Hey, man, how's it going? Heading. Heading home for the day, for the weekend. Oh, you work okay. A lot of people took the whole week off. Kids are not in school, you know. So what's good? Anything? Nah, good enough. Try and catch up on crap. I got a business trip next week to go to. I'm gonna be out of town Wednesday through Friday, so trying to get some stuff done. Heading out of work towards the west part of the valley. And the mountaintops are all socked in with nasty stuff. Looks like we should be getting some snow or rain up there at our repeater site. Yeah, well, we'll call you Fog. Rain. We had a crapload of fog this morning, man. We never get that in Vegas. Right. I left the house, it was a little bit foggy. I started going to work and there were spots where, man, it had like 50 yards of disability. That was a lot. It burned off pretty quick, but that's not typical for us. Oh, yeah, California. I5 sometimes you get out there, I don't know the actual conditions, but, you know, people are still going 65, 70. You can't see the thing. Yeah, I had a lot of that back in Wisconsin. Not really fog. It was, you know, we get snowstorms and you couldn't see. Kind of almost you passed your freaking foot on a car. That was when I lived in New Mexico years ago. We used to get horrendous sandstorms that would just completely brown things out to where you couldn't see anything. You know, I have to comment about the weather in the Bay Area. Always nice wintertime, warm teacher of weather. Summertime, there's always a booze coming in, you know, through the Golden Gate. That's why there's so many people that want to live there. But then you get up here in the real world, like places like Chico, where there's so seasons really brutal one and brutal too. Yeah. You know, here it's oppressive in the summertime, you know, July, August, September, you know, 115, 120 degrees. I thought a lot of people were getting the hell out of campers. This is because of just all the vagrants and things being shut down, Crime and crap like that. Or am I thinking about something different? You know, you're on the same page, I guess. It's pretty much all over. You know, Chico here, where I live, they don't tolerate a lot of homeless people, and therefore, sometimes they give out tickets to homeowners who help. It's almost like, you know, don't feed the bears. Bears the carriage. You can't help the homeless. We got. We got more than our share here in Vegas, too. They like to. They like to live underneath the underpasses, overpasses for the highways. And there's a couple of spots downtown, the naked city area, right where they just lined up block after block after block. I don't understand why Metro doesn't just round them up, but I don't know. I'm sure there's reasons, unless I'm far from an expert, but you think they would just get rid of them. But anyways, I'm where I got to be, man. So I'll stay 73 up. I'll be on later this night, this evening or this weekend. Some. I hear you. IWA 10 7, CND, Vegas, quick. All right. Be real. M6IWH.

Los Angeles link up. Well, hello la from wd68, kv east in palace. I do. Hey, Jeff. Well, that came in really well. It almost sounded like an echo link. Yes, and yes. If you're talking about me, I'm on All Star. If you're talking about the LA link, pay no attention to the man behind the curtains. I was testing on the bench here at home. So what you heard was an income through an All Star connecting to our, Connecting to the network. Just testing things, but it's looking good for the near future. We may have a solid lake there by the end of the month. Wow. I might even take that ride with you guys. That sounds pretty cool. Yep. Give it a good old dry run before deploying it. Yeah, I'm just going the extra mile here because we're putting that All Star down there, you know, this will be the initial installation and working and all the doors are opening and closing and so on. So I've got a spare 70 to 330 here hooked up to it and it's on the air. Excellent. Yeah, well, looking forward to it. Be nice having the Southland back in the picture. Yeah, I gotta do. I'm gonna turn off my audio path or I hear myself and I can't think what I'm saying. Yeah, I, I, it surprised me when I powered it on and it came up and ID on the net. But I went, no, that's what it's supposed to be doing because it's on and ready. But I need to do a little bit more programming. I need to put in an RF All Star toggle so we can go back and forth if we need to and so on. And we can figure out where we want to break it between like 19 or, you know, up here in the bay in 31 down there. I think a good spot to break it so that everything sounds clean coming and going. But yeah, it's looking pretty good. Congrats, man. Yeah, that's nice. It's happening sooner than advertised, so that's awesome. What was advertised? It's only been a few years. I heard it too. And it took me about, I don't know, 30 seconds to rewind the tape and say, did I hear LA link up? And it was more solid than I've ever heard. It started to do the Scooby Doo thing and then Mike, you came on and Frank and his it, we talked to him. Dr. Unit. Yeah. Yeah, that was, that was weird because I don't, you know, pay a whole lot of attention. You hear it all the time. Stop that's up. Blah, blah, blah. And then all of a sudden said, la, I was busy doing stuff. And then all of a sudden with the brake. Whoa, wait a minute. Is that what I thought I heard? Anyway. All right, well, as they say, good work. You got to keep up the good work and cross your fingers and. Yeah, like, we got to also replace the yaggy link antenna, which hopefully is on its way to us with a new one that looks like it got ice bombarded. And one office to do, get an ethernet circuit hooked up and then do some alarm wiring for the. For the power supply and batteries and stuff like that, which we've been out of all these years since we got put in, so it'll be plenty of work to do. Assembling a work. Man, I probably want to take that one with you guys. It would be a blast. Well, it's going to be in the middle of the week, so you'd have to take work off. But just an FYI, I'm driving down 19th, which is Monday, just flying down into 19, and he'll turn around and come back after a few days. And I'm gonna stay for a convention down there. So I do have a room with an extra bed, so you're welcome. But probably get in the way there. Yeah. Our projects are wrapped up and, you know, on time and successfully. Everything's working really smooth. The future. So, yes, I can probably pull it off. All right, well, think about it and let me know and we can talk later if you want to really do something and see if it'll all work out logistically, More the merrier. Men, we. We work well together. We get done, man. Don't. Yes and yes. Yeah, no, I mean, that'd be great, man. That'd be fun. And actually, you know, maybe get something done or really waste a bunch of time, one or the other. Right, Right. Yeah. You know, the reason that her Ms. Benefit made 12 grand, everybody followed you, man. That's gone so far. But, hey, this time I promise I won't keep you up all night. You know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Right. Remember that when we were up at. Where were we? Six. God, forget. Yeah, I remember back in the day and, oh, hey, you remember this guy? And blah, blah, blah, for I don't know how many hours, a bunch of little girls. Sound like my daughters and their friends and they're having their sleepovers. Man. That's what I was going to say a slumber party, you know, except we have to get up and go to work or training or whatever the Heck it part. What the hell? What were you doing? I can't even remember. Oh, crap. I don't remember either. Training. That's kind of in the back of my mind, but maybe that's what it was. Who knows? All right. At least I'm not the only one with a fading memory. All right, well, I'm going to get back to work here and let's just continue on and. Yeah, yeah. And the paid pause is following me like a machine gun today, man. Doing a number on the system. Yeah, you know, it seems to be heavy on my link path here from 11:2 because I think I'm just kind of peeking over the hill or something. But anyway. All right. And Jeff, good. Any. Any other further interrupt? Not too much. Have to turn my local speaker off here. Not too much. I'm going to go sit and do a few pieces of progress. It should be pretty much silent except at some point else because it will announce or on rl, that kind of stuff. Maybe tonight, maybe not. Yeah. Had you for just an instant there. We don't have to go. Yeah, got to get online and make all my reservations. I'll do that in just a little bit. Okay. All right. Yeah, it was. It was so full quieting, you know, once I put two and two together and I was like, what the hell? This weather should make it worse if it was even working. And it's like, you know. Cause this camper stopped it. I mean, I'm just like. Yeah. My brain was trying. Having trouble wrapping. Wrapping it all around. So anyway. All right, good one. Get it. Talk to you later in 672. Dude, it's just ducting, man. But it's the wrong time of year. Remember back I used to duck into la, had his repeater up there on Vaca. There was. The ones in LA are upside down from us. Right. Remember when the things would lock up into a loop, sit there and howl? Yeah, that's the word I wanted to use. My brain was going blank. I do remember some of that stuff. Same on that for going upside down? Yeah, pretty much. Oh, well, all right. Catch you guys later. Drop the ball, gang. Back on the floor and jkv. All right. 10, 6, 70. Good evening, folks. I just walked through the room here. Is there anything going on that I can or need your help with? I'll let Jeff jump in after me here, but he threw Mike and me for a loop. I heard LA link up really clean and audaciously and took me, I don't know, 30 seconds for my brain to just Put the brakes on and say, what the hell did I just hear? And then Mike beat me to it and got on the air and started, you know, doing the RCA Victor dog thing. So anyhow, Jeff is got the All Star hooked up to the, to the test jig controller and doing work. So I will let him jump in there if anything is needed. And I'm going to go back to the background here, so. And hello, Tim. You know, like Tom said, I'm just burning things down on the bench here and I hope all star nodes 31 up to 7230 so I can go in. Well, I'm going to jump up on port one, but right now it's going in, it's doing its thing. So the Santiago node is actually connected. If Tom, if you go to daca, if you go to the super mine, you'll see Santiago node shows activity. It's not the bottom, it's not at the bottom of the list. It's never, never connected. Showing the connect time and stuff. So things are looking pretty good. Ken, to answer your question, I think there's one or two things we need to tweak on the SD card. I take the time is best Central time, and I heard a time announcement, but I don't know if that came from this old All Star or 7 is still doing that, but only locally. So I don't know where I heard it come from, but I'm just kind of keeping track. Oh, okay. Well, I don't specifically remember of giving that Santiago node at time zone, but I mean that's kind of, you know, that's kind of part of the list of things to do. And that should have popped up so I should have, should have grabbed it the right one. And yeah, I see that 753, the Santiago heat up 15 minutes ago. Okay, well, it doesn't look like you have foot boarding there at your house for that, for that pie. So I can't get into that supermodel. If you could figure that out and do that, I could get in there and see if I can make some adjustments and look at that time. And then you said something else. Oh, you. I noticed, I was going to correct you on something. I noticed that you were calling the Vaca kind of the main hub or that it was connected to Vaka. None of these connect to Vaca directly. All of these connect to that cloud server. It's not the Algo connect to the cloud server. Just like, just like Vaca and just like seven. Yeah, they basically all connect to the Cloud, So they're not tobacco anymore. Yeah, and I should. I know. I know that. I think just because that is the main hub of the networking and it was at some point that way, more or less my mind views it that way, so that could be a way to say it. But yes, of course, this is down on terror, which is, I think actually got better. Right now I'm talking to you on my All Star. My All Star was out microphone and going to the ALS hub, which is then going through the network and coming back to this. I'm not actually going through the 7330 here, but it is connected up and I'm seeing all the LEDs doing what they're supposed to. So it's luck to go through. I need to hook something to port one and I'll try that again when I get that far. I think I remember because I was looking over your shoulder, virtually speaking, and I thought I remembered you punching in Monterey with two Rs, which is not along the California coast. Monterey, I think that's the other Monterey. But I thought, I remember seeing cst. So we can check that at some point. Maybe when I burn in the other one sometime in the near future, we can look at this real quick. We can go in through team pieces and do that. I don't have that port forward set here. Maybe I'll mess with that and see if I can. That might be fun. But nothing else would you endure and fix. You will be. Okay. Yeah, that's just a quick adjustment. Yeah, I think you're right. That sounds like that's not really what the problem is. Why you were hearing a. You were hearing a different time, but you know that only comes out there locally. Through what? Well, I. I don't know if you heard it. Maybe it's going to go out over that repeater too. I don't know. But yeah, we can fix that. Okay, I'll let you guys go and yeah, if you need anything at all, just let me know and send me an email and I can ping you in and we can make some final adjustments or whatever adjustments you may need for that, for that repeater, All right?

Kk6vzd mobile w e6a x m repeater. Hey, chris. Thanks. Too much. I can do. Good evening. Good evening. You know, I might as well not have come to work today. Hey, a little bit late. Yeah, you know, we had Wednesday off. Eve Christmas or New Year's Eve and New Year's, so I had to come back to work today, but it's almost like there was nobody else here in the county. Wow. Spaceship came down and they all died. Well, that's good, but what do you got going for this evening? You're going to have a nice dinner and take your shoes off and. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. Dinner? That's a good question. Although I went out to Panda Express for lunch, so I don't know that I need anything else to eat. A bowl of frosted flakes and a banana. Well, frosted implies lots of sugar and that I don't need that. Especially, you know, for my diabetes, since I had a whole bunch of chow mein noodles for lunch. Chow mein noodles weren't the best thing for me to eat either, so. Yeah. I can't even tell you the last time I had, you know, box material. Wow. Maybe when you were a kid. Well, are you insulin diabetic? I'm insulin resistant, so. So, yes. I, you know, adult onset and I have to take insulin, but it's. It's not like the type one where you have to monitor it all day throughout the day. I get patients at night. Oh. Diabetes runs in my family. You know, both sides. Grandparents all died of diabetic complications. But, you know, some things, when I get depressed, I want Ben and Jerry or Haagen Dazs or, you know, I mean, I must have a death wish. I know, I know. You know, my. My grandfather had adult onset diabetes and he passed away when he was 91. And my mother has adult onset diabetes and she's 93. Oh, my God. Well, I've heard, you know, now they're saying, you know, some people just live with higher numbers and, you know, the A1, C and D doesn't seem to bother other people. They should watch. Especially the ones who drink a lot. Yeah, Well, I guess just because I should be watching it a lot closer. I'm not, but I should be. Well, do you ever think about, like, laying in bed at night, think about chocolate cat cake or pie or something that you shouldn't think about at all? Yeah, I think I'll try and not run over this cat. That's what I need to think about right now, You know, I just kind of like. I don't know when my time is up. My time will be up. I know when it's not up, it's not up. So why worry really? You know, there's no secret to learning a how live or anything like that. It's like you have to deal with so many things. I feel kind of sorry for young people coming out into the world, you know, there's just so much going on that you could worry about. Yeah, very true, very true. I guess this is kind of a weird thing to say. I guess I'm glad that I'll be leaving sooner rather than later. Oh, yeah. Are you having a party or is it going to be see you later? As for my retirement, I'm not gonna have a party. You know, they're gonna want to have some sort of get together. Oh, Chris is retiring. Let's have a get together. No, I don't want to get together. I will get together with the people that I want to get together with. Well, do you have a lot of friends? Horses and one or two. Maybe you'd be better off to go to the pizza parlor or something. It's more like one or two. No, I don't have an awful lot of friends. I don't have an awful lot of good acquaintances at work anymore either, because they've all left. Well, that kind of tells you something, you know, I mean, actually, are you counting down the days? We just say it was like four months and something. As of 5 o' clock today, it is now 87 days until my retirement. 87, like work days? Not even include, not including weekends. And time that you get. What do you call it, when they pay you, when you leave? What's the word? Oh, that's 87 calendar days. Yeah, 87. Hey, you know what? Don't go by fast, but yeah, retirement, you're gonna like it. You know, it's the time when you find out there's. There's so much to do. You know, things break, things go wrong. I mean, really. Yeah, so many other things to do besides work. Yeah, I got a taste of that last. Last week when I was off for, for the week. I, when I came back to work, I, I came back and I said, you know what? I didn't, I didn't mind not coming into work all last week. We didn't miss it at all. Well, you know, I've mentioned this before. My, my family kind of believed in this Horatio Alger work ethic over the 1930s and 40s, you know, you you were obligated to get an 8 to 5 job and get out there and be part of the society. Oh my God. Oh my God. Well, that's all well and good. You have responsibilities, but there's also an end to it and I get the end. I retired early, had that golden handshake. I said goodbye. Hello. Goodbye. Yes, yes, yes. Well. Well, I've just pulled into my driveway and I see my wife has put out the recycling or coder, not the recycling coater, the green coater and it's not yet Tuesday so I'm going to pull it back up in the driveway, go check it W e I kicked my shoes off and, and come to the, the balloon, you know, come to actually believe the fact that it's Friday, not Monday. So have a great weekend and I'll Talk you later. KK6BZD Clear. KK6BCD N6I W H yes, I'm clear also.

Golf, romeo, golf, india. India uniform. How copy? Hey, Greg had to unwind this radio from the microphone on the hf, and you're coming in loud and clear. What's going on? Well, I thought I'd just check in with you. You know, I think we got a little bit more rain than you guys did yesterday, over. Yeah, I wouldn't say I had a tremendous amount of rain yesterday. And the big deal now is a couple of windstorms which seem to be targeting up north here. Yeah, I know in the last 24 hours, we got an inch of rain. Over. Yeah, I haven't looked, but that's. That's a fair amount. Yeah, that's a lot. And by the way, the band is working great. I just put out a couple of pings, if you will, on 40 meter JS8 and got, you know. Well, I know I didn't check in till late. You said you could hear Micah loud and clear first thing in the morning on early birds using GS8 again, so that's awesome. And, yeah, signals were good today on hs. So I hope you had a great celebration with your daughter and six grt. Yeah, you know, I don't know. I mentioned it on the net yesterday, but, you know, my daughter, she's a New Year's baby. And in the pasture right next to the house here, there was a cow that had a baby, a New Year's baby. So that's kind of unique. Over. There you go. Grab the microphone on you, Jeff. The first thing I thought I heard you say about that was a cat. I didn't catch that. It was a cow. That's a big deal for a cow to have a New Year's baby. It was a cow and it had a New Year's baby. And, you know, we watched it being born. It was right next to the house here. You know, there's a pasture that runs right next to the house. And, you know, all the cows are grazing out there. And then all of a sudden, all the cows crowded together around this one cow, and it was having a baby, and they all helped baby eat the afterburst over. Oh, wow. Yeah. Yeah. They always say that the mother is the one that does that, but I think it goes all the way around. And it's not because they really like it. It's because it keeps the predators away. So just for anyone who's listening, that's what's going on. The sheep have a tendency to let it go. They don't. They don't do that. Okay. Do you breed your sheep too? Wilford. Yeah. As a matter of fact, I was kind of hoping it was going to be one last time of breeding them this year. And so I sort of half borrowed half. I'm doing a whole bunch of work. Work over at the place where the ram came from so that I would have all new gene lines. And it's one of those sheep that this. This ram has gene lines from us, a bunch of sheep that put out milk. So all these new lambs may. A lot of these new lambs may put out a fair amount of milk for whoever gets them. So that's kind of interesting. Okay, so all the sheep feed all the little babies, huh? Oh, yeah. But the point is that these are milk sheep that are coming, and they can actually put out. By weight, considering. By weight. They put out as much as a. As a heifer does by weight, though. And that's a fair amount of really, really rich milk. It's far more rich than cow's milk. Well, I never had any of that. I've had. Well, everybody's had cow's milk, but, you know, sheep, goat, or any of those. I've never tasted it over well, because it's so rich, it makes some of the best cheese. And brie is a famous type of cheese I know in Mexico. And all these little villages, you know, little fishing villages and stuff, they all sell goat cheese. You can get goat cheese anywhere over. Yeah. And it may not actually be goat cheese. That might be from sheep. But a lot of times places will just try to make you think it's goat cheese just so that you're. You're familiar with it. More likely to buy it. Well, that's what they call it. Over. Yep. And, you know, they raise a whole ton of sheep, so there's got to be some sheep cheese happening, too. Okay, well, what are your plans? Are you still planning to do some cruising or what? Well, the plan is to wait for this next round of lambs to be put out, and then right when that happens, you know, and they're weaned, just, you know, close enough to being weaned, Sell everything I can possibly sell. And. And then if it goes well, I'll have my freedom and I can do. I can either sell this place or. Or. Or keep it for a little longer and just try out sailing. What's been recommended that I try it out as a crew member someplace? Well, that's what I would recommend is, you know, get on a charter boat or something and see if you like it. You know, it's not for everybody. I've seen people, you know, especially couples that do it, says oh, that would be a great thing to do. And then you know, either the guy or the wife or something says I hate this, you know, and they don't gonna participate anymore. And it's a, it's a bummer. Over. Yeah, couples are well known for not doing too well with it because there's, you know, there's only so much space, you know, it's harder to get some free time from your mate. So that's well known to cause problems with couples relationships. And it's well known that more couples break up on boats per capita than on land. But I don't know if that's actually true. But that's what they like to say. Well, if you were married to the right person, it's not a problem. But you know, being in the cruising community for several years, I've been in the cruising community for over 20 years and you know, you see it happen every day over. Yeah, I've heard a lot of it happening. Okay, well I just wanted to see it. But we were getting your share of rain up there. I know we're getting it here. I don't. It's supposed to blow a little bit today but not like in the 30s or 40s but it's going to be, you know, maybe touching the 20s. Over. Yeah, it's kind of funny. I get my weather off of this one higher powered mini computer and the most recent has a ton of memory and a ton of everything. It's very hard for what it is. It's 12 volts though. It runs on 12 volts but, but the problem with it is that it has trouble with WI fi and this little Lenovo which is a very low powered computer has no problem with WI fi and it's sitting at the bench in the ham shaft and you know, it works great with several different SDRs running at the same time and all sorts of things like that. So yeah, it's a strange deal. I, I know the problem is probably that computer, that MINI computer, that higher powered one. So I got to try to work that out. If I get past the WI FI problem. That's a great computer, but it'll be great. I've got to get past the WI FI problem on it because for it to work on a boat for instance, it would have to have really good WI fi. So. Well, maybe, I mean if I broke down and got a Mini. The thing is that the deal that the giveaway deal with Minis was for people who already Had Starlink. If you have, if, if you don't have Starlink. I don't know if you can get a practically free deal for a Mini if you, if you're just starting your account fresh. So. Yeah, that's an interesting situation. Tony, are you planning on getting a Starlink setup for your. If you get a boat over? Well, if I could get inexpensive one like a Mini with lower data feeds and that sort of thing like they do. They have this one deal where you can get a Mini and get a minimum amount of data and even the minimum amount is more than I have here now. So, you know, I would be willing to do that. Yeah, that. You know, it's funny, I got out of it when Starling come out. So. Yeah. And I ran a tractor modem three, you know, to get my emails and stuff. It never did have WI Fi, but you know, you could get emails and weather faxes, grip files, stuff like that on a pack of modem three. Over. Yeah, that's another way to do it. And that's all that Barry ever needed was a little bit of email service and. And he switched over to Vera, which is a way of getting digital hf that's as fast and as reliable as Pactor, at least as fast and reliable as Pacdor. And almost everybody switched over to Vera. Yeah, I'm not too familiar with that one. I know it was the Packer Modem three is what I run and it would download weathers every day, you know, weather factors, whatever you want it over. Well, you kind of got. If you're gonna do it, you got to go with the wind, you know, you should. And, and the general direction everybody's gone is with now And Vera is 100% software. And there's a high speed that's a low speed that's free and license free. You don't have to like pay anything for it. And then if you want the highest speeds of Vera, you have to pay and have a VERA license, which I have done. It's one payment and it's good for life. So I just need to follow through with Vera because Vera is the way people are doing what they do, they don't do it with. Because JS8 is only for short messages. Yeah, I think if I was still cruising, I'd be looking into Starlink. You know, that's probably the best solution, but it's. I know it can get expensive. Over. Well, did you catch how they're doing the Mini deal? Haven't checked into it. You know, I'm kind of Well, I. I don't have a phone anymore, so, you know, I just want to stay connected on the radio here. So that's. That's pretty much all I do is just, you know, the nets in the morning. I'm not really into all this fancy radio stuff, but, you know, I get on the net, you know, and talk on two majors and, you know, once in a while I'll go and see if I can get on the seafarers net over.

I guess I dropped out. Did you get anything? Yep. You. You were going in and out of the repeater a couple times and. Yeah, I think you did drop out. Greg signed. He said 73. This is KN6NGK report. Yes, probably interference, but anyway, how you doing? Yeah, actually, I gotta get ready to go here. Just wanted to let you know what I heard. Anyway, I don't think there was any interference. You guys. Good conversation. So I don't know what it was. It could be the weather though, or something like that. But there was a couple times in there where you broke in and out. Okay, Well, I think I was releasing and checking every so often, so I don't know. Hard to say. This repeater gets a lot of interference, both intentional and unintentional. And the unintentional, as you know, comes from that Columbia University area, which I guess is Placer county someplace. Yep, that's possible, but I don't think that was the case this time. But anyway. Yep, I gotta get going here. I've got about 20 minutes before I gotta head out the door, so I'll have to sign too. Anyway, 73kn6mgk. I'll be mobile in about a half hour. Yeah, I'm a little longer at the radio combination of Greg. What Greg's doing. Well, the fact that Greg came on, but I was still here because I was setting up jsa call it, and I've taken up sewing and I'm sewing on overalls right now. And I made a joke, I was sewing my sails and nobody picked up on it, so. Oh, well. But I'm actually sewing on overalls and they're, you know, overall can be. These are. These are Carhartts. Carhartts are probably the most expensive overall out there. Most expensive of any type of clothing out there is a Carhartt. Yeah. I don't know if it's the most expensive out there. It's probably the most expensive that people wear around here. But anyway, they used to sell a brand called Red Cap. It was pretty darn good, but it was not cheap either. And you know, it takes a special person to wear overalls anymore. They're not as popular. But over here we have a place called Work World. I think it is. I think there was one in office 44 over that way. I went over there and visited them before I started selling work clothes because it was one of my higher grossing margins. It was easier to make almost double what you paid for things anyways. But as everything goes, you had to be a big guy in order to sell that stuff anymore, at least locally. So people are going down to the tractor supplies and not even the Home Depot carries some of that stuff now. So anyway. Yep, so it was, it was tough to be a small business owner in a small town and sell that stuff any longer. But anyway, yeah, we'll chat with you later. I've got to go. KN6MGK. Well, I've checked that market and Tractor Supply sells the brand name Liberty and I haven't looked at it yet. If it's heavy enough it's going to be fine. But. And I wouldn't say Carhartt was there was anything special about it. It wears out just as fast as anything else. It's a western brand and sold in exclusive western stores. So that's why it was a expensive, not because it was better. All right, so have a good one. What are you doing today? Well, heading to. I gotta go but heading to Magalia to. They're doing an antenna build up there with these little 2 meter yaggies. I'm gonna go up there and see if I can make one kn6mgk. I gotta go 73. 2 meter yeagers. Yeah, I've got a lot of work I need to do. I, I got all. When I, when I took apart the storage building that I is still together but it's basically all, all and ready to come down. When I took it apart though, I put all my antennas together and they're all outside now because you know, they're weatherproof so they're all outside in one spot. And God, do I have a lot of antennas. It is absolutely nuts. And all my Yagis are there too, so gee whiz, there's a lot I could play with. All right, talk to you later. N6GRG.

I wouldn't say that only special people wear overalls. What I would say is that only hard working people that get dirty wear overalls. That's why I wear them. Keeps my all my other clothing clean, cleaner. All right. N6 GRT especially in the winter. That's one reason why people don't wear them here. It's too hot.

Speaker A: Wp set a x n repeater. Kilo Oscar 6 Bravo Gulf Yankee monitoring mobile headed to Yuba City. Looks like there's a break in the storm.
Speaker B: Hey, Paul, you've got the old IWA shot here.
Speaker A: Say again N6IWH, KO6BBY.
Speaker B: Yeah, just checking in. No traffic. Okay.
Speaker A: Y' all be monitoring in the background once they get out of Calusa. Probably a little bit smoother. There's quite a bit of traffic at the moment. Happy Saturday. Peace. Yeah, it looks like we got some rain definitely through last night and it looks like we're due for quite a bit. Probably by 10 or 11, I think.
Speaker B: Oh yeah, it's real bad up here. Coming down pretty good. Got my Bronco covered up with tarp. Of course the wind blew it off. Right. So here I am, six o' clock in the morning trying to cover up my Bronco will be.
Speaker A: You need to find a tarp and a large heat gun and shrink wrap that thing. That might help, huh?
Speaker B: Yeah, I know. Well, you can't let it go. That stuff can. Can develop mold, you know, the bad kind of mold for the. So anyway, everything requires some kind of maintenance really.
Speaker A: It's always something. But. Yeah. Oh, the river's up high. Sack river in Calusa over here is up high. Yeah, that's pretty. That's pretty well up there.
Speaker B: Oh, hey, I come from Bridge street, you know, city, Marysville. I've never seen so much water in my entire life. I mean, everything was underwater, that soccer area and all those fields. But that river was about a mile wide. I couldn't believe it. I was really. I was on the world.
Speaker A: Yeah, I can remember as a youngin. Still young. Anyway, I think it was back in 97 or 98, we'd have to go to Yuba City and the road would be flooded out. The Sutter Bypass back then was the old bridge with the old wooden guardrails and the water was lapping over the bridge there. But. But looks like we got some traffic stopped in the road, so I'm going to back out for just a second beat. Disregard. If it's somebody that thinks you have to come to a complete stop to make a right turn off of a main road. I don't understand why people do that.
Speaker B: Hey, it's tough enough driving in bad weather when you got people making these decisions trying to drive. Oh my God.
Speaker A: Hey, how's my signal coming through? I'm getting a little bit of static on your end, but that could be just me driving around in this crap of weather.
Speaker B: Now your new middle name is Good Signal. It sounds fine. Good audio. Really?
Speaker A: That's surprising. This car has a lot of road noise in it. Pretty pleased with this $20 aftermarket hand mic that I got last year. Oh, then first world problem. My Internet went out yesterday after I got home from work and called the company. We can send somebody on Wednesday. I'm like, oh, geez. Good thing I have an old time radio I can fire up and sit by the pretend fireplace on my iPad. Do that. But I got myself on. I actually read a book a little bit last night, so that was kind of fun.
Speaker B: It was, you know, 30, something like that. And I just can't get it. The chirp I have doesn't work. Windows 10. Maybe that's it. I don't know. But I told you about that place in the wall. It's almost beaten in from my head. Oh, I mean, really, I can't.
Speaker A: Yeah, I was getting a little bit ecstatic. Kind of hard to copy. But anyway, I will back out. I'm gonna prioritize as always. Safety first. But I will be monitoring in the background and I'll let you know if I see any knuckleheads. Tell them not to go towards Chico. They Pete alone. Anyway, Pete, Happy Saturday. And I'll be. I'll be here listening in the background. N6IWh, KO6, BGY73 and the little. By the way, the bypass over here in the Sutter starting to get us get full. Nowhere near full, but it's got water in it.
Speaker B: Hey, well, be careful. Watch out for idiots. Hello? It.

Speaker B: Working on model M O T E L S Model? Actually, I'm a model maker.
Speaker A: I build
Speaker B: a diorama for people who can't really afford the whole train set. You build these little tiny. You know, get a piece of board. I'm working on my military diorama. I've got three half tracks, a couple of tanks, and HO size.
Speaker A: Okay, I remember you talking about that. It's good. You still working on that? And hopefully that's coming along pretty well. Looks like the weather's parted ways for a minute. Oh, well, my main appointment was done, so we'll see how the rest of the day goes. Yep. Doing with this, that, and the other little bits and bats over here. There. But anyway, probably should get something to eat, too. There's a Costa Vita nearby. They're okay. I can't draw the blank now, but it's popular. Similar food, but it'll come to me as soon as I drop.
Speaker B: What kind of stuff? Cheeseburger.
Speaker A: That's a fresh Mexican grill. I swear, the name is escaping me here, but it's another one that's real popular with their guacamole. And I swear I'm getting old. Memory isn't what it used to be. But, yeah, they got good food at Costa Vida, so it's not too bad. And it's right here.
Speaker B: Yeah, there's a few. Chico. I judge a restaurant by the rice and beans. You know, they have to pass my scrutiny there. But you know, what they're doing, though, when you order a burrito is they're filling it full of rice. And you say chicken, and there might be a beak or something in there.
Speaker A: Yeah, it's kind of hard to judge. When they say it's chicken, it's like, are you serving chicken or are you serving duck? Bills and beaks and feathers and stuff. But for whatever it is, it tastes good. So if they have something on there. Yeah,
Speaker B: I've had some good experiences with Mexican restaurants, but not so much lately. And then also, you know, Christmas for those old Chicanos and stuff. These restaurants don't sell tamales. Okay. And, you know, the guys I talk to, they say, oh, go over here to so and so. There's a woman selling them out of the trunk of her car. I Don't know how I feel about that.
Speaker A: Well, as a tamale connoisseur,
Speaker B: don't pass
Speaker A: up on those ones coming out of the trunk. Usually. Usually at least the ones when I do that, it's through a lady at work that knows someone and they do it that way. So I guess it's not the same as just a total random stranger. But yeah, you're right. Most of these restaurants don't do tamales. And if they do.
Speaker B: Oh, that's.
Speaker A: There's one in Marysville that a friend of mine really liked. We went over there and they were frozen tamales. You could tell because they had that really cheap square chicken bits in it. It's like.
Speaker B: No. Oh yeah. Well, you recognize the real thing. Even Chinese food Marysville is that Sun Bridge used to be good quality. You know, the rice. Fluffy and I would get sweet and sour chicken. But I noticed last time that they were starting to fry up pieces of gristle and skin and call it chicken. I guess the economy is tough.
Speaker A: Yeah, it gets pretty bad there when the quality goes down. But anyway, I'm gonna go ahead and step in. It looks like I just got notified that I'm next in line, so I'm gonna be about 10 pounds lighter with getting some mop off my head, people.
Speaker B: Catch you in a little bit.

The acu 16. Hey, that's a, that's a, that's a lot better. I can hear you now. I couldn't hear you before, so. You're right. It's probably that, that repeater up there. Yeah, right. Well, like I say, I have issues here. So anyway, yeah, I think, I mean, you're, you're into it. Fine. If I could get up, you know, base antenna, put my yaggy up again or something and head back, I would be, you know, good to you. Something happens. I imagine when the weather gets better, they'll get up there and check it out. There's something going on up here. You're probably right. How you, how, how's everything going? How is your, your tenant there? They leaving you alone? Well, yeah, kind of, sort of. They don't bother too much, especially this kind of weather. They're all, you know, inside. I took him into town yesterday and he got his money. Almost $800. So crazy. Anyway, yeah, they're. I don't know, I haven't seen her, so I, I don't know. Like I say, it is what it is, Natural. An $800 PG&E bill. They must be heating with plug in heaters or something. Oh yeah, he's got two of them. You know, the little space heaters. 1500 watts, that's 3 kilowatts. Both of them are running. She's got a couple at the main house. I don't heat it. I stay out in studio beater most of the time. Actually, I don't have any heat out here at all. You know, the sun's out up, it's 70 something degrees in here. In the morning when I first come out here, I turn it on for about a half hour to take the chill off and then that's it. It don't get normally turned on the rest of the day. Unless it's a super cold day. Yep. Well, I don't know. As long as they keep covering PG&E. I can't believe it. I can't believe how pg. When I first moved up that year, I think my highest bill was $56. And that's when I run the heat pump. That's an older one. It really gobbles up confused. I don't even dare to turn it on now. Yeah, my P chain bill runs $7, $9 a month. I got a small scooter up all the way in the roof. But yeah, it's really going crazy as you know. I'm afraid so. It's all gone. It's all Too expensive now. And you know they talk about affordable energy and they can say anything they want but they can never fix it because they don't. Other than just words. They don't have a plan at all. Yeah, well I really don't follow the news that much. He does and she does. They listen to that. They listen to the talking heads. I don't really do that, but yeah, I guess. Old nuisance or fearless? Governor. Governor nuisance, I guess. We're not going to have any more plastic bags. A lot of companies are moving out of California. Chevron I guess moved to Texas or going to it already. Did they predict gas prices? Because you know we're going to have to import more of them. Although they're falling right now. But they predicted to probably double up to $8 a gallon or more. I'll have to revert back to a moped and maybe outside tree wife or something. Yeah, no, no, It's the taxes. I mean when I talked to my buddy who lives in Winnemucca, he says the gas is cheaper up there than it is in California. And he lives in Winnemucca. I never could figure that out. Like the refinery, just the Bay area or something. To get it, they transport it truck down here. The valley is pretty high. Go sometimes way up the mountain at some little God forsaken place. It's actually cheaper way up there. I don't understand that. It's not for me to know. Well, that's right. Well Clarence, I think I'm going to get off the horn and I just wanted to stop by and say hi and see how you're doing. Talk to you probably the next day or two, maybe tomorrow or the next day. So I'll say 73 and 6 Duk WQ6T. I'll be clear on your final clearance. Yep. Okay. Well anyway, take care. Thanks for the call. Now you catch me when you catch me. I guess. 60 UK 73.

Something going on here that kind of off of. Too bad. There's actually a Scottsdale ham test in two weeks just up the street. I'm gonna go to that. It's the Scottsdale. Well, you know, it could be the Phoenix Scottsdale people, so at least I'll get to a ham. Yeah, he told me a couple weeks ago he wouldn't be able to make it, but. Yeah, maybe next time. So is this awl thing or is it a lot of vendors going to be there or what? You know, I don't know. I just heard about it at the weekly Texas meeting we have here in the local Texas group for luncheon. I checked the sign and that I got the date March, March 14, but I have to check. I. I don't know. It's in a big facility very close to where I'm at. But as I find out, I'll let you know once you come down. I think I'll pass. We'll do that. We'll do the yellow one, but. Okay, very good. Yeah, I'd be interested to see if. If any of the vendors are there. I'd be interested to hear from you if that new tribander is out yet. Oh, there's new. Is it a mobile type or HP I was talking about last time we Talked? It's a 2,220 440 analog D star tribander. And suppose that they took the allow the firmware and the audio processing from the 74 and the 75 and moved it over to it so it should make dstar sound much better than normal. Oh, yeah. Oh, that's great. You know, I'd like to get a handy truck I can use on these stars. I guess I have to go to icon, don't I? No, no. Stay away from those guys like the plague. Go to Kenwood, Icon to Eastar Radio sound like crap. Kenwood's really got the. Got a really, really good job on. Okay, I'll go check again with hd. I don't have room for mobile here and I've got a couple antennas. I just don't know what dstar repeater I can hit. I can't. Can't hit very many repeaters the way this apartment is, so I have to check. I'll check around. Well, wait a minute. I can do hotspots, can I? Yeah, exactly. That's what I do. I use a. Well, I can hit the repeater here locally, of course, but yeah, I use a hotspot often. Okay, yeah, I'll mess with this open spot and see If I can get it on decide to be easy and I'll set it Carol is in Phoenix here maybe I'll go down to their place. I don't know what handy talking I'm sure there's various levels of handicapping Our team only has one is the D75. It's the upgraded to the one upgraded to the one I'm talking on right now D74 but that's the only one they got and all the icon ones sound like complete crap. Don't. Don't even waste your money on their so the. That's why I'm interested in the Kenwood D Star tribander. I want to get rid of that ad you have in my truck. Yeah, you know I've got my common in the car. I've never really liked it. Okay, I'll. I'll look for the 7,500. No no, no, no. Th75 tango hotel 75. Okay. I can. Well, I could go online and computers I come I'll do that. It's easy find one of the vendors. HRO is a long take from me here. It's about 45 minutes for you to get there way on the other end of town so of course the price is the same. Yeah yeah. Maybe I'll run over there at least ph 7500 I'll check it out. Yeah, good deal. So like I said, let me know if they. The last I saw they don't have the release date on the. The mobile radio yet but Tony Martin was telling me they're thinking the end of January, February so it should be out in time for the Yuma site. But you know, there's a lot of speculation on cost. It's not going to be a cheap radio. But I got it all. Yeah, I'm used to the Emmy tones. They're cheap. Go back to Kenwood. I haven't had a Kenwood rig in a long time but I'll. I think I'll just see this first January February. I'll wait till maybe the end of February and run over the HRO and check it out. Okay. Wait a minute. I'm. I'm trying to. I'm messing with one of my nodes here. Give me and then I want to switch over to something else. They hot. Okay, Sounds good over here too. Okay. Yeah. You're. You're fine here. Yeah. The hotspot what I'm going to do. I'm not good into the repeaters around here with partners around me and all that so. Great. I'll. I'LL check that. And what else? I'll go online and see what? When it might be available. And all these Vegas people. Sounds like crud. Guess I'll turn my radio off. Kilo. November 6th. My golf kilo. Well, the crazy thing is they're not even on the radio. Did you already turn it off?

I'll go do that. Thanks for the information. Well, 7702. Okay. Now we get back to messing with these nodes and trying to make some software configuration changes on our network.
