Speaker A: Push a bunch of turn knobs. Everything else ke6jds.
Speaker B: Okay, well, I got over here. I just takes me a second to switching into the VFO real quick. Anyway, how you doing there, Mark?
Speaker A: Oh, everything seems to be pretty good. Keeping up with the chores. Got the cow to milk and trying to work a little fishing in here and there. Fishing for. It's fun to be on the river. So. Yeah, it rains good. Can't complain.
Speaker B: Yeah, you see, you know, you hear at the end of the tone there, you hear the like, you know, two tones. And earlier this morning I was telling Jeremy I was only hearing one tone. He said that's the way it is. But I don't know. Now I'm getting out there and getting in and I hear it and I get the two tones.
Speaker A: Yeah, I wonder how quick, if you're really quick on the mic, are you hearing everything I'm saying? So if I keyed up and start talking right away, you hear what I'm saying, correct?
Speaker B: Well, I've been waiting like a maybe a little partial bit of a second before I talk, but I don't always do that. I'm out of practice of doing it right. But anyway, I think I've been hearing everything you're saying so far. Oh, good.
Speaker A: Yeah, but we got a lot of mosquitoes around here. Anyway, everything's going good. Got a dinner call here pretty quick and supper. But yeah, I'm getting caught up. We're falling behind. I think it's the same, isn't it?
Speaker B: Well, I'm getting more done this winter than I did last winter, so that's a good thing, I think. And the mosquitoes are representative of like I just don't buy a big puddle of water out here in my Butte college. So at my house even I collect some rainwater and so I have a few of those barrels open and you know, I've been noticing mosquitoes coming around too. I think it's a little early for them but unfortunately with some of this not having rain they're able to and the weather's been pretty warm. It seems like comparatively speaking that they can have extra mosquitoes.
Speaker A: Well, there's plenty over here. I don't know. Mosquito embatement needs to come spray. I don't think they will. I think they just a little too early. But yeah, it's just the. It must be global warming or it couldn't be climate change. It's got to be something to do with that. We need to pay more taxes. So I'm thinking if we paid more Taxes, the weather would be just perfect.
Speaker B: Well, it could be because they would take your tax money and load up the planes with extra chemicals to spray overhead, you know, and then that would develop the weather that they would like for you. So maybe you're right. We need to pay more taxes so they can do that. Yep. It's going to warm up enough that Greenland will no longer be a whole bunch of ice. It'll be a nice area, like parts of Canada where you can even grow some food. So that's why we're going to go take it from them pretty soon.
Speaker A: Well, maybe we'll see what happens on that. I wouldn't hold your breath, but everything is good here. I just heard you on the radio. Wanted to say hi and go get some supper.
Speaker B: Yeah. While I'm headed home, I think we're gonna have some tacos. You know, we get those. Get like a rotisserie chicken.
Speaker A: Oh.
Speaker B: Every once in a while and. Yeah. Then we end up turning part of it into taco meat, you know, and. Pretty good. But anyway, so looking forward to that.
Speaker A: Those are pretty good chickens. I've gone camping a couple times and grabbed one and get up there where I'm camping and pulled out and it's still pretty warm. Pick the breast apart. It lasts for a few meals. It's super simple. Well, I was still on scan, so I missed what you said. All right, steven, I'm gonna get my supper here. Ke6jbs73.
Speaker B: Well, thanks, Mark. I'm sorry, I'm just driving and I got a quick phone call had to take. But anyway. Yeah, so appreciate you coming back to me and talking to me a little bit while I drive. And I appreciate that. So hopefully I'll catch you on, oh, maybe 2 meters or 70 centimeters in the morning. One of these days I'll put a call out again and see if you're around. But nice chat with you and hope all is well and you get a lot done. KN6 MGK mobile.
Speaker A: Right. Hey. Yeah, I'm gonna go get my plate full. It's gonna be good. I think it's gonna be some vegetables
Speaker B: and
Speaker A: meatloaf and some other stuff.
Speaker B: Okay. Yep. Well, you were pretty light on that one. The audio is already pretty low for. For me driving. But anyway, I think I heard you say something about getting a plate of meatloaf, so that sounds good. 73kn6MGK.
Speaker A: Kn6mgk.kn6otg.

Speaker A: Good morning. It's the Coffee breaknet on the W6EK repeater. I am Tom NN6H November November 6 Hotel located in Discovery Bay which is in Northern California. And I am your net host for Friday, February 6, 2026. The Coffee Breaknet is where the sun is always shining, the birds are singing and the fish are jumping and it's a nice day here in Discovery Bay. Or we had fogged the last couple days and that gone away. So it's looks like a partially clear morning. So it should be a good day here. So hopefully it's good where you're at. We do this Coffee Breaknet every morning from 7:30 until 10am on the W6EK repeater that specific time, by the way, the W6.8K repeater all star node 51018 and on EchoLink. And this net is just a ragtue net. We do talk about different topics or we also do some quick in and outs if you just want to get yourself going there. Let me go through and sometimes I tend to forget this. So let me go through the national days in case maybe that spurs from conversation. It is National Bubblegum Day. It's National Frozen Yogurt Day. It's National Chopsticks Day. It's National Lame Duck Day. It's National Valentine's Shopping Reminder day. Yeah, Valentine's Day is coming up next. Next week it's Pay a compliment Day. It's let's see what else we have here. It's Working Naked Day. So I'm celebrating that one this morning. You can use your imagination for that. And it's also time to talk day. So time to talk. So it is time to talk. So I will give you this. We'll do some quick in and outs for the Coffee breaknet. Who's out there? This is Tom NN6H. Kw for you.
Speaker B: King william for uniform.
Speaker C: M60kv.
Speaker A: Okay I got n6ckv. Carl, I got w kw4u john and I got kj5gwn. Will, your. Your transmission was not very audible. I just could. I couldn't recognize the voice here anyway then I have another station here and I'll come back to you in here. I will. I have a wa2 iwc. Were you trying to check in? I saw you come up on. Okay, I guess not anybody else that I'm missing from this group this morning. Quick and announce. Good morning.
Speaker D: Kilo Oscar six Kilo Micromio.
Speaker A: Over. All right, K06 KMR. Got you there. I think that's. That's Robert. All right, let me go with this. And so let me go to Will here. Will, there's still a short transmission there because I said you weren't very audible before.
Speaker E: So.
Speaker A: KJ5GWN and then 6H. Yeah, Will, I heard you come up. I mean you came up carrier wise, but there was no auto. So you might want to go ahead and disconnect and restart your repeater phone or whatever app you're using there and I'll come back to you at the end of this round here. So anyway, sorry about that, Will. All right, so let me go to John. KW4U. Good morning and happy Friday, Alabama Friday.
Speaker B: Hey Tom, Nice to know I'm almost honoring Go to Work Naked day because I work from home just in my underwear. Probably no one needed to know that, but didn't get dressed yet. Dog got me up and I decided to come into the home office. But after this I'll go in and throw on some clothes. There you go. Anyway, we're not on video.
Speaker C: That's a good thing.
Speaker B: Might violate 47 CFR 97.119. I think that's the one that deals with obscenity.
Speaker F: Hi.
Speaker B: Not too much today. I've been dragging my feet on certain things that I need to stop dragging my feet on, but that's about all supposed to go up into the high 70s today here in Tucson, so we
Speaker A: like that KW for you back tonight. Okay, very good there, John. Well, this is not video and that was probably a little too much information, but that's okay. But I guess I probably gave out too much information myself. Very good. Well, I'm glad you and I enjoy a nice day there in the 70s. Yeah, it was going to be. I haven't looked at the forecast here and I'll probably get it from Mark when he checks in, but I think yesterday it was nice at least mid-60s, so I think that's good. And we had fog that kind of burned off in around noon time. Pretty good. Well, hopefully you have a great day there, John. And yeah, maybe put some clothes on.
Speaker C: Roger that.
Speaker B: It's sort of, you know, the nights go down into the 40s, so it's a little cool in the house even though we got heat on. So if only to counteract the called, I think I'm.
Speaker A: Okay. Sound like a good deal there. Anyway, well, enjoy, enjoy those and I guess we'll talk to you next time.kw4u and n6h.
Speaker B: Yeah, like I was saying that with the cold, you know, makes sense to get some more clothes on. So we'll do that. We'll take the iPhone with me since I'm listening on repeaterphone, interacting with repeaterphone kw for you.
Speaker A: All right, very good there, John and good, good to talk to you and
Speaker C: good to hear you again.
Speaker A: All right, next going down to Carl M6 CKV. Good morning, Carl.
Speaker C: Good morning, Tom and everyone else out there. Not much going on today.
Speaker A: Have a plumber coming to do some work.
Speaker C: I had something done to my back so I can't bend. So I can't do the work myself. So I've got a plumber coming. Other than that, not much going on today. You're gonna enjoy the day. It's gonna be sunny.
Speaker A: Yeah, I think it's nice. I, I think we're supposed to get a, get a change of weather coming here soon, but definitely enjoying the nice weather here and I'm glad that. Have you been having fog there the last few days too?
Speaker C: Yeah, we've been getting fog in Wilton but not today at least hope not.
Speaker A: That's the same. It looks like it's. I could actually see stuff out here, so that's good.
Speaker C: Good.
Speaker A: Well, sorry you hear about your back there and I hope, hope that recovers there and you're able to do stuff and, and you get your, your plumbing project finished there. Anyway, we'll go ahead and clear with you and set it back to final N60kV and N6H.
Speaker C: Okay, 73, everyone is N6 CKV. Have a good Friday and thanks for in the net, Tom. No worries.
Speaker A: Hi, very good there, Carl, and good to hear yours too. And thanks for, for always being there and checking in. All right, clearing with Carl. Next we have Robert Ko 6 KMR. Good morning. And what do you have for this Aloha Friday?
Speaker D: Well, good morning. Gonna start off my day going to the gym as usual and gonna come back in and do a little review on the extra class manual real quick. And then I think I'm going to head over to HRO and start looking at radios, kind of play with them up there at the shop and kind of get an idea of what I might want and talk with those guys. But that's pretty much going to be
Speaker E: my day right there.
Speaker D: Then come back and do some more extra class review and go from there over.
Speaker A: Right, Very good. Well, I think that's a nice thing to do. Kind of figure out just kind of what you want and yeah, talk, talk to the guys at hro. They're very helpful. You can kind of play with the radio there.
Speaker C: Also.
Speaker A: Just a reminder to you and also everybody that you know, Ham fest is coming up March 28, the Loomis ham Fest, which is the first ham fest in of the year in Northern California, and that's coming up in Loomis. That's also a great place to, you know, maybe find a user radio. You find something you like or kind
Speaker E: of research a lot of that stuff
Speaker A: and maybe you'll find something that you like there. Maybe get a used radio. That's what you're in the market for there. Robert?
Speaker D: Yeah, that's a good idea. I'm actually volunteering for that, the setup
Speaker A: crew in the morning.
Speaker D: So I will be there pretty early to look at the stuff over.
Speaker A: Yeah. And since you kind of do the hobby, you might want to take advantage of the ELM program they have where they take you around and explain different things. So you could actually get an ELM or, you know, for a half hour to go around and kind of show you the different radios and maybe can
Speaker D: make some suggestions to you.
Speaker A: So that might be another way of going. I know the impulse of going to HRO and wanting to money down for a brand new shiny radio is tempting, but, you know, maybe kind of holding off a little bit might be prudent.
Speaker D: Oh, yeah. I'm not going to make any rash decisions, that's for sure. If I saw something at the ham fest, that's one thing, but buying a new one would probably be in another two or three months over.
Speaker A: Yeah. And, you know, maybe you could also borrow one from somebody. A lot of people have multiple radios
Speaker D: and stuff, and you could also just
Speaker A: kind of borrow something and kind of get an idea how well it's going to a noise situation there, which we're trying to get some people to help resolve that. But, you know, you could at least try a radio out and just kind of get the idea before you go out there and put down some money on a more expensive one. So, I mean, that's also an option there. And I'm sure if you talk to us about that, you know, we could probably set something up for you to do there. So anyway, just some ideas here, anyway. Very good. Well, I hope you're gonna have a good day and then I guess enjoy the time going to what we call the candy store.
Speaker E: Hro.
Speaker C: Yeah.
Speaker D: And just a little update here. Brandon Gilbert came out the other day and put his field unit in effect in my backyard. Everything worked out. It worked out in the house. The levels of static, you know, were not anywhere close to what I was experiencing. And he made several contacts, so he said Good to go here over.
Speaker A: Oh that's very good news. Well I'm glad that somebody came out there and helped you there and yeah that was kind of what I was talking about before when you were on the Elmer net there and asking the question is, you know we need to get a kind of a baseline just what if it really is an issue because you had mentioned that you had your Elmer was in the came and he was making contacts out in your front yard on I guess in bubble unit. So that kind of indicated that there wasn't a really high noise level at least not all around your property there. Well very good. I'm glad you got that resolved.
Speaker D: And on that positive note I'm going to go ahead and turn it back over to Matt Kilo Oscar 6Kilo Micromeo and clear over.
Speaker A: Robert well you have a great day there. Have a good day at the gym and also and don't go naked. I mean this is go naked day but on there otherwise you might get some some odd stares here at the gym. Anyway, the 7,306 KMR this is November, November 6th Hotel Tom for the coffee Breaknet. So let me go back to Will and see if Will is has a better connection there. KJ5GWN and N6H.
Speaker F: Good morning.
Speaker C: How about now?
Speaker F: KJ5 Golf Whiskey.
Speaker C: No limbo.
Speaker F: I'm on Echo Link.
Speaker A: Much better. I hear you five and nine.
Speaker F: Okay, there must be something wrong with the repeater prone app or at least my on my particular location. Okay, well not much going on here. Supposed to get up to 70 degrees today so the weather is warming up. We're supposed to have 70 degree weather at least for the weekend. I got a slight chance of rain coming in Tuesday and Friday but other than that not anything much going on here. Tom, this is KJ5 Golfing Skin and Weber. Back to you.
Speaker A: Okay, very good there Will. So I'm sure that you must feel good to get some warm weather and get out of that cold that you had before. So anyway, good to hear that. Good to hear that everything is going good. Yeah sometimes just like when you do the repeater phone or even on Echo link you make a connection and somehow it's just not a good connection and you're just going to have to close the app and then restart it and try again and it works. So you may be fine with the repeater phone there. You might want to come on maybe after the net or do a recheck later and we can give you a clue about that. All right. Anyway I will say 7:3 to you there and thanks for checking in and glad everything is going. It's going well back there.
Speaker C: Will.
Speaker A: KJ5GWN and then 6H.
Speaker F: 73 tom this is kj5 gulf whiskey clear.
Speaker A: All right 730 will. All right, this is the Coffee Brick net on the W60K repeater with a Sun is always shining, the birds are singing and the fish are jumping. We'll go ahead and do another quick round of in and outs. Who's out there? 4 check ins and in 6h KC8
Speaker F: Fox Queen Victor KC8 FQE Mark.
Speaker A: Kilo 11-06-Nov Uniform Foxtrot.
Speaker F: K3 victor golf mike.
Speaker A: Okay, let me reback here. Why who I have here? I got the k3 victor golf mic I got the kn6 nuf I got kc8sqv and at the top there coming on rf that was kind of doubling and I got buffalo there. I think it was ron. K a6u a I anybody that I'm
Speaker B: missing from this group.
Speaker A: Okay, nothing heard. Let me go to the top. Ka6uai Good morning Ron.
Speaker E: Good morning K6uai. Well, not much for the net. I don't know why they put the Work Naked Day in the first week of February, but someone must be having fun with that or having a very warm house.
Speaker A: Yes, are you an honor go to Go to Work Naked Day.
Speaker E: Maybe I'll save that for the summertime. At least in the summertime it's shorts and a tank top or something but the work is just down the hall so no one's gonna care.
Speaker A: Okay, very good. Well anyway, hopefully you can enjoy some of the the other days there too. So. So what do you have going on this Aloha Friday?
Speaker E: Well, hopefully I'll add some aloha spirit to my my work day but I've got my new ultra portable kit pretty much done. I'm waiting for a couple more little parts and backpack is full and the Apache box is all organized and set up. That's about all there is to it. And then my I got a new it's called a DJ gear bag for my heavier kit the one with the
Speaker A: big
Speaker E: rack mount box and large battery and all that sort of thing and used to have a big 60 liter backpack but I boarded the computer over
Speaker A: to it so that took out some
Speaker E: space and just too hard to find what I need to find in that thing DJ box although it seems all flimsy and dividers in it are kind of silly but does divide things and I have little compartments for everything. It's only 10 inches deep or so and you can get the hood of.

Speaker A: You need to and you can see the whole thing. You don't have to dig around in 20 inch long compartments in a backpack.
Speaker B: All right, very good there, Ron. Seemed like you're getting nice and organized. It's nice to have a place for everything. At least know when you, you put everything back, at least you know where it goes and at least have it have its right place here. So that's pretty good. Congratulations on getting that almost finished.
Speaker A: Well, it's becoming more of a necessity. I can't see down in a bag and it's, you know, things are where I can find them without having to see it very well. That helps a lot. I'm trying to remediate the fiasco I had on winter field day of trying to set up two different antennas and my parts and everything where everything, it seems like everything was tangled. If the, if the computer cable got entangled, it would have. Everything else did and couldn't see well enough to untangle. It took me three hours to get my ultralight inverted V antenna untangled. So yeah, I'm going to, going to avoid that sort of thing. And everything is bagged up and wrapped up much more nicely and right where I can find it instead of digging around the bag with that one piece. But I also am going to get my vhf, uhf, little dipole, the Barber Technologies dipole outside today. So I won't have any radio today in the office and I'm checking in
Speaker B: early because of that.
Speaker A: But it's got the cable everything all the way up there. Found the little tube, the standoff tube that I thought I had lost and cut a piece off of it and there it was laying on the, on the miter saw. But you know, got that all set up. All I have to do is hook it up and cut the long coax to the right length and put an end on it and it should be up and running.
Speaker B: Very good. Well, it sounds like you're getting organized there and going to have a good day there. Yeah, it's always nice. I end up putting stuff into little bags and things like that. Just kind of mark those because I hate that when you kind of everything's all meshed together and gets tangled. It's good to be organized and then also helps you when you want to put things back back in that you make sure that you have that you're not leaving anything behind. All right, very good there. Well, anything else further than that before I move on here, Ron. K6UAI and M6 inch.
Speaker A: No, not much. Yeah, I did all the Little baggies and still have the baggies for all the different pieces. And problem was I can remember where I put them sometimes they were organized at one point and they slowly migrated to different parts of the bag. So the this will be much easier. Anyway.
Speaker B: Yeah, everyone have a great Aloha Friday
Speaker A: and nice weekend coming up. So maybe get outside and do something. Ka6uai173.
Speaker B: Very good there, Ron. Yeah, and this is also the super bowl weekend too. So that I'm sure people will be looking at that on Sunday. So yeah, I guess Saturday would be a go out and do things. The weather is good. All right, you take care and we'll talk to you next time and have fun with with your radio stuff there. So according with K6Uai next I have Mark KC8FQV. Good morning, Mark, what do you have for the net on this Aloha Friday.
Speaker C: Okay, seth, Cuby about 18 out here now. You don't want to go over and a 1C since that I don't have to fast for 2 weeks ago we would have pulled it but it was a little too far. It was a little too close to the last time it was. So I'd do it today. I'd be actually one day ahead of schedule if we go three months because the last time was on the 7th of November. So this will work good and they don't have to do it in the office by guy go over to the lab. I would go next week go to the office and she would do it. But I said to the doctor while I was in there for my annual checkup physical, I said, which one doctor is better to machine a 1C or do it with the lab? He said, the lab I think gives you more accuracy. So okay, normally I like to do all the blood work at one time, but it was a couple weeks ahead of schedule. And I said to the girl, I said, oh, we're a little ahead. And she said, well, we'll take it off and it'll be there. I called the day and made sure it was there and yep, it was there in the system. So we'll go over there and leave them do that and I'll have that. And I don't know what the A1 sees over the weekend. And we have to get other things going for them. The computer? Well, yeah, the computer. The pump is a computer. It has to upload everything. We'll start doing that. I want to see when the last time was connected to before I start today. Well, gotta go log into that and See where it last left off when it was doing my uploads. It's been a while because I haven't had the app up and running. Once I bring the app up and run a couple hours it will get everything caught up but everything else is going good. Yeah we got snow coming down now we're going to go another weekend of foul. You know we could get up to 4 inches. Yep. Super Bowls on Sunday and
Speaker D: where I
Speaker C: worked at and where I went to school. A guy graduated in 20 is on the Al Barner he playing for Seattle. So he went to Aurora and graduated in 2020 from high school and went to college. So I believe it was graduated here before my fun boy did. So we'll send it back to Net K Sub QV.
Speaker B: Okay very good there mark. Yeah KC8FQV NN6H well I'm good that you get your A1C and get that tested and also that it's 18 degrees not too warm there. That's how you're getting something more snow so hopefully things are better for you than before. So are you mentioned Warren? I assume that's Warren, Michigan. Are you in near Warren, Michigan?
Speaker C: No, I didn't say nothing about Warren at all. I was saying Washington. I was saying AI Barner he's playing the Super Bowl Sunday this weekend the super bowl on Sunday. So AI or a he Barnard is playing he went to school where I he lives in Aurora. Aurora is where I live and yeah there ain't going to be a Super Bowl Porsche anymore.
Speaker E: Really.
Speaker C: It used to be yeah but now because the commercials everything everyone stayed glued to the TV. But no, I didn't say nothing about Washington in Seattle they're playing and Barnard one of the players on the Seattle team and he graduated from Aurora. Okay self QV.
Speaker B: Yeah I apologize. I for some reason I heard I thought you were mentioning Warren but the reason that my my ex in laws used to live in Warren, Michigan so I've been back there before. So anyway. Anyway, never mind. Yeah so this will be an interesting game. I guess they're going to have a lot of AI commercials and stuff going on on on the game time too so very good. All right Mark, well I'm gonna go ahead here and and sign with you but put it back to you for a final but anyway enjoy the game and hopefully you can weather back there is not going to be too bad at least better than what it has been in the past there and careful anyway KC8 KC8FQV and then 6H73.
Speaker C: All right. F7 3. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, it's gonna be interesting year for tv. It's going to be interesting in life. We were talking about all the computers and AI and all the phone call stuff. So our life is getting interesting and interesting and our grandparents, they're probably turning over in their grave and the case of cue they 7:3.
Speaker B: But we live in interesting times with all the AI and all that stuff there. But at least I enjoy all the tech stuff. So it's interesting for me and it's nice, nice to watch and gladly something around to enjoy it here. All right, Mark, you have a good weekend and enjoy the game and I say be safe back there. All right, next up I have Joshua 6 and UF. Good morning, Joshua and Aloha Friday. What do you have for the net this morning?
Speaker E: Aloha Tom and the rest of the net. Hope everybody's doing well. I'm operating from Rideout Hospital, working on recovering from the infection I discovered I had earlier this week. Things are going well. Just doing my best to get fully back on my feet so I can get back to. But I wanted to say we had a lot of fun last weekend doing the Fox Hunt and they had a blast doing it. So really appreciate the club hosting those and we look forward to hosting one with the club later on this year.
Speaker B: Okay. Joshua, I'm sorry to hear that you're in the hospital. I hope the I didn't hear about the infection. I hope that's not related to the Fox sentence last weekend.
Speaker E: No, I unfortunately discovered the hard way that I have diverticulitis. I had some previous tests done back in 2021 and they said there was no signs of it. And then come 2026 it had formed and got infected and Monday night I started having cold chills and thought I'm coming down with the flu. And I went to bed and I couldn't get up at all on Tuesday, started having severe cramps, things like that, and mustered up the energy to go pick up my kids on Tuesday night and thought, you know, the first thing I'm doing in the morning is going to go to the doctor and see what's going on. And next thing you know I'm in the hospital and here I am recovering. So the things that you don't know that you suddenly discover going on are amazing sometimes and I'm lucky, you know, I figured it out and and got the help that I needed. But yeah, kind of a scary situation.
Speaker B: That is scary and it sounds like hopefully you caught it in time and Everything is okay. Yeah, you definitely don't appreciate your health until something like that happens. Right. And then you realize how much it does affect you. So hopefully you're recovering there and are able to treat it with antibiotics or something.
Speaker E: Yeah, I'm getting antibiotics intravenously. They're giving me three bags a day along with the iv. I got pretty dehydrated too, you know, from the, from the start of it and things. But yeah, I'm doing pretty good now. They got me on a liquid diet and so I've actually gotten coffee this morning. So this truly is a coffee break for me. First time this week I've had some coffee, which is rare because usually I
Speaker B: drink quite a bit.
Speaker E: But yeah, I mean, you know, infections, you know, some of them, you don't know that they're there and they're, they're happening. But yeah, I'm normally a healthy guy and don't go to the doctor much. And so, yeah, I guess I'm getting close to 50 here this year. And yeah, I guess it's, you know, my wake up call to kind of make some changes. So that's my goal and got to be there for my kids, so doing that.
Speaker B: Okay, well, we wish you a speedy recovery there and glad that at least you got to enjoy and your kids got to enjoy the fox hunt and stuff. I remember when, yeah, we were doing the fox hunt. We were going out and tripping through on that stampede. That was fun and had a great time doing that too. Out in the redwoods there or out in the trees anyway.
Speaker D: Very good.
Speaker B: Well, you have a great try to have a good day there and recover and get home, get a, get better soon. KN6NUF and N6H.
Speaker E: Thank you, Tom. Everybody, have a great day. KN6NUF 73.
Speaker B: Right730 Joshua. And have a speedy recovery. All right, last time I announce is Jimmy K. K3 Victor Golf Mike. Good morning and hello. Operation. K3vgm. Are you there, jimmy?
Speaker C: Nights at 8pM Keyed up and then
Speaker D: unkeyed for a second. So I'm not sure what happened. But I am here now, back here in Pennsylvania where it's not so cold today. It's somewhere in, it's somewhere in the 20s. But we're supposed to get extremely cold again tomorrow. Although Mark promises me by next week we'll be in the 40s, so I hope he's right. Getting a little tired of the cold weather. Okay, three vgm.
Speaker C: Back to you, Tom.
Speaker B: Okay, right up there, Jimmy. K3VGM. NN68s for the coffee break net. Well, I guess enjoy your 20 days and mean that that's, that's pretty cold there too. Yeah, Mark was just there with 8,
Speaker A: 8 degrees so that, that's, or maybe
Speaker B: it was 18 degrees but that, that, that's pretty cold too. Anyway, it's 50 degrees here, so I don't want to rub it in, but we're having a nice mild, mild day here. A mild week. Anyway, I hope, hope Mark is right and that it does warm up next week for you. I don't know know that he wanted to make any promises, but he can give you probably a good educated guess there. So maybe you will when he comes on. He can give you an idea of what Pennsylvania is going to be there. All right, well anything else going on for you on this aloha Friday there, Jimmy?
Speaker D: K3VGM and N6H K8VGM otherwise KA not K free. I'm not sure if you said the A or not, but anyway it's KA free. And no, not a whole lot going on here. I watched the super bowl later on the weekend. I'm actually rooting for New England, although I like the quarterback for Seattle as well. So I won't be too upset at either team this year, but I am rooting for New England. Back to you, Tom. MM6HK3VGM.
Speaker B: Hey, very good there, Jimmy. Yeah, I'm sorry about the call. Yeah, Ka3VGM. That's why you didn't come up in the log here. Yeah, sorry about that. So I got you corrected in the log here. Yeah, I'm probably more towards Seattle as far as that. I'm not, I don't really care a lot about that.
Speaker A: I'm just if it was San Francisco,
Speaker B: I'd probably be a little more interested in that or maybe if it was. Yeah, that. But at least there playing in our at San Francisco's stadium down there in Santa Clara. So that, that's the one thing that kind of brings it home to us here. So hopefully the weather is going to be good for, for Sunday so that they're not working out in there in rain or anything like that. All right, well I will go ahead and say seven threes you there and put it back there for a final, Jimmy. And thanks for checking in and enjoy the game this weekend and hopefully things warm up for you next week. K A3VGM and N6H for the coffee Breaknet 73 Tom.
Speaker D: And yeah, I hope that the super bowl have good weather. As you know, the AF came to knots and I hate to see any game that important played in that kind of weather myself. I watched it live and it was quite a blizzard for that game. So I will say 73 then everybody have a good day out there on the cospreard. Dad K Freebtm.
Speaker B: Very good there, Jimmy 7:3 to you. Yeah. And I can guarantee you there will not be the same kind of weather as they had with that playoff game there for sure. Yeah, maybe, maybe a little bit of rain, if anything at all. But so maybe Mark will come on here and give us a clue here. Anyway, thanks for checking in and good to go. Good to hear from you.
Speaker C: All right.
Speaker B: This is the Coffee breaknet. I am Tom NN6H. I'm your net host for this Friday, February 6th, it's Aloha Friday. And just want to mention that we have tonight is going to be I guess bring your own trivia. Bring your own Trivia tonight at 7:30pm Pacific Time here on this repeater on this node echo link. It won't be hosted by anybody but we will have bring your own trivia. So this spring is.

Speaker A: Some trivia questions and participate. Ray, K.K. 6am and Tom KB6SSN are there to facilitate things so you can do your own bring trivia questions and gonna do a round robin there. So it's always a lot of fun. So that's tonight, 7:30 here on this repeater notes and so forth there. Also we have a club meeting for the club. If you're in our area here or even if you're not, you can be on Zoom. On February 13th we're moving into a new location in Auburn, California for our club meeting, our in person club meeting and that's at the Placer County HHS Conference center and that'll be at 7:30 February 13th which is coming next Friday. And you can also join us on Zoom. But if you come in person you actually will be able to visit the new facilities and see how great it is there for audio and video system.
Speaker B: Dutch.
Speaker A: So that's off Bell road on Highway 80 in Albert, California. Again it's February 13th, 7:30pm all right, I will go ahead here and take some check ins. I'll take RAG two and if you want to be an in and out let me know and I'll put you at the top. So who's out there for check ins? This is Tom, NN6H
Speaker C: Tom, Kilo, Golf6 November, Lima, Whiskey, In and out
Speaker B: and good morning tom. This is wb6bjn and I'm here for weather today.
Speaker A: Okay, I heard mark wv6bjn. I had joel wv6 gui and I got kg6nlv and I did see a station kia but no audio. I'm not sure if you're trying to check in. Whiskey six golf, romeo, charlie. Yeah, W6GRC. The key up there was just, just a carrier. There was no audio. So you might want to try and something's going on there. Try me fixing that. But there is no audio on your signal there. So I will come back to you though in, in a minute here. Maybe you can fix that. Then I saw a key up for Mike Bravo 7 India, uniform, kilo. Were you trying to check in. And Tom, this is Brian AI6US. I was trying to come in on the W6GRC repeater up in Orland, California and yep, evidently something's not configured correctly up there. AI6US. Okay, Brian. Yeah, I mean it came up in had carrier but I had no audio for that. So. Okay, do you want, do you want to check in on check in? You know I'll hold off on that till later on. I was just Trying to check in. Give me a new the New Orleans repeater. So I'll check in later and I'll notify the folks in charge that what's going on. Thank you. AI6US. Okay, very good. Okay, Brian, we'll, we'll, I will put you down or cross you out or whatever you want or whatever. Okay so these are the check ins that I have. I think wv6 gui, you were an in and out, correct?
Speaker B: Roger, Roger. I'm just parking for my Tai Chi class.
Speaker A: Very good. So I will, I guess we'll constitute that as, as you're in and out there. Okay, very good. And you have a great day there and we got you checked in then I have KD6NLV. Good morning. What do you have for the night this morning?
Speaker C: Oh, good morning Tom, and I hope you mean me. Kilo Golf 6 November, Lima, whiskey, not Victor, but Whiskey Frank here and not much going on. Just having a bit of fun this morning. Getting ready for the day and having fun. Just a quick, quick little heads up for everybody listening. I have for Brian already knows this and I've mentioned it a handful of times over the last couple weeks. I do have a YouTube channel and I do overnight live streams of radio both 2 meters and all star and I have it set so that people can listen to the Coffee Breaknet online besides broadcastifying all that as well. You know they have another way to listen to it and, or interact with it a little bit. KG6NLW on YouTube and Twitch and all the social media platforms really will get you to it. And yeah, so right now it's going out over the interwebs on your YouTube, Twitter and Twitch. Having fun with that. And as I said, I scan a handful of. I'm in the northern San Francisco Bay area so I'm coming in through All Star, but I have a handful of Sonoma county repeaters as well as a couple on Mount Vaca and Mount Diablo that I scan throughout the evening. You know, if you, if you're curious as to how you sound and you can hit one of the repeaters I have in the scan list on the screen. Key up long enough and see if
Speaker B: you can capture it and see how
Speaker C: you sound over rf that's part of why I have this up. It's going to be running overnight Sunday, Tuesday and Thursdays. So Sunday night.
Speaker A: Okay. Frank, I don't know if you're there to hear us, but I think you timed out either your note or our repeater. Kg6nlv or nl. Yeah, w. I'm sorry. Yeah. And now let's say. What is it? What is it? What did you call it? Nlw. Yeah, kg6nlw. Are you still there, frank? I guess we lost him. Let's see. Checking. Well, you're still on the, the node list here, so maybe your battery died there. Well, that's cool for you there, Frank. I think you, you dropped off as you towards the end. KG6L, N, L, W and N6H.
Speaker C: All right, I'm coming in for repeater phone now. Where did I drop off, Tom?
Speaker A: You were talking about the. All the different repeaters and stuff that were scanning overnight on Tuesday, Wednesday, whatever days it were, and now that it just stopped.
Speaker C: Ah, okay. Well, I will just make it very short and sweet then. I'm coming in through repeater phone now instead of directly through my note. Sunday night, Monday morning, an overnight live stream. Tuesday night, Wednesday morning, another overnight live stream. And Thursday night, Friday morning, another overnight live stream. And I let it go until the end of the call. Coffee Breaknet. So if you wish to hear how you sound, there's a group, as I said on screen, that cover Mount Vaca, Mount Diablo and the Sonoma county area. Or if you're on RF and you want to hear how you sound coming into the All Star node for the W6ek system, you can always listen there with that. Tom, I'll say good morning to you. N 68 kilogram golf sixth November Lima whiskey.
Speaker A: Okay, very good there, Frank. I had one question for you there. Yes? How many people do you actually have listening to the live. Live screen stream? I just kind of just wondering. I know I have a theory that a lot of people actually like listening to the scanners and stuff. You know, Broadcastify being pretty popular for some of that stuff. But just curious, how many people actually listen to your live stream there when you're going on there and different meters.
Speaker C: I'll be honest with you, Tom. It's probably because it's overnight and whatnot. I don't get a lot of viewership compared to my normal live streams. But there's usually a good eight to ten people that all I'll see check in throughout the night. There's a bar graph that shows me where the peaks and valleys are throughout the night.
Speaker B: And I. I get up to about
Speaker C: eight or ten for, you know, a minute or two here and there throughout the overnight. Right now there's three people watching I can see on the back end, two of them on YouTube and one over on Twitch. So yeah, it's Definitely, definitely not 100 popular, but it's popular. I am going to be putting, putting the studio back together today, the Studio Shack. And I am going to be getting HF back in there as well as maybe some local radio traffic other than ham radio. So there will be some interesting changes coming to it.
Speaker A: Very good. Well, yeah, just curious here how many people like to listen to just radio kind of just maybe not have a radio themselves but be able to just kind of tune it to on YouTube. Okay, very good. Well, thanks for giving us that information and good luck with your live stream stuff there and thanks for checking in and sorry about mangling up your call before. So Kilo Golf. So clearing with Kilo Golf the 6th of November Lima Whiskey. Check out his the YouTube live stream on YouTube there. This is Tom NSXH. This is the Coffee Breaknet. All right. And let me go down to my listers on us. My list is is Mark back in Tennessee, WV6BJN. Good morning, Mark. Hopefully you and Sarah are doing well.
Speaker B: Yes, sir. My feet slipped off the Good morning. Good morning to you there, Tom, and good morning to everyone. And you're sounding good this morning. Doing a great job on the net. Good morning to everybody and for Jimmy in Pennsylvania, if you're listening, I am extremely confident that it's going to get warmer. Yes, there is a clipper that's going to come through and I'll talk more about that in a few minutes. But I'll tell you, every office I listened to this morning says once some of this stuff gets through and that high pressure area starts to build from the west over the nation east of the Rockies, that things are going to warm up nicely. You could even make a run at some 50s, maybe next week. So anyway, Tom, good morning to you. Hope you're doing good back here.
Speaker A: There. Go ahead. Okay, I'm doing good here, Mark. So somebody from the Fireside Network keeps keying up there. Are you trying to break in? Okay, anybody from the Fireside Network trying to break in there? I see you key up a number of times in the last couple minutes. All right. I guess if it gets too bad here, I'll have to disconnect the Fireside Network here if it keeps coming up here. All right, Mark, everything's doing good here. This is the first morning I woke up with no fog in the valley here. So that's a good sign anyway. So, yeah, curious what the weather's gonna be like, especially the weather in Santa Clara for Sunday for the super bowl game. I know we're not going to have the blizzard situation like they had back for the, the playoff game. So hopefully things will be well for this weekend. Anyway, back to you there, WB6BJN and N6H.
Speaker B: Yeah, okay, good, thank you. Yeah, I don't know why people key up, you know, if you're going to key up, say something, you know. Anyway, yeah, no, I don't think there'll be any rain for the game on Sunday. Things will be fine, but the changes are occurring and that's why the fog is less in the valley, because there's not as much subsidence. If you've been following with your barometer set correctly, you've noticed since probably the first of the week and well into, you know, even before into last week when we were having very cold weather in the east that your barometer was very high. And that's because there's been real strong high pressure off the West Coast. And again, are these weather patterns connected? Absolutely. The reason for the cold weather in the east is the same reason for the warm weather in the west, the foggy weather in the San Joaquin Valley. Because that happens when there's high pressure and there's been persistent high pressure over the west, persistent low pressure in the East. And for that reason, since probably the first part of January from about the fe just after New Year's, it's been dry in California, dry up to this point. I think the last rain was probably right around the 4th or the 5th back here. The last 70 degree temperature was right around New Year's right after Christmas. And that's when we were in a warm phase. And then all of a sudden, boom, low pressure develops. The polar vortex came down out of the Arctic upper stratospheric warming. And there we were locked in the freezer. That's about to change. And we look to California for that because that high pressure, what we call a rex block pattern, that's a low pressure out over Baja California underneath, the high pressure area is breaking down. In other words, that low is going to start to move and eventually into Texas. And the high pressure area that's over California is going to start advancing eastward and it's already starting to do that. Let me take a break. In fact, Wichita, Kansas yesterday was in the 60s after being in the freezer over the last few days. And that that's moving eastward. We're going to warm up to about 53 degrees now for you guys in California, still another good day. But the fact that the fog, there's no dense fog advisories ain't means that there's a low pressure area, a little area low pressure to the south mixing up the atmosphere. Barometers are down below 30 and 10 hundred inches. I think the one in Modesto was down to 30.06 or 30.07. And it's been falling gradually over the last few days, showing that high moving grudgingly eastward. So there could be some rain showers, believe it or not, toward south Central California over southern Monterey county today, also over Southern California. There could actually be some thunderstorms over the Santa Barbara coastal areas and Ventura, and it has alleviated some of the fog in the San Joaquin Valley. It's going to be a nice sunny day today. Temperatures are in the upper 60s and tomorrow could actually get up to some of the low 70s like it's been doing. And people in the valley are going to enjoy that. There could be some fog in the morning. And then by Sunday the fog really clears up and regular high clouds, cloudiness starts building in and clouds start thickening on Monday as low pressure from the mid Pacific or from the from the Northeast Pacific starts to build in from the Pacific Northwest out of British Columbia. So it's a colder system and temperatures start to drop. Tuesday, we start to pick up rain chances better to the north, eventually building better to the south on Tuesday and Wednesday and 8 to 10 and 8 to 14. Day outlooks, Tom, show below normal temperatures for much of California and above normal precipitation. So it's an exact flip of the weather pattern. Going to be high pressure in the east, which I'll talk about more in a minute, and low pressure in the west.

Speaker A: West. So you're going to be affected by the jet and we're going to be affected by Gulf moisture from the Gulf, which will warm things up and eventually bring some rain here, but it's going to pretty much be liquid. Back to you, Tom. WV6BJ.
Speaker B: Yeah. WV6BJN and then 6H for the coffee break now. Okay, very good. Well, so it looks like for the super bowl game on Sunday, which is in Santa Clara, California, which is kind of south of San Francisco, southeast of San Francisco, it'll be a nice day. It looks like for the game this day will be nice, nice sunny skies and such. And yeah, look like next week we'll get a little bit of rain maybe on Tuesday, starting Tuesday, and cold. All right. Well, I can take that. And I'm glad that we might get some rain going forward in the month of February, so very good. Well, thank you for the forecast for that anyway. And yeah, so let's hear what's happening on the west of the the rest of the nation there. Back there where you are, WB6VJN and N6H.
Speaker A: As I said, when it warms up, when it cools off and starts raining on the west coast, it's going to be for the first couple of days through the Midwest. Now there is another arctic cold front, the last in the series of these Arctic cold fronts is going to come through this weekend. And unfortunately it's going to be cold. Okay, it's going to be cold. So people need to pay attention to that. There's going to be snow, especially the further east and the further north you are. For us, it's gonna, we're gonna get clipped here in the south. But I think pretty much with the exception of maybe the Carolinas, it's, it's gonna start, it's gonna get cold. We're gonna drop back down into the 20s tomorrow night, be in the upper 30s tomorrow. We'll be in the 50s today, day ahead of that cold front. In fact, the barometer right now, if I look at my barometer, it's 29.8 1.6. And the barometer has been falling all morning. So that shows where the advance of that cold front. But the temperature right now is 45.7 degrees and it feels like about 40. So it's actually much more pleasant today. Yesterday's high was 30 and we're already at 45 now. We're already 15 degrees above yesterday's high here. So that shows warmer conditions. The warming trend will halt tomorrow as we get clipped, but that front and then late Sunday is the what we call the transition period. And by Monday we're going to get up into the, We're going to get 60s by Monday and upper 60s by Tuesday and maybe it might make a run at 70, 70 degrees and that will melt all the ice, the snow, the sleet and everything. Is this the end of winter? Absolutely not. Because I do believe that this pattern will go back to its original winter pattern eventually. That high will again flip and we'll get high pressure in the west a little later. It's a question of when. And also low pressure back in the east. I think we've got one more good shot at winter and later maybe in February or early March, but we'll just wait and see and see what happens. We also got to pay attention to this Gulf moisture moving up. There's some indication of that a major cyclone could develop in the Midwest and in the mid south and unfortunately if there's some colder air north of that and it starts to be affected by the warmer air coming out of the Gulf or warm air advection, that's where we could start our severe weather season. So it would be like an early spring pattern. So we got to pay attention to that as this pattern unfolds that we could be get severe thunderstorms and sometimes that can lead to tornadic activity places in the south. Back to you there, Tom. WB6BJN.
Speaker B: Okay, WB6BJN NN6H for the coffee breaknet all right, very good there, Mark. Well, thanks for giving us the weather. It sounded like it. Yeah, things are going to flip a little bit and you're going to have some nice weather back there next week. So I guess enjoy that. And like, you know, well like you, you said, you know, the weather pattern is probably going to going to change around. So it's not doesn't mean that it's going to be a trend there. Very good. Well thanks for that and hopefully everything goes well. And so are you and Sarah going to be watching the game on Sunday?
Speaker A: Sunday. I am. Sarah's not really into football but she's going to make sure I get chicken wings and chips and dips and all the goodies and she's probably going to take part in that. But, but I'll be back here following the game. I'm not going to follow it on television because, well, we don't have that available. We don't have a big network thing and she doesn't watch it. But I do have XM satellite radio which will broadcast the super bowl game, which for a blind person is much better than television. I'm not interested in Kid Rock, halftime and all of that stuff. Interested in the game. I'm taking Seattle and because they're favored, they're at five and a half points favorites over New England and I think, I think so they're. New England is the underdog but both good teams. That's why they're there. So it'll be a, it'll be a great game. So looking forward to that. So there, there you go. And I don't know, Sarah will probably watch some movies and she'll have fun out in the other part of the house and this will be her last weekend of being a football, a football widow there. Go ahead.
Speaker B: Hopefully last weekend of that for, for this. Come this year or not this year, but for this time of the season. Football season, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. I'm a fan of XM radio. I use that in the car all the time and even at home for listening to music and other things and sports and news and things. So. Very good. Yeah. And I can definitely understand that because that way with the XM or with on radio you actually get the play by plays that are much better than what it is when you're watching tv they assume you can see certain things so they're going to go off on that. So I take it that you're not a Bunny fan there. I think he's doing the halftime for that. So. Okay. Very good. All right. Well you have a great, a great weekend and enjoy the football game. Yeah, I think a lot of people will be tuned into. May not be football fans but it'll be there for the commercials or like you said for the food. So that, that's for sure. And it becomes a nice social event. My. Yeah, my ex son in law used to really go out for that and have a great party and stuff like that. So definitely miss that. Anyway, back to you there for a final mark and then I'll move on here and get some more check ins wv6bjn and then 6h.
Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely. Tom. No, I, I don't. It was kind of fun when I. With a lot of people and we did super bowl parties but I don't know enough people back here. I went to one with my. One of my church buddies. They had one one year and I got invited over into Hopkins town. Hopkinsville, Kentucky. That was fun. But I think I'll just be here doing, doing super bowl here at home and that is just fine by me. And yeah, I Like I have the XM satellite app on my phone and so I can just bring up XM and listen to the game there this weekend. So that'll be, that'll be Good. All right, Tom 7:3 and we'll talk to everybody maybe tomorrow. I don't know, I might be here tomorrow and if not for sure next week I'll be back and then we'll talk to everybody then. NN6H WB6BJ.
Speaker B: Okay, very good there, Mark. WD6BJN and N6H for the coffee breaknet. All right, well thanks and thanks for giving us the weather and being there and doing all the, the educational stuff on that too. Yeah, enjoy the game. And yeah, I have XM in my car. I have it in my phone and I also have it on my Alexa echo device which is not kept around the house. I can just turn it on and tell it to listen to different channels and stuff. So that always works out. So I definitely enjoy that. I do. I do the XM stuff more than I do tv. All right, you take care, you and Sarah and again, enjoy the game. All right, this is the Coffee breaknet on the W6EK repeater. I am Tom NN6H and we do this every morning from 7:30 until 10:00am IST Pacific Time. I want to remind you of what we have coming up here. We have tonight will be an ad hoc trivia session starting at 7:30 to 8:30 Pacific Time. It's always on the first and third Friday. Sometimes it's hosted, sometimes it's not. And so tonight will be an ad hoc where you basically they want you to bring your own trivia questions. So if you have some trivia questions that you can contribute, then they do a round robin of people just doing the questions and it's always a lot of fun. So, so that's tonight, 7:30 on the W60K repeater, all star node echo link and so forth. So just join us for that. We have our new, we're moving into our club, moving into a new location. So we're club meeting for this month on February 13th, which is next Friday, 7:30 we'll be at the Placer County HHS Conference center that's going to be off bell Road in I80 in Auburn, California. For those that are local, it's going to be an open house and it's going to be a great new facility, great audio, video systems, so forth. So hopefully things will be better which also will improve the experience. For those on zoom, we always do our zoom as well as inverted. So if you can't make it, if you're out of the area, you can at least check in on Zoom and see how well things have improved. That's, that's the hope that things will improve for the club meeting anyway. So we appreciate that. That's February 13th. Then we have our monthly breakfast which is always at the end of the last Saturday of the month. That's going to be January. This is January 31st, so that's definitely not the right one. So the last Saturday is going to be February 28th, which is the last day of February. And then I'll be at Mel in Auburn, California off of Highway 49. That will be a fox hunt. I'm not sure who is going to be the fox tender, but we always have a fox hunt after the breakfast. Generally there's a Pre meeting at 9 o' clock in Mel's parking lot and then the fox is turned on at 9:30. So join us for that monthly breakfast and the fox hunt.
Speaker A: All right.
Speaker B: And then let me give a quick thing here on what today is. Today is National Park Bubblegum Day. It's National Frozen Yogurt Day. It's National Chopsticks Day. It's National Valentine Shopping Reminder Day. So you know, that's a good point. Valentine's Day is going to be a week from Saturday, so you might want to keep that in mind. It's Pay a Compliment Day. It's Time to Talk Day. So that's, that fits in with the copper brick net. And it's National Working Naked Day. Working Naked Day. So give you an excuse to go to work naked. Of course I don't know what that would cause problems with hr. But anyway that's, that's what it is, National Working and Naked Day. And I'm reading that interesting thing about the National Chopsticks. Let me bring up the information here on that. And anyway, National Chopitik says that people in China have been using chopsticks since 1200 BC. Then the other interesting fact is that when you use chopsticks it engages 50 different joints and muscles. So not only are you only do you use your fingers and wrists, but also your arms and shoulders who are known for that. Chopsticks can be so a form of exercise. It engages 50 different joints and muscles when you use your chopsticks. And I had a chance to do that on last week with lunch with W2VX Doug there. All right, so let me go ahead who out there for the coffee break. Now I'll take check ins. I'LL take Ragchu. Anyone to be an in and out ops. Who's out there? This is Tom. November. November 6th. Hotel N2DYI.
Speaker A: Good morning. In and out,
Speaker C: kg6 and I'll buy you
Speaker A: n9 muf. And I got buried in there.
Speaker B: Kf 68. Good morning. Okay, a little kerfuffle there. So let me go through what I have here. I got n9 muf. I saw n3dqd come up. Are you checking in? Are you?
Speaker A: That's me, anna. Kd3ajn.
Speaker B: Okay, anna. Yeah, I keep that call sign. Yeah, kd3ajn. Okay, got you there. Okay, then I have k6dcl. I have k06th and I got n2dyi. And I saw ww6grc. Is that you there, brian? Coming through on the w6grc repeater. Okay. Yeah, same problem. The W6G. There is no audio.
Speaker A: Just.
Speaker B: Just a carrier. No audio coming through at all. Sorry about that. All right. I don't have anybody here as being an in and out. Are these all ragged? Anybody in this group that I mentioned are in and out?
Speaker C: I guess I got buried on a recheck. KG6 Melville.
Speaker B: Okay, I being in and out and. Okay, Frank got you for a recheck. So go ahead, Frank. KG6 and LW.
Speaker A: All right.
Speaker C: I just wanted to make sure that one, the radio was working and I had an issue with the HT, of course. And then second, I forgot earlier tonight at 5:00pm Pacific, I have Fridays with Frank. So come on by. I have a fun little segment at the beginning of the live stream and. And then it's just a Q and
Speaker A: A or Q and A.
Speaker C: Come on by with your questions. It can be ham, railroad, photography or otherwise. Those are the three subjects that I know the most. Both of you know ham, of course, and then rail and photography because. Well, those are my two jobs. So come on by. 5pm Pacific. That's eight Eastern for Fridays with Frank.
Speaker A: Thanks. Thanks, Tom. Okay.
Speaker B: Okay, very good there, Frank. And I heard. I saw KK3 VGM. Did you have a recheck?
Speaker A: Actually had a quick question for Frank, if I may.
Speaker B: Yeah, Jimmy, go ahead.
Speaker A: Direct with Frank.KG6NLW4K3VGM this morning. If your stream last night was recorded. The one with the other and clock provider over.
Speaker C: Yeah, the open hand clock, which is
Speaker A: one of the several.

Speaker A: Replacements for Ham Clock, at least for now. That was a live stream on Wednesday night and it is up on the channel. So go check it out if you haven't. We had the creator, the main person behind open Ham Clock on the ham radio kids table on Wednesday night and it was dual streamed to my channel as well. So yeah, go check it out. It's up there and it's quite an interesting live that we had.
Speaker B: Okay, thank you Frank and thank you Tom for allowing that. I'll go check that out in a
Speaker C: minute when I'm done eating lunch.
Speaker B: Okay. For me Jim. Back to you, Tom.
Speaker C: Hey, very good there, thanks. Thank you Jimmy. And thanks Frank. And yeah, everybody can check that out on your live stream stuff on your YouTube channel. All right, so let me out the way. So let me go to the list here of my check ins. Well yeah, so let me go to top of the list which is Patrick into dyi. Good morning I guess. No, it's still morning back there. Good morning. Hopefully you're having a good Friday.
Speaker D: Good morning. Yep, it's still morning here. I guess my Friday is reasonably okay. Still kind of recovering from the mental. Mental. No, the very, very much physical torture that I went through yesterday. I sat on the chair in the dentist office for three and a half hours roughly and they got me done with all that. I have to go back two weeks from yesterday. Not quite done yet, but done with the worst of.
Speaker C: Well yeah, and I heard you mention yesterday I think the cleaning was worse than the root canal there. Well, at least I'm glad that it's taken care of and hopefully it's relieving some of the pain that you have.
Speaker D: Yeah, it's pretty much non existent now. It's just the typical thing that you get after a deep cleaning that's kind of annoying for a couple of days. So I'm not too worried about things. But yeah, I have to go back on the 19th and have two fillings that need to be installed. One was old and the other one never existed. So that's kind of the deal there. Other than that, not a whole lot going on here. It's going to get a little bit colder. We got some snow yesterday but as kind of predicted it didn't really stick. It came down pretty good there right around the time I was coming back home. And yeah, that's not going to be a thing for a while. We're going to get back up into the 60s by probably Wednesday we'll be up in the 50s Monday, Tuesday and then by the middle of the week we'll be in the 60s. So, yeah, that tends to happen in February around here. We usually get a couple of days where it's nice and pretty reasonable. And then it says, no, actually, no, it's still winter. Hang on, let me. Let me remind you about that.
Speaker C: Yeah, that's what Mark was saying, that, yeah, you guys are going to warm up, but it's probably not going to be the end. So.
Speaker D: Yeah,
Speaker C: we'll remind you that you have more winter coming.
Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Yeah. I seriously doubt that's going to be the end, but it's kind of like last year. We had some days like that in January. I remember late January. At some points we got up into the low 70s and it was weird because I was talking to Melanie back at home. It was in the low 30s and snowing pretty heavily. They got several inches of snow, and meanwhile, I was hanging out in the backyard. 70 degrees. It was nice. But, yeah, it's definitely been an actual winter here this year. Last couple of weeks, it's barely got above freezing.
Speaker C: And you mentioned yesterday, I thought it was. And just kind of the image of that you mentioned about going out and I guess going for the dentist yesterday and with your mom and finding that the doors were frozen shut and you had to crawl through the trunk to get to open the doors. That brings up an image.
Speaker D: Yeah, I didn't have anything to scrape the ice off and all that stuff, so I had to. We got the trunk open, so I had to crawl all the way from the back to the front of the car. And then I dropped my phone out of my pants pocket and it landed in a really stupid place. And it was, of course, near one of the only. The only door that I hadn't managed to get open. So I had to go back in there through the other side and then force that door open. So we got them all open. Got my phone out and that. Well, let me tell you, it's a lot easier to do that. The last time I had to do anything like that, I probably weighed about 130 pounds. Now I'm closer to 220. Yeah. Not as flexible as I used to be.
Speaker C: Yeah, that would be. That could be a challenge. Well, glad you did it. And, yeah, it amazes me, all the things that you can do. I don't know, it just. It just amazes me.
Speaker D: I'm pretty amazed I was able to still do that. But so it goes. Anyway, Tom, I'll let you get on to the rest of the net. Everyone have a great day. Good to hear you here as always and we'll catch you later. NN6H N2DYI.
Speaker C: All right, 7.3 there, Patrick, and glad things are bad as you thought or predicted or with the situation there and everything at least is going better there. I know financially it's probably not great but at least you're moving on there health wise. So very good for that. All right. Seven three to you and thanks for checking in. All right. And also trying to for helping out with the AllNotes networks. We do every Monday night at 6pm Pacific, 9pm Eastern and this repeater and nodes and stuff and all your expertise and help with our repeater system and our node system. All right. Next up, Greg Ko6th. Good morning Greg and aloha Friday.
Speaker E: Aloha Friday, Tom. Greg Ko6th Lovely morning. What am I doing today? I got finished up the video for the astronomy club. Got a pass at it yesterday and looks like it's going to be pretty good. So that's almost done. Took a look around YouTube for this coffee break livestream.
Speaker B: A little creepy.
Speaker E: I haven't found it yet but apparently there's a 160 meter coffee break net that's been earning for years. Don't know anything about that. So I guess we're the second coffee break net around.
Speaker B: Interesting.
Speaker E: And weekend planning on listening to the or watching the game, counting the commercials. It's just kind of, you know, just to see get the pulse of the of the economy by categorizing the commercial. See what's hot this year and then hopefully Monday head back down to the Bay Area for a day with the boat. So that's before the weather changes. See if I can squeeze that in. So going to be busy. Kos fth. Back to you.
Speaker C: Go ahead. Comment.
Speaker A: Yeah, Greg, if you look up KG6NLW, that's Kilo Golf 6 November Lima Whiskey. The channel name is Ham Radio Wilderness with Frank KG6NLW but if you just YouTube.com 6mildew it will take you right to the live right to my page and the live stream should be right there up and running. I'm literally looking working on the computer to aspirate. Live stream running.
Speaker E: Okay, give that a shot. Just call sign by itself did not come up with that but I don't know, I'll do some digging. Anyway thanks a lot. Appreciate the pointer there. And Tom, Back to you.
Speaker B: K6TH.
Speaker C: Hey Greg, very good. Yeah, well I guess as far as the timeframe there for working on the boat, you got I guess Tuesday is when Mark said We'll start. Things will start changing. Getting a little bit of rain here. So you probably have that until then. Yeah, I think the Super Bowl. I think the big thing that people talk about is the AI generated ads that'll probably be out there. So that's something to look forward to or I don't know or not. We'll see how that goes. Be interesting to see what they do there. AI is affecting everything in our lives anyway. And now I lost my train of thought, what I was going to say. Anyway, back to you. K06th.nn6h
Speaker E: yeah. AI in everything. I'm not surprised that that would be happening. I mean, but they're paying millions of dollars for the time. Put a little bit of energy into creating them. Come on, guys. It's.
Speaker B: Yeah.
Speaker E: What is Cory Doctorow's word for the. Yeah. Not to be repeater over the air. Anyway, so. Yeah, so that's the idea of Monday is to go down the boat before the weather comes. I need to coordinate with the prior owner. We're in opposite slips. He's in mine, I'm in his. So we want to switch the boats. So we need to both be down there at the same time and little bit of a dance in the harbor there and come back in the right place. So anyway. And then I've got. I just got a lot of stuff to do. So anyway. Incoherent this morning. I haven't. I have my coffee. I have my coffee. I am not add my coffee. So that's next. Time to get you kf60h back to you tomorrow.
Speaker C: Okay, Greg? All right, very good. Well, good luck with. With the boat thing there. And yeah, I'm waiting for the day when you actually say that you took it out for sale. I mean, that's. That will be a momentous day. Correct.
Speaker E: You know, I'm really looking forward. It's like it's been way too long. I bought the boat, what, in November somewhere back there. And I have been out on it in the bay but with the prior owner helping out. So I gotta be able to get out on my own. And that was the autopilot. The autopilot looks like it's working. So next step is to actually use the stupid thing and get out there and put the sails up. So we will see how far that goes. I'm just looking forward to being able to get out of the slip into the harbor and then back in without bumping into anything. Once I'm out on the bay, then I get to practice the real stuff. But if I can't get back into the harbor, back into the slip without bumping into something, that's a problem. So practice there first. Anyway, learning training.
Speaker B: I need training wheels.
Speaker E: The bumpers are out. Ko6th 73.
Speaker C: You need little, little baby bumpers on your. Well, yeah, I guess you have those with the fenders and things. Okay, well, good luck with that. And now we'll be looking forward to that, that day. I understand. Definitely understand with a boat and especially when you don't have any power to it, well, you have a little motor there, so you do have some power. But the worst thing in a boat is when you lose power and you're just drifting aimlessly into rocks and all that stuff or into other boats. Anyway, looking forward to the day when you take it out there and tell us that you had a successful trip there. So anyway, you take care. Anyway, thanks for that, Greg, and we'll talk to you next time. So clearing with Greg Ko60H. Next up, Dave, Dave and Lucy. K60. Good morning, Dave. Aloha Friday to you.
Speaker B: Aloha Friday to you too, my friend. K60CL here and not so sunny Jamestown, but it's kind of weird not seeing the sun across on the face of the mountain. Across the way. Lucy's finishing her second biscotti with her coffee and she's enjoying that and she is waving a hand to say hi to you and always great to hear you. I was glad you're on today to hear your voice. Anyway, we're, we're having fun with too many different radios. I have in my little, my big hand a very little FRS radio made by Radtel. They contacted me and asked me if I'd like to test one of their radios, put it through the ringers. And I said, why sure, I'd be honored because I like Radtail. And, and so they sent me this little bitty FRS device has up and down audio. It has a big button to push on the face of it. And it's little. I mean if it's 3 inches by 3/4 of an inch, that's most. So I've connected with two of my, one of my TMRS buddies and he's going to get his brother involved and I'm going to give. They sent me three of these radios. I'm having fun with that, having fun with my new Yaesu 318585 watt VHF radio. If I can figure out how to consistently put in repeater frequencies, I'd be happier. But I'm Getting there. I finally figured one out and know how to scan and all that stuff. So we're doing a lot of radio stuff here and there. We still have some work to do on the radio. VHF, UHF, Daisy radio in the car. I put my 510 back in, so that's what I'm doing. K6DCL over to Utah.
Speaker C: All right, I heard, I saw jimmy key up there. Ka3vgm. Did you have a comment? Actually, this is number three, Golf Mike Sierra for a quick signal report. You're coming, you're coming through fine, no problem. Do you want me to add you to the list? Yes, sir, no problem. Actually, yes, but no, that Jimmy's hooked up to. We're here In Wade, North Carolina, about oh, 13, 14 miles from Fayetteville. Okay, can I get your, your call signed and I'll add you to the list when I'm done here.
Speaker E: Roger that.
Speaker C: It's november 3rd, gulf, mexico, sierra, n3, golf mike sierra. Very good. M3GMS, Golf Mike Sierra. I will, I will give you a call when, when I'm done with Sierra. All right. And so, yeah, so Dave, K6DC. I'll go back to our conversation there. So, yeah, I had a question there. So you mentioned that Rattail can reached out to you and asked you if you wanted to review it. I'm just curious how they found out that you were available to do that.
Speaker B: Well, it was first. You know, I've bragged about the Rat Tell. My age, 17 and which I've love SIL Audio is great on it and reception is great on it. When you put a big antenna, it's wonderful. So, you know, I've been talking about that on different places. I don't, I really, I don't know. I don't know as much as I should about how they thought I could do that, but they, they did. And they reached out to me and asked me if I wanted to participate in testing one of their radios. They did not mention which one,
Speaker C: but
Speaker B: they knew I was on GMRS for sure. And this is an FRS radio, little bitty thing made to use in hotels and things. I seen a good possibility of using it actually here between Lucy and I around the. You know, if I go outside, at least she and I have a radio connection. And you know, when you get to be my age, you want to have as much communications as punchline. Oh boy, I tell you, one of those things. Anyway, so that's it. To tell you the truth, they probably saw me looking at all their different radios and maybe they knew that I was bragging about the 817.
Speaker C: Okay, Dave. Yeah. The reason, I guess I was wondering because I just, you know, for them to be able to know that you were talking about their, their, Their device. I thought maybe they listened to the Coffee Breaknet. Maybe that's a tie into this because you've talked a lot about that on the copy Breaknet, so I thought maybe they heard you talking here, you know, and. Because we get a lot of people listening all across the country, otherwise it would just be on your GMRs and your local nets there, which may not be.

Speaker A: Widely distributed like that. But yeah, I think the one that you're talking about is the Radtel RT13. I think that's what I had copied before and I looked at that on Amazon and that's a neat little radio that's actually modeled after a Motorola Radio, a 900 MHz frequency hop radio that the Motorola kind of uses for retail stores and things. It's on 900 MHz band, but it's the same kind of thing. It has, you know, the antenna already built into it. It has a push button on the front. It's really easy with just a few little. And it has voice controls and all that stuff. So it. Yeah, it's a neat little radio, I think might be a little expensive for the price, but it seemed like, you know, in the right situation it would be fine.
Speaker B: Yeah, I, I definitely agree with that.
Speaker A: Glad I didn't have to pay much.
Speaker C: Yeah,
Speaker B: I don't know what, you know, FRS is maybe a couple of miles, so I gotta test that out. How far I can get. Does it get through brick walls, things like that. And thinking about the practicality of it for someone who may be partially or fully disabled, it could be a good communicator. It's small, it comes with a lanyard, comes with a headset, which I can't use anyway.
Speaker C: And.
Speaker B: It depends on how far it gets reliably. And knowing FRS ain't going to be much, but I can. There's been some radios here in Sonora used at hotels and they get down to me and it's about two and a half, three miles and it's clear. So very interesting.
Speaker A: Yeah, I think FRS has its use. That's a 1 watt unit, which I was surprised. I think that requires a GMRS license. I think FRS is limited to I think 0.5 watts, but yeah, interesting. Yeah, it's a neat little device. And I can definitely see like somebody that is not really a radio person. You just kind of press the button in, the big round button in the front and it works. So that's the Ratel RT13. All right. Well, yeah, so I was just curious there about how they heard about you. You liking the rattails. The thought maybe they listened to the copyright. That would be interesting to know. Okay there, Dave. Well, I'm going to say 7:3 to you and Lucy there, unless you have something else for the net, but I figure you're probably watching the super bowl game on Sunday, so enjoy that. And yeah, I hope the sun comes out there in Jamestown. K6DCL and N6H,
Speaker B: I think Lucy and I are split on who were rooting for and that's okay because we are a Rams home team, family team. So we would have loved it if the Rams had gotten into the super bowl, but they didn't. But they did a great job and so did their quarterback and Buccanoka and all those guys are just terrific. So we are a Rams family. And anyway, we'll be watching. And I think I'm going for the favorites, the Seattle Seahawks. They seem to be on fire. Anyway, talk to seven three and have a great weekend and always great to talk to you, Tom. I hope you're doing okay. K6DCL7 3.
Speaker D: Okay.
Speaker A: Regular Dave. Yeah. K60CL and N6H for the coffee breaknet. Yep. Yeah, unfortunately the Seahawks beat out the Rams and that's why they're in that situation now. But yeah, I was kind of rooting for the Rams also. But we'll see what happens here on Sunday and if the Seahawks can pull it off like they're expected to. All right, well, you have a great and again, I hope the sun comes out there in Jamestown and good to talk to you and maybe we'll talk to you on your GMRS net on Tuesday night. All right, so clearing with K6DC all next. Coming back to Anna KD3AJN. Good. Good morning, Anna. Hopefully things are good with you and Aloha Friday.
Speaker D: Good morning, Tom. And everyone else on the neck today. Actually, it's afternoon here, but where you are, it's still morning. Not too much going on here. Just staying home today. It's kind of a yucky day out there. I heard there were some. And snow and, you know, all that stuff. And then tomorrow we have to go out to a meeting, Lions Club meeting, which I'm not too thrilled about because it's supposed to be with the wind chill minus 18 degrees. So not too excited about that. But hey, that's the way life goes.
Speaker A: Yeah. Minus 18 with wind chill.
Speaker C: Never mind.
Speaker A: Yeah, that's why I'm out here in California because we maybe we get down to maybe the 40s and sometimes into the 30s, but, you know, we don't have to deal with all that stuff there. Well, and also the ice, you have to be careful with ice, too, if things get down cold and things freeze over there. But anyway, so stay safe back there and hopefully you be really careful when you go out tomorrow.
Speaker D: We will be careful. We're getting a ride, so all we have to do is walk to the car and then walk into the building. So that's not too bad. But today Ray just reminded me we're going downstairs to our community room at one o'. Clock. They're having an Xfinity trivia game and we've never had this here before, so it's something interesting and we're going to go down and check it out. So everybody have a good weekend. KD3AJS.
Speaker A: Okay, very good there, Anna. Well, enjoy your trivia game there downstairs. So we also, you know, the, I mentioned earlier that the club, you know, we're gonna on this repeater. We'll have a trivia night tonight which is always on the first and third Fridays of the month. And tonight will be an ad hoc trivia and It'll start at 7:30 Pacific Time and go for an hour. So you might want to join us for that if you need some more trivia and maybe even bring some trivia questions or maybe some of the questions that you learned today, maybe write them down and then bring those for the trivia contest tonight might be good too. So that's something to think about there. All right, I will go back to you for seven threes and the seven three round and you have a great day there. So KD3AJN and N6H,
Speaker D: I don't think you'll hear us on the trivia net. It doesn't start here till 10:30 our time kind of wait for us. Usually we're in bed by that time. So everybody have a good time with the trivia and have a good weekend and stay safe. KD3HAN.
Speaker A: Very good there, Anna. Yeah, I understand about the, about the time difference there. Yeah, three hours difference. So yeah, 10:30, it might be a little late for some people. Okay, well you take care and your trivia today down there at 1:00'.
Speaker C: Clock.
Speaker A: All right, so clearing with Anna next. I got Daniel. N9 MUF. Good morning or good afternoon.
Speaker C: Good morning, Tom and the net. No, it's still good morning here. It's only 1120, so, you know, I can still claim that I'm not moving at a decent time. For some reason.
Speaker A: I keep thinking Illinois is over that. Over the. Crossed over the line here into the three hour zone there. I used to do a lot of work in Michigan, so. Michigan, when you fly over the lake there, it goes from minus 2 to minus plus 2 to plus 3. So keep forgetting about that. Anyway, hopefully you're having a great day this morning.
Speaker C: Far so good. I mean we've got, we don't have the sunny skies. We've Got this nice dome of clouds and. But the weather is good. We're at 38 degrees right now, so looks like Mark's promise about some warmer weather is going to work out. So part of my plan is to, will be to review the PODA gear and make sure it's ready to go.
Speaker A: So are you going to do a PODA this weekend or maybe on Monday?
Speaker C: Shooting for Monday, Saturday, it's still a little bit up in the air, but the tentative plan is to have my music partner come out and get some music and studio work done. Sunday, of course, will be the Super Bowl. So yeah, next, next available POTA would be a Monday.
Speaker A: Well, maybe you'll be in 70 degree weather by that time. It sounds like, you know, the whole, the high system is going, moving back east and like the whole area back there is going to be in nice warm temperatures and we're going to be getting colder temperatures out here.
Speaker C: I don't mind the cold, but as I said, there's a difference between working outside all day. You know, if you're chopping wood or shoveling grain or working with cattle and sitting at a bench, barely moving your hands while operating a radio, there's just, just a little bit of a keeping yourself warm factor that doesn't work when you're just sitting there.
Speaker A: Well, you know, one of the national days is National Chopstick Day and supposedly chopsticks, when you do chopsticks, you're moving 50 different muscle joint areas and your shoulders and stuff. So maybe that will keep you warm if you were to eat chopsticks.
Speaker C: You know, I think the fact that I might be eating ramen with the chopsticks would help as well.
Speaker A: There you go. So you got, you got, you got your, your food, meat, your meal all planned out for your pocket.
Speaker C: It'll be a good day. Definitely looking forward to it. My son has already tapped in so we should be in good shape for that rest of the day. Today though, the get in on some cw. I want to build a mat for the paddle. It's blocking a little bit and I got a good idea from the club person who's. We're kind of reverse mentoring each other.
Speaker A: Other.
Speaker C: I've been helping him out with digital modes for the last few years and he's helping me out with CW and he had a really good idea of reversing an old pad. I said, well, why don't we take it a little further. Let's take two of them and stick them together. So you've got the grabby part on both Sides. So you're grabbing the desk and you're grabbing the. The paddle.
Speaker A: Yeah. I missed what the material was. You kind of broke up there a little bit packet wise. What was the material that you're using for the paddles.
Speaker C: To keep them from walking? Two mousepads and some tape. I'll put some reversible tape or you know, two sided tape. Sticking the mouse pads together.
Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, that's actually a pretty good idea.
Speaker C: Yeah. He had suggested just one and I thought, well, wait a minute, you don't want the. That slick side to be desk. So what if you stick them. Stick two mouse pads together and see what we can come up with. And it would also be nice doing a photo with CW because you'd have a surface that the paddle or key couldn't walk away. If you just stick it on the picnic table, it could walk a bit as well.
Speaker A: That sounds like you could take one mouse pad and kind of cut it in half or cut it in smaller sections and then put it on top of itself and that would suffice for that. So. Yeah. And I think a lot of people probably have excess mouse pads around.
Speaker C: I actually had to order them off of Amazon last night. I thought, of course we've got mouse pads, you know, but you know, it's the kind of thing that you look at and you kind of hang on to because you're never going to throw away. And I'm going through the course just when I need them all disappeared.
Speaker A: Yeah. It may be spring cleaning. That was the. That was. Happens. Yeah. I just remember going to like trade shows in different places and stuff like that. And you know, mouse pads would be something that they would hand out as kind of a promotional item, we know, with their advertisement on it.
Speaker C: Absolutely. And I've got again, you know, I think like all of us more than my share of mouse pads. And it's not the kind of thing I'd throw away because I, you know, there are things, I'm not a porter, but there are some things you hang on to because you just know that the minute you throw it away, you're going to wish you had kept it. And it doesn't take up that much space. And I, like I said, went through a couple of computer boxes last night and boy, they decided to disappear.
Speaker A: Yeah, either disappear or they're aligned someplace and you'll find them after you get the other ones that you ordered, come back in. Yeah, I think mouse pads might be going the way the dinosaur too. I mean, a lot of people are using more of the trackpads and stuff that are in the computers like the laptops nowadays. And I'm not sure a lot of people use mouses anymore.
Speaker C: Oh, I love my mice. Of course, if you're a gamer as myself is, the mouse is still a rather critical component when I'm doing the puta. I like the trackball because it's just a little more precise. But what I use at my home system is I've got a Macintosh magic mouse that controls the Mac and then the Mac is actually controlling the Windows box.
Speaker A: Okay, yeah, I have. I guess that that works might be a little overkill, but for a Mac I'd be controlling a Windows box. But yeah, my MacBook Air I have here and I use. I have a mouse lying around. But, you know, my desk gets so cluttered and stuff, it's hard to find actual room to move the mouse around. But the trackball or the trackpad, it works well. Quite well. Because there's nothing on top of that.
Speaker C: I tend to move back and forth between them. What I use is a program called Synergy. So it is a KD extender. So the keyboard from my Mac laptop, I can move back and forth between the Windows box and the Macintosh without having to switch to a separate key keyboard. So it's really handy. I get, you know, essentially I get that extra computer screen, extra computer and more flexibility as well.
Speaker A: Okay, very good. Well, yeah, I guess whatever works here sounds good. All right, well, anything else for the Net before here and I'll go ahead and maybe move on, get some of the people checked in here. But anyway, it's good talking to you and hopefully you have a beautiful. Enjoy the nice warm weather coming up there in Illinois.
Speaker C: Definitely looking forward to it. No, it'll just be a good day of some more radio dotting, the I's, crossing the T's and cleaning and just going through the. All the POTA gear, making sure that I put everything away properly. So come Monday afternoon, Monday around lunch, I can just grab the gear and head out. Definitely looking forward to the weekend, looking forward to the game and just taking a bit of a break finding it. Today is a bit of a mental health day, so I will definitely remind myself that it's a lower front breathe. Seven three to you in the net, Tom and nine muf.
Speaker A: Very good there, Daniel. You have a great day and have a. I don't want to talk to you before Monday. Have a great POTA event and hopefully all that stuff, all that is good for you and get some good contacts there. All right, so 7:3 to you, and thanks for checking in. Enjoy the warm weather that's coming to you. So clearing with N9MUF. This is NN6H, Tom, the coffee breaknet. So my last check in, I have in November 3rd, Gulf, Mexico, Sierra. Good morning to you or good afternoon to you. And can I get a name and location there, please?
Speaker C: Roger that.
Speaker A: The name is Rick, Romeo, India, Sierra, Kilo, and I'm located in Wade, Whiskey, Alpha, Delta, Echo, Wade, North Carolina. And just coming on the node, all star node that I have set.

Speaker A: Up and using a Kenwood THB74 trying to figure out what's going on because sometimes it, sometimes it hears really well inside the building and sometimes it doesn't. Just figuring that out and not sure what's happening. I think there's something going on inside the building in the house here. Not sure what it is, but just had the HT sitting on the table and literally walking around to other parts of the house would cause the no signal not carrying the hd but just me physically walking would cause the nose signal to fluctuate a hum on it. So I don't know what's going on. It's really a weird problem. N3 Golf Mike Sierra.
Speaker B: Okay there, Rick. Yeah. N3GMF NN6H and by the way, welcome to the Coffeebrooknet. We do this every morning on this repeater on this node every morning from 7:30 until 10:00am all right. Well I guess how you mentioned about affecting your node there. How, how far is your node away from your radio and also depends on what kind of antenna you have on that node. Maybe it's just, you're just interfering with the, the waves going.
Speaker A: It's just a stock clear node as far as the antenna goes. Gosh, I don't know. Distance between the node and the HT. Gosh, I'm going to say maybe 100ft, something like that just over in the other room. So it's really not really not that far away. 200ft maybe. Total square footage in the house is about 1600. So it's a single dwelling house, brick house mainly and can't quite figure it
Speaker B: out as to why.
Speaker A: Why the note? Why. I mean I should be full quieting into my note and full quieting to hear it. And I thought maybe it was just walking around with the HT but had the HT sitting on the dresser and walking around in the same room and the signal was fluctuating. So it's weird.
Speaker B: Well, it definitely sounds like you're, you're interfering with the signal itself coming from the clear node. Yeah, the. So we have a. I don't know if you're aware, but we have a net on Monday nights on this repeater on this node. 51018 and we do the, it's called the all nodes net. Well originally we started out as the clear node net because a number of us, you know, a few years ago had clear nodes. So we were exchanging information and stuff. So we started a net for that and it's a pretty popular net. It's on Monday night 6pm Pacific Time, 9pm Eastern Time, your time. And it goes for an hour and we host that and then just ask questions or people ask questions about all star clear nodes. Anything that's node related dstar and stuff. And the whole idea like on clear nodes has come up like that hum that you talk about. A lot of us found that it's either from the power supply itself that causes the hum or the most likely the antenna. And actually stick a longer antenna on the clear node, it works better because one of the theories is that short antenna is so short that RF gets put into the Raspberry PI and causes interference there. So a longer antenna and that would also probably help me with your reception thing too. So I don't know if you've tried changing it out to a longer antenna. Anyway, back to you there. N3GMs and N6H.
Speaker A: N6H N3GMS now haven't, haven't not done that. That's a good, good suggestion. I've got it, got it on Ethernet and you know, just because I know the WI fi is not that great, but put it on WI fi and it didn't seem to help. It did a little bit. The interesting thing was I had it on WI fi this morning a little bit and it wasn't quite as noisy. Not sure moved it away from the cable modem. So there may be some interference coming in from there. Don't know what's going on there but have to find a longer antenna and stick it on there and see what I can do. But you know, it's weird. This is probably the clearest I've heard it. In fact, sometimes I can't even get into the node from this spot in the house. But for some reason right now it's working. So I really don't know what, where the interference is coming from. But anyway, just checking in, wanted to, wanted to say hello and you know, kind of see what was going on since it really was working today. And we will let you, let you go and say seven threes and you know, we'll come up with a plan on the node as far as getting a different antenna on it and kind of going from there, see what we can figure out.
Speaker B: N6H N3GMS. All right, yeah. N3GMs and N6H for the coffee breaknet. All right, well very good. Well, good to meet you there. And yeah, try a different antenna. Typically if you have an HT or a couple HTs you may just be able to temporarily use one of those ht antennas and just see how it changes the situation with that little stubby antenna. I know that the reception is not always that great and it does cause interference issues. And also we've also found any lights and stuff that may be LED type lights and stuff that are near the radio or near the node can also cause interference and stuff things too, so. Or just how the wiring on the power going into the PI is routed when it's in the air of anything that might be causing it. A lot of these bricks that are used to power up different devices and stuff, you know, are using switching power supplies and they can also cause noise issues also. Anyway, good luck with that and maybe you want to bring up your questions to the the AllNotesNet on like I say, Monday nights at 6pm which is 9pm your time on this repeater. This note 51018. You can do that and you can also get into us direct if you just want to do the the note number for the W6ek. The node number is 5101858 and also I don't know if you're aware of it, but we had there's also a Parrot node that Patrick in 2Dyi has created. It's at 55553. That's four fives and a three. If you connect it to that node, it will respond back with your audio level whether it's low, high or just right. And it will also echo back your signal so you can audio sound. So that's another thing for checking out your notes. So it's 55553. Anyway, seven three is you there Rick. And thanks for checking in. N3GMS and N6H.
Speaker A: How far away should I be able to get into my clear node? Like you know, because there's the opposite end of the house. The node is completely dead. So just curious what you think about that.
Speaker B: Well, I would definitely say a couple hundred feet would be would work out. Again, it kind of sounds like your antenna or just the location of it is not good there. So I would definitely try a different antenna and see how that improves the situation.
Speaker A: Roger that. Yeah, we'll look around for a different antenna and stick on there. So sounds like a plan. 73 N 3 GMS. Thanks for the information.
Speaker B: Very good. Yeah. In fact on my clear node I have a two story house here and I have the new clear node just up in the house with a different antenna. But I can, you know, I can actually go out almost a mile away. And here my note I probably can't Connect back into it, hear it. So it goes quite a ways or it can. So I would think that just from one end of the house to the other and that house that you have, we should be able to hear it. All right. Yeah, just try a different antenna and let us know how that works. You know maybe check into the net on Monday nights. All right, clearing with Rick back in North Carolina. This is Tom NN6H. This is the coffee breaknet on the W60K repeater. We want to remind people that tonight we're going to have an ad hoc trivia net starting at 7:30. This is a non hosted net but should be some people there, Ray, KK 6am, maybe Tom, KB6SSN and others will be there and so bring, be prepared to bring your own trivia questions and It'll go from 7:30 until 8:30 Pacific Time on the W60K repeater. All Star Node 51018 on Echo Lake. So that's always a fun event. All right, who else is out there for check ins? We're getting, we've got 20 minutes left in the net here so I'll take Ragtu or in and outs. Who's out there? This is tom nn6 inch comment for rick alpha india6 uniform, sierra, ko6idv dan, kk6am.
Speaker C: Recheck KC8 box queen Victoria and just
Speaker D: in case I doubled with Brian.
Speaker B: Comment for Rick, Kilo, Oscar 6 Lima, Golf Papa, Glenn, quick in and out. Okay, this is who I have here.
Speaker A: I have
Speaker B: KG6NLW and Frank, got you there for a recheck or a comment. I have Glenn, K06 LGP as in and out. I got 6Y6, I got a recheck from KC8FQV, I got KK6am, I got K06IDV and I got AI6US. Anybody else that I'm missing from this group before I go to the recheck and the in and outskirts. Okay, let me go to Frank. Go ahead Frank there with your comment.
Speaker D: All right for Rick there with the clear node. I don't have a clear node but I do have an all scan note. I'm using just the simple rubber duck HT antenna on it. I can get around my whole property which is just over 2,700 square feet and I can get at least a half mile out from the QTH with just that going on there. So yeah, I'd switch antennas and see
Speaker B: what she can do with it. Okay, we're good there Frank. Yeah, that's kind of my My opinion also that just switching antennas that that little stubby antenna that's on the clear node is not a very good effective radiator and does cause issues there. So yeah, just getting an HD antenna, something that's a little bit longer would be good for you there. All right, so let me. So let me go to the recheck here. I got Mark for a recheck. KC8FQV.
Speaker A: Go ahead.
Speaker B: What's your recheck?
Speaker C: All right. Okay, so okay, I believe I just looking for it. I think it was Tom. The one was talking about the streaming and that and the different days. I was going to try to find anything and I think if I just look his call sign up, I can probably get to it without having to go through all the YouTube stuff and it probably will drag me over to the YouTube. So yeah, he was doing the streaming. In that case, see it up.
Speaker B: I believe it might have been tomorrow.
Speaker D: That would have been me. Kilo Golf six November Lima Whiskey. Yeah, you should be able to just search my call sign and it should come up like on Google. It's probably the third result. At least it is for me here. It's also on my QRZ page.
Speaker C: All right, I copied that killer. Your call is KC6 1. Quick enough. I did record it so I can
Speaker B: go back and play it.
Speaker D: Kilo Golf 6. Kilo Golf 6 November Lima Whiskey.
Speaker C: I copy. Thank you and thanks to the net. So I was popular. Okay, so keep it back to net control.
Speaker B: Okay, very good there. So let me go to my in and out, which is Glenn K06 LGP. Good morning. What do you have for the net this morning? Good morning. Not much for the net. It looks like a beautiful day. Happy Friday and great day to everyone on the net. Thanks for taking my check in. This is Glenn Kilo Oscar 6 LGP. Okay, we're good there, Glenn. Well, got you checked in there. Thanks for, for checking in and. Okay, I'm looking at my messenger. So I have a message from.
Speaker A: From Jerry.
Speaker B: So Jerry had a comment about. About the clear no distance. WA 60. Do you want to mention your comment? Yeah. Good morning everybody. WA60.
Speaker E: When I was listening to that, I was remembering I sit up here on a hill and. And Dan kn6wu is down in Citrus Heights, I think, or North Highlands, somewhere like that, about 15 miles from me. And I can work his node from here on uhf. And I remember Smitty took his clear notes down to his in laws that live in the desert outside California City
Speaker B: and they live on a hill.
Speaker E: And he Just put it there in their house and he could work it from California City, four something miles away. So you get the right antenna, it will really go.
Speaker B: That's it, Tom. Thanks. WXP. Okay, very good, very good there, Jerry. Yeah, it definitely should work, you know, in a 1700 square foot property and stuff. Yeah, like I said, I can hear mine probably about a mile away when I'm driving away from my node. So it does work. Do you want me to put you at the end of the list here for a check in?
Speaker E: Nah, keep it for somebody who has something important to say.
Speaker B: The coffee break, you don't need things important to say. Okay. We got you in the log anyway. All right, very good. Thanks for that. Thanks for that comment. All right, let me go to the top of my list here. So. Brian AI6US Good morning. Hey, good morning, Tom. Everybody on the Net, AI6US here. Brian Medevista, California yeah, you know all this talk about trying to increase the range of the node. Just remember, don't go crazy on this. I heard some conversation last night about trying to cover distance using a clear node or using one of these nodes. Not a good idea. They do not have filtering in them. They, you know, they're very susceptible to interference, can cause a lot of key ups. You know, it's just not a, you know, if you want to do something that gets beyond the boundaries of your property, definitely get a controller with a
Speaker A: proper radio like a Motorola or you
Speaker B: know, just your choice of radio. But anyway, you know, everybody talks about increasing the range which, you know, using a node to do that, not a good idea. Those are very good points there. Yeah, we've talked about that on the, the AllnotesNet a number of times here. Yeah, the, the SA818 radio they use in the, these nodes that typically using these nodes like Clear Node and All Star and sharing nodes and stuff like that. Yeah, they're not made to be tied to an external Antenna. They're not RFYs. The output of those things aren't very clean. In fact, my, my node here, my node is a 440 radio that I have for my clear node. And I can actually pick it up very strongly in the, the 220 band. In the 220 band. So yeah, it definitely is not clean as far as its output. So you shouldn't be sticking onto an antenna because you could be interfering with lots of other services and things out there. So yeah, it's okay just with a small antenna in the house. But again, it still does distance and the island if you really want to make a repeater out of it, get a commercial radio. Get a radio that you can. That's meant to be. That's cleaner. All right, very good there, Brian. Anything else?
Speaker D: Yeah, I just mentioned one of the
Speaker A: things that really improved my radio on
Speaker B: my node was to add a bandpass filter. And so I just a surface mount band pass filter put in line. I think it cost me a whopping five bucks or something off of ebay. And yeah, just.

Speaker A: Got a simple UHF range so it filtered out anything outside of the UHF frequency range and it cleaned it up quite a bit actually. But not a notch filter or anything, but it worked well. Anyway, beautiful day up here in Meadow Vista, California. Blue skies, the sun is out and outdoor projects are beckoning me. The grass is starting to grow, the weeds are growing even faster. Anyway, hope that everybody has a Wonderful day ahead. AI6US. Brian yeah, I'm starting to see the, the sun come out here. It's kind of gray skies, but still some sun here in Discovery Bay. So yeah, the sun is shining, the fish are jumping and the birds are singing. So everything is good. All right, well thanks for that and thanks for your comments. And you can catch Brian doing the coffee breaknet Monday through Wednesday on this same repeater, all star node and echo link. So anyway, thanks for doing all you do there, Brian. All right, so clearing with the AI6 us next I have Dan the K06 IDV. Good morning. What do you have for the net this morning?
Speaker B: Tom?
Speaker A: Yeah, not a lot.
Speaker B: Wanted to say hi. Thanks for running the coffee break. I'm impressed. You guys get all these check ins down so fast. Every now and then I want to, hey, I want to get that, get ahold of that person. I can't even get their call sign now fast enough for one person.
Speaker A: It's a matter of just kind of listening. You kind of get used to it. And a lot of the people are check ins that we've had before so you know, a lot of them come up and our regulars too. So that always helps. But yeah, it's kind of, it's a good skill to pick up is just write down call signs and stuff so maybe you can actually play at home there. You know, when we're getting call for check ins just try writing down the call signs and eventually that skill will improve that. But I still have problems with prefixes. I usually get the suffixes is fine, but I usually mess up. Like you know, if somebody's a km6 or a ko6 or a kn6, those things always mess up. But anyway, thanks for that, those comments.
Speaker B: Well, you guys do a great job.
Speaker C: Yeah, I guess it's supposed to get
Speaker B: Sunny in like 70 here today in Orangeville, but it still looks cloudy and a little overcast.
Speaker A: Yeah, I think it's going to get better then we'll probably have a couple days of nice weather then I guess. According to Mark, it's going to turn probably around Tuesday of next week. We'll get maybe a bit of rain and start getting colder. But then I guess the east coast will really heat up.
Speaker B: Yeah, we'll be good if we get some rain.
Speaker A: Yeah, I enjoy hearing Mark. So, weather forecast.
Speaker B: Hopefully get some snow up in the mountains. It looks like it's getting pretty empty up there.
Speaker A: Yeah, I heard Graydon. Graydon went over. Graydon. Lisa went over to Torino and I heard him comment on the Net here that. Yeah, it was very thin snow up there. So, yeah, we definitely need a cold storm and we need to kind of replenish some. Yeah. Help for our summertime. Otherwise we'll be talking about the D word, the drought word.
Speaker B: Yeah, we don't want that. We don't want the fire word either. I do have a question I don't know if you have an answer to or not. I run a Yaesu FT60, and at the end of my transmissions, when I let up my hand off the push the talk button, I get like
Speaker A: two
Speaker B: seconds of my transmission repeated to me, and I'm not sure why.
Speaker A: Now, what you're saying is that's a common thing. Since we went to the voting receivers, there was a delay in the system. So, yeah, you're actually hearing kind of two seconds of your. It's kind of delayed that much. So the best way to resolve that is to basically have a couple seconds of silence before you release the push to talk. That way you won't hear yourself come back.
Speaker B: Okay, that explains it because, yeah, if I do Simplex and I talk with a friend, I haven't noticed it as much because we're just going direct and sometimes the distance is more. So it probably depends on how quiet I am before I hit the button. Let's release the button.
Speaker A: You won't get that on Simplex. You'll just get that on the three feeder system. So, yeah, that's something that was kind of an artifact when we went to the voting receivers. But, yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. I would just kind of have a couple seconds of silence or maybe a second of silence and then just release the button and you'll be fine. It's only, you know, it's less than a second of that delay, so it shouldn't be a problem if you just kind of wait a little bit and then release the button. Okay.
Speaker B: Yeah, that's what I'll do then. Thanks for that information and I certainly appreciate the voter receivers because otherwise I don't think I hit the repeater directly.
Speaker A: Okay, very good. Yeah, why don't you give me a. Give me a short transmission and I'll see where you're coming through.
Speaker C: Okay.
Speaker B: Yeah, so just working away today at the office and actually at home most of the the coffee break.
Speaker C: Thanks.
Speaker A: Yeah, you're coming through about 3/4 into Mountaintop and a little bit into Rockland.
Speaker B: So.
Speaker A: Yeah, definitely, definitely. It's receiving you fine. Very good there, Dan. And you have a great day and a great, great weekend. And thanks for checking in. We got you in the coffee Rick net and take care there. I saw. So anyway, I'll go ahead. Anything else for the next K06IDV NN6H?
Speaker B: Yeah, just real quick. So when you say I'm hitting the mountaintop three quarters and I'm actually hitting the actual repeater then.
Speaker A: Yeah, so the repeater is located in Auburn, but we have three receivers that are spread out throughout the area. Mountaintop, we have Rockland and we have. Yeah, I can't remember the location up in the airport there. So yeah, so we can kind of tell from that. And so there is no receiver actually in Auburn itself. It's just the transmitter.
Speaker B: Okay, so that's what I'm hitting 3/4.
Speaker A: After that. And yeah, Georgetown is the other one. For some reason that just flipped my mind. My producer gave me the hint there. Yeah. So Georgetown, Rockland, and Mountaintop.
Speaker B: Okay, well, thanks a lot, Tom.
Speaker C: Have a good day. K06 IDV.
Speaker B: Clear.
Speaker A: All right, 7:3 is through there. Dan and I saw W2VX. Doug, I saw you key up your uncertain. Did you have a comment? Good morning, Tom.
Speaker D: Yeah, I was just going to add in all of the delay is on the Internet side. So it has nothing to do with the speed of light in the transmission of rf.
Speaker A: Just the way we have everything connected there that we are using the Internet to send back all the reads, the motor receiver transmissions back to our node in the vault there. Okay, thanks for that, Doug. Do you want me to add you
Speaker C: to the end of the list?
Speaker A: Roger that. All right, very good. And Brian has told me that the delay is 200 milliseconds. So that delay that you hear when you release the button, so you know, 1/5 of a second is what you get there. So if you just kind of have silence for just a brief time there before you lease the push stock. If you're on rf, then you won't hear yourself come back to you. Okay, so clearing with Daniels and next to my list is Ray. KK 6:00am Good morning, Ray.
Speaker C: Good morning. No, you're making something that sounds bad. It's actually a feature. You know, you got into the Repeater. If you hear yourself for a fractional second after you end key.
Speaker A: That's actually a good point. Thanks.
Speaker C: Yeah there's a field that use that in that respect because it's just like people don't realize there's a different ketone
Speaker D: for
Speaker C: RF stations and Internet stations. It's like you pick these things up and it makes it easier to know what's going on.
Speaker A: That is very true. So are you going to be semi non hosting the trivia net tonight?
Speaker C: There is no host but you keep saying it's me and Tom. You're going to scare people off. I think theta kind of stepped up yesterday too that she's. She would be upset if it didn't happen too. So yeah, we got. And Bob's got some more questions or it should be fun.
Speaker A: I was just indicating that there was at least two people that I knew that would probably be involved. So yeah, there'd be others involved of course and looking to everybody bring their own set of trivia questions and add to the pool. So I think that'll be good. It's always a fun event. So thanks for doing that. Thanks for non hosting the net.
Speaker C: Like I say, I'm not a net control. I'm not a net host of any kind. I just like to see the, you know, once Don started it, I just like to see it continue if, if it goes two or three weeks with nettle trivia it'll probably just disappear. And that's what worries me.
Speaker A: That's the issue with nets is that you need to have consistency. Even things that are every other week like that can be a problem. You know, before, you know we talked about the all nodes net. You may be doing it every other week but you know, we have it every week because. And it's a consistent thing. People know that every Monday to show up for the all notes that when you start having gaps and stuff there, especially when you get like five weeks in a month then people kind of miss when it's going to be on. So that's kind of the idea. But yeah. Glad that you're stepping up and at least providing some continuity there.
Speaker C: Well, you know I never was that much of a trivia fan unless it's played in a winery. But that's a different story.
Speaker A: Yeah, it becomes a drinking game. I realize that anyway. Yeah. So it should be fun tonight. 7:30 Pacific Time here on this repeater all star node 51018 and on Echo link. So everybody come join in and bring some questions.
Speaker C: And now I've run You over the limit. There's probably more people sitting out there waiting. So. 73 KK 6am.
Speaker A: Okay, thanks for bringing me over the limit there, Ray. You have a good, a good day and a good night and have a good, good trivia contest tonight. So join us at 7:30 for the non hosted ad hoc trivia contest. 7:30 tonight. Okay. And I got a couple more people on my list here. So you brought me over to limit. But we still have more to go and then we'll do some final check ins. So I have Patrick in KN6 YCG. Good morning. What do you have for that this morning.
Speaker C: Your radio is on the right frequency.
Speaker A: This is the home of Sac Valley's original one. Maybe I timed down Patrick. KN6Y, C, G and N6H. Okay, I think I timed out Patrick there. Sorry about that. Okay, so the last of my list would be Doug W2VX. Good morning, Doug. Good morning, Tom.
Speaker D: Yes it is. It's a beautiful morning. The birds are singing. I don't know if the fish are jumping, but the bicycle is ready, so it's calling my name. I'm gonna head down to the river and enjoy the beautiful California win.
Speaker A: Only in California can you enjoy that. Well, I guess next week maybe on the east coast you can too, because let's get in the 70s there. But well, enjoy your bike ride. It's nice to have your bike calling you there every day and getting exercise and stuff. So I know that you enjoy that. So hopefully that'll be a nice day, a nice time.
Speaker D: Yeah.
Speaker A: Thanks Tom.
Speaker D: In a. When you were over here and I was trying to get free DV working and I was moaning and groaning about stability and all of that, I have no idea what happened. But your presence must have been the thing that repaired it because I went back down, turned it on and it's been working ever since. So thanks for coming over and however you did it, helping me fix freedv.
Speaker A: Oh, you're welcome for that. I don't know. Yeah, just a matter of doing it. Of course you have some of those theories there. That may have been a thing too. Well, I'm glad that works. And have you made any contacts on Freedville?
Speaker D: Yeah, it's been kind of touch and go, you know, because the band's been so wacky and I only have 20 and 40 antennas set up. So I'm going to start increasing my band capabilities and I'm looking forward to that. This Zygo 6100 is a lot of fun to play with and so I'M
Speaker B: going to play with it.
Speaker D: Generally, I'm not a radio operator and I don't actually consider myself to be a radio operator yet, but maybe if I get involved in a couple of field days or something like that and watch other people really done professionally, we
Speaker A: have some professional
Speaker D: dx'.
Speaker C: Ers.
Speaker D: I think it'll be a lot of fun, something to do something different here in Never Neverland. Back to you, Tom. I think that'll make that my final so you can move on down your list.
Speaker A: Very good there, Doug. Well, good. Yeah, it was good to see you there and I'm glad that your free DV is working. Yeah, that's nice little radio. I like, I like that it looks well and never, never laps there the way you have have it set up in that. All right, well, very good. Well, enjoy your bike ride, enjoy the weather and maybe we'll, we'll talk soon. If you get a chance, maybe give me a call later today. I got a. Got a little project that I was working on that we might want to talk about.
Speaker C: All right.
Speaker A: Seven three is there, Doug. And thanks so clearing with W2VX. So this is the coffee breaknet. I'm Tom NM6H.
Speaker B: This is Aloha Friday.
Speaker A: I have been your net host today. I'm going to go ahead here and open it up here for log only. Log only. Or if you have a short in and out, we can do that too. So who's out there for the coffee rig Nappy as we wind things down for this Friday, February 6, 2026. Who's out there?
Speaker C: NN6. Good evening or morning Tom and hope
Speaker A: you have a great day.
Speaker C: Kilo 6 victory for the log. Ki 68 ki 6 lop.
Speaker A: Thanks Tom. K4lgi. K6 psych whiskey bravo 3 charlie, sierra, yankee for the log wb6lpj. Okay, here is who I heard and I assume that majority of these are in and out because you didn't say you're for the log. But I, I have two logs and I have the rest or no commits. So I got wb6lpj, don, I got w3csy, rick for the log, k6bsy. Jeff got the k4lgi, sam, ki6llp, rust, ki16dc, glenn, k6dlk, dan, I got k6victor, papa for the log, got wk&6wq, kb6dfp and.

And KN6GAA. So I look through the list here quickly, then I'll do another round here. So, Frank, KN6GAA a long time no doc. Good morning. Morning, Tom and Danette. Just a quick hello here from Arden Arcade. Hope everything is doing good. Just working a couple little projects out here. Still working with. With programming with. With Python. Having a lot of fun with that. And for Brian's sake, if he's listening out there, my neighbor just brought me a batch of freshly baked shortbread cookies with icing. Believe it or not, they're not going to last too long. But anyways, hope you're doing good, Tom. I hope you enjoy the super bowl and have. Have a great weekend. Okay, very good there, Frank. Yeah, definitely we'll do that and enjoy the shortbread cookies here. That sounds good. I'm actually hungry. I need to get some. Some breakfast here. All right, very good. Well, you enjoy the weekend too and enjoy the game if you're going to watch that. So I'll go ahead and clear with KN6 GAA. Next I have Ken, KB7 DFP. And of course you know what the question of the day is. Yes, it's a super question. That's what I. It's gonna be soup. It's gonna be probably Campbell's Chunky, but I don't know which one yet. So it's to be determined. KB7 BSP mobile. Okay, Ken, so Campbell's Chunky soup of some sort there. Okay, very good. Well, thanks for that and that. Yeah, you normally kind of round out our list here, but I have a number of people after you there. All right, Ken, we'll go ahead and clear with you. And you take care. Next up, Dan, KN6WQU Good morning. Good morning, Tom and Annette. Yeah, I'm a little stumbling my words this morning because I got to sleep in a little bit this morning. Yeehaw. So it's. I don't know if it's morning or darker yet. I can tell you right now I'm not late, so that's good. So that's all that matters to me. I got sleeping a little bit and that was really cool. So I got a couple seconds to do today. Nothing much because today is my day off. So I'm going to stick to that, but nothing major. So this is CN6WQ and off Monday off. Thanks for watching that day by. No problem, Dan. I'll respond to Brian or to Tom. Either one is fine with me. All right, you have a great day and have a. Enjoy your day off and sound like you got hopefully that is going to be happening today with the KSX WQU next. Aloha K6 the. Okay. Good morning and Aloha Friday to you. Happy Aloha Friday, beta. I guess that would be pushing my luck. Tommy Bahami, great to hear your voice. Thanks for bringing us all together. It is raining here in Maui and it's still a beautiful, beautiful day. So I plan on still heading down to the beach. And my church should be empty today because everyone will probably be off of the beach worried about getting wet going into the ocean. So it sounds like you swapped out the bird tape for rain. Okay. Why did you do that? No, I think the birds are there. They're just in the background. It's just so loud with the. With the rain coming down in sheep. But. But they are. They are there. I'm hearing them somewhere in the back there. I always wonder what happens to those guys. You know, they're hunkered down somewhere, but I can still hear them. I think having rain in Maui is probably still. Still paradise there. So. And it probably won't last too long there. So enjoy that and enjoy going to your church. Will do. Tom. Thanks. Great hearing your voice this morning. Got our Super Bowl Sunday planned. I don't know how it turns out this way, but the conversation starts out as, hey, what are you doing for Super Bowl Sunday? It's like, I don't know, what are you up to? And I think the response from everybody was we're coming on over to your place. So unbeknownst to me, I guess I'm hosting a Super bowl party. I'm fully aware of it now. Like I said before, I said yesterday, the party is at Dan's house. Well, yeah, I wish I could could fly out there and join you for your party at your place. Maybe I'll surprise you. Okay. Very good there, Dan. You have a great day and a great weekend. K6DLK NN6H NN6H K6DLK 73 and aloha. Aloha, Dan. Russ. Oh no, I got Glenn. Ki6tc. Good morning, Glenn. What do you have in the net this morning? Good morning, Tom. Well, shortbread. Shortbread cookies. I just doesn't confuse my interest is peace. I'd like to know more. I guess I'll have to maybe check the net or something. I've never heard of that before. But I'll say 7:3 to everyone and have a great weekend. KI6PC. Yep. Yeah. Shortbread cookies. Yeah. Wow. I mean maybe you can talk to Frank KN6GAA and and maybe somehow arrange to meet up with him and maybe you can exchange those. Okay, Glenn, well, you take care. Thanks for checking in. We got you in the log here so clearing with kaz Next Russ Ki6 lob Good morning, Russ. What do you have for the night this morning? I don't have a lot. I was thinking that you were calling for the log onlys, but I'll say hi to everybody and it looks like it's going to be a pretty decent weekend and I got plenty to do, lots of projects, too many to list, too many to get wrapped my head around actually. And it's going to be a great weekend. So everybody make it a great one. And thanks for taking the net, Tom and have a great weekend yourself. Kic Ki 6 Lop 73 hey, very good there, Russio. I don't get to talk to you usually you're doing a vlog only so I thought that would be take advantage of it since you didn't say you were for log. So you should take care there. And yeah, you have a great weekend. Hope good luck on getting your projects done there. Next up, Sam K4LGI Good morning, Sam. How are things in Denver this morning? Good morning, Tom and Annette. Things are very nice, sunny and warm. I'm on public transit, so thanks a lot. We'll talk to you later. K4LGI. Very good there, Sam. Well, you have a great weekend there and and be safe there in public transit. Clearing with the K4LGI next. I got Jeff a K6BSY. Good morning, Jeff. What do you have for that this morning? Well, good morning, Tom. I was kind of like Russ there. I thought it was log only, but since I have a chance to say a few things regarding the gentleman in North Carolina that had an issue with the range of his clear node. Yeah, there's something I think he needs to start changing things. But I'm like Brian, I would not change out with a with a higher gain or a bigger antenna. Keep the same, the same kind of antenna. But yeah, that should have better range than he's having. I mean I think that that's the agreement there. Yeah, I was just changing out, having changed out the small stubby antenna to one that's a little bit longer. Just kind of gets the RF away from the pie so he doesn't get the familiar buzz that we typically have with the notes. Yes, I understand that is a common solution for the clear note, but it's interesting. You'd think Sherry's would have that same issue, but not much. We do have hums but not full drought belts unless there is something wrong. Yeah, I mean Sherry Nose do have the same hum situation. I've heard them on that when they get around like Brick switching power supplies and around lights and stuff that LED lights and stuff things. But it also could be that maybe the, the antenna that he has in his clear node is, has opened up. It's not really working if, you know, for example, if I don't have an antenna on my clear node, its range is greatly reduced. So it could just be that it's just a defective antenna. So changing out with adding another antenna there to see if it works, you know, might give them the clue. Yep, yep, exactly. Or there could be a connector within the clear node itself that is damaged. But anyway, I'm sure he will figure it out. He'll get lots of assistance and a lot, a lot of, A lot of theories as to why whatever he's having problems with is going wrong. Good place to talk about that is the, the all nodes net which we do here on this repeater and this node every Monday night, p.m. pacific, 9pm Eastern. So thanks for that segue. Okay. Tom. Hey, good talking to you. You have a good day and we'll catch you later. Nn6h k6bsy. Very good there, Jeff. Yeah, good to talk to you. We haven't talked in a long time but I hope everything is going well and that you have a great, great weekend clearing with K6 Psy. Thanks Don. KV6LPJ. I have long time no talk too. Good morning Tom, and thanks for taking my check in. Got clear node up. I'm sorry. Got silver node back up and operational and also got a UHF VHF antenna back in a tree so I can now I know how it's ears. So that's. That's great. Hey, thanks for doing the net. I just wanted to do a quick in and out and, and say good morning. Everything going well here? And of course the household is looking forward to Super bowl seventh. Great day, Tom. Thank you. WB6LP. All right, very good there, Don. Yeah, you're sounding good on your note and. Yeah. And so you're. Yeah. So you can actually check out Don's. Don's his presentation on building a node with a little HT and radio on our YouTube channel so you can go to W6Ckorg on you and then look on media and go to the YouTube channel and there's a presentation there on building a all star node with an HT from Dawn WV6 LBJ presentation. All right. Very good. Good to talk to you. You and Michelle have a great weekend and enjoy the game. All right. This is the all nodes net. I'm not talking about all nodes for so long. This is the clear node net and I am Tom NN6H. Anyway we're at our after our witching hour here so I will take log log only. Final round of log onlys for check ins before we close things down. So who's out there? And in six inch kilo Whiskey, Uniform six hotel Go Pats. Actually just go any other team other than the Seahawks 7 3. Okay I heard two stations I got got ryan wu6h and I think that was mike. Km6mm. Is that you mike? Correct. This is mike at km6mm just for. Okay Mike, yeah I thought I recognized your voice. Yeah your audio is very very just just FYI audio is very low there. Not sure if you're not talking close enough to the mic or what there. But anyway we got you in the log so that those are the only two check ins I heard. So I will go ahead and close things down here. Do want to remind people that we have the Trivia night tonight at 7:30 Pacific Time on this repeater all star node 51018 Neko Link. This is trivia. So it's ad hoc trivia. Just join join whoever is there and bring some questions and you can be part of the the trivia. That's tonight at 7:30. All right. And we also have a, I mentioned have a club meeting coming up next Friday February 13th at 7:30 at our new location in Auburn at the Placer County HHS which is off Bell Road and Highway 80 in Auburn, California. Speaker A: Okay, I'm outside. Are you able to hear me, w6grc? Yeah, I hear you just fine. Yeah, I'm not sure if it was operator error or if there was just something that wasn't passing the audio through. I did hear the key up on the machine on my side.
Speaker B: Okay, yeah, I hear you. I hear you. Just finding you're hearing me. So audio is at least passing over the Internet.
Speaker C: Okay, cool. Well, problem solved.
Speaker A: We'll probably get an email or something stating that their audio wasn't passing through. He was in Sacramento with a handheld, so maybe he was just too far away.
Speaker B: So just to confirm, he was using your repeat or that repeater, and the folks on the other side were not hearing him.
Speaker A: Yeah, correct. So I was hearing him key up the machine on my side locally. I was not hearing any audio coming through just to key up. And then he came back over through an Internet connection and said, yeah, I tried the W6 GRC machine, and it wasn't working. So I'm. I'm beginning to think it was maybe something on his side.
Speaker B: Yeah, because if you weren't hearing his audio come across the repeater. Yeah, that's. I think you're right.
Speaker A: So no worries. Thank you for helping me. Check. I'm at. Appreciate that. Gonna dive my head back in and keep on working. As you know, when you get away from your business for a few days, you come back with a pile of mess.
Speaker B: Oh, yes, fully aware. All right, ma', am, I'll send you a Facebook note here later this afternoon. See you at K6JW.
