W6GRC TX (147.105 MHz) recordings for 2026-02-09

Your radio is on the right frequency. This is the home of sac Valley's original 105W6 GRC with a PL tone of 110.9.

Wb1g.asl test, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 3, 2. Wb1gasl test. Ub1g. Whiskey bravo1 gol. Wb1, Wb1g radio test inbound all star. Okay, it's working. Wb1g.

Speaker A: Sa.
Speaker B: W6lnd.
Speaker A: Hey brother. Hey brother. How you doing? WB1G about the Echo was doing some testing. We had a report that we weren't getting. Well, people that were coming up RF into 105 weren't coming all the way through to the coffee break. Although I tested RF into 105 and listened on ASL and sounds good to me, so don't know what's going on there, but. Hey, bud, good to hear your voice.
Speaker B: Gary and I did some testing earlier. I'm coming in on All Star into the machine right now.
Speaker A: Yes, as am I. But I did come in a little while ago on RF and I heard myself come out All Star. So that, that tells us RFN definitely passing audio into All Star. So I don't know what the bug or the glitch or whatever was being reported, but can't reproduce it now, that's for sure.
Speaker B: Could it be so of the clear note stuff that's going to happen if they don't get away from Ham Boy?
Speaker A: Sorry, I think I missed the first part about that. What about the clear note stuff?
Speaker B: Clear note is based on Ham voip and I'm hearing the Ham voip is going to cease to be compatible here within a month or so.
Speaker A: Yeah, I heard that it's not going to be compatible with the seven digit node numbers. I think that's what I've heard so far. That's disappointing having owned two of them or having I since I own two of them. But we'll see. We don't run any clear node stuff on the repeater down here. We're like, I think, if I recall, I think you told me this. Are you guys running ASL as a, as a controller? Because so are we.
Speaker B: Absolutely. The Raspberry PI is the controller up at the mountaintop.
Speaker A: Okay, same on, same on this side, so. Okay. Well, I don't think there's a reason I reached out to Gary and let's see. Oh, he says all good. Okay, so he's probably listening right now. But I reached out to Gary just because Brian at W60K reached out to me again today and asked me if it, if I'd heard anything. And to be perfectly honest, I've been in Boston all week, so haven't really been following much. So. Yeah, I hear, I hear it's working out though, except for the little glitch or whatever was being reported there. Maybe it was just an issue where, I mean, he said he kept hearing dead carrier, just carrier, but no audio. But it's quite Possible that somebody was just, you know, keen. No audio. Who knows?
Speaker B: Well, I think we still have some sad hams that like a quiet repeater.
Speaker A: Yeah, quite possible. And I'm sure that that repeater is not too quiet in the morning. Not these days. So how's everything else going, man? How's your boy doing, by the way? I haven't asked you about that lately.
Speaker B: Well, he's done with treatment at this point. He went down a week or so ago for a checkup and hasn't really said anything. Saw him a couple times. He hasn't really said much, but I guess for the most part, as good as can be expected.
Speaker A: Well, that's. That's good to hear. All right. Well, Farmer. Farmer Jer. I love your pictures. When I get a good deer, good John Deere on screen. But you're doing well too, man. Work's okay and everything?
Speaker B: Cleaned up, all the leaves dealt with and doing just orchard cleanup, sanitation work, and other than that, everything's good. Gonna take off for a couple days. Days this week. Go down to the World Ag Exposition and Tulare.
Speaker A: Oh, nice. Yeah, that's. That's a. That's a little bit of a drive. Tulare. Not Turlock. I was thinking Turlock at first, but yeah, Tulare, that's a bit of a cruise. So that's a drive for you. But at any rate, well, good deal, man. Good hearing you. Really excited and happy for. For Gary and the whole crew up there that you guys got that repeater run running so good. Checked it RF I've been checking it on and off RF and, you know, I think it's just the conditions for me. You know, sometimes it's beautiful. That works great. Other times I'm noisy as hell. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm running full power or whatever. I just. I. You know, keep in mind that when I plot it, you're behind the buttes for me from exactly where I am. So I'm sure that has a lot to do with it, but nice to be able to get into it all star. That's for sure. WB1G. Of course, we still have 36. Of course, I haven't forgotten about that, but my attention spin on this one because of the coffee break and ASL stuff.
Speaker B: Yeah, absolutely. I got to get with Gary. We want to. Want to do a. Do a server node and host it on a server. So we only have one connection going up to the mountain.
Speaker A: Well, I got experiment a little bit with ASL3. A lot of guys are doing that these days. In fact, a lot of us are doing it as kind of a steerable node and using our shark M1kes, for example, and connecting up to a virtual node and then dry, you know, swinging it around. Kind of like the idea that when we were originally talking about it. But at any rate. All right, brother, I'm gonna let you hang. I think the dinner bell is gonna ring here any minute, so gonna head back downstairs. But good. Good hearing you, brother. I'll try not to be as much of a stranger out here. I happy to hear you doing well.
Speaker B: I hope everything's good and family's all good down your way. And Bad Bunny should just about be over. And I'll go back to my football game.
Speaker A: I'm. I'm watching Bad Bunny right now. I'll own it. It's really strange. I know who Bad Bunny is as a dj, and I. I haven't heard one lick of English, so it's been all in espanol and kind of like talking. Not really rapping, just talking. It's. Yeah, it's interesting. I mean, you know, whatever. Who would have thought that they'd do a halftime show that's not in English at all? 0 so weird. WB1G I won't open up that can of worms, so we're gonna get it in trouble here.
Speaker B: All right, Smitty7 3, good to hear from you. We'll catch up with you soon. W6LND will be Claire via All Star
Speaker A: C Ola there, Jeremy. All right, I'll catch you later, brother. WB1G.

Speaker A: Good morning and welcome to the coffee breaknet on the W6ek repeater located in Auburn, California. The coffee breaknet where the sun is always shining, the birds are singing and the fish are jumping. This net is sponsored by the Sierra Foothills Amateur Radio Club in Northern California. And we're here every day of the week from 7:30am to 10:00am Pacific Time. Please welcome your net control host and conversation facilitator Brian AI6US, checking in from beautiful Meadow Vista, California. Let's get the coffee breaknet underway because it's a great way to start our day. Good morning everyone.
Speaker B: Good morning everyone. I'm Brian AI6us and want to thank Alvin and his backups for a kind welcome this morning. It's Monday, February 9, 2026 and wow, I hope you had a great weekend. I know some people out there are probably celebrating and other people are just kind of like, well, maybe enjoying one of the. I think it's one of the top five days for calling in sick to work after Super Bowl.
Speaker C: Now let's see.
Speaker B: Let's get this Monday underway with. Let's see, let's take a look at the national days and then we'll take a couple of quick rounds of in and outs as you start your Monday. Today is Read in the Bathtub Day. Yes, indeed. Much safer if you have probably a paperback book rather than hauling electronic device into the tub with you,
Speaker D: especially if
Speaker B: it's plugged into the wall outlet. Read in the Bathtub Day. Today is National Pizza Day. You know, when we have the discussion of pizzas, there's always the anchovies or no anchovies or does pineapple belong on pizza? National Pizza Day. You know, I also did notice that today is another chocolate day. How many chocolate days are on a calendar? I have to ask for a friend. Today is Cut the Cord day. Now, over the past 10 plus years we've seen a lot of people cut that cord and quite often it was for savings. But then you look at your bill now and it's probably higher than ever because we have multiple streaming services rather than a single provider. So here's something point that we can chat about today. If you cut the cord, are you saving any money or have you found that you have to subscribe to multiple streaming services to get those few channels that you do like to watch? Today is national Develop Alternative Vices day. Yeah, replace your vices or excesses with those that are less harmful to your health and psyche. Once again, asking for a friend. Does that include amateur radio? Clean out your computer day yeah, computers. You know, it's kind of like my storage shed. You know, I might need that in 40 years. I better keep it. Good morning. Let's go ahead and take a couple of quick rounds of in and outs as you start your day. I'm going to start this morning with local RF stations checking into the WS6EK repeater directly and then after that I will take check ins from the Internet. So anyone wanting to check in from an RF station for the cock break depth this morning?
Speaker E: Ko6th Good morning, Victor.
Speaker D: Good morning
Speaker C: Kilo Delta 6 Charlie, Delta Quebec. Wrecking off Highlands.
Speaker B: All right, we're going to clean up that list quickly. I heard katie 6 cdq. Good morning rick. And good morning to brett, kb6luv and good morning greg, ko6ch and good morning to larry. K06ihj. There were two or three others or more underneath. Who did I miss from the rf local crowd?
Speaker F: Kilo oscar 6, kilo mike romeo over.
Speaker B: Kk 6am. Good morning ray. Kk 6am and good morning to robert ko 6 kmr. All right, now let's see who is checking in from the Internet. All star or echo link. Check ins.
Speaker E: 3 lima, sierra,
Speaker B: November 6 charlie, kilo
Speaker E: victor,
Speaker B: November 6th papa papa. Papa. W2vx.
Speaker C: All right.
Speaker B: Ke0yjj. I noticed the last couple days your node keeps keying up so I'm not trying trying to figure out are you trying to check in or is that your node just randomly popping off at us?
Speaker C: This is k0yj
Speaker B: but it's weird. Yeah, you're in and out of your repeater so maybe you're some distance from it. Okay, well maybe you can check in later on while you're close when you're closer to your node, see. Good morning to Doug W2VX and good morning to Chris. N6C.
Speaker C: Excuse me.
Speaker B: N6 Papa Papa Papa. Good morning Carl. N6CKV and good morning to Mary W3LS did I miss anyone checking in through the Internet?
Speaker C: N5 tin.
Speaker B: All right, yeah. Ke0y j j, if that was you trying to check in again, we are only getting a kerchunk from you. N5 Tin Good morning there and got you on the list as as well there, Steve. All right, up to the top of the list, longer list. Let's keep the check ins rather short, under 2 minutes if we can and we'll work through this list in a rapid manner. Good morning Larry, ko6ihj Boy, that was a nail biter yesterday for the Seahawks. Good morning, Brian. Good morning Coffee breakneck. Was there a game on yesterday? I didn't, I didn't know. Oh my gosh. That's right.
Speaker C: The Seahawks won. Yeah.
Speaker B: Nail biter. No. Kind of a comical release. Yes. Hope everybody enjoyed the game of whoever watched. Enjoy it out there. Tom's in the shack now. Which breed this time? FT101E and a whole bunch of brand new tubes and boxes so we can
Speaker C: have some fun today.
Speaker B: No. Very good. And does that have that auxiliary 11 meter position? He said no, this one doesn't.
Speaker D: Okay.
Speaker B: I had one that did back in the day. Well, good morning. Yes, indeed. That game yesterday, I love that the networks cut away to the Robert Kraft and his family sitting there watching the game and right in the middle of the cutaway, it had to be a maximum of 6, 5, 6 seconds he cut off a big old yawn and didn't look very engaged. And I thought, boy, if the owner of New England is yawning to a multi million viewer audience. Yeah, I guess we feel the same
Speaker C: after that. It was, it was, it was good.
Speaker B: I'm gonna let you get going. There's a long list there. Just had to get to be the first one into here and wish everybody a happy Monday and go Hawks. K06ihj73 Brian, thanks for.
Speaker C: Other than that.
Speaker B: All right. You have a great time playing, working or playing with that Yaesu FT101E and yeah, that was a workhorse of a machine for sure. Hey, Good morning Greg.KO6th
Speaker E: Good morning, Brian. I guess it's morning. It's morning. Yes, it's morning. Good morning Brian. Ko6th boat day today. So I'm getting, getting ready to head on out and gonna actually take, hopefully take the boat out a little bit, swap slips with the prior owner because we're in the wrong slips and check, just check a few things out. So fingers crossed everything goes well. Also there's one of the ports, portholes, port lights, whatever they are, that windows is leaking and I got it before the rain comes tomorrow, I got to figure out what's going on there too. So it's been a busy day, long day. But yeah. Have a little bit of fun down there. Ko6th
Speaker B: yeah, not really sure what kind of traffic you'll be driving into today. Will it be super heavy with a lot of people exiting after super bowl or will it be light because no one's going to work the day after Super Bowl. Well, good luck with your, with your trip today and hopefully you have a good, good voyage away from the Dock and back in. Ko6thai6us. Happy Monday.
Speaker E: Happy Monday. Oh yeah, I'm hoping that we reverse commute in both both morning and evening so we'll see what what happens. And yeah, it's got to get done today though, so whatever. Ko6gh everybody have a good one. Yeah. Yeah. Yawning kind of a game. The. The score did not do the game justice. No, it was not that. No. Anyway, congrats to the Seahawks fans. I didn't really take much of the sides either way, but it came out. I guess I was leaving that one anyway. 73 all ko 60h
Speaker B: yep. When the broadcasters over and over and over keep saying, wow, what a great defensive game. And then the leading score of the game is the kicker sums it up right there. Have a great day, Greg. Drive safely. KO6 Thai6US and good morning, Brett. KB6LUV
Speaker D: well, good morning Brian and coffee Breaknet Land. I'm going to say welcome back to the land of the living for myself. Oh my goodness. So after last Monday's check in with my mom, I came down with the flu and was out for the last five days straight.
Speaker C: No fun. No fun.
Speaker D: But all is good. I'm back on the green side of the grass looking at the orange ball in the sky. I did not have a dog in the fight. Oh, and by the way, whoever sent it wasn't my mom or my wife who brought whatever this flu was, but whoever sent it to me. I hope that your feet are bare and you have Legos everywhere in your household. Hi. Hi.
Speaker B: My, my, how do you really feel? No, I thought you had just headed out of town with with your mom. I, I know there was a family wedding that was happening so I didn't really think much of it but sorry to hear you've been down with the flu. And yes, for torture in hell, I'm sure the devil has a Lego and bare feet only rule.
Speaker D: Quite so.
Speaker B: Yes.
Speaker D: No, my mother did travel down to Morgan Hill, San Jose area for the wedding which was, I fear, lovely. I did not attend but it was all good and she'll be back up tomorrow and we'll be starting to check in back in with the coffee break that's in on Wednesday. So keeping this quick and short, going to be a beautiful day here in South Potomas. I have nothing planned except work. Yeah, other than that I'm sure the folks Seahawks fans are happy Patriots fans.
Speaker B: Sorry.
Speaker D: I did enjoy the halftime show so
Speaker B: that was good stuff.
Speaker D: Anyway, everybody else out there, have an amazing day. Take care of yourselves. Take care of each other. Be blessed. KV6L U V of Love 73 clear and listening.
Speaker B: Yeah. Seems like more controversy or more interest in which halftime show are you gonna watch? I watched one live and watched one in replay, and I made the right choice. We'll just leave it at that. Good morning, Rick. KD6CDQ. What do you have for the Net this morning?
Speaker C: Good morning, Brian and the Net. This is Katy six cdq Rick in beautiful downtown suburban North Highlands. Nice to see there's no rain out there, but. However, I do believe we got a system coming in and it's going to
Speaker B: haunt us for a few days, but,
Speaker C: oh, well, got to live with it. Not too much going on with me today. Not much to say about the football game, because frankly, I don't give a damn. Football has never been one of my favorites. I kind of like the smell of burning rubber and cars going in a circle, making left turns all the time. That kind of suits me fine. But football. My late wife, God bless her soul, she said the one thing she loved about me was she was never a football widow. She had it good.
Speaker B: You know, I really had no, no, no horse in the race either yesterday. And I. I am far from a football fan, but once a year I will sit down and just kind of spend four or so hours watching the Super Bowl. And yesterday, it just. I'm glad I only do that once a year. That's how I walked away from it. Well, yes, indeed. I put NASCAR right up there with it. I'm not a fan of watching others have fun. I. I tend to try to find it myself. Rick, have a wonderful day. And yes, I was always wondering why your car steering wheel turned to the left easily than the right.
Speaker C: Yeah, what can I say? Well, anyways, my dream comes true. Come on next Sunday, because it's the annual start of the NASCAR season, better known as the Daytona 500. And believe me, I will be planted in front of my TV and enjoying it. I just wish we had some of the old favorites. You know, Dale Earnhardt, both senior and junior. Jimmy Johnson, good old Jeffrey Gordon, the California favorite. Okay, enough of my shooting my mouth off. Y' all have a great day today. If you got something to do, enjoy doing it.
Speaker B: This is Katie.
Speaker C: Six CDQ73s and have a good one.
Speaker B: You bring up the Daytona 500. It was my first year in film and video production. I was living in South Florida, and a bunch of us got crewed up for the Daytona 500, and we carpooled up together, worked the Daytona 500. That was my first. My first automotive race or event that I ever worked, but certainly not my last. So, yeah, kind of a spot in my heart for the Daytona 500. Good memories with good friends, working a fun event and the experience of working NASCAR film and video crew was quite interesting. KD6CDQ AI6US and clearing with Rick. Let's check in with Robert Ko6KMR. Good morning, Robert. Well, good morning.
Speaker F: I'm. Karen and I are going to be heading off to the gym here shortly. Once we come back, I'll do my usual, go through the extra class information. And just a little side note, I'll probably be seeing you guys at the Saturday meeting up in Auburn over.
Speaker B: What Saturday? Meaning is that I know we have a club meeting coming up this Friday at our new facility, but. Yeah, if you're planning something for Saturday, I don't know about it.
Speaker C: Oh, you're right.
Speaker F: I need to get my calendar back out. I do see that it is Friday, so I'll be seeing you on Friday.
Speaker C: Over.
Speaker B: Well, very good. Look forward to that, Robert. And yes, indeed. I gotta say, your wife, she must be a very patient soul. Poor, you know, I hate to say it, but to live in this day and age with the name of Karen, that's rough.
Speaker D: Yeah, that's true.
Speaker F: It's true. My brother told me a story. Story that he was talking about myself and Karen to a person down in San Antonio where he lives. And he said, robert and Karen. But she's not a usual Karen. She's.

Speaker A: Nice Karen over
Speaker B: in a world of Karens. Don't be a Karen. I like it.
Speaker C: Very good.
Speaker B: She's not that kind of Karen. Well, very good. Looking forward to seeing you at the club meeting. Of course this Friday will be our open house for our brand new facility that we're meeting at Placer County Health and Human Services center, their conference center there at the DeWitt center in Auburn. So easy access. Just head on up into Auburn. You think you pass through it? Well, you kind of do. Go up to Bell Road and take a left and that will get you right there to the facility. Hey, we look forward to seeing you there, Robert. And you have a great week ahead. K06KMR, AI6US73 turning it back over to the net.
Speaker A: Kilo Oscar 6, Kilo Mike Romeo out.
Speaker C: Over.
Speaker B: All right Robert, I think we doubled up a little bit. Be careful, leave a little more gap between your transmissions. I notice you quick key on the end and it doesn't allow the repeater to reset and I think it will timeout other people's notes and repeaters. So just kind of always leave a little pause after each transmission to let the repeater drop. But I don't know if I doubled with you there or not. I appreciate that information. I'm still learning so I do appreciate
Speaker A: the critique and I'll take that to heart.
Speaker B: Over. Yeah, especially important when we have a linked up system here where we, you know like right now we have right around 70 nodes plus connected in and if they don't get a break in the carrier every three minutes they go to sleep. Hey, have a wonderful day Robert and we'll see you this Friday. Looking forward to seeing you face to face at the upcoming open house club meeting. And it will be a great presentation on Mesh system by N5JEF. So if folks can't be there in person, join us on Zoom this Friday. Ko6kmr. Good morning Ray. KK 6am
Speaker D: Good morning. Not a whole lot this morning. Just kind of hear and listening in the background.
Speaker B: You know the coffee break net is really good for that. Just having it on in the background and catching up and seeing what everybody is up to. Will anything on your schedule that must be done this week?
Speaker D: Absolutely nothing that I know of yet.
Speaker B: Well, you know I know you and I always engage over chocolate day and I'm going to give you an assignment if you'll accept it. Find out how many chocolate days there are on the national calendar. I'm thinking I just did a quick review of my chocolate days in the coffee Breaknet log and I have at least four annually, so not saying that's a bad thing.
Speaker D: Well, the person you should be asking for that information is Tom ssn.
Speaker B: That's true. The. The Wikipedia of info. We'll have to ask him sometime. Very good, Ray. Well, good morning to you and Happy Monday. Anything for the net.
Speaker D: That's about it. And it's not that Tom's the Wikipedia. He's a net for chocolate. He put any chocolate to, you know, out in your house, it'll disappear.
Speaker B: Ah, okay. I did not know that. So I will hide the chocolate if that ever happens. KK 6:00am AI 6:00 U.S. happy Monday, Ray.
Speaker D: 7:3 KK 6:00 a. 00am
Speaker B: so remember, there are certain people that might come around that it's best to hide the chocolate. Good morning, Mary. W3LS.
Speaker C: Good morning, Brian and the net. This is W3LS from Eugene, where it's in the 40s, I'm not sure where in the 40s. And we had a beautiful day of lovely light rain yesterday. Unfortunately, that's all we're getting. It's gone and maybe we'll get some back by Friday night. We need a whole boatload and we need that snow in the mountains. But my thing, it is not getting it done. Anyway, Pizza day. The answer to your questions, both of them, is no, definitely not. No pineapple, no anchovies, and no fruit of any other kind. There was a place up here in Eugene that I don't know if it still exists or not, but they sold these weird. Well, to my way of thinking, pizzas. There wasn't a traditional ingredient in the house, which we didn't know about until we went there and sat down like, oh my God, what are we going to get? Anyway, about the game. Yeah, it was a boring. The good thing was the USC quarterback was the winner, although was really the kicker in the defense. But having been a USC fan for a long time, I have to be happy for Sam Darnold. Back to you, W3LS
Speaker B: yeah, yesterday. You know, and the thing was I, you know, sometimes I've watched the games just because there was a commercial or something I wanted to catch. There was. There was one that was especially done kind of a retro big hair band where the one guy kept getting played up by the other. That one I found humorous. But don't even ask me what they were trying to sell. So I guess it wasn't very effective.
Speaker C: Yeah, well, the halftime show and the commercials and none of that is of particular interest to me, but I know a lot of People watch it just for that
Speaker B: shoot.
Speaker C: Something else I was going to say but I forgot and these are in and outs so I will say 7:3 to everybody. Oh, I know. Just on a fluke the other night, I don't have the greatest setup for 40 meters and the band was pretty dead and I worked a station inch side band which is no big deal for those of you with big antennas and amplifiers. It was a big deal for me and my NFET anyway.
Speaker B: 73 WSRAILS 40 meters is certainly a very interesting band. I work 40, 80 and 160 quite often in the early morning hours and just out of the blue a station will pop up and not even on the gray line, not on the cross the court equatorial or anything. It just pops up and you go wow. I didn't even know the band was open to that area. Mary have a wonderful day. No anchovies, no pineapple. Got it. We'll note the order. And yes, we need rain, we need snowpack ourselves. I'm a little nervous right now just because we have had quite a bit of early rain in the season and so the grasses and, and everything is just popping early this year and if we don't have any anything to fight wildfires later on in the year it, it might be a tough one. W3LX2S Good morning. Have a great day. Good morning carl. N6ckv.
Speaker E: Good morning Brian and everyone else out there.
Speaker F: Well, not much to say about the Super Bowl. Seahawks ski fence actually scored one of the few touchdowns which was kind of amazing. Other than that, I've got to do a Sam's Club run today and get ready. The smud is going to come out and swap the meters, the electrical meters, so we have to get ready for them. Other than that, not much going on. Back to you, Brian.
Speaker B: So are they swapping out to a. Well, I'm sure you had a digital meter installed or are you still working on the original construction meter? I'm sure that was swapped out long ago.
Speaker F: Oh no, we've got the digital meters installed. I don't know what they're doing. They're upgrading them so we have to deal with a slight power loss sometime this week. They didn't even specify when they were going to come so I have to be ready for them all week.
Speaker B: Now when they do a meter swap out, will your backup generator kick in or do they unenergize the entire system.
Speaker E: Or our generator is going to kick in.
Speaker A: If I catch them early enough I
Speaker F: might turn it on before they get Here and then I don't even have the 10 second loss of power.
Speaker B: Very nice having that and the assurance that you get with those Jenny's. Well, Carl, you have a wonderful day. And did you slip a little extra treat in your Sam's Club order today?
Speaker F: No, Ruth does the order. So I just go and pick it up. I don't even know what I'm getting until I get there.
Speaker B: In fact, you might not even know what you got there till you get home. You probably pop the hatch and they load it in for you. Carl, you have a wonderful day. And good morning to Ruth. And yes, not much of a nail biter yesterday. I guess if you're a fan of football defense, it was quite the day. Yeah, that's for sure.
Speaker F: Everyone have a good Monday? The vikv. I'm going to say 73 and hyda land.
Speaker B: I will pass it on. She's probably one of the few people who went to work the day after super bowl. Have a great day clearing with n6 ckv and good morning, chris. N6 ppp.
Speaker C: Your radio is on the right frequency.
Speaker B: This is the home of Sac Valley. All right, we might have timed Chris out November 6th. Papa. Papa. Papa, are you still there? All right, let's. Let's all shout good morning, doug. And wake him up. W2vx. Good morning, doug.
Speaker F: Just a second.
Speaker A: I can roll over here.
Speaker E: You calling me
Speaker B: good morning? Yes, I chased Sandman out of your room and good morning to you. Well, what do you have for us this morning, Doug?
Speaker E: Hey, Brian. You know, Teresa and I are old super bowl fans, but you know, we really never knew who was playing. We would go to the party, we would have a good time and the girls would go with us, Amanda and Shane. And they helped us run the commercial break category drawing. So people would stick their hand in a lot of ticket that would say what category the next commercial round was going to start with and if it was the first or the second. If they got the second category on the commercials, then they got the pot
Speaker D: or they had to split the pot.
Speaker E: I can't remember exactly, but that was the most exciting part of super bowl for me and Teresa and the girls. Yeah, the commercials, the commercial breaks and you know, and the drawing associated with it. Oh, and the food.
Speaker F: Yes, the food.
Speaker E: Theresa says.
Speaker B: Yeah, it is, it is all about the. All the above. Sounds like a fun game. I like it interactive with a. Somebody goes home with a pot au gold. Well, good morning, Teresa and good to hear you on as well this morning. Well, yesterday I would Say we were kind of void of game and of commercials. No real commercial stands out. There were a couple fun ones.
Speaker E: But, You know, it's really strange. I thought back when we were doing, we could go on the Internet, of course, and look up, you know, what commercial or commercial categories are there going to be and who's, you know, what advertisers are going to be selling what. And from that, we could actually plan a game drawing so that at every commercial break, and there were a lot of them, that somebody would win money. There was always lots of cheering and having. And nobody, for the most part, even knew what the score was except for the Die Hards.
Speaker B: And the Die Hards at least had the pleasure of having the rest of their family have fun with them. Well, very good. Interesting game that you played there. I, you know, I think of many super bowl parties that I've been to in my life, and there have been a couple of great standouts. And one of them was when I was living down in South Florida. We were all in the pool and they supposedly set up a big screen so we could watch it from being out on the deck in the pool. The big screen died and the party went on. You know, every once in a while, somebody would walk in and say so and so scored.
Speaker F: Everybody would cheer.
Speaker B: But that was one of the most fun super bowl parties I ever had. Had the fun, food had the friends, and an occasional score was announced.
Speaker E: That's exactly it. It's not about the game for us, and probably for a lot of people, they just want to go to the party, have fun with their friends, and that's a pretty darn good excuse. And everybody brings food or libations and, you know, maybe every once in a while somebody runs around naked when they're. When their team scores, so to speak.
Speaker C: Ha ha.
Speaker E: Anyway, supposed to be a quick in and out, so I was quick and I'm in and out. 7 3.
Speaker D: Brian.
Speaker E: Have a great day, everybody. Well, we know how it goes.
Speaker B: If you mentioned something could have happened, it probably did. And you were involved. AW2VXAI6US have a great day. Good morning, Steve. N5TIN.
Speaker A: Ai6US N5TIN Good morning, Brian. My only comment on the game yesterday was in the first three quarters wondering,
Speaker B: how did those guys get in the Super Bowl? Yeah, I mean, it's always great to see wonderful defense, but, you know, follow it up with some scoring. I just glad I didn't, you know, spend 5,000 plus dollars to be there.
Speaker A: Well, the super bowl is one of the few games that I may be convinced to watch. I spent a number of years working on sports television productions.
Speaker B: And when you're immersed in it for
Speaker A: a period of time, the shiny wears off.
Speaker B: Yeah. I worked for the Portland Trailblazers for nine seasons. Worked many sports productions through the years on. You'll recognize the name of this truck and I'm sure you've worked them as well. Not my truck.
Speaker A: I think I know who you're talking about.
Speaker B: Yeah,
Speaker A: I was on several trucks over the years, depending on, you know who, what was going on. Mostly a couple of trucks owned by a guy named John Crow. But that's the old days. That's gone. So none of that for me anymore. I am happily retired and out of that game. But anyway, it's a beautiful day. We had another clear blue sky day and it was 50 degrees this morning. And the weatherman says we're going to hit 85 today. So I must be in Texas.
Speaker B: Yeah. National Mobile Television, nmt. But of course, anybody who worked on their truck, it was always. It has a problem.
Speaker C: Yeah.
Speaker B: Not my truck.
Speaker A: Well, very good.
Speaker B: Interesting that we come from a similar background there, Steve. But yeah, you enjoy that wonderful weather. And yeah, it is something. Once you peek behind the curtain and see how levers and smoke machines and everything else works and then you have to roll up the cables and wipe off all the stinky beer and the sticky sodas. Yeah, the gleam is gonna.
Speaker A: Yeah. And that was if you had a good day. I had a really bad one up at Boulder at the University of Colorado game one time. I flew in and landed
Speaker B: in the
Speaker A: middle of an ice storm and had to drive from the Denver airport to Boulder in the dark with black ice on the road. And to say that I was not prepared in terms of my clothing would be an understatement.
Speaker B: You know, and if you knew you didn't get there and meet your call, you would never be hired again or they would think twice and you would be moved down a tier. I spent many nights, you know, now drivers to get to get between venues and events. Oh, man.
Speaker D: Thank you.

Speaker A: Thanks for bringing back the memories. Well, Steve, you have a wonderful day ahead. Thanks for checking in. Happy Monday to you.
Speaker B: Well, thanks, Brian.
Speaker A: We've got a little more time. We'll swap a few more war stories with that.
Speaker C: I'll say.
Speaker A: 73 I hope you have a great day. AI6US N5TIN 73 everybody. My first gig was working the Miami Grand Prix and you had two hours to get the streets open again and I was learning how to roll, how to over under miles and miles of triax. A young man's sport that was sure many years ago, Steve. Have a wonderful day. N5T I N AI6 US coffee break good morning. It is Monday morning. It is February 9, 2026 and let's go ahead and take some more check ins and let's just head on over and we'll do regular check ins. If you are short on time, let me know that you want to be in and out. I will put you at the top of the list. So who's out there this morning? Coffee Breaknet on the W6E.
Speaker D: This is KE9AWY QV Mark Morning.
Speaker E: This is KE9AWY. In and out. Short time please.
Speaker F: Whiskey 6 Juliet, Charlie Zulu, mobile, in and out W6JCZ
Speaker B: and good morning Ryan.
Speaker E: WB6BJN.
Speaker C: Kilo 11-6-yankee cherty golf.
Speaker B: Ke0yjj.
Speaker A: All right, there are two people that have checked in more than once, but I'm only going to put you on the list one time, please. Only ch in once. Kn6y c g good morning patrick and good morning chuck, k0kilo oscar 0kilo lima november. Good morning mark, wb6bjn and good morning ke0yjj. Good morning ke0yjj. Good morning for in and out w6jcz. Good morning jim and good morning to mark, kc8fqv and good morning to rachel. Ke9awy. Good morning rachel, ke9awy and let's see. So I only am showing two in and outs, rachel and w6jczgym. Was anybody else on this list for a in and out?
Speaker C: Hey Brian, this is Patrick. I have a call in 15 minutes so if I get called up during that call, I'll try to check back in after the call. I'm not trying to cheat, just monitoring KN6YCG.
Speaker A: All right, I'll put you down for in and out. Means you're at the end of the list here. All right, let's check in with our in and outs and ke9awy. Good morning Rachel. When you check in just commit to it. Good morning.
Speaker E: Good morning. This is KE9AWI. Sorry I got distracted by the other mark of QV. I was going to say in and out means I don't have much time. Well, this is my last check in from Finley Park, Illinois. I am packing, well, not packing, delivering all my bags, the garage and I'll be picked up at 11 or 9am Pacific Time. And so I'll be heading to my final destination, Wisconsin. And yeah, that's today. And pizza day to pineapples and yay to anchovies. I'll take both of those. The more the better. I love the. I don't know, I love either really thin crust. I love the Italian style oven pizzas. I also really like deep dish but I like New York as well. But yeah, I like some pizza. I can't have it every day but chocolates is good. I haven't decided if I can have chocolate. It really upsets me and wires me sometimes. It doesn't. But yeah, sounds like nice days to clean out your computer day. Yeah. All the files you saved. This would be useful. Wait, no it isn't. Three years later. Wait, why did I even bother to save this again? And what about those emails? Oh my goodness, in all those days I've forgotten half of them. But I guess that's what I have to comment on. Yeah.
Speaker A: Well yes indeed, there can be some interesting things put on pizzas, including wasabi. And I've seen some pretty interesting things. My daughter went over to Japan for Christmas a few years back ago and she was so looking forward. The family was going to be off, was going to be ordering up a American style pizza and she said dad, they ruined it. Very good. Well good luck on your final move to Wisconsin. I do have one question about the location you're moving to in Wisconsin. Have you been to this town before? Is this going to be a new location for you?
Speaker E: Yes. So the new location, very exciting, big city. I'm excited for the change of pace. Much slower. So that would be really, really cool. And yeah, different people have different ways to do pizza. One of my Italian friends, well not friends, acquaintances I knew from my site were talking on the phone once years ago and he was like what is this? Isn't pizza. He went to England. This is tall bread. Oh my goodness, that was so funny. But yeah, never been there. So it will be fun and a new adventure and I'm ready for it and a slowing down of pace will be nice.
Speaker A: Well, very good. Well good luck as you go and make new friends and get involved with that new community for you and hope that move goes well for you. Thanks for checking in this morning Rachel and yeah, we'll catch you another morning and do commute. Drive safely. KE9AWY AI6US and good morning Jim. W6JCZ for in and out.
Speaker F: Good morning Brian. Good morning. Copy Breaknet W6JCZ here. One heck of a game yesterday night, wasn't it the defense. So there were a couple of outstanding moments. That interception turned touchdown had my mom and dad all go, ahh, would that happen? Other than that, just a pretty laid back Saturday, got all the bags packed up. Heading over to Taipei Friday after work to see Zoe for late Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year a week over there in Taiwan and then come back next Sunday. So that's what's coming up. And I just want to say good morning to everyone. Great weather today and I heard rain is on the forecast. According to the news yesterday night it said possibly rain and I looked there probably 95, 98% tomorrow and Wednesday. So here's that wet weather. Looking forward to it. W6JC back to you, Brian.
Speaker A: All right, Jim, we'll travel safely and have a wonderful time over there in Tepe. And yeah, we'll look forward to stories of the return. Yeah, I must say, kind of playing back that interception in the run, you know, there was a highlight of the game and otherwise probably, you know, the action behind the field goal. Well, you have a wonderful day. Thanks for checking in this morning, Jim. Happy Monday.
Speaker F: Happy Monday to everyone and all for the coffee break here. W6JCZ back to net.
Speaker A: All right, seven three, eight Jim. And let's see, let's catch Patrick before his phone call. KN6YCG.
Speaker C: Yeah, good morning. Thanks for catching me before I had to get to actual work for an hour. Fishing update for today is I'm going to try to head back out this afternoon. Still about 70 degrees and sunny today. Just trying to get my morning work done here. I am not a football person so I pretty much avoided the game yesterday. I did go out late in the evening with some friends and we just hung out and had a couple beers and let's see, I loved round table but I think as I've gotten older I like the little boutique pizza places with the thinner crust and the fancier toppings.
Speaker A: You know, I gotta say there's nothing wrong with just grabbing a quick, you know, pizza from a local joint that there's one on every corner, you know. But yeah, those are best I think for the Cheese and you know, single topping. I think they do well. But yes indeed, I certainly have my favorites for when it comes to piling on the accessories. Well, good morning to you there, Patrick. And anything else for the NEP this morning?
Speaker B: No, Brian, I think I'm good.
Speaker C: I'll just be monitoring once I get off the call here. Just trying to wrap things up. I'm on a flight tomorrow back to Colorado for a couple of weeks. So good to hear from you. It's been great checking in for three days in a row. Three or four days in a row I think. And just thanks to everybody else out there. Have a great Monday. KN6YCE73
Speaker A: all right, Patrick. Yes, your body definitely has some acclimation to do going between Florida and Colorado this week. Maybe a couple weeks ago we would have been very similar temperatures. You have a wonderful day, Patrick. All right, that takes care of our in and outs and let's go ahead now and check in with regular ragchew. Good morning, mark. Good morning KC8FQV.
Speaker D: All right, no problem waiting. Leave everything reset. Yeah, I call it stacking when you quick key, you know, stack the repeaters and some of the short tail, a short change. Deal. Yeah, I didn't really watch them super bowl last night but I know the Seattle one and that we were looking for because Baron Barner, he was from Aurora, graduated, lived in Aurora, graduated from Aurora although I don't know how long he lived in Aurora. So many people move in and move out and sort of like college. I think sometime you know you go to the cheaper universities and when you get ready to get your paper you go to the expensive one to get your paper, your certificate but not much else are happening. Just wanted to stop in and say hello. So yeah, I think Fireside connects. Yeah there's. We have the same thing when we have the Beacon that on Sunday and Wednesday night they connect and you all get chuckles from all these networks that are all connected so much, so many things connected and they start chuckling, you know, the Kiev's or whatever but nothing else are happening. So just wanted to stop by and say hello and tonight is that node or no net deal. So I'll stop there and listen to that. Although I can't. I don't know, I think it's 9 o' clock our time, I think 6 o' clock your time because tomorrow I have the doctor's appointment or the diabetes and cryologist but we'll send it back to net case fqv.
Speaker A: All right. Yeah, it's always neat when you, when you recognize a player that's on that team that maybe you followed in college or even, even in high school. I remember a couple years ago following somebody that I had watched several games years ago with the, with the Folsom Bulldogs and you know, he was a junior high at the time and then watched him in high school and finally made it to the big leagues and it was just kind of neat to see him on the big fields. Well, Mark, you have a great day. I hope that everything goes well at your checkup there and I really appreciate you dropping by this morning and KC8SQV AI6US. Have a great Monday. 7 3.
Speaker D: All right. Yeah, it will be tomorrow at this time. 11 I'm in the office and yes, I used to work in TV production so I remember rolling cables up the 15 pin cables, the heavy, the heavy fat ones and then we did get the complex at the end so 73s.
Speaker A: And I bet you all your extension cords and everything around the house are over under. It's funny, I go to different events, field day or whatever and, and you know if they use my coax I go no, let me show you how to over under. And they go oh you're so particular. And it's like. Well do you remember what it was like? Like when you uncoil this cable, it just spun right out and you didn't have a kink or anything. And people, it's. It's funny, they want to wrap your coax around their, their hand and their. And their elbow. Heck no. Have a wonderful day there Mark. KC8FQV and AI6US. Good morning Rec Ke0YJJ
Speaker B: well good morning Brian and the coffee breaknet. Gotta extend my apologies. Sorry for all that. I'm trying to provide a service to the local folks with the repeater and boy, I tell you, they ker chunk and they. So I shut the repeater off. So I'm talking to the FTM 400 using reverse mode to get to my hotspot for my node. So yeah, it's been amazing but thanks for putting up with me and sorry I was interfering back to you.
Speaker A: No, just wanted to bring it to your attention because it was tailing each transmission so every time anybody else would let up. I don't anybody on your side kerchunking or anything but it would just tail transmit on randomized transmissions. And I noticed that over the weekend as well. But yeah, no problem Rick. I would say turn the system back on but I think one of the hang times is still catching you there? Well, good morning to you. And did you have a good weekend?
Speaker B: Oh, yes, sir. Yes, sir. I think I keyed up too quick, but, yeah, had a great weekend. Finished rebuilding my Windows computer, something I haven't done in years. And boy, let me tell you, trying to reinstall software when you're searching through emails and drawers and other sundry storage places to find all the passwords and security keys to get it reinstalled. It was a pain, but I finally finished it. So, moving on to other things.
Speaker A: Yeah, I made the mistake of not having a current backup, and I took a computer out of my shack for a event, California Cuso party this last fall. And when I returned home, the device would not reboot. You know, the computer, mini computer.
Speaker B: So I.
Speaker A: I feel your pain. I feel your pain, Rick. I was going through drawers, going through emails, trying to find all those elusive passwords that you're. You're sure you always have put them in a safe place when you did it?
Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that's an absolute fact. But it's all up and running. And then I was kind of crazy. I rejoined something I know I shouldn't have done, but I did it anyways. I rejoined the Windows Insider. So they installed this new stuff and I get to check it out, but it is problematic. So I should have known better. But just hanging out, playing with meshtastic and Mesh Core. And now there's a new one that I'm having even more fun with.
Speaker A: It's called Ridiculum. Okay, that's not familiar to me. Tell me more.

Speaker A: Well, reticulum is a network stack,
Speaker B: so
Speaker A: the routers could go down and all that. And theoretically, you could still talk over reticulum. I'm not good at explaining things, but it's a really cool thing. And yeah, you can shut off your router and talk back and forth to the phones and all that, but they got a mess, cat. They got a node or. Yeah, node, where you do all this stuff on reticulum. So, anyways, I'm. I'm bad at explaining back to you.
Speaker C: Well, I make a list of things that I look up after the coffee breaknet and I will add ridiculum to that so I can be a little more versed on it. I always like hearing about new things and things that people have found and something that might be of interest. You never know until you read up on it. Well, thank you, Rick. Yeah, and by all means, turn that repeater back on. You know, it's always nice to have activity, a radio community, and I do not think that it was anybody being mischievous or anything on your side there. So give it a try again. Happy Monday. Ke0y j j ai6us I'll look up ridiculum.
Speaker B: Roger.
Speaker A: Roger. Thank you, Brian. And thank you, Net Gazer. OIJJ Back to you.
Speaker C: All right, Rick, you have a wonderful day ahead. And I'm gonna check in one more person before we go over to Mark Chuck. First time on the net. Welcome. K04KLN welcome. My name is Brian, and welcome to the coffee.
Speaker D: Well, number one, thanks for being here. Right now, I'm in a parking lot in Montgomery, Alabama, while my wife is inside. A doctor appointment. Nothing serious. I've been kind of listening. I heard people talking about pizza. I love a good Italian pizza. Italian is in my jeans. I've had good pizzas in Italy. Thin pizza is the best to me. I don't like a lot of stuff on it, but a good thin pizza, I don't like the New York big pizzas or any of those. Talking about the Super Bowl. I haven't watched the super bowl since Joe Montana, back with the Niners. When I was a kid. I grew up three blocks from when the 49ers used to practice, and that was back in the 50s. I just don't have time for all the, you know, all the drama and stuff that goes on with the sports nowadays. I don't consider sports anymore. It's like they tune some rules every time you turn around. And I don't know, I just haven't been into it.
Speaker B: And
Speaker D: that's Basically where I'm at. So I'm glad everybody had a good time with their super bowl parties and I hope your team won. If it didn't. Well, there's always next time. You know, for every winner, there's got to be a loser. So get out and just focus on what you're doing and do your best. K04KLS back to net.
Speaker C: Well, welcome from Montgomery, Mississippi there and definitely thanks for checking in. The yeah, not quite like an authentic piece pizza I spent several times over in Italy and many wonderful late evenings spent with pizza. Like you said, just a basic pizza, just fresh thin crust, delicious, putting the olive oil over the top. It is absolutely a delicious, much different experience than the New York or you know, the pineapple and Canadian bacon. You are so right on that. Well, yes indeed. What a place to grow up. And probably you got to watch some practices as well because I know that they used to have those facilities open for practice for the neighbors to come in. So hopefully you had a chance to take part in that experience as well. Well, great to meet you, Chuck. Drop on by anytime. We're here every day of the week, 7:30am to 10:00am Pacific Time and we are a conversation based net and we just kind of talk about wherever the where, whatever direction the conversation may go that day. But thanks for dropping in and I hope everything is well with your wife.
Speaker D: Well, thanks for doing the net and yeah, I'll drop back in. There's no problem with that. Another thing about the training camp for the 49ers, when I was probably, oh, seven or eight years old, a friend of my mom's, the family knew a bunch of the 49ers and the Rams and they had a big barbecue and we went up there and I can remember as a kid playing football with Y.A. tittle and Joe McElhenney and playing football out in the front yard with him and it's just one of those things that you experience that you never forget and good old days. Good old days.
Speaker C: And
Speaker D: well again thanks for doing the net and I will drop back in, have a day 73 soul listening and thanks again.
Speaker C: Okay, that is a great story. Talk about a wonderful barbecue that will be remembered forever.
Speaker D: How cool.
Speaker C: Hey Chuck, you have a wonderful day. Thanks for dropping in and great to meet you. K04K LN AI6US this is the Coffee Breaknet and let's now check in with Mark B6BJN. I'm looking out the window and I see broken sky blue over there, thick clouds over there and I Know what's coming. Good morning. WB6BJN, AI6US.
Speaker D: Coffee break.
Speaker B: Hey, good morning, Brian. Good morning, everyone. Excuse me. I did watch the game to the game yesterday. I did not do it on television. I did it on XM satellite radio and I missed all the stupid commercials. I liked it on tv, you know, when they had Clydesdale's and you know, the horses and you know, the Budweiser commercials.
Speaker A: Those were good.
Speaker B: I enjoyed those. And I didn't watch the half, didn't have to deal with the halftime thing. I understand that. I heard a little bit of the what? The bunny, whatever it was. The bunny, the big bunny or whatever. And I couldn't understand it. They were doing something, singing in Spanish or something. So I understand Kid Rock maybe a little better only because they're a little more conservative and they trend toward America and Christians. So I probably would have gone with that. That's my own thing. But I didn't hear them either. So I really can't make a. I really can't make an opinion. But I heard from what some people were saying. Let me, let me take a break. I did watch the game and you know what? Seattle was supposed to win and they did. It was boring. I wished it had been a little more of a seat grabber. That's the kind I like. But it was what it was.
Speaker C: And
Speaker B: my interest really, when it was boring, I was eating chips and salsa and chicken wings that Sarah marinated. And that was the really important part of the game. Although I like football. I like football no matter who's playing. I heard people talking in the last few years about, you know, oh, I'm going to boycott the NFL. Not watching anything with the NFL because I don't like what they did. When I'm like, you know what, the NFL doesn't care whether you do that. People are going to watch anyway,
Speaker D: so.
Speaker B: But I also like nascar and I like races, too. I've been to a race and smell the tires burning. And that's, that's good stuff, too. So it all has some good stuff. Back to you, sir. And then we'll talk about the weather. WB6BJS.
Speaker C: Yeah. What I find quite interesting is everybody who took aside on the halftime show seemed to already have their mind made up beforehand. And it was actually I watched one of them live and the other one in replay and I made the right choice when I chose the one to watch live. But anyway, the game, yes, highly rated when it comes to defense, but defensive football games certainly aren't very fun to watch. At all. But yeah, there were a couple bobbles and fumbles that turned into the highlights of the game.
Speaker B: Yeah, I thought New England was going to start something, you know, maybe big to bring it a little closer in the second half, but they just, you know, they just really didn't. I don't know, they were just flat and Seattle was the strong team. And you know what, that's what happened when they played the Niners. I knew, I knew the Niners and the Niners are my team and I knew they were in trouble when they made that 90 yard run. I said, well, this game's over after the first play there, go ahead.
Speaker C: Yeah, no, it started out looking like, oh, this could be interesting, you know, the quick drive right off the top and yeah, looked like it had all the potential, you know, and then I just wonder how much of it. Like I said, I don't watch football that much. I'm a Super bowl viewer once a year. The rest of the time I could give a damn. But no, just watching, you know, a younger quarterback, obviously, you know, he started getting pressured, started doing some things that were probably a little early in the play. And you just saw it, you saw it developing, probably lot of nerves. But I could only imagine, you know, being his age and that opportunity, being on such a large stage, you know, you have to be nervous as hell and start making some tough mistakes. But hey, I am just sitting in the comfort of my home critiquing everything.
Speaker D: Good morning.
Speaker C: Let's talk weather more.
Speaker B: I had to wait for my node to tell me something. I already knew. My call sign. WB6BJN. Yeah, let's talk about the weather. One more thing. I'm that way on baseball. Baseball is too slow to me and there's not enough action. I don't get interested in baseball until the World Series. So that's kind of like the Super Bowl. Then I get interested in baseball. I have no interest in baseball. It's just going to sleep. There's some exciting plays, but I fall
Speaker C: asleep during baseball game.
Speaker B: It's just like, it's just too slow. Anyway, let's talk about the weather. And there's big changes, big pattern shifts in the weather, Brian. And you guys need the rain and the snow and it looks like you're going to get it. Not today. In fact, today there could be some northerly winds going down the valley and there already is. I checked the 10 o' clock reports in and there's north winds. And that's why there was a weak front that went through. It was Dry. The main big high pressure area that had been over the state broke down, allowed that system to come through. Now there's the system over Baja that could combine with another low pressure area that could bring some rain tomorrow. There is a winter storm winter weather advisory in effect from 10 o' clock tonight until 4pm on Wednesday for the Sierras, northern Sierras there could be quite a bit of snow. There could be 8 to 10 inches and maybe up to 12 inches in some places above 7,000ft, maybe over a foot. So this is a snow bringer to the high elevations of the Sierras and that's what you need right now. And it's also going to bring some rain to the valley. Moderate tomorrow and Wednesday, maybe some thunderstorms to the southern Sacramento Valley, northern San Joaquin Valley. So that high pressure that's over the area right now will break down. It's a very weak transitory ridge and low pressure is developing rapidly and it's going to become the main feature over the western United States. Let me take a break. And so then you get a break on. Let's see, after Wednesday you get a break. Thursday and Friday another little weak ridge and then even a stronger system for the weekend which is a colder system, a wetter system and looks like it could bring quite a bit of rain to the valley and a lot of snow in the Sierras. I would not be surprised if by Friday they issue winter storm warnings. So through the President's Day weekend, which is next weekend by the way, if you have plans to go to the Sierras you might want to think again, take a look at weather conditions to make sure whether you really want to do that. And even going into next week it looks good for progressive storms. For the west coast it's your turn. And they're cold storms because they're connected with the polar, the polar vortex or the polar jet. So you guys are going to get the cold weather and I'm going to talk about the warm weather that we're going to get in my next after you make some comments. Back to you, sir.
Speaker C: Very good. I saw one prediction of some areas of sea receiving up to 100 inches out of this upcoming storm. So yes indeed, let's hope that really does materialize.
Speaker B: Yeah, I don't think that's going to be a one storm that's going to be over the foreseeable future time. 100 inches out of one storm is just, I think that's going to be in many, many waves and this becomes a long term storm. Slow moving systems that could do that, you know, and with all of the solar conditions and there's a lot of meteorologists this year that are saying with what's going on on the sun, with all of these huge flares and huge things, auroras happening, that this is the reason that our climate is so crazy this year. And the severe cold that we've had back here. And now we're going to get severely warm. And let me see, I'm going to get my conditions real quick. Right now it is 30.144 on the barometer. And right now the temperature, get this, less than a week ago, it was in the teens this hour. Right now it's 55.9 degrees. I don't know when the last time I gave a temperature at this time of the day at 55.9, and I'll bet you before noon it's in the 60s. And we're supposed to be 62 today. I bet it goes over that. So major flip in the pattern. That high pressure area is moving, moving across, and it's going to cover all the way to the East Coast. Let me take a break. So today and tomorrow, 62 here today, 68 to 70 here tomorrow. And then we get the western flank of that high kind of flattens. So we get, we start getting these systems that are moving in from the west coast because we're under a zonal flow. And we're also getting an opening to the Gulf of Mexico. And then there's the natural cold that sits to the north. Now, natural cold means there's still going to be chilly to the north, but it's going to be more like what it would normally happen. So what happens is that cold comes a little further.

Speaker A: South.
Speaker B: And they think by Valentine's Day or thereabouts we could be looking at a severe weather outbreak. Now there's no forecast of that yet here in the mid south, but there is a signal in the models that indicates that so very warm, moist air comes up against colder, drier air and a boundary develops. And I didn't like the sound of that. I like good thunderstorms, but I don't like how it's shaping up with the severe outbreak and hopefully that does not develop. Much of the Midwest is going to warm up.
Speaker A: It's going to melt the snow.
Speaker B: That could cause some ice jams on rivers. There could be some flooding. So there's a good thing to the warming. But there's also some things we have to pay for when it gets warmer after a major cold snap. Back to you there, Brian. WB6VJN
Speaker A: Certainly the potential sounds like it's there and we definitely hope that this does kind of temper out a bit before it materializes for you folks. Well, good morning to you and good morning to Sarah. I really appreciate you dropping in and kind of giving us an update on what to expect. And you know, as one living on the West Coast, I glad to hear that we are going to have a shift and probably build up a little snowpack. Definitely will be very welcome for the months ahead. Well, anything else for us this morning, Mark?
Speaker B: No sir, that's about it. I had fun yesterday. I had some good food. Sarah did some excellent wings yesterday, roasted them in the oven. She marinated them over for about 24 hours, a little longer and in a nice pot, warm, kind of a hot spice. We like spicy food and that was good. And you know, speaking of food, I've never had real pizza which is made in Italy because I've never made, I've never been to Italy but I've heard people say there's nothing like it, you know, Mountain Mike's, Nah, nah. Pizzas that are done in the U.S. nah us. I do like Sarah's pizza. She does good because she can eat it, it's gluten free and she puts good stuff on it. But it still probably isn't like Italian pizza. And I need to like her pizza because she could knock me over the head if I told her I didn't like it. But she does good pizza. She's a good cook. I love what she does. Back to you. And we're going to have a good week here. And I have not heard any bad things from the doctor on my procedure last week. And so I'm praying that all looks good with that. And that's it. That's it. And I hope everybody has a blessed day and a blessed week ahead there. Brian, Back to you, WB6BJF.
Speaker A: All right, Mark. Well, thank you for checking in this morning. And good to hear that test results are looking good so far. Really great to hear. Good morning to you. Good morning to Sarah. And yes, a good public relations, good announcement there on husband health. As always, speak highly of your wife or your spouse's cooking. It is reported that men who do not critique their wives cooking live much longer than men who do critique. Seven three, Mark, have a great day. Cleared with KB6BJ, WB6BJN, AI6US. 73,
Speaker B: 73. Brian and I think you, you're, you're right. You're onto something. Take care, WB6BJN.
Speaker A: Long, wonderful lives.
Speaker C: Happy wife, happy life.
Speaker A: Good morning. Coffee Breaknet on the W6EK repeater. And I'm Brian AI6us. And this is where the sun is always shining. The birds are singing and the fish are jumping. What a great place to be. Today is read in the bathtub day. It is national Pizza Day. What toppings belong? What? Don't you know something that nobody's talked about yet? Today is cut the cord day. So did you cut the cord maybe from satellite or from cable television and maybe you took streaming service and then found out that you had to subscribe to another streaming service and maybe a third streaming service to get all the programs that you missed? Did you end up saving money or did they just switch your bill to another provider? Cut the cord day. Good or bad? National develop alternative vices day. So here's the suggestion that today you maybe replace your vices and excesses with those that are less harmful to your health and psyche. Trying to find something that will replace amateur radio for me. And today is clean out your computer day. Yeah, I just create another file folder and market archive and move on. Good morning, Coffee breaknet. Let's do a round of quick in and outs as you start your day. Good morning,
Speaker C: Ka60uai.
Speaker D: Kilo Charlie 6 here, Lena, Echo,
Speaker A: Kilo,
Speaker E: oscar six echo, bravo, quebec.
Speaker B: Kj5 gulf, whiskey november.
Speaker A: All right. Good morning, will, kj5gwn. Good morning, stephen, k06ebq. And good morning to graydon, ke c6sla. And good morning, ron. Ka6uai, did I miss anyone? All right. Good morning, Ron. Ka6uai, what do you have for the net this morning?
Speaker D: Ka6uai.
Speaker C: Well, I just wanted to talk about football Just for a moment here, you
Speaker A: know, kind of all started with Lori and I, before I knew her.
Speaker C: And her mom worked for the 49ers, so we've always been 49er fans and many stories about that. But to make it fairly brief, here she was at the game with the catch, the famous Dwight Clark, Montana to Clark catch right there in the end zone, right across. Happened up in the stand a little ways. And so that kind of cemented that. And the year they won their first super bowl, she got a Super bowl ring. Face the front part of the ring.
Speaker A: Her mom actually got it for working there.
Speaker C: And it's a pendant, full size, just a regular, like they slice the front of a ring off and she's got that around here somewhere in a safe. And all the way back from what, 1980, 81, I guess, season. But then, you know, we watched the 49ers and went to several games way back when it was at Candlestick and walking and driving in the mud hole out there where the end of the parking lot was and sat in the miserable rain a few times watching games, but mostly on TV after that and, you know, followed the football. And when we were screenmobile of Hawaii and over on the island of Kauai, three other islands, we invited all of our people to work for us and all of the people that were customers that we have had over a time and we had done a big job in the back or for the new sports bar. Let me let it drop for a second. We did a big job for a
Speaker A: sports bar and they could only afford
Speaker C: to pay us half of what we card, so they give us a substantial coupon for food there. And we rented the back half of this big sports bar and had, I don't know, 50, 60 people maybe for the last time, I think that the Raiders were in the super bowl and Cincinnati beat him. I don't know what it was, a
Speaker A: hundred and nothing or something.
Speaker C: It was pretty bad. But I was also a Raiders fan and. But it was a fun time and, you know, lots of poo poos and cocktails and beer and all that sort of thing with big screens all around us watching the Super Bowl. But we had several super bowl parties at our big house down in Kalaheo and at the condo up in Princeville when we lived there, probably three or four, five super bowl parties, kind of an annual thing. But anyway, that's my football story.
Speaker A: Yeah, I've always attended other people's super bowl parties, you know, had some small ones with a small group of friends but yeah, the big rochas out of control ones were the fun ones that you always will remember. All right, Ron, well, thank you for sharing that. Interesting about Lori's mom working for the 49ers back in the day and the connection into that team. But they didn't play this year, did they? K A6uaI, Ron. Have a wonderful day. Maybe they will make it to the super bowl again. Only knows where, what city they'll be in at that time.
Speaker D: Yeah, well, yeah, they are no longer
Speaker C: The San Francisco 49ers, the Santa Clara. They just need to change the name a little bit. But it's interesting. They played the game yesterday. It seemed like the football stadium was right under the Golden Gate Bridge. They would show that and then, then right to the stadium. But it's 45 miles in a straight line down there. And they didn't really show anything from Santa Clara, the big Intel Museum or things like that. That wasn't a landmark they show on tv. But also wanted to mention just one final thing. I kind of missed that halftime show. We had an alternative and sure, it was much better based on what I've heard, but it was better. Even the one on the super bowl official site was good. I didn't want to see all that. Anyway, ka60uai, everyone have a great week and I'm going to get back to work.
Speaker A: Seven three. Yeah, quite interesting. People's opinions are formed by what they thought about it going into it. I gotta say, I watched Supported Americas, Supported Marriage, spoke about God, family, friends, history and America. And, you know, it's hard to say
Speaker C: that it wasn't something that, you know.
Speaker A: Unfortunately, a lot of people never leave their double wide in Alabama and they get nervous that they're getting ripped off just because they don't understand. Yeah, I think the big picture that came out yesterday was, you know, it was. It was well done. You just have to approach things with an open mind. Good morning to you. You have a wonderful day. Clarion with Ka6uai, Ai6us. Let's head on up to Graydon. KC6sLE. Good morning, Graydon.
Speaker D: Good morning, Brian. Good morning, everyone on the net. Let's see what I do. I had this football game on. I seem to remember the score was 3 to 0 in favor of Seattle. And I went out and did some work in the yard, came in, it was then 6 to 0 in favor of Seattle. So I went out and painted some brackets at halftime. I went out and weeded, came back in. I think in the second half it was up to 9 to 0. And then I think I read the rest of the time. I've been reading a book, and I just read the book and tuned the game out.
Speaker A: It was. It was increments of 3. It's something when, you know, yesterday a record was made. You know, I think this was the first time. Let's see the kicker.
Speaker B: I think.
Speaker C: What was it?
Speaker A: 22 points in a game, first for Super Bowl. Doesn't really make for a big exciting
Speaker C: game,
Speaker A: that's for sure. But, you know, third quarter, you know, it looked like, you know, looked like New England was starting to get their stuff together. There was a big play. And then. Then, yeah, then, yeah.
Speaker D: And then the wheels came off even more. You know, don't take anything away from New England. It's a football game, and football games don't have to be evenly matched. Sometimes teams have a bad day, and I think we're taking a lot away from Seattle. Seattle was a darn good team. Look what they did to the west coast teams. And I'd rather look at it from a positive standpoint. I'd rather look at it from the standpoint that Seattle was just a great team and they defeated everybody they played to, for the most part, for the year.
Speaker A: Well, I mean, what were they going to say going into this game? It's going to be a blowout. Don't tune in. You have better things to do in life. You know, the lead up to it, all the hype and everything, was trying to make you believe that this was going to be an evenly matched team. But, you know, just kind of seeing what I had seen throughout the year in highlights. Maybe their score at the end of the season was similar, but the way they got there was not.
Speaker D: When we were up at Reno last week, I was looking at, you know, walking by the sports areas, looking at the odds on the game. No doubt about it, they had already figured out what the game was going to be and what the outcome was going to be. You know, the people that set the odds for the games are pretty darn sharp, and you're not going to fool them. Let's see, what else was I going to mention? I think that's pretty much it. I got a phone call coming in. Got to go down to Social Security department this morning. Looking forward to that. Just like I would.
Speaker A: Root canal. Some pretty lively music selection there. Hopefully we don't get a FCC notice for that one.
Speaker B: All right.
Speaker A: Well, yes, maybe. Maybe you're missing out on the fun of a root canal. So trip to Social Security did they mess something up or. I don't think I've ever gone to a Social Security office in person.
Speaker D: Lisa's got all the tax stuff put together ready to take it over and give it to our cpa. Except I never got a statement from Social Security. So I'm patient. I say, let's just wait till it comes in the mail. And she's like, no, I want to get this over now and get it over with. So I was told this morning when I got up that I'm going to start my week off by heading down to the Social Security department, taking a number, saying I'm going to take a good book, but I'm going to sit in there and wait for them to call me up and print out my statement. You know what? It's the easier thing to do in the long term.
Speaker A: All right. Well, better than waiting on hold on a phone call and then not receiving something. At least you walk out of there with something in your hand. Well, excellent, Graydon. Well, I thank you for sharing your super bowl experience. And hopefully there was some good food mixed up in there as well.
Speaker D: You know, I made. That's the other thing I did in halftime. I made a turkey casserole and came out really nice. So that was the last of the turkey meat from the turkey I cooked last week. Got some leftovers for tonight, but I was really pleased. I just went in. You know, I like to cook. So I went in the kitchen and looked at what we had ingredient wise and put together a turkey casserole. Came out really nice with that. I wish everybody 73s have a great day. If you don't see me or hear from me by the end of the week, it means I'm still sitting at Social Security.
Speaker A: All right, very good. We'll do a health and welfare check on you then. Well, turkey casserole, gobble, gobble.
Speaker C: Sounds good.
Speaker A: You have a great day. Good morning to Grady, good morning to Lisa, and good luck at the Social Security office. Clearing with KC6SOLE and good morning, Stephen KO6EBQ.
Speaker E: And a fine morning to you, Brian. The rest of the net. Yeah, National Pizza Day or whatever it is, the only place to go to is Old Town Pizza and get their Hawaiian pizza. That one I really enjoy.
Speaker A: Well, nice lead in there because you know where we are going for the VE Almer pre dinner for March 2nd. Yes, indeed. Old Town Pizza in Auburn. So anybody out there want to celebrate National Pizza Day a little bit late? Join us on March 2, 5pm at Old Town Pizza in Auburn. We have a great social time there before the VE session.
Speaker B: Yeah, I'll look forward to that.
Speaker E: I know a lot of folks were interested in the super bowl, but I wasn't. So if that's your cup of tea, great. It's not mine.
Speaker B: Mesh corps. Yeah, I've got all the parts. Parts? I got it all together, and it's
Speaker E: just not working the way I want. So back to the drawing board to figure out what's going on there.
Speaker B: But rest assured.

Speaker A: I will have a router up here shortly.
Speaker B: Well, I got an email from Jeff that he was headed over to the vault this morning to work on the mesh core that's up at the vault in Auburn. And so if he's still working on it after the net's over, I might go over there and join him. But yes indeed, Mesh Corps. Looking forward to the presentation this Friday. Learn more about it. I just decided to wait until after the presentation this Friday before I make a decision of what equipment to purchase. I just want to, you know, I've read a lot but I'd like to, you know, sit down with a group of people I know and maybe hear a bit more about it.
Speaker A: Absolutely. Looking to that presentation Friday as well. Speaking of Friday with the club meeting, Brian, I haven't heard but we still, let's not forget the donations. Still need donations for the church there. I look forward to bringing what I have. And then, oh my gosh, the dreaded taxes. I got to get those done today because everybody's asking for them. So I'm going to be busy.
Speaker B: Well, very good. Yes indeed, I am slowly taking chinks out of the, out of the tax armor here and getting mine ready. My goal is to have it done probably the next two to three weeks. But yes, indeed, no, we will continue to collect food for the food bank. And yes indeed, there's no mention of what to bring. So I'm going to be bringing the stuff that I normally do. Gonna grab maybe a thing of peanut butter and some couple boxes of cereal and some other non perishable things, maybe some spaghetti sauce. I, I usually try bringing somewhere around $20 or so worth of supplies to put on that, on that donation for folks that may not be as, you know, not have, not have things. You know, what am I trying to say here? People that are struggling and we are certainly in a place that we can assist. So yes indeed, remember this Friday bring non perishable food items for the food bank and join us at our new open house location which is Placer County HHS Conference Center. That's at the DeWitt center in Auburn. Easy access off of I80. Take the bell Road exit. Looking forward to a great Mesh Corps presentation and those who can't be there in person. If you want to see a presentation on Mesh Corps, join us on Zoom. And that starts at 7:30 this upcoming Friday evening.
Speaker A: Thank you Brian. Yep, look forward to being there. Looking forward to Ryan AV System. And with that I think my allotted time is up. I will say 7 3.
Speaker B: Everyone have a great week.
Speaker A: Ko6abq.
Speaker B: Allotted time. Yes, indeed. Good morning, will. Kj5gwn. Happy Monday.
Speaker C: Good morning, Brian. Yep, sorry I'm late. I had to run to the bank, put some money in. So I've got a little bit more in reserve for later use. But anyway, got that done, got it over with. So not doing too much here. Just had lunch. It's almost noon time here locally. So anyway, I got another net I need to get to at noon, so I'm going to clear QSY over to that one. And y' all have a good day. Oh, by the way, it's supposed to get up to 80 degrees here in Oklahoma City today, so yay for weather. Anyway, back over there to you, Brian. This is KJ5 Golf, Whiskey River.
Speaker B: My goodness. I remember two weeks ago it was down and freezing. We were talking about potential for some severe storms, ice and 80 degrees today, crazy weather. I was trying to think of the last time I went into the bank to do any business other than putting out any international wire. And I just, it's strange, you know, you think 20, 30 years ago, had you thought that you would have been doing all your banking over, over the Internet. You know, it's like, you know, ATMs. Okay, I'm even lear. I was even leery back in the day of putting cash in an atm. Look at us now. Kj5gwn. You have a wonderful day, Will.
Speaker C: Well, I would do most of my banking online except for my bank. The online setup is a lot worse off than the in person setup. So, you know, I would rather do it more in person than online. But that's just me. Anyway, KJ5 gophers. Just going to remember we're clear.
Speaker B: Hell, I must say, you know, online banking is simple, but you know, the. I do send quite a few international wires for equipment and that sort of thing. And yeah, that's, they don't, they don't give an easy path to do that online. They want to see your face and make sure you aren't scamming or being scammed. KJ5TWN AI6 US coffee break. Good morning everybody. Today is Monday. It is February 9, 2026. And let's go ahead and take some more check ins. It is a little after what, 9, 16, 9:17am Pacific time. And let's go ahead and take some more check ins. Good morning. N2DYI. N9MUF6DT. All right. Good morning, Rick. N6 Delta tango. And good morning to Daniel. N9 MUF and good after morning to Patrick in 10. Did I miss anyone? All right, let's check in with Patrick first into dyi. I had a couple of lovely email exchanges with David in R9V over at all scan and I have a UCI 200 has been shipped. Then he wrote an email. Oh by the way, you need the mini din to yaesu mini 6. So now I need to decide what I'm going to do for that adapter cable. But good morning.
Speaker D: Well the good news is that those cables are really easy to get and
Speaker B: pretty easy to make.
Speaker D: They're very, very common. Good after morning Brian. And let's see.
Speaker B: Yeah, I actually got reasonable sleep for
Speaker D: the first time last night in I don't know how many weeks. Granted I had to take stuff to get to that point. My watch had been telling me that I've been getting three and a half hours of sleep for the past two weeks on average. So I figured I really should probably try to do something about that.
Speaker C: So took some stuff.
Speaker B: I slept for eight hours.
Speaker D: I got to bed at a normal time and woke up at a regular time. That's weird.
Speaker B: Will the DEA be knocking on your door and with an arrest warrant? What did you take? I'm glad you got a good restful night though.
Speaker D: Well, if the DEA comes after me for getting Walmart branded Z quill I don't know what to say.
Speaker B: You might be brewing something in the bathroom that we need to talk about. Well, very good.
Speaker D: I am so glad that you got
Speaker B: a good decent sleep. You know the world is a completely different place when you get a good, good solid block of sleep. That is for sure. Well good. So are you going to have some encore performances the rest of the week? Well, that's the hope.
Speaker D: We'll see how it goes I guess.
Speaker B: Yeah, I've been just gotten myself into the routine of getting up at 4am and I don't know why. Some mornings I wander into the shack and get on the radio. Other times I just, I just decided, you know, I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions but I am getting myself a little, a little non see through sack here. A duvetyne bag that I have that various equipment has come in and my phone is going to go in there. I am sick and tired of being kind of faux outrage everything else that comes across social media. I am February. I'm starting today. My phone actually this morning is sitting in a bag out of sight and I decided I am just going to challenge myself to only look at that phone unless it rings once a day. Well, good luck.
Speaker D: I do understand where you're coming from. I absolutely get that.
Speaker B: But, man, good luck.
Speaker D: It's a lot less easy. Easy than you think it would be to do that. I've tried doing that a couple of times.
Speaker B: You know, I've never tried it before. I've heard others, and I go, oh, I can control my impulse. But, you know, the reality is, you
Speaker C: know, you have a few minutes, so
Speaker B: you pick up your phone, and you start scrolling through it, and then 15, 20 minutes has gone by, and I. You know, I think the thing that really got me was, you know, we've talked about the halftime show a couple times and things like that, and I just look at that and go, how can there be so much faux outrage out there that, you know, people will just. I mean, they'll fight over the stupidest sight nowadays?
Speaker D: Yeah, no kidding. I mean, it's.
Speaker B: It's ridiculous.
Speaker D: Came and went a decade ago, and now it's just gone to some other
Speaker B: world that we don't. No.
Speaker D: Don't have a name for it.
Speaker C: Yeah.
Speaker B: You know, and you. The line is getting blurred now. The, you know, the faux. The fake accounts, the. You know, even the videos that are out there and sound bites and everything else, it's just, you know, generated. Is this real or is this, you know, the AI getting trained?
Speaker D: Yeah. And at the same time, you have. Yeah, okay, this is AI sure that. Wait, no, it's not. Oh, okay. So we're going in that direction now. We're going from the. Is this actually AI To Wait, is this actually real? Yeah, it's a fun time to be alive when it comes to that sort of thing. So, yeah, I've kind of not really been dealing with any mainstream social media in quite a while. My Facebook account got hacked in 2021, and I just said, you know what? Whoops, I can't get it back.
Speaker B: At the time, there was a. There was a workaround you could.
Speaker D: If you couldn't get in contact with a human, because I was. I was trying to get it back and just not. It just wasn't working out. And there was a workaround where if you couldn't get in contact with a human to get your account reset, you could buy an oculus quest for $300 and then fail to activate it. And then when you couldn't get it to activate because you couldn't log into your account, you contact their support team, and they would help you get through the activation process. You activate it, and then you return it. Get your $300 back and I decided, you know what, it's not worth my. The zero dollars that I would eventually end up spending on my credit card to really care about all that. So I just let it go.
Speaker B: How interesting. So you'd have to buy something to get somebody to contact you to see why you didn't activate it to actually get support for another purpose. I love it. I love it. Yeah. Now it's just basically impossible to get a real person. So many platforms. It's crazy. And you know, it just, you know, support has definitely taken an interesting turn. Well, good morning. Good after morning to there Patrick. And this evening we have the all nodes net 6pm Pacific, that's 9pm Eastern. And I imagine we're going to follow up with a more conversation on the updates that are going on for the ASL node numbers and some clear node updates.
Speaker C: Yeah, I guess.
Speaker D: I mean I haven't really heard anything really big since that announcement last weekend other than it's been confirmed now that at least the latest versions of ham VoIP can successfully connect to those new nodes that they will eventually be issuing with sevens. And it was kind of when they originally posted that announcement, like I said when I came on here last Monday, you know, it was kind of a mad rush, kind of an oh no, this is going to break. And I can see why they would say that I was, I was there with them, but apparently not. So that's a good thing.
Speaker B: I think the follow up will be. There have been additional conversations since last Monday that kind of indicate that ClearNode is working on a plan. AmVoIP is able to handle it and some of the unknowns have been certainly addressed. Well, good morning, thank you for your assistance over the weekend. I was trying to pick out that perfect connection communication connections tool and I was looking at the AllScan UCI 200 which you have highly recommended on several occasions. And I was just, I was reading through the website and the more I read the more I got confused, you know, was I was I looking at considering to buy a Lamborghini when all I needed was a Volkswagen and so I ordered the Lamborghini.
Speaker D: Well, you know, and it's one of those things where there's not a lot of products like it. So when you, when you go to a Lamborghini dealer and all they sell is Lamborghinis, I guess you have to buy what's on the lot.
Speaker B: Well, I'm really looking forward to it. I think we'll get a take a little getting used to for me to be running this net with Full duplex and you know, you have a lot of awareness with like Supermon and all Mon and you know, having a VFOB on ASL so you can monitor other key and that sort of thing. But you know, having duplex I think will be a game changer for me, but I think it's going to take some getting used to. I think the biggest thing that I'm looking forward to is being able to have, you know, just pristine audio like I quite often enjoy from you.
Speaker C: Yeah.
Speaker D: Well, it'll definitely be interesting to see what your system does with that.
Speaker B: Definitely.
Speaker D: I would recommend taking off by default. The channel driver has a PL filter
Speaker B: on it which, hey, you don't need
Speaker D: it because you're not sending out Pls and it's got a natural high pass filter on it anyway that makes all the extreme low end go away. So that, that's definitely a thing I would do.
Speaker B: Yeah, everything that can shape your signal before it even arrives and goes out. Very good. I will, I'm sure there will be many, many things that we'll be talking about, but no, the final landed price, I think it is, including shipping and everything else is going to be $233. And I kind of looked at them and went, wow, that's, that's more than I, you know, that's, that's the cost of a radio. But then it is like, well, it is replacing radio and it's something I use, you know, many hours each week. So I'm kind of thinking that it's the right thing to do. And, and it really seems to have good filtration that I'm going to enjoy that the nodes do not have typically, but thank you so much. I know you spent some time with me, talking me through, talking me down off the edge and then pointing me to another place to jump.
Speaker C: Well, you know,
Speaker D: that's one way to look at it. But, but yeah, I don't think I paid quite that much for mine. But I also ended up buying the MA1 adapter for my other node which
Speaker B: as it turns out there was a revision for that and I had a
Speaker D: problem with mine and David was like, oh yeah, send the thing back. There's a new version with better filters. We'll swap that out for you. So I'm going to do that this week and get my M1KE sent off to get replaced or repaired or whatever they end up doing with that because something has happened with the microphone on that. So yeah, I got to do all that. And I'm also finally, I'VE been meaning to do this for a while, but I'm finally looking into purchasing a Nano VNA because there are now a bunch
Speaker B: of I know of at least four
Speaker D: different accessible projects for with getting useful information out of a Nano VNA with a screen reader. And I happen to have a problem over here with my J pole outside my VHF UHF J pole. It's a netfong J pole and I
Speaker B: don't know if it's the coax or
Speaker D: the pass through box or something with the antenna itself, but it's not right and I want to know why.
Speaker B: Okay, very good. Well, do you happen to know off the top of your head which software packages have accessibility to them? That would be great information. If you don't have it now, I'd like it from you at some time.
Speaker D: Well, the only one I can remember the name of off the top of my head, there's one called Nano DNA Saver and there are at least three other ones.
Speaker B: There's one that a friend of mine
Speaker D: in Germany is working on that he just released.

Speaker A: Literally a few days ago.
Speaker B: I forget what it's called.
Speaker A: I think it's nanovna Access or something like that. And there's another one by a gentleman
Speaker B: with a KC1 call and I can't remember that one either.
Speaker A: But yeah, there's a few of them out there.
Speaker B: Well that is great to know that. Very capable for our hobby. Great tool and, and know that the graphical stuff is now accessible.
Speaker C: So that's awesome.
Speaker B: Good. Let us know how that goes when you do shop for your nanovna. Just, you know, I am recommending the version that has the in connectors and the push buttons. A lot of, you know, the original nanovnas had a ocker push switch on them so that were it was just a bad encoder. They just skipping all over the place and when they went over to the push button, up, down and inter buttons, much more, you know, the encoding is much more exact. But the biggest thing is the version that has the N type connectors. Much more robust aluminum cased with IN connectors.
Speaker A: Well, I typically like end connectors. If I can get end connectors, I'll use them. My J pole actually has an end connector on it. My radio doesn't though. It's just so 239 but I can definitely see that over SMA. Yeah, that's going to be a pretty big difference.
Speaker B: Yeah, I was going to look it up here to see which one. There's one that I recommended a couple weeks ago for N7 MSM to purchase and I know that he really, really has liked it. You know, the Arsic A U R S I N C version 2.2
Speaker C: has
Speaker B: the N type connectors and it's on sale right now for 99 bucks. Wow.
Speaker D: So does that come with all the
Speaker A: little attenuators and other stuff as well?
Speaker B: Yeah, comes with. Here it is right here. If you want I can give you the ASIN number from Amazon, but right now that's a good deal. Lowest price I've seen on that in a while. It comes with your calibration in N type connectors. It also comes with two in to in type jumpers and a USB C to USB A and a soft hard case. Oh, very cool.
Speaker A: Yeah, I just pulled that up on Amazon. I just found that I'm definitely going to be picking that up.
Speaker B: Yeah, and this is one that I have purchased three times for gifting to club members. But I've honestly have never seen it this, this low of a price. I've always paid, you know, 114 or so. So yeah, $99. It's anybody out there? Bravo, bravo. 08, golf 4 golf. X ray, tango, kilo. Kilo. That's as I n d 08 g 4 gx t k k so Arsic Nanovna bought three of them and I'm. This is the one that I believe that Marv purchased last week as well or two weeks ago. So, yeah, a known record and they work well. Very cool. Okay, thanks for that, Brian.
Speaker A: Definitely be picking one of those up.
Speaker C: I've been meaning to do that for
Speaker A: a while, but now something has actually come up. So I got to see where in the chain. Something is messed up.
Speaker B: I mean, there's not too much that
Speaker A: can go wrong with the antenna. It's a little piece of wire sitting inside a PVC pipe, so I'm guessing it's probably something with one of the
Speaker B: two pieces of coax. Well, good luck and be interested to know how the software accessibility works with these. So, yeah, I'd love to have a feedback on it. Well, you have a great day. I know you will because you had a great night's sleep and now you're going to be probably working on a dozen things that you just didn't have the energy or desire to follow through on the last couple weeks. And by the way, one more thing before I let you go. I did not know that your M1KE had an issue. I remember hearing something about maybe the mic had slipped out of position some time ago, but. What's going on?
Speaker A: Well, if you've heard N6EMS's mic, that's what mine sounds like now.
Speaker C: It's.
Speaker A: It's kind of boxy and weird and yeah, I'm not sure exactly what's going on. I thought maybe the mic had gotten knocked out of position, but I took it apart and it looked okay. So I put it all back together and just for fun, I reset everything. That didn't make any difference. It's definitely, definitely a physical problem somewhere.
Speaker B: Okay, very good. Yeah, I have told Bob, I mean, from the get go, that his just didn't sound right. And I know he's done a lot of adjustment to it. It sounds much better, but it still doesn't have that full range that I've heard on other mics. So, yeah, maybe give him some feedback on your swap out and maybe that's something that he should consider as well because, yeah, I agree. His audio has never sounded as clean and crisp as I've heard others, so. Interesting. Thanks, Patrick.
Speaker A: Yep. When you compare him to like Smitty
Speaker B: or Dave or Daniel Yeah, those are
Speaker A: what they're supposed to sound like. There's definitely something wrong and I've heard it on a couple of them. So it's this big resonant chamber. Like there's a gap somewhere between the microphone and the casing. I don't know. Anyway, they're going to fix it. I'm sending it to a place in Wisconsin so I don't have to ship
Speaker B: it all the way to Europe.
Speaker A: And they're going to send me another one, so I just got to get that done anyway. 73 Brian, have a good one. We'll catch you on the all nodes net tonight, 9pm Eastern, 6pm Pacific. N2DYI7 3
Speaker B: I realize this check went a little long, but thank you so much for the information and yes, keep us updated, let us know. And that is great to know that they have in North America service provided for this. I was kind of curious if that would have to be shipped off to Europe. That's awesome. Clearing with N2DYI. We'll catch you this evening on the All Nodes net here on node 51018 and connected All Star and EchoLink nodes. Good morning Daniel. N9MUS.
Speaker C: Good morning Brian and the Net. We've got a beautiful sunny day here. It's warming up, but we are going
Speaker B: to push the photo op to tomorrow.
Speaker C: It's supposed to be a few degrees warmer and by then I hope that the mud will have solidified a little bit as well.
Speaker B: Okay. It's been a little while since you've done a pota. Any new tools that you're taking out?
Speaker C: Not this time. Same old same old. Just trying to move toward probably doing some CW during a POTA at some point. Rather than digital modes or FT8 being the only digital FT8 and FT4 being the only two digital modes that I tend to during a POTA. The main reason for that is I'm trying to make sure that my son can stay involved and if I go to Pierce cw, he can't copy it yet. I don't want to exclude him.
Speaker B: Well, you know, you could lay your phone or his phone right beside the speaker and put on Morse decoder. I found that program to be very handy when I'm not tracking. You know, I have a lot of trouble with numbers and so when I have just found Morse decoder, it's an Android app, I'm sure they have something very similar for the iOS, but it does a fine job of decoding and it's an auto speed detect and I think it's just as good as anything I've seen otherwise. So might be something that kind of has a stopgap that will involve him but let you kind of spread out your interest as well.
Speaker C: Yeah, I just want him to be able to be part of the experience. He's really enjoyed it so far, so I want to make sure that I keep him involved. He definitely liked being the logger for me when we were doing ssb and he is constant, running, running the laptop and the radio under my supervision. So that's. That's a really good thing to see. He'll get his license yet, I'm sure of that. It's just, I think some confidence issues. He's not really great with math and trips up on the math when it comes to the test.
Speaker B: Oh, you sound like that typical amateur radio father. He's going to get licensed if I have to beat it out of him.
Speaker C: You know, you could do worse things like become a Bears fan
Speaker B: or cheer for. Cheer for one of those teams that played yesterday. So how did yesterday go for you? I know it was kind of somber because you, you kept saying, I'm sure you know that. Oh man, if my Green Bay guy would have been there, it would have been a different game and it would have been no doubt.
Speaker C: I watched it with mixed opinions. I, I was happy for Sam Darnold that he won, but I have been a. An anti Seahawks person for quite some time. All apologies to you, Larry. The fail Mary was certainly a part of that. Well, the whole. When it comes to the Seahawks. And then I just watched the kerfuffle over the halftime shows and laughed about
Speaker B: it because it's like, come on, people,
Speaker C: it's just a show.
Speaker A: Yeah.
Speaker B: To see people so invested in that argument. It was, you know, hey, it had, it, it had a positive effect on me though. My phone is sitting in a duvetyne bag just out of reach today. I just had enough of that BS from all sides to be so whatever. Very cool. Well, let's see. I was going to ask you. Oh, when you go out to these PODA events, you go out with multiple bands available to you and then you work whatever band is going to be best for you for the day. Or do you go out prepared to work a specific band?
Speaker C: No, we go out ready to go. We're trying to. I go out and then I'll pull a Pam clock once I get set up. Pull up a few other reporting sites just to see what it's going to be like because you never know. And if you go out what can be good conditions when you leave the house? By the time you set up, conditions do change. So we're flexible from 10 all the
Speaker B: way up to about 40 and supporting gear. When you go out to run your poda, do you take your own tabletop, your own chairs? Do you take a canopy or just rely on what's available at the location?
Speaker C: We rely on what's available at the location. We've got a tarp and an umbrella in case we need to throw up some emergency rain covering. We had one situation where it started to rain. We got it all packed up and then of course two minutes later it stopped raining. And after that the tarp is part
Speaker B: of the regular gear.
Speaker C: But both of the spots are so wonderful and just so inviting. Well, both the spots that we've been going to, I've got three more slated that I need to check out and pre scout. But it's just been a joy to set up on a picnic table and enjoy the lake or the waterfall. One place has a beautiful lake, the other one a lovely waterfall and just be out there with everything. You know, I think getting into too much of a canopy or a tent
Speaker B: like that kind of would remove a
Speaker C: little of the whole park experience for us.
Speaker B: Yeah. Certainly puts up a barrier between you and anybody who's kind of interested in what you're doing as well, but very cool. Well, thank you for sharing that, Daniel. Well, excellent. Well, we'll look forward to maybe catching you on the bands tomorrow. It is always fun to work somebody who has. Hey look, Daniel. Daniel's on 20 so I look forward to maybe getting you in the log again manana. Well, good morning, Daniel. Good morning to you and your family and you have a great Monday ahead.
Speaker C: Should be a good radio day. I know I've got a bunch of things in the to do list that I need to get done that are all radio oriented. Oh, darn. Oh, shocks. You know, to start getting packed up for the class on Saturday since I'll be teaching both the extra class and a little add on for the techs. Some hands on for the, for the, for the text. Just saying, look, here are some technologies that you can use to talk around the world. So we'll see how that goes. Might have the tech class. We might be checking into the NAT on Saturday as a group.
Speaker B: On one of the forums that I follow, I had a good laugh because there was this age old excuse. Some guy going, you know, I'm studying for my. I think he was studying for his general. Why do I need to Learn about all these digital modes that I'm never going to use. You know what use is me learning this stuff? Yes indeed. God forbid you learn anything about technology beyond the spark gap.
Speaker C: I think that always cracks me up how all the complaints about whatever this is isn't real ham radio. And I hear so many people that are grateful for the FT modes because they can work with the minimal power and substandard equipment and then again for the digital voice modes because it gets people on the air. Every now and then you talk to the person who's able to work
Speaker B: digital
Speaker C: voice from their from hospice or from a retirement home and they are so very grateful for it.
Speaker B: No, absolutely just, it just gives you more tools in the toolbox and yeah, it was just a, you know, it was kind of interesting. There was quite a bit pushback to his comment that kind of surprised me. It's kind of like, well he, you
Speaker D: know,
Speaker B: probably the same excuse was had when they went from AM to sideband and introduced FM onto 2 meters. It's kind of like the, you know, it marches on technology whether we want to accept it or not. Hey Daniel, Happy Monday to you. N9 MUF AI6US.
Speaker C: It'll always be a good Monday but that's because even though I think it, you know, Monday the 13th is the worst day I'm going to choose to look on the bright side of things. I've got the four weasel trying to get into all the, the amateur tools that I've got out and it'll, it'll be a good radio filled day and that will be a good test. Seven three to you in the nat Brian and nine muscles.
Speaker B: Oh and I know I cried on your shoulder about this but I got the Dell 3040 loaded up with ASL3. I'm still having a little trouble connecting all mon into it. I don't know why but yes, I have a Dell 3040 mini thin computer client computer sitting here running ASL3 and it's showing online. I just can't hit it with all one yet but little successes. I'm quite, that's. That's the result of my weekend. Have a great day. Daniel. In 6 Delta tango Good morning Rick.
Speaker D: Hey Brian. Good morning. This is Rick N60T. So congratulations on getting away from your phone and the social media stuff. I just had to do it just because it made me crazy because of the level of idiocy on there. But I do have a. So I'm not what you call a lefty, I'm a righty. I've developed a good friendship with a guy who's a lefty and he comes over to the house and we have a bowl of ice cream and talk about things and it's really great. It's nice to have those conversations which you can discuss opinions and have a peaceful outcome over bowl ice cream. So that's my suggestion for you if you have, if you have the opportunity. The. The other thing real quick is that gonna go out. Got a couple of new guys who want to learn to pod us. We're gonna do some potas. I'm taking my old zygoo out and they built some antennas. They're both Kilowatt Oscar stations. They built their own HF antennas. So we'll go out and see, see if we can blow up my radio here this weekend. But no, it's, it's a lot of fun to take these new guys out and help them just to see how things work. And, and I one in particular will be his first time on hf. So that'll be fun and hopefully we'll make some contact. Anyway, that's it for me. Brian, you take care n60t.
Speaker B: Oh, very good advice there, Rick. And that's awesome. Thank you. That you're lighting that interest in POTA with the newbies here.
Speaker A: That's awesome.
Speaker B: No one thing about me, I greet all trains at the station. I don't pick my friends based on the.

Speaker A: Their political affiliation and you know, I. Some of my friends, I don't even know what their political sways are and they probably don't know mine because we have better things to talk about when we're in person. So there we go, Rick, you have a wonderful day. And yeah, I'll keep you guys updated on how long the phone stays in the duvetyne bag.
Speaker B: N6DT AI6US.
Speaker A: You have a great day. 7373 Brian, good morning. Coffee breaknet on the W6EK repeater. Boy, we're getting mighty close to 10 o'. Clock. Where is the time flying today? Let's go ahead and just start taking quick in and outs as you guys check in and as we get close to the top of the hour. So. Hi, anybody want to just a quick check in to fill out the rest of the top till the top of the hour. I'm Brian AI6us and this is the Coffee Breaknet on the W6ek repeater and all star and echo link. Hi everybody.
Speaker B: Hello.
Speaker A: November 6th, November Uniform Foxtrot, Peter El
Speaker C: Gro who wanted you and everybody on the net.
Speaker A: Morning. This is Dan, KO6IPV,
Speaker D: Kilo, November 6th, Uniform Sierra Hotel, in and out.
Speaker E: K through.
Speaker A: All right, kabvgm. Good morning, jimmy. And good morning to mike kn6ush. And let's see, let's see. I think k06idv. I think that's is dan, good morning to you. And let's see, kg6.
Speaker F: Let's see.
Speaker A: N lw. Good morning, frank. I'm just. I've written down partial call signs here and I'm trying to recreate them in my mind. Good morning to peter, kd6qzh and good morning to joshua kn6n u f. Let's see. Looking at the looks like we got everybody off of supermon. Did I miss anyone?
Speaker B: Kilo, November 6th, whiskey Quebec, uniform, KN6W key wing.
Speaker A: That's dumped on. Man, Dan, I didn't even recognize your voice. That is very sharp, crisp audio. Nothing wrong with it, but just didn't sound like your normal Signal. Good morning KN6WQ. Okay, let's go up to the top of the list. These are quick in and out.
Speaker B: So.
Speaker A: Good morning Joshua, KN6nUF. Good morning, Brian.
Speaker G: And morning to the rest of the Net. I'm just here at home resting and
Speaker H: enjoying time with my kids.
Speaker G: Feeling great being back to normal and taking my meds and just doing what the doctor does and enjoying some time off.
Speaker H: Hope everybody's having a great day.
Speaker A: Enjoy your Monday.
Speaker H: KN6NUS clear.
Speaker A: All right, Joshua. Yeah, definitely. Really surprised me when I heard you had been in the hospital. But hopefully all of that is under control and great that you can be back home and really relax where you can relax. I'm glad to hear you're recouping my friend. KN6NUFAI6US.
Speaker H: Thank you, Brian.
Speaker A: It's great to be home.
Speaker H: KN6NUS clear.
Speaker A: And good morning to Peter, KD6QZH. Anything for the net today, Peter?
Speaker E: Oh, just be good to be with you all.
Speaker A: Took a little break to check in and sorry my voice is a little off, but because of the schedule I haven't been able to check in as often.
Speaker C: So you all were missed.
Speaker A: And great to be with you today. I'll pass it back. Katie's. Excuse me. Back to you, Brian. All right, Peter, Happy Monday to you. Thank you for finding a coffee break at work to check into the coffee break. You have a great day. Clean with KD6QZH and good morning, Frank. KG6ENLW.
Speaker C: Good morning, Brian. And the coffee break net from a chilly but comfortable 60 degree Barstool, California. I mean Barstow. Sorry, I'm so used to calling it barstool I forget people don't know the nickname for it. My live stream overnight apparently crashed about 9 o' clock this morning or a little before that. So only part of the coffee breakneck got out on the live stream this morning. Hopefully Wednesday morning it gets out a little better. Not much else going on. Gonna go to bed here shortly and
Speaker A: start my day all over again.
Speaker C: And well, eight, six hours here.
Speaker A: AI6US.
Speaker C: KT6NLW with the coffee break.
Speaker F: Nick, good morning.
Speaker A: Good morning, Frank. Definitely the ability to sleep during the day amazes me. If I even think there's light on the other side of the curtain, I can never sleep. But I know you get into that routine. Very good. Well, you have a wonderful day. Have a great rest and rinse and repeat. KG6NLW AI6US. Have a wonderful day. Frank 7:3. Oh, yeah.
Speaker C: Takes a lot of blackout curtains to make it happen. And some sleeping aid. 73.
Speaker A: Brian.
Speaker F: Oh, yeah.
Speaker A: Just knowing that it's like I would not survive if I lived, you know, in the, in the Arctic Circle or Northern Canada or Alaska. You know, if it was light, I would be up at 2 o' clock in the morning installing a new antenna or something. Clearing with kg sticks in LW. Good morning, Dan. K06IDV.
Speaker E: Good morning, Brian.
Speaker A: Hope you had a good weekend.
Speaker F: Just thought I'd check in real quiet Real quick. Say good morning to everybody and thanks
Speaker A: for hosting the coffee break today.
Speaker E: You bet.
Speaker A: Dan, great to have you stop by today. Anything you want to share of your last weekend's experiences?
Speaker E: I guess too much.
Speaker A: Worked at my wife's keep a little
Speaker F: bit, ordered a tie rod and drag link assembly and the package arrived in such bad shape that the drag link was missing.
Speaker A: And when I took it back to
Speaker F: FedEx to ship it back, they tried to say that it was my fault somehow or the shipper's fault.
Speaker A: Yes, indeed, I don't choose to ship FedEx over UPS. I found that I had much better success with claims. But don't you hate that? Especially since I'm sure the shipper paid, you know, paid for insurance and everything else to get that slap back. That's crazy. Well, so I guess only certain things were completed on the wife's Jeep. You have to wait for replacements.
Speaker F: That is correct. So I did get it shipped back and they wanted me to pay to have it repackaged till I pointed out there are footprints all over the package that when they sent it at that point he said, oh, but yeah, I got the steering gearbox in and I managed to get the brakes done.
Speaker A: So hopefully the other part will get
Speaker F: back there and I'll get my money refunded.
Speaker A: Yes indeed. I like that. Surprising they didn't ask you to, you know, show your shoe size before they, they refunded there. Well, definitely we've seen enough instances where the driver pitches the package over the fence and runs. Have a wonderful day and thanks for sharing a little bit about your weekend. K06IDV AI6US Happy Monday. Thank you, you too, Brian.
Speaker F: K06IDV
Speaker A: and where in the world is Mike KN6USH? Good morning, Mike.
Speaker D: Well, I'm still on planet Earth. I have not left this place yet, but probably getting close to that trip someday maybe, but can't live forever. But still, you know, interesting topic, social media and I've tried to turn away and I've kind of mimicked it myself and I find that helps. Except for when I put my phone down and I drive away to go to the store and I'm looking around, checking my pockets going where's that thing at? I can't find it. Oh, you know, it's an emotional attachment and it's pretty tough kind of change.
Speaker A: I've always relied on my own self control which I thought was getting me by until I got a notice this last week of how much I spent an additional hour and a half on my phone Last week. And I went, how did that happen? And then I started kind of actually taking tabs of how much time I spend on my phone throughout the day. And you know, I thought that I had good self control, but obviously I was being worn down. Yeah, take that phone with you. You know, for example, I need my phone to make payments. I often do the payment, you know, from the, from the smartphone without pulling out the credit card. So yeah, the reliance runs deep.
Speaker D: Yes, it does. But I'm trying to establish a balance, you know. And you know, my company uses AI now to answer the phone when you call in. I'm getting rather rude talking to AI, telling them to go put their head in a bucket, stuff like that. But I, I just try to bypass it. I can't deal with it. It's too automated. I don't like it. I prefer the old fashioned way. But anyway, that's why I check in, so I can talk to a human.
Speaker A: That's a very interesting comment, Mike. We really appreciate your feedback. Would you like to elaborate a little bit more?
Speaker D: Well, it would go south and you know, my company north. So anyway, yeah, you know, the copy break can stir up a lot of thought and it's hard. It's really difficult to put it all together sometimes because short two minutes.
Speaker F: So just kind of comment on it
Speaker D: and you know, that's how I feel about a lot of stuff.
Speaker A: Sorry, that was my best attempt to sound like an AI tool. Yes, indeed. AI is really literally taking over so many aspects from business integration to technical support to. I mean some of them are just wonderful. But there are just some times that you get the satisfaction unless you unload on a real person. Mike, have a wonderful day. Always a pleasure. Happy Monday.
Speaker D: Absolutely.
Speaker F: Brian.
Speaker D: Friday.
Speaker A: Looking forward to seeing you at the club meeting a brand new location open house this Friday. Look forward to seeing you there. And it will be a great presentation on mesh systems as well. Mike, you have a great day. KN6USHAI6US coffee break. Good morning, Jimmy. KA3VGM.
Speaker E: Pretty fine. Okay, quick question for n9muf. He's still listening.
Speaker A: If I may. Yeah, daniel, n9muf, are you still monitoring? I am here.
Speaker I: Email was received, sir.
Speaker E: I've just.
Speaker I: I'm a little behind on some emails and. And that is one of those radio items today that I'm going to make
Speaker A: sure gets taken care of. Okay.
Speaker E: I just wanted to make sure Earl think did not send into the black hole never to be seen again. That's all. Sorry. I just wanted to make sure you got It KA free vgm. Thanks, Brian.
Speaker A: Oh, very good. Glad that we could make that connection there. You have a great day there, Jimmy. KA3VGM AI6US. Good morning, Dan. KN6WQ. I think you're probably on that new radio, the Ratel 950Pro. I think I heard you say that you got delivered. Good morning.
Speaker B: Good morning, Brian.
Speaker A: Annette.
Speaker B: That's correct. This is KN6WQ on the Redtail 950 Pro. I love this thing. It's my new carry every day, that's for sure. You know, I love the fact that it does GPS or APRs like true FTRs. It does all kinds of really neat stuff, even some HF stuff. You know, it does 11 meters and 10 meters for sure. So that's pretty neat. But anyway, let's see. You know, I was wondering why my day was going a little sideways this morning and I just thought to myself, wow, I haven't checked in coffee breaknet this morning. So I had to get that out of the way so I can get the day started the right way.
Speaker A: Back over to you. Oh, golly gee, I'm blushing. Very good, Dan. Yeah, I'm wondering, are you on the same node or is this a different node? Your audio, while it is quite sharp and very legible, it has no wide fidelity to it. It's just very, very sharp. It sounds like a good communications mic.
Speaker B: Yeah, roger that. I'm kind of talking directly into the mic too, so that might help. But yeah, this is my same Shari node that I usually am on that we've been having some frequency issues with. But yeah, same. Same exact setup. I just kind of programmed it to this thing and went to went to town on it. So it must be the mic on this thing.
Speaker A: One other setting you might check. Are you sure you're on wideband mode on this radio?
Speaker B: No, I am not sure, but I
Speaker A: should probably check that out. Yeah, nothing objectionable about your audio, but it is very favoring the high end. It's very easy to understand, but it just doesn't have the fidelity that we normally hear in your voice. So. Yeah, let us know. Quite interested in that. Yeah, that is one radio that I am leaning towards adding to my flock. It looks like a very interesting radio and a good price point on it and just some neat features.
Speaker F: Comment?
Speaker B: This is now the narrow band on the 950 Pro.
Speaker A: I'm sorry, so you said it is in narrow band.
Speaker F: Roger that.
Speaker B: Is currently in narrow band right now.
Speaker A: We'll switch that over to wide band and let's see if you if that gives you the audio that you should have. So yeah, heard you there, Art. KN6 SSP. Go ahead, Art.
Speaker D: Good morning, Brian.
Speaker A: Good morning, Dan. You know new radio, but you failed to mention what color did you get? K and six ssb. Well, go ahead, Dan. We want to know. Yeah, that Rad Tail 950 does come in a variety of colors. Colors that could be easily lost in the forest. I may add some of them.
Speaker B: So I got the color black and I am now in wide mode. So I don't think wide or narrow even. It might be a setting in my in the All Star note because I have changed a couple things on it. Maybe I'll try to check in a little later on a different radio and see if it's just my Note. This is KN6WQ. Thanks for letting me cab in.
Speaker A: Okay. Well, you definitely have a little wider fidelity now, but it's still something that's different. I think it's in your pre pre pre discriminator setting. I think so. All right. Very good, Dan. Well, thank you for sharing that and the good old black color of the RT950 Pro. Look forward to maybe seeing that if you if you bring it up to the club meeting on Friday evening. Look Forward to seeing one in person. KN6WQU AI6US73.73.
Speaker B: Yep. I'll bring it then. Art, you have a good day.
Speaker A: We'll talk to you later. And before we let Art go, what color would you choose if you were selecting a Radtel 950 Pro? Well, I've got a clear on this kid radio, but I.

Speaker A: I see they don't offer that. I'd probably go with the orange myself but you know, it sounds kind of nasally. I don't know if that's, you know, indicative of the radio or whatever he switched, but that's how I hear it is a little nasally. Yeah, definitely favoring the high end. Very sharp sounding signal. I think it'd be great. It sounds like a, you know, sounds almost like a TID radio in many ways. But yeah, I think one of the other settings is wrong art. You have a wonderful day. The bad thing about a solid color like orange is if you keep that on your mechanic's bench, you know what that radio is going to look like in a few days. Because I know how often you clean your hands when you're working on a car. Yeah, they definitely tend to show black grease prints. So does the clear. But I'm, I'm pretty good, pretty good about keeping the radios kind of clean. So one of these days though, I'll probably drop it in a bucket of oil and that'll be that. They are waterproof but are they oil proof? We'll find out. I guess just don't drop it in brake cleaner. KN6SSP AI6US. You have a wonderful Monday. YouTube. Ryan kn6ssb clear. Back to the grind. Back to the grind that pays the bills, I may add. Good morning coffee breaknet on the W60K repeater. Have A wonderful day, everybody. 7 3.
Speaker D: Ai6uskd6hln if you have a minute, Brian.
Speaker A: Yeah, go ahead, Joe.
Speaker D: I was just noticing that I also get the repeater at 147.105. Is that a linked set system or just something else?
Speaker A: No, that is the W6 GRC repeater system up in Orland. Wonderful coverage. Anybody on frequency that represents that repeater can drop, come on back. Okay. Yeah, that is the. That's the W6 GRC repeater up in Orland. They cover all the way up to the Oregon border. And they are, I think pl tone comes to mind. I think it's 110.9 or 3. I'm trying to remember what it is off the top of my head here. But yes, they are out of Orland and they just started joining the Coffee Breaknet and other nets, I think about a week or two ago. So welcome to them.
Speaker D: Okay, thanks very much.
Speaker C: Appreciate the info. Katie 6hoin
Speaker A: and I'm amazed with their signal coverage up here in Meadow Vista, California. I am receiving them full scale. So wonderful coverage. All right, I am qrt nature calls and I am starving. Have a great day. Joe73ai6us.
Speaker C: Have a great day.
Speaker E: Brian as well. And Joe. Yes, Brian's correct. It's 1.47105, up 600 kilohertz. And the magic buzz to get in is 110.9.
Speaker C: Okay, thank you very much. Kd6h1.
Speaker E: Not a problem. Kg6nlw. I'm wondering patrick into dyi still on here.
Speaker B: N2dyi. Kg6nl.
Speaker C: Can anybody copy me or give me any feedback? Who was that?
Speaker E: I think I stepped on you right
Speaker A: at the All Star side. Rf.
Speaker B: You sound great, dad.
Speaker C: All right, so if this is KN6WQ on the Rattail 950 Pro. So I'm transmitting through the Cuban Cigar node now instead of my showering out at home. So I was wondering if the audio is indeed different. If it is, then it's a node problem and not so much a radio problem.
Speaker B: WU6H. Well now it sounds like you're talking into a fan. Best way I can put it, you're not losing anything. But I will say that the audio quality is different.
Speaker C: So it does sound node related.
Speaker B: Maybe a pre emphasis thing. Hey, Ryan.
Speaker C: Sorry about that. I just completely disconnected myself up all.
Speaker A: Sorry.
Speaker C: I had the inverter on in the background. So let me get reconnected and if you got a minute, maybe you can give me some more info. Is that cool?
Speaker B: 100%, man. Sounds like your APS is beeping.
Speaker C: Yeah, the inverter on. So there was that. So let me see what I can do real quick.
Speaker A: Stand by one second. This is AI6US. I'm just going to throw out a carrier for a moment. Ryan, if you can tell me if you're hearing that same sound because I'm hearing on both you and dan. This is AI6US with blank carrier for 35 seconds. Back to you, Ryan.
Speaker B: Qsl. Brian. Yeah, it's, it's. It's exactly what you're hearing. I hear it on you. You as well.
Speaker A: Yeah. Let's see in five. Jef, Jeff, are you in the vault right now? Okay, I'll let you guys go. I had heard that same tone on both you and Dan. And so it sounds like something coming out of the repeater. The only thing I can think of is Jeff is in there working on mess cord this morning and I'm not sure if he's working on anything right now. Ai6us. I'll be back to monitoring.
Speaker B: Jeff is actually laying on the ground electrocuted underneath the rack, holding a big metal wrench in his hand. So that's why? He cannot answer.
Speaker A: I'm going to have to take my phone out of the Duvetyne bag to call him. Something's definitely going on AI6US. I am holding my phone in my hand. I am not going to social media. I am making a phone call.
Speaker C: Well, I guess at this point, Ryan, I guess we should wait till the repeater clears up, because it doesn't matter which way I sound, right?
Speaker B: No, I think your RF sounds great. We're just hearing a little hamster getting squeezed in the background every three seconds. This is what I'm used to hearing
Speaker A: you on through a node.
Speaker B: So I think it was the node that you had checked in that was a little sharp and a little high.
Speaker C: See, I did change the volume settings on it, and I went really high
Speaker B: with it, so that might be one. So I think I maxed out the
Speaker C: volume on the radio itself on the Shari node. So on the Shari node, you have to, like, there's a, you know, an S8,818 menu that you can go into and set the frequency on the ctcss and then the volume that it puts it out into the. Into the, you know, the PI. So I think I set that to
Speaker B: eight, and I should have set it to, like, six.
Speaker C: So that's probably. Probably what the problem is. So I'm still on RF right now because for whatever reason, the Cuban cigar node wants to be a pain in the button won't let me connect. So, yeah, okay, I'll try to turn it down and see how it works.
Speaker A: I just.
Speaker C: I wasn't home to try to jump over to Patrick's Ferret note and see, you know, what Brian was hearing. But I. I want it to be right, so that. That's what matters the most. So I'll try to turn the volume down on it and see if that changes.
Speaker B: Thanks, Brian.
Speaker A: And spent over time.
Speaker B: Thank you for being on the ready with my frustration. I was able to take those light assemblies out because you can't just reach back there and pull a blinker out.
Speaker C: You got it.
Speaker B: You got to take the assembly out, and then you got to take a T10 and then the Phillips and then this and then. And then there's a retaining clip. And, man, just replace a bolt blinker light. Good Lord. And then, all said and done, the right headlight, it looks. It. I feel like it's a chameleon because it's, like, pointed up to the right
Speaker A: and
Speaker B: it's always something, dude. But I can't put a spacer back there because that that sucker's gonna melt, so I think I'm gonna leave it. Anyway, just wanted to thank you again for being on the ready and replying back to me.
Speaker A: W. You said.
Speaker F: Hey, Dan and Ryan, I got a comment for you. Wa.
Speaker C: Is there a comment in there?
Speaker B: Yeah, it's Jerry. Go, Jerry.
Speaker F: Yeah, Dan and Ryan, this is for you guys. I read an article just this morning about BMW that has created a program proprietary screw, the intention of which is to prevent what the company is calling unauthorized access to the engine and components so that they can't be repaired by unauthorized people. In other words, they're trying to make
Speaker D: it so that
Speaker B: node 51018 disconnected.
