that I got her all fixed. So there's a success story and just another little, little hint that we should all be checking our backup stuff that we don't look at very often. KC6UAS back to net. Yes, thank you, Bob, for that and those reminders. And I'm glad to hear that. In fact, I was listening and ready to check into your net yesterday evening or afternoon. And the power went out here, too, at the qth. It seems like Glenn county got hit kind of all over. I think it was a switching thing that PG was doing because there was no.
Schedule that I know of. And there was no outage information posted by PG&E. So it must have been a wide area. And my generator started too, and of course it crashed my computers and my repeaters and everything else going on here. And I had to actually get those all back online. But it was great that during the net you were able to still hear and maintain control. And when the power came back, everything was fine. In fact, it was an excellent net yesterday, Bob. Thank you. And yeah, I hadn't heard any report on what it was, so thank you for that synopsis on what could happen.
Yeah. On the analysis there, that's just my suspicions. With all the fires we've had, the operations switching operations have changed. And so I think we're going to see more of those kinds of outages in the future. Unless something really changes with the PGD system. Got a mosquito trying to carry me off here anyway. Yeah. So we just have to be prepared for that and handle the issues that come about by a power cycle. In fact, my swimming pool equipment has been taking big hits. And with the power outage and the generator and power coming back, I'm having to go out and reset the date and time on the main pump. Fun business.
Okay. The only other thing I have is, you know, last Monday, Phil was having problems with checking in and my signal breaking up to him when everybody else was hearing me. Okay. And so I took down the antenna on his remote system, his VHF UHF antenna, and found the connector slightly loose. But the main thing was that the main element, it's a J pole, homemade, had come loose in the bracket with the vibration of the wind and everything. And so it was actually shorting out periodically and didn't bother the radio too much. But it got tightened up today and reinstall.
And tested and everything is fine. As you heard tonight, Phil is quite clear and he was hearing the net quite clear. So that's problem solved. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. Always meeting, especially antennas and feed lines. We got to check them periodically to make sure that they are intact and working as advertised. Okay, let's go to Phil Ki6 SMN and hear about this exercise that he is putting together. Aquilo, India 6 Sierra, Mike November here. First of all, thank you to KF6RBI for doing that maintenance work. And indeed, things are working well tonight on vhf. And then before I get into the exercise dialogue.
We have been able to get a Thrive in Action team for the December 7 gathering. Which part of that will result in there being a couple of drawings? And the total amount of the items for the drawings is 175. So if you haven't signed up yet for the December 7th gathering, please do so and let it drop and come back. Next item then, specifically about the exercise project. I'm working on the idea of making a little bit more progress now, getting some documentation put together that will describe how the exercises will work. The idea is on a quarterly basis to have a specific scenario that's going on and those stations wishing to participate in the exercise than demonstrating. Not demonstrating, but.
Discovering whether the equipment is working in a helpful way, plus getting some practice in what to do when you've got a real type event going on, they're going to let it drop and come back. And thanks also to kf6rbi hoping to have some antenna capabilities that we will not only involve stations here locally in our area, but through HF as far east and west as the carrier will take the signal given helpful propagation situation. So at any rate, progress is being made and I'll keep you posted as things go along. It probably will not be until after the first of the year where we'll actually do the first exercise with that. Back to that, this is KI6SMN.
Okay, Phil, thank you for that. And we'll be anxiously awaiting the exercise documents and the planning. I've already started working on getting HF antenna set up for you and been also working on the other mini computer for the right hand station. That's the curbside station in the drt and taking my mini computer out of there. So this one will be set up and easy to get into and with no, actually no credentials to log in, like the street side station. Okay. Do we have any other.
Members wishing or those listening on the net that have any things they would like to discuss or bring forward comments or suggestions, please come now. Last call for late members or guests wishing to check in to the Gars money.net please come now. Comment yes, go Comment. Yeah, this is AM6 of a little bit of static. I can't tell whether it's I believe it's on your signal, Mike or Peter, but it's not really.
Real bad, but a little bit of almost like. Okay, Joe, it's funny you were saying that because your signal was pretty. Had a pretty good amount of static with it, too. So I think it is a propagation issue at the repeater. We do have fog that's starting to come in, so. And we've been having fog over the last few nights and we have it again tonight with us. So I don't know what to say at this point. Yeah, this is ian. A6o a, not joe. Yeah, just a comment. Just a comment. Roger that. Thank you. Okay.
One last call for Light members or guests wishing to check in before we close the net. Hearing None. This concludes the GAR's Monday Night NetControl. Would like to thank everyone who checked in tonight as well as Gary for the use of the W6 DRC Red Mountain Repeater. We hope you'll join us next week. This is Mike KF6 Obi Willows returning the W6 TRC repeater to its normal service. 73 to all and very blessed Thanksgiving week. This is Mike KF6 Obi in Willows signing clear.
