K06bgy monitoring wb6axn repeater. Say bgy. N6iwh ko6bgy. How you doing, Pete? It is cold and not clear skies over here, but that's the expected for this time of year. But yeah, it is rather on the cold side. You know, I actually hate it. Really? It seems to me. I don't know, but the. For example, in the summer the heat is just getting intense and now the cold seems like it just goes right through your clothes. Bites you when there. You know what I mean? Yeah. I doubled up on the socks today with my shoes.

2025-12-12 01:05:10 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

And that seemed to work pretty good. But usually if my ears get cold or my feet get wet, I'm really grumpy, You know? I'm glad you came on. I want to put a bug in your ear. Okay, now, you can take it. Leave it. I don't care. But over here, every month, the Gears Club has a little breakfast at this place, which I love. See, I don't know, Golden Skillet or something. But would you ever think about coming up and it's just the guys, you know, real ham hanging out, saying hello. About 10, 12 people. They're all real nice. Yeah, I just got to write it down in a spot that I'll remember, because my, if it's.

2025-12-12 01:06:10 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Not in front of me. I don't remember it. But hey, I believe it was years that I checked into. Do they have a morning net on Monday? I. I don't think so. What is. What is there Tuesday night or something? Tuesday night? 7:30. I don't know. Hey. Woo. Yeah. Yeah, just consider it. And you know, I was thinking Christmas coming up might be a nice time to, you know, have an eyeball cue, so they call it. Yeah, definitely. I'll have to send you an email so we can coordinate that. What? Yeah, but I was on an HD in the kitchen on Monday.

K6lnk system 36, snow mountain range.

2025-12-12 01:07:10 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Morning because I was off work, and it was either gears or bark, one of the two I've never checked in on before. And I was scanning through, and I heard people talking, and I was able to get through. I was like, that's pretty nice. You got a couple of new bow fangs or you got new antennas, or what did you say? A couple days ago, I had ordered a set of the Baofeng UV 5 mini, 5R mini or 5 mini. Anyway, I accidentally ordered two sets, so I ended up with four. So I've already given two away. They're tiny little things. They're about the size of those little bubble wraps or bubble packing, bubble packs of radios. You get it like Costco for camping and stuff. But they seem to be pretty decent. The stock antenna, I got a good signal from inside the house.

2025-12-12 01:08:10 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

But boy, they packaged those antennas into a small pack. So imagine having two Nagoya 771s come out like confetti when you're not expecting it. It could have poked my eye out. Yeah, I've got a couple of those hot rod antennas, the ones I bought years ago. They're long, they work great. They seem to also work on GMRs. But the trouble is, in the car, you got this long, you know, you're poking your neighbor in the eye. Hey, man. Yeah, it's not dash friendly, that's for sure. I really like this. I think it's a QYT8900 something or other. It's a tri band. In the mobile, I only have a dual band antenna mag mount on top. I don't want to have an antenna form on top of my car.

2025-12-12 01:09:10 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Man 2 meters. And I don't even use 70 centimeters at all. It's mainly 2 meters, so that worked just fine. Well, you sound really good. Now, I assume you're in the mobile, but you're close to the machine. You're right under it no matter where you go, right? Yeah. I'm on a Baofeng UV 17R or 15R. It's one of the first USB rechargeable ones. It's a orange brick. Not too bad with an agua antenna. But in regards to. Man, one second. Okay. My medicine is making me cough anyway. Yeah, on a clear day, I can see.

2025-12-12 01:10:10 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

The antenna mask on the buttes from my front porch, so I. I would say that's pretty close to being under it, in my opinion. GMRS channel is there too, and I. I don't know if it's the same site. It's well maintained, good machine, you know, digital peel. So you have to have a GMRS rig. The other GMRS repeater, channel 30 is in Orville, and a lot of hams get in over there. You ought to at least listen. It's 462-725. Sorry, I'm outside and coughing my lungs up here. Yeah, I have that frequency written down on my desk there, so I'm gonna.

2025-12-12 01:11:10 UTC 59.4s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Program that in and see what I can listen to. I'm not even going to bother with the Cls or anything because I'm not going to transmit on it with these ham radios though, because I'm a good law abiding citizen. But we almost had a fight at work the other day that was interesting, watching people fight over. I shouldn't say it's not funny, it really isn't. But I mean, they were fighting over something petty. I think it was like a couple bags of recycling. But hey, that's. That's the other person's livelihood, so it's not funny at all. Actually, I take back what I said. I would feel pissed if someone came up and took my radio out of my hand right now so that that was their belonging. But anyway, for the most part, work week going pretty good. Coming along pretty fast. Tomorrow's Friday and I'm ever so excited for the time tomorrow, so that way I can put my feet up. Hey, I timed out the repeater. I haven't done that in a minute.

2025-12-12 01:12:11 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

You're good. I heard you say you're gonna put your feet up. You know, knowing how to relax is really a quality of art. I love to kick back in a recliner and get the remote, the mount in one hand and the remote in the other. And. Hey, ham radio over here with my third arm. Hello, CQ, CQ6IWH. Okay, well, I better go while I can still breathe here. This sage I'm burning over here, making my lungs cough. Anyway, Pete, great talking to you. Ko6dgy. I'll be clearing the final feed, Beef, stay warm. And, yeah, I'll definitely entertain that idea of coming up for a breakfast up that way.

2025-12-12 01:13:10 UTC 39.4s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Hey, you know, I mean, nice people. I have a couple things that I'd like to give somebody. Equipment. You know, kind of looking around, you might want to think about that. Some people kind of don't really under understand the concept of, you know, there's no obligation. Anyway, later. 73. Good. Weapon of contest. M6iWhere.

2025-12-12 01:15:17 UTC 59.3s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Sometimes I. I get in trouble with my mouth. Like, you know, go to Costco or something, whatever. Start talking to people. All those old guys. Hey, Yeah. Conversation keeps the mind from getting tough. You know? I'm thinking about dinner and wondering, by the way, have you noticed the price of food? Yes. It's gone up a lot. Some of it's starting to come back down a little for some reason.

2025-12-12 01:16:19 UTC 58.8s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Well, you know, diet is important, especially as we get older. You know, protein, good source of protein. But the money. Oh, God, it reminds me of. Hey, don't turn on the air conditioner. It's going to cost too much. Okay, so we'll just sit here and sweat to this. Yeah, it's kind of hard to do that with food, you know? You can't really sit there and starve. I could, but prefer not to. Well, what's good? You headed home? Looks like 10 after 5, something like that. All the clocks have a different time. So where do you head at home?

2025-12-12 01:17:18 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Yeah. Yeah. Finally heading home? I don't know, about five miles left. House. Traffic normal for this time of day. Not too bad. I live in Chico and it used to be, you know, pretty smooth. Commute down to the Bay Area, no big deal. Now it takes three hours to get to, like, from Chico to Davis. The traffic. Yeah. Yep. Depending on the time of the day, it's getting worse and worse, getting worser and worse. Well, can you tell me in a few minutes we have here and.

2025-12-12 01:18:17 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

I found the horn. What's going on Good in your life? Did you get a bonus at work or. Doesn't have to be money, but did you find $100 on the bus or anything? Haven't talked to the boss yet to see what the bonus is going to be this year. Usually we get one. Last weekend I went over to Elk Creek, if you know where that is, the other side of the west side of Williams, and went to a shooting school for long range shooting. You know, I was going to ask you what caliber is this? I was shooting at 6.5 Creedmoor. Oh yeah, I hear good things about that. I did.308 for years and years with a friend. Loaded.

2025-12-12 01:19:17 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

In the Bay Area. It was fun. You know, actually, I enjoyed bench rest. I mean, if I smoked, I would have had a cigarette at the same time. You know, cup of coffee, bang. Look down the spotting scope. That's exciting stuff. Yeah. Looking at your, you know, all of the parameters of your system and your rounds that you're building and everything else, trying to get the best accuracy out of your equipment that you can. I'll come right out and say I used to be a good shot. Handgun. Shotgun. Oh, long rifle. How about you? Are you or. Hey.

2025-12-12 01:20:17 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

Well, six out of ten at a thousand yards this weekend, if that's a good shot, I guess. Oh, great. Well, you know, you work at it. You're good. That's the payoff right there. Now, do you do your reloads? I have the equipment. I have not started to dig deep into. I know how to reload my rounds, but not digging deep into getting the precision that I could get out of it yet, put that way. Oh, yeah. Some of these guys that reload, they're freaky. They count grain. You know, they're going, wait, hey, no, no. It has to be right. But I guess, you know, boat tail, they get the right powder, it flies better.

2025-12-12 01:21:17 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

You know, I've got a Mauser with a long barrel. It's a Chilean. We used to load that and he said less powder, but that thing was very accurate. You could shoot through the whole bench wrist sitting down, you know. Ironsight. Yeah. Yep. It all depends on where you want to spend your energy of your reload, you know, do you spend it in making the rounds the right exact length that your gun needs? Is it the exact amount of powder that it likes? The harmonics, there's so many things that go into it. Well, do you have your ccw? I do not. Haven't really seen the need concealed carrying.

2025-12-12 01:22:17 UTC 60.0s · WD6AXM TX (146.085 MHz)

In my current lifestyle. I mean, you mean that you're. You've got a bad look or something? You look at them and they go, oh, okay, I'm sorry. Yeah, I did 10 years of that. And then over there at the Twin Cities Rod and Gun Club, I got to know this guy pretty well. Well, did few courses and, you know, close quarters combat. Never had to take it out or use it. Although a guy did walk up on me at the atm. I didn't do anything, but he chickened out. Yeah, a lot of it's your. Like you said, your posture and your handling of a. Usually with nothing.

A weapon. Well, what surprised me is I was more relaxed, like driving in the car. I mean, people run me off the road. Okay, thank you. Have a good day. I mean, I didn't care. I mean, if they want to make an issue of it. Oh, Yeah. I mean, there's. Things get escalated out of hand that they shouldn't in this day of age. Like you said, people don't know how to just relax and take life. I have friends. I mentioned the future, and they feel like people will come together, that out of need, we will develop a sense of community, helping each other.

I kind of think people are going to be shooting down at the gas station when they figure out there's no gas. WP6A X N repeater. Yeah, I hope we don't get back to that. We're that short on fuel that it gets to a fight, it. Hey, you're not Mormon, are you? Nope. Yeah, I'm not either. But, you know, they, they have a plan. They're, they're, you know, teaching everybody how to survive. And in a way, it's kind of a good. I guess in Utah, it's more prevalent in the communities and how they help each other.

On 10 this weekend? Well, John just said it starts at 4. I'm not really a contester, so I'm not really up on the name of the. I think I heard a little bit about it, but I think it is happening today. This weekend. Okay. Yeah, I'm not a. I'm not a contester either. Anyway, I'm currently north of Elk Grove. My home qth is Walnut Creek, and where I'm with a few guys, we have our dirt bikes and we're sort of lost. We're looking for a road that will take us up to the BLM part of the world where we can do some exploration. Well, there's two ways that are used, generally speaking, as you're coming north. One is before you get to Clear Lake,

2025-12-12 18:12:06 UTC 60.0s · GEARS W TX (146.115 MHz)

Is called now is N6UTV was. That was the first time I really ran into him. He was exploring that area. And it goes way north from prior to getting to Clear lake off of 20, way deep in there. And then the other way is to go in by Willows and go way deep in on the other side of that mountain. Yeah, that's what we're looking for. And we rode there several years ago, and one guy said, oh, I've got the tracks from when we were here last. And so he said, well, even you're leading. And this. There's just enough fog where all of our landmarks are sort of disappeared. It's starting to burn off. But.

2025-12-12 18:13:06 UTC 60.0s · GEARS W TX (146.115 MHz)

We go from thick to thin. Yeah, I've actually got 10amps of solar coming in through the fog and tree limbs. The sun is still a little low, but, yeah, you're hitting it just right because starting in a few days, there's a huge rainstorm. It's going to go on and on and on. So this is probably the last chance you'll have for at least a week. I don't know how long this storm's going to go on, and it's saying there's a fair amount of precipitation going to come down in the areas I've looked at so far. Yeah, I heard the same thing. And I think it's supposed to start on Tuesday, which is good because I've got to take care of a few things outdoors at my house.

2025-12-12 18:14:06 UTC 60.0s · GEARS W TX (146.115 MHz)

So we could use it. You know, we've had a nice long dry spell. If nothing else, it's going to wash away all this fog. Where I live, I don't think it's been above 53 for, I don't know, two or three weeks. Yeah, it's very cold today and I elected to spend most of it inside. But I'm looking up Stonyford to see what it's saying when it's coming in there. I've been up on that mountain when large groups have shown up in that area of off roaders have shown up in that area. Quite interesting. Are you referring to St. John? Yeah. Most time that that's where I go. But the, the folks around there go.

2025-12-12 18:15:06 UTC 60.0s · GEARS W TX (146.115 MHz)

Some of them go south from that road, basically south from Stonyford. And there's a whole other area there other than St. John's yeah, I'm very, very familiar with that area. So we're. Yeah, we're, of course, going to be north of Stony Fork. We're going to check this area out anyway. All right. Well, have a good weekend. Name here, by the way, is Bill, and hope to talk to you again. W6TR. Great to talk to you. By the way. The system, of course, up there is solar powered. So long, long. Storms like this can really make a difference in solar. I run solar here, and so far, the way these storms have been working for me is I get a little.

2025-12-12 18:16:06 UTC 60.0s · GEARS W TX (146.115 MHz)

Little bit of a flash of sun, just enough to catch up. But I can catch up more quickly here than the repeater can because it's got a lot of batteries and only a few pounds, so takes a lot. And plus, the fog and high cloud stuff, you know, tend to hang in there longer than they do in some places. But. All right, have a great time. Be careful. Okay. And real quick, what is your TTH at the moment? I'm southwest of Reading, California, kind of in the boondock southwest of Redding, California. I've been up on Shasta, but only the 10,000ft, just to explore. And. And I've been all over the Trinity Alps. Great place. I love it. Talk to you later. Nthgrg.

Wp6axm receiver wa1ner. This is W6ail. W6ail.wa7rr. Good. Good afternoon. Good to hear you out there. Good afternoon to you. Yeah, you've got a nice signal. Thanks. Yeah, I haven't heard you on the radio for a while. I don't get on here much either, but I was monitoring. I'm in the computer room, so I thought I'd get in here and say hello. Wait for Mr. Whitter to get back to you if he's out there. But take care. Howard to talk to you. Same here.

My gosh, I haven't heard in years. Actually, I haven't been on two meters in so long I didn't even know if I could flame the radio up. Yeah, I leave mine on all the time, 24 7. But I'm in and out of the computer room, so I don't always talk on it. I monitor a little bit here and there whenever I'm in here. But I heard your id, so I wanted to say hello to you. Roger that, and thanks for the return. I'm gonna put it back to bed. I've got a lot of things to do, but nice to hear somebody's on the other end. W6AI all clear. And I'll just QRT for a while. All right, Sounds good. Yep, your radio is working fine. It still works and you're able to turn it on and operate it, so you're good to go. Have a good one. WA7R&R clear 73.

87 nhi and 17. There you are. 87 NH. Okay, we're all packed up and getting ready to hit down the mountain. So successful day every 14. Well, that's good news. All right. I didn't want to bother you. Wanted to check in. You see it coming down the mountain? 87 anytime. Okay. You're talking. I can tell you're talking to an angel. You're at the house or outside? I'm inside. Yeah. That noise is really still there? A little bit, but it's down a lot, so. Okay, good. Should I change to a different channel? No, no, no, no. You're fine where you're at. I just. Ever since they changed those frequencies up at angel or whatever they did up there, just really kept the noise down. Okay. Anyway.
