Kk6vzd mobile we6a x n repeater kk6vzd ko6bgy. Good evening. Good evening. Hey, I got those pictures you sent. That's pretty cool old stuff. Yeah. I actually haven't been saving for the last couple days so I could use that older razor because while it is still usable, it's not that much more aggressive. But it. If I don't pay attention, I will definitely leave some more. Yeah, yeah. Got to pay attention to those. What was one of the improvements to those was where you could have. There was an adjustment on the handle that would actually, I think it would.

2025-11-22 01:07:12 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Adjust the opening for the blade so you could expose more or, you know, protect more of it. Yeah, I actually have a couple of those as well. Two different styles. They're usually a knob underneath. And then the other one is actually different base plates that you push out. I won't. It wouldn't be till everyone else's ears on that. But that razor that has the extensible plates is actually made in the usa. I got the. I wanted the stainless steel version, but it was too expensive. But it was about 50 bucks. And, I mean, it'll last you a lifetime. Yeah, you got. These are made in Germany. I have blades made in Germany. I have a soap that's made in Germany, but I don't have any razors made in Germany. I would have thought that. Let's see.

2025-11-22 01:08:12 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

I think the Germans probably would have made some worth having. And maybe the British, you know, because they had pretty good steel industry. And the United States, actually, they do. During World War I, each of those three made a shaving kit that was issued to the Poulters as general issue. And you can still buy them on ebay. If I buy any of those, it's just going to be for look, because most of those are pretty rust at the moment. You ever see the movie north by Northwest with Terry Grant? Cannot say that I have. I won't spoil the movie, but there's one part of it where he's traveling and he's got a shave and he goes into this, this.

2025-11-22 01:09:12 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Restaurant in the railroad station and he nicked the little shaving kit from the train that he was on. The razor and the blades themselves are about half size of what a normal was in. So it shows him trying to shave with his tiny little razor. Kosa Yeah, I think I've heard someone tell me about that before because it sounded pretty familiar. Hey, on a totally separate note, I have some work related they say if you have a minute, some work related news drama. Oh boy. I thought you left that behind you. Well, I thought too, but I'm being harassed by HR. They sent me on the 19th.

2025-11-22 01:10:12 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Came about for a drug and alcohol screening randomly, and the only reason they gave me was, we want to make sure you're okay. They repeated that like a thousand times. That's an obvious over exaggeration, but I can't even count how many times they were like, we just want to make sure you're okay. That's not a valid reason for drug and alcohol screening, but it's all going to. The alcohol part came back negative because I don't drink at work, and the other stuff, I don't do drugs, so that's good, too. I'm just waiting for HR to call back and say, hey, the results are in. Oh boy. Just say, thanks. I should. I'm thinking of a couple other ways to put that, but I'm not going to share it on here. Well, yes, well.

2025-11-22 01:11:12 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Yeah, I know. You know, you can probably. All you can do is just say, well, okay, and just go on from there. Yeah, I'm not doing that. I'm being harassed. I'm, I'm fault. They, they, they put the bait out there and they're gonna ride the wave that got put out there because of it. Because the last thing the guy said before I got out of the truck to go collect my things for the day because yeah, they sent me home and you're getting paid until you come back, but whatever. But the last thing he said was do not mention this to anyone. I'm like, that's not gonna happen. I'm gonna talk about it however much I want. I wonder what that was all about. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. But it's also why I'm not talking about it either because.

2025-11-22 01:12:12 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Just going to wait and see how that goes. Yeah. The last two guys that I'm going to say were invited to leave, I know both of them were under very strict orders to not discuss it with anybody before all of the paperwork and all, you know, was all over and done with. They wouldn't. Didn't want them discussing their situation with us. Probably under the threat of if you do discuss it, then you know, the arrangements that we've made with you for leaving are null and void. That's well understood, but I'm not under any circumstance like that. Well, that's good. I.

I got on with CalPERS and watched a video on how to apply for retirement. Hey, that's good. I wonder who they're billing that to. Isn't that shouldn't that be obligated to be offered already? But it I mean, I haven't done it myself yet, but I've heard of a couple other coworkers that have, and it's an entire process. Well, I got an email from them. You know, hey, you might want to if you're getting close to retirement, you might want to attend this class. So I took an hour at work and did I didn't tell them. I just did. You know, I figured that that's as much as much a part of work as anything, the retirement process. So, yeah, I'm going to do those things. And, you know, I'm not taking the time.

Hi, ralph. W702f in phoenix. Good after morning. How are you? Good. What's going on in Vegas? Are you climbing mountains? No. We got a couple feet of Snow on Potassi, so 88 repeaters still on my bench. I was out of town a couple days this week, so just got done doing stuff at my mom's house. I'm run by Harbor Freight and pick up a Pelican case for that new VNA I bought and that's about it. What are you up to? You've got a new what did you say you got? Remember that little Nano VNA I bought a couple years ago? Both works really great for antenna, stuff like that. But it doesn't work with a dam sweep duplexers because the update.

2025-11-22 19:26:53 UTC 60.0s · GEARS W TX (146.115 MHz)

Rates too slow. They have an update for it. I was talking to Bob TMP about that. He got. And I bought one of those. It goes from 10 meg to 6 point, some gig and vector, you know, vector analyzer, network analyzer, whatever. But it. The sweep rate's really, really good on it. So it's. It's perfect for sweeping duplexers. So I bought one of those. But it comes with a kit with connectors, termination things, and everything else. I want to get a pelican case from Harbor Freight to put it in, and that way I can put everything inside there and take it to the site and not have to worry about wrecking anything or have it still flying all over the place. Oh, yeah, I remember now. In the old days, tuning duplexers was a tedious task and very slow with signal generators. Wow, that's great.

2025-11-22 19:27:53 UTC 60.0s · GEARS W TX (146.115 MHz)

But you haven't been changing frequencies, so you shouldn't have to mess with duplexes, have you? Well, you know, every now and again, if you got a problem. We had a problem with something. All right, we had 10 have a problem with the dam, one at 88 and five two to my frequency anymore. But, you know, inevitably I want to do something and I don't have my 1500 with me because it was so damn heavy. And that 1200 doesn't have a. That's why it'd be cool to just have this, like, part of my normal sight kit that I take with me in case I need it anyways, like, you know, like I said, they're easy to tune if you get the ifr, because the way they work. But, you know, would rather not have to lug that to the mountaintop, all those things. Oh, yeah, yeah. I understand that. That. Yeah, I kind of missed the veins going up there and messing around with stuff. It looks challenging.

2025-11-22 19:28:53 UTC 60.0s · GEARS W TX (146.115 MHz)

And fun. I remember when we, you know, put the building up and they got the tower and all the antennas and stuff. Climbing towers. And I remember climbing towers without a seat belt. Without a. I mean, a safety belt. And when you're young, you know, you do things that are crazy. Yeah. Man. With. So, anyways, other than that, that's about it. I'm gonna. Next week, I'm gonna probably call and make hotel reservations for. For Yima. Get that done. Probably stay at the home. Two suites that we stayed at last time. It was a nice place. Breakfast and everything was included. Not too far from the fairground. Okay. I. I don't know if I'm gonna make it or not. Lot depends. I'm not into traveling, but I'll think about it.

Lee hasn't told me 100% if he's going or not. He's gonna try to figure that out this weekend, but I'm gonna make the reservations next week. One way or the other, I'm definitely gonna go. Bob's going. Tnp. Bob's going. Yeah. I like the social. The social interaction part of the night too, but some of those sessions. Yeah, I remember a couple of sessions I went to last time that I was sitting there listening. I'm thinking, you don't. You don't. The crap you're talking about. The guy was totally wrong, but I. Well that's interesting I still have a comment Hypera I don't really use the Hytera much it's very hard to use It's a great radio but it's not ham friendly where the ICOM is but yeah.

Yeah no this is a Dstar it's Kenwood's Tri Bander it's going to be two 220 and 440 Dstar and you know based how good good the audio quality is on the Kenward HD I have for D Star it's I mean far superior to icon and this icon 880 I have in the seat it's been a piece of crap from day one but anyways that'll be my I'm anxious to check that radio out it's probably going to be 3 to 5ft and and that somebody Tony. Tony Marson forgot the name of the company but they have a company that he represents as a sales rep for that they make a tri bad antenna now this two two 2440 so I will probably pick that up there too anyways if it's available.

I know it's a nano radio, you know, analog and it's got GPS and all the other happy crap in an APRS and stuff like that. But no, it's a pull up tri band analog dstar radio. Okay. Will it do All Star? Of course. All Stars analog. That's interesting. I'll have to think about that. It's 5100. It's pretty dated in the car, but the way the radios are mine.
