Speaker B: Oh, okay. You're in Gridley. Okay, I understand
Speaker E: now. I didn't know you was up in Grindley. I thought you was in Yuba City.
Speaker C: No, I haven't made it back down there yet.

Speaker A: Ak6isq mobile.
Speaker B: Hey Mike.
Speaker A: Hey, how you doing there Wes? You got me for a couple minutes.
Speaker B: I'm doing fine. Just getting home. Coming into Ferry Road,
Speaker A: you're pretty close.
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, not too bad.
Speaker A: So how's Christmas and New Year's?
Speaker B: Oh, they were fine. Whole family went through whatever's going around this year, sickness wise. But we're all doing all right now.
Speaker A: I heard it takes you out for a couple weeks.
Speaker B: Yeah, none of us were like deathbed, couldn't get out of bed. But you know, it just felt like not great for you know, four or five days each.
Speaker A: That's good. The people that I was speaking to, it pretty much took them out for at least a good week and a half.
Speaker B: Two weeks. Yeah, we didn't get that particular strain but there's some interesting ones going around this year.
Speaker A: Oh yeah, no, same old stuff here. New Year's really isn't. Doesn't do much. We don't do much on New Year's. Christmas, you know, it's just the three of us now.
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Everything slowly winds down as the kids get older.
Speaker A: Oh yeah. Well I get an experiment tonight.
Speaker B: What's happening now?
Speaker A: Oh, about a year ago I put an insert in our shower, one of those plastic ones. And I've had nestle of problems with using a silicone. You know the, the tubes for bathroom stuff, they keep on coming off every time we go to wash it.
Speaker B: Yeah. What are you gonna try now?
Speaker A: I try to glue it, glue it together, you know, behind, behind the scenes. And then I got that liquid flex stuff that thick enough I can paint it on with the paintbrush and I'm going to try that.
Speaker B: So you're just going to paint over the seams with that and hope it works?
Speaker A: Yeah, I've used this stuff out of the Rattle cannon. It works pretty good. So I'll see how this works out.
Speaker B: It's just that plastic insert, really shiny. I don't know if it. They always say you're supposed to rough it up for better adhesion with that stuff and I don't how well it'll stay stuck to, you know, shiny plastic.
Speaker A: Yeah, I know that and it's, it, it's a cheap insert to be honest with you, but the silicone just keeps on coming undone. Maybe I ought to put a little bit of sandpaper on it and see if I can rough it up a little.
Speaker B: Yeah, none of them are designed that great unless it's a one piece insert and then that's really pain in the butt to install.
Speaker A: Yeah. Yep. I just didn't want to do another tile job and everything, so I put the insert in.
Speaker B: Yeah, it's understandable. A lot of work, a lot of expense if you don't have the money for it right now.
Speaker A: Oh yeah. So besides that experiment. That's about it.
Speaker B: Yeah. I just been slowly doing the steps of getting ready to reload some more. So I cleaned everything and sorted everything. Now I got to get ready to lube and start, you know, popping the primers and resizing everything.
Speaker A: Yep. I'm waiting for March to or so for the gun shows to get some brass.
Speaker B: Just wait for a specific kind or just wait for a good deal.
Speaker A: Good deal for 270 and 7 mil remag we 6 a x n receiver.
Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, that's best. KK6SY for ID. If you're not in a hurry, just wait for a good deal to buy it.
Speaker A: Yeah, because if you buy the, the brass new, it's, it's quite pricey.
Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, they're, they're trying to price us out of everything, especially here in California.
Speaker A: Yeah, that and I hear Tesla's gonna be having their cell phone release on sometime in March and, and I'm going to get in on that. Yep, sounds like a pretty good idea.
Speaker B: Yeah, they're, they just announced they're putting in their lower satellite, not as high but better coverage. There's more of them for better coverage.
Speaker A: Yeah, I mean between it sounds like, like 160 to 250 for a, for a phone and the service comes with the phone or you're paying like 10 bucks or so for the, for the service a month. So. Yeah, I'll try that out. I'll be a guinea pig.
Speaker B: Yeah, I hadn't really heard about that. I mean I heard saw thing that they were thinking about it, but I
Speaker A: didn't hear how much it was going
Speaker B: to be your availability and all that yet. Yeah, we went that route and we got Starlink at the ranch. Got great throughput up, you know, up and down for our cameras and everything else.
Speaker A: Yeah, I'm gonna wait for the, for the Starlink to come down a little bit and then I'll, I'll pick one up. But yeah, the cell phone sound sounds like a pretty good deal and try it out, see how it goes. The only bad thing is I guess they're only going to tell them that Tesla cell phone stores and their dealership.
Speaker B: Well, that's not a bad thing. I mean if they're keeping their cost down and your cost of buying the up. Only takes a little while to drive down to Rockland or whatever and go to Tesla store.
Speaker A: That's what I plan on doing. Alrighty, I'm here. I'll let you go ahead and head home. I'm parked. My RV port.
Speaker B: Yeah, I just drove under Queen. I just drove right by you.
Speaker A: Roger Rogers. Seven, three. Have a safe drive home.
Speaker B: All right, have a good night.

Speaker B: My dog's barking. I think somebody's. I think somebody's
Speaker A: at the door. I think I'm gonna. I. I'm gonna have to. And I'll. I'll get back to you. Okay, Before you go, are you talking into the side of the microphone or into the back of it?
Speaker C: No, I'm talking into the front of it.
Speaker A: You got to talk right into it.
Speaker C: I'm talking right into it.
Speaker A: Okay. Okay. I'll catch you in a little bit. WA1 ner

Speaker B: WA1REIN My name's not Dave.
Speaker A: Where'd you get that at?
Speaker B: Go ahead, David.
Speaker A: I even gotta teach my own family my own name, right? Yep. It's okay to use that every once in a while. While, I guess she has a story yet.
Speaker B: That would be a negative. She is still in their shop.
Speaker A: Does that girl find a shop? She just like her mother.
Speaker B: Yep. They like to shop
Speaker A: till you drop. Well, what store is she in?
Speaker B: The grocery outlet.
Speaker A: Grocery outlet. Oh, well, she's doing some grocery shopping for dinner then, huh?
Speaker B: Yeah. I'm hoping we'll have Catholic Carlos tomorrow night.
Speaker A: I was thinking that was tonight. Taco Tuesday now, I guess. Yeah, tomorrow night. What are you getting tomorrow night?
Speaker B: Chili Colorado.
Speaker A: Oh, man. I just might have to do something like that, which is. But for some reason, Steve, I don't know what it is. It's like your microphone is not plugged in all the way, and when you talk into it, the more you talk into it, the further away the microphone gets or something. What is. What's going on with that? I don't know.
Speaker B: Might be because I'm sitting here right in front of this building trying to get over.
Speaker A: Well, yeah, it starts out pretty good, but then the more you talk. I don't know if I'm doing this justice or not, but the more you talk, the more you. You get further away. Is that kind of doing it? And then coming up close.
Speaker B: Yeah, that. That sounds probably like what you're trying to describe. Wondering if it might be because my truck's not running.
Speaker A: Ah, you know what? Try starting it and see what happen.
Speaker B: All right. I got it started. So I'm not sure if that's going to make any sort of a difference or not.
Speaker A: It doesn't seem like it's doing any different. I hear kids out walking. Kids walking around the corner. Yeah, something's weird about that. It just fading out.
Speaker B: Well, I'll have to check it when we get on the road and see if it's that way.
Speaker A: Is it still running?
Speaker B: Yes, I have the truck running.
Speaker A: It's. It's picking up. I mean, it's holding pretty steady now.
Speaker B: Yeah, I haven't used this radio in quite a long time.
Speaker A: It just doesn't have a full charge in it or something. I don't know. It's got to be battery. It's gotta be.
Speaker B: Yeah, I think that's what it is because I know When I was sitting over there and I first turned it on when I would key up without the truck on, it would like, die.
Speaker A: What would like die?
Speaker B: It would like. It would just shut off. So I'm thinking that may have been
Speaker A: the connection to the battery, The. The radio itself.
Speaker B: Yeah.
Speaker A: Well, yeah, maybe it. Maybe it's a bad connection, huh?
Speaker B: Yeah, I haven't used this thing a while. I hardly ever drive this truck, so. And I did have to replace the battery and not too long ago, so maybe a. I didn't. Didn't make a good connection to the radio.
Speaker A: Okay, so you're direct to the battery, huh?
Speaker B: Yep, I am.
Speaker A: What kind of connection do you have to it?
Speaker B: It's just wired straight in and I got a ground wire going to the body and hot wire to the battery.
Speaker A: Well, that's the proper way to do it, for sure. Sounds right. Well, let's see. Well, we're just gonna have to get it in a little more use. Instead of driving the other. The other new pickup, drive the old one for a while.
Speaker B: Yeah, well, maybe I have to move this radio over to my new one,
Speaker A: I guess. Oh, you got another radio, don't you?
Speaker B: Yeah, I think I've got a. That old one in the closet.
Speaker A: Is that the Midland?
Speaker B: I don't remember what it is.
Speaker A: Which one is that that you're talking on? The Midland.
Speaker B: The one I'm talking on right now is Kenwood.
Speaker A: Kenwood. I can't remember which one that is now. Long. Wow, huh?
Speaker B: Yeah, it's the. The Kenwood TM280,
Speaker A: The one you've had in there all along, isn't it?
Speaker B: Yes, the one I bought from down in la.
Speaker A: I don't remember when you bought that one.
Speaker B: It's probably been at least 10 years ago. It's not a little longer.
Speaker A: Now. It's working pretty steady now. It's. It's not doing any fading at all on it now.
Speaker B: Yeah, that's why I had to drive this truck around so I can take that battery charged up. Had to use the jumper to get it started.
Speaker A: Why?
Speaker B: I don't have, you know, the smallest clung information in there right now.
Speaker A: Okay, I spoke too soon. It's starting to fade now, so I spoke too soon, I think.
Speaker B: All right, well, hopefully it'll start working again.
Speaker A: Have to work. Do a new hot wire on it, a little wire brush to it or something.
Speaker B: Yeah, I can take a look at it tomorrow when I get back to the house.
Speaker A: Paula doing in there looking for organic apples? Not sure.
Speaker B: I think she was looking for something for dinner tonight.
Speaker A: Oh, okay. Okay. Sounds good. Yeah, it's getting pretty close to that time now.
Speaker B: Yeah, I know. Starting to get. Get hungry.
Speaker A: So am. I. Haven't had. I really haven't had a whole lot to eat today. I had a donut.
Speaker B: Yeah, I had a waffle and an egg.
Speaker A: I didn't even have an egg this morning or nothing. I just. I think I just. All I had was a donut. Shame on the mess. Well, hey, I'll let you go. I'll catch you when you start moving into town. So I'll be lifting up.
Speaker B: Okay, I'll let you know. Wa1ren clear.
Speaker A: Okey dokey. Wa1ner clear. And it's standing by.

Speaker A: N7cnd, this is kk7tdi.
Speaker B: Hey, ken.
Speaker A: What's going on? Just hanging out, hiding in my cave. You just kind of call Ken. I think. I think he's got a chance to run for president down there.
Speaker B: Chann has a chance to run for president. Why do you say that?
Speaker A: Well, I think our president gives their president an ultimate.
Speaker B: Yeah, I don't know what the heck we're doing, man.
Speaker A: I don't know.
Speaker B: He's definitely
Speaker A: flexing his muscle, right?
Speaker B: Because between them and Colombia and what, Greenland and what's the other one he's messing with now? Puerto Rico? Not in the Puerto Rico. Cuba. I don't know what he says.
Speaker A: Yeah, for security reasons, we do need to buy Greenland.
Speaker B: I saw something where they were trying to. Denmark was. Of course, Denmark owns them, right? Denmark was trying to work with us on allowing us to put more military bases in.
Speaker A: Yeah. I guess In World War I and 2, I guess they had a lot of military there.
Speaker B: I just didn't know that. Yeah, I know. We've got some bases or some presents. Yeah. I'm not so much sure how much
Speaker A: of a presence, but we will see.
Speaker B: Interesting times. So what you doing in your man caves?
Speaker A: My granddaughter's got all her friends from school up there upstairs. I'm hiding out down here.
Speaker B: Trying to try and get some peace and quiet.
Speaker A: Sometimes even hard. Hard to get peace and quiet down here. But I. I just playing around. Got dry, some cleaning. Just. Just messing around. Old man's stuff. Yeah, there you go.
Speaker B: Good deal. You got any. You got any snow up there? I. One of the guys back in our com shop turned on the camera at Highland. Looks like there's a couple inches up there, but I'm not sure if it's
Speaker A: down in the valleys or not. No, I. I went to Pioche the other day and I could see it was a little dusty and white up on island, but we never got any down. We got rain down in the valley here, down off the foot of the hill. Other than that, it's just been cold.
Speaker B: Yeah. It's amazing how little snow we have in our mountains. I think I told you before, usually, you know, October, November, and we're locked out of high potency and Highland.
Speaker A: Peace and Angel.
Speaker B: Peace and everything. And I was at angel on Saturday, I think it was, and there was literally nothing up there at all.
Speaker A: I remember. I think I put a shout out to you when you was up there working. You was testing stuff out. You get it back working. I know that. Yeah, I was.
Speaker B: I was setting Some deviation, a couple of our IP connections and that's why. That's why I heard me up. That's why I came back and said, yeah, I'm testing some audio, but yeah, I got it all worked out working well. So in the high band box on high potency seems to be holding in good. And the link to blow hard for the Northern Snowbird system is working. So, yeah, it's. It's good.
Speaker A: On them angels and stuff. I haven't had a chance to go to my wife yet, but we're going down, I think next month, dental cleaning in Vegas. So I thought maybe I'd give you a shout down there when it is. I'm not sure what the date is, but I think it's in February somewhere. We go for cleaning, maybe we could run over and I could find out where you live and get a. You could look at them and maybe pick up one.
Speaker B: Yeah, that sounds good. Yeah, Cheryl's here. She heard that, so that'd be good. Yeah, just let us know and we'll arrange something.
Speaker A: Yeah, we have to go down there twice a year to the dentist and
Speaker B: have her teeth cleaned.
Speaker A: If you have any work, they do it, I guess. Been doing it for 30 something years or more. But he's a good dentist. He's getting kind of old too. I think he's got his boy in there working. He wants to retire, I guess.
Speaker B: Ah, very good, very good. Yeah, we've got a. Cheryl might go to the standing dentist. We've been to him for years. Matter of fact, he's a dentist that does the Golden Knights whatever. So does those guys. But that'd be great. Yeah. So, you know, if we're. I'm sure we'll be around. The only thing I got going on in February is the last week of February, a bunch of us going down to Yuma for the swap meet or the ham fest. That's not until last. The last weekend, I think of February, but yeah, it sounds good. I'll show you some of my ham radio stuff.
Speaker A: It'd be good. I'd like to see it. I'll. I'll get ahold of you and let you know when. When we actually got to be down there. We'll be coming that way. It'll be good to see you and talk to you. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker B: You know, even I don't think I've. I don't think I've met any of the Carla guys. There was a while ago. I was in try to sync up with Tom a couple years ago. Wife and I went to Tahoe. That never worked out. The schedule's never synced up. And I know Matt up in Sparks Reno. He comes down here every now and again, do his railroad thing. We never had a chance to tie up. And Ken and I were going to try to do an eyeball before he decided to leave to Columbia, you know, when he was driving his truck. And that never freaking worked out. It's weird, but at least there's radio, right?
Speaker A: Quite surprised me that he suggests to us from out there. But he's got all the ways to it. I guess we just got to talk him into running for president.
Speaker B: There you go. President. Yeah, well, he. He just has a. You know, he's got. He's got a clear or not clear. He's got an all star node, you know, just like all of us do. Matter of fact, that's what I'm. That's what I'm talking into now. I got a little. I got a little clear node, all star hotspot here in the house that I use. I mean, I can. I can hit the repeaters fine from here, but this way I'm just sitting here in my Handy talking with 20 milliwatts and I have to worry about it.
Speaker A: Yeah, you're loud and clear. I mean real clear. There's not a blended at all in that radio.
Speaker B: Yeah. What do you. When you come down here, you obviously drive. Do you have a radio in your truck or what? Or your vehicle.
Speaker A: I'll be bringing a handheld. That's the thing. I got to figure out what repeater I can run off when I get down there to call you. I have about Utah Hill program into my radios, but I. I don't think I've got any. In the Vegas. I got Highland heat, but none. None of the others. I don't know if we could go. Well, I couldn't go through Highland D, but I'll have to find out and get a program then. What channels you have down there?
Speaker B: Yeah, I can. It's on our website. I can send you the website information. I can just send you the actual frequencies.
Speaker A: Do you have.
Speaker B: Do you have a UHF or is it just two meters?
Speaker A: I have a Yezu and I have a full thing that. U5RM.
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I'm not familiar with either one of those. Does it have UHF in it also, does it have 440 or just 2 meters? Yeah, you're quick. He's got. I didn't get any of that. Is it 2 meters in 440 or. Or not?
Speaker A: I think it goes to 440. I think it's just 2 meters.
Speaker B: Well that sucks because all our linked repeaters here in the Vegas Valley are on 440. We don't have anything on 2 meters that's linked into this network. Well there's one on Red Mountain but you wouldn't be able to hit it very well from where you'll be. Okay, well that's weird. I thought Bothangs did 2 meters and 440 but I've mastered my rock. Those radios.
Speaker A: This. Ya, it's a FT60 and I think it does all of them.
Speaker B: Hold on there. Yeah, I just looked it up. Yezu, FT60R band, VHS, VHF. So you're good. Yeah, I will. Cheap 140 bucks. Yeah, it doesn't. So I will, I will send you. You. I will send you a link or I just send you a list of the repeater frequencies and the PL to program in and you'll be set. It pretty much doesn't matter what part of Las Vegas you're in or Henderson or Pahrump or Boulder City. We got Mountain, we got like. How many do we have? We got four. We have four mountaintop repeaters that overlook the entire southern part of, you know, the whole Las Vegas metro area. So we cover pretty much every. Everything.
Speaker A: That dentist I go to down there is out on Rainbow.
Speaker B: Okay, Rainbow. And what's the inner cross street deal?
Speaker A: So we're bike. I know we go by Sahara, so it's out there a way and then. Yeah, we go by Sahara and then we tie into. We have to go on down a way past Sahara and he's down in there somewhere. I don't know what the address is.
Speaker B: Saharan Rainbow, south of there. That's fine. I mean yeah, we've got. Matter of fact probably his. I think probably at least two to three of our mountaintops would saturate that area. So you're not gonna have any problem at all.
Speaker A: Sounds good. I'll be looking forward to it. I'll let you know when we have that date if you're down there.
Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, we live. We live around the Centennial Hills area in the northwest part of town. So that's not too far away. But yeah, I will. I'll get on the computer and I will send you the frequencies you can program into into your hd.
Speaker A: That'll be good. In Jill land. I'll be in touch. We'll talk to you later. This is K7BVI 73.
Speaker B: Yeah, okay, good. Have a good fresh evening and thanks for the shout. In fact I'm gonna go get on the 75 meter net here real quick. N7 candy lost.
Speaker A: Wa1 ren mobile w e6a x n repeater. Okay, I'm turning down my. My working wa1ner wa1ren go ahead.
Speaker B: I'm in Live Oak right now heading
Speaker C: home
Speaker A: and I finally got my mute going. Mute. Ho. Paula, you got your what? Going mute, mute. Mute on the TV going.
Speaker B: Oh, the mute.
Speaker A: Okay. Said hello, Paula.
Speaker B: Hello.
Speaker C: How are you
Speaker A: doing? Sounds like you're way across the. Way across the cab of the truck. No, you're not driving. You're, you're, you're, you're sitting over on the other side.
Speaker C: I'm the passenger with two people.
Speaker A: There you go. Okay, I guess, I guess we got third party traffic, don't we? Yeah. Sitting across the. On the other side. What did you find in the store for dinner?
Speaker C: Air chilled chicken breast.
Speaker A: Kind of chicken breast.
Speaker C: Air chilled organic air.
Speaker A: Air filled. Never heard of air filled chicken breast.
Speaker C: No, it's air and then it's chilled. Like chilly cold air Chilled air chilled.
Speaker A: But I've never heard of that.
Speaker B: Yeah, guess it's hung on racks and cooled.
Speaker A: Whatever. I've, I've never heard of that. Well, I'd like to hear more about that. Okay, well, sounds like you're gonna get something. I don't know what that is.
Speaker B: I guess it's like we. When we hang deer out after we've skin them out. You're.
Speaker A: You're down. Down to Live Oak already.
Speaker B: Almost just going past Sunset Molding,
Speaker A: Man. You're already past Live Oak. You're by my old work 20.
Speaker B: Yep, I'm past there now. I'll be in Yuba City in probably about two minutes.
Speaker A: Oh, you're not going to be in Yuba City in about two minutes. You're going to be a little longer than that. Unless you're doing 100 miles an hour.
Speaker B: Almost to one more crossing right now.
Speaker A: Doing flying.
Speaker B: No, you're on speed limit. Not a lot of traffic out here. At least going our way.
Speaker A: Pretty quiet now, huh?
Speaker B: Yeah, just about to hit the railroad track.
Speaker A: Another five minutes, you'll be. You'll be pulling up in the driveway. Not my driveway. Your driveway. Yeah. Pasquinis is packed. Going. You'll be going almost by Mike's house. The other mic. Not. Not the 210, Mike. The other mic. Okay.
Speaker B: I'm not sure where he lives.
Speaker A: Well, if you took the queen and were to turn right instead of left to go to your house, you go right, you go down just a couple houses down. I don't know. On the left hand side. That's where Mike lives. Who I'm talking about the red headed Mike.
Speaker B: Yeah. I'm not going to Queensville.
Speaker A: I'll take you your road. Okay, you're gonna go, you're gonna cut off so you can take the frontage road.
Speaker B: Yeah, I'll take on spot down to Northgate.
Speaker A: There you go. Okay, you got it. Hey, then I'll let you go. Oh, does the lights going off for the computer? No.
Speaker B: So have to make put the miles on here.
Speaker A: Excuse me. I had to mess. I yawned. It was a big yawn. Okay, I'll let you go and we'll catch up with you a little bit later.
Speaker B: Okay. Turning on the eager WA1RN clear.

Do you have that list? Not sure who's supposed to do it. I know I do it the second Tuesday of the month. This is the first Tuesday. But I guess I could go ahead and start doing it. I was thinking it was either Jim or. I'm drawing a blank right now. The fellow from Glenn county. On the fourth night. Sorry about that. I'm having a senior moment. Okay, well, why don't I go ahead and try to run it? Or run it. I've got the script here before me and. Just go ahead. QST, QST, QST. This is Larry, KF6NCX, located in Chico, your net control station for tonight's Golden Empire Amateur Radio Society Club Net. This net beats every Tuesday evening at 7:30pm on the W6RHC repeater. For the purpose of fellowship and public service through amateur radio. Is there any station with emergency or priority traffic? Are there any general announcements for the net? Do you have an announcement for the net? Please respond with your call sign. Okay, it's time for roll call and check ins. When checking in, please give your call sign name and location. Please key up for a full second before speaking due to the repeater lag time. Just give me one second here. I gotta take care of one little thing here so we can do the roll call. Just please hang on for a second.
Kr6ncx. This is k6gab. I was thinking so, but I don't have the list of who's supposed to do which night. Do you have that. That list?
Okay, I'm back. We'll start with kn6pww, Jamie. K6est, Kg6 kuo, Lester. This is kg6 ko Lester in Willows. And I gonna have to say I'm gonna be in and out tonight because I've got another job I'm working in. Okay, well, thanks for checking in, Lester, and I'm sorry that I forgot your name earlier. Please accept my apologies. Getting old here. Next is kf6ncx. That's me, Larry and Chico. And I'm doing the the net tonight being net control. How about W6JF. And 6QXL? KN 6QXL. Daryl, Butte Valley. I will be in. I do have one announcement for the nav since none of the other officers are on. Okay, thanks, Darrell. We'll get back to you and you can make that announcement. Thanks for the check in. K7 KFS. 86 Lok. Good evening, Larry and the net. Kilo Delta 6 Lima, Oscar Kilo Doug here on Dry Nimshu Ridge tonight. Thanks for picking the Net up, Larry. We do appreciate it. I have a question for the board. How do we get a spot on the web page to pay my dues? That's about it. Happy holidays, everyone. 73, Katie 6lok. Okay, thanks, Doug. Are you asking how we put something. We should put something on the net on the website saying how you pay your dues? That's what I'm asking. I'm not a PayPal fan, but I know a couple of other groups that I do belong to use a PayPal anyway and I get a receipt from PayPal even though they say that you're not using PayPal directly. So I know it's possible, I just don't know how to do it and I'd like to pay my dues. Okay, well, we appreciate you wanting to pay your dues and I'll. I'll get a message to the powers that be about putting something on there. I think one way to pay the dues and the way I do it, I didn't fool around with PayPal. I just sent a check for $20 to do made out to Gears and sent it to Jim, the treasurer and I think our address is on the website. But you've got a good point. There should be something on there informing everybody about how to pay dues. So I'll get the word to the president and so forth. Thank you. Thank you. Last year I actually got a hold of Jim and he made a phone call to him and we did it over the. Over the phone. But if it if there was a link to the. To a spot on the web page, it would make it easier. Katie6lok. Right? Oh, good. Good suggestion. Good suggestion, Doug. I'll pass it along. About N60 UK. Well, good evening. Good evening to you. Internet. I just kind of caught me off guard here. I had the volume down. I thought I heard somebody talking. It was. Was dug there, so I turned the volume up. Anyway, just check me in and out. You guys have a good net seven three, everybody. 60 UK corn. Thanks, Clarence. Thanks for the check in and we appreciate it. You have a good evening. K6 gab. Hey, good evening. This is k6 jb. Greg in north chico. I will have some comments this evening. Thanks. Okay, thanks, Greg. We'll look forward to hearing from you a little later. How about KN6PJU. And kc6ufe? C6ufe? Bill and cape. Good evening. Larry and the group. Check me in, put me on the list. Okay, bill, consider yourself checked in. You're on the list. Next is kn6jht. How about kb6cyj? Kb6cyj. Scott here in Chico. We're expecting rain tomorrow. Yuck. Everybody have a great day. Okay, thanks, Scott. Thanks for the check in. Too bad about the rain. I agree with you. You have a good evening. Kj6 we x. Aj6wv. Aj6wb can enduro. Sorry, was that. Was that you, Ken? AJ6WV. That's me. AJ6WB can endurham. Okay, thanks, Ken. Are you gonna be with us tonight or should I check you in and out? In and out is the right answer. Thank you. Have a good evening. Okay, you have a good evening too. Thanks for the check in. How about kn6kwm? Kn6kwm. Dan denim, biggs. I'll be in and out. Okay, thank you, dan. Thanks for the check in. You have a good night. Six jlx. Last on our list is ko6kkw. Okay, that's the regular list here. Are there any late members or visitors who want to check in? KN6PJU. Matt from Chicago, KN6PJU. Can I get your name? Dennis W. KN6PJU. And I'm sorry, it looks like I doubled with Matt. So Matt's trying to get into. Okay, And Dennis, are you gonna be with us tonight or are you in and out? In and out. I'm switching over to the GMRS net in a few minutes. Okay, thanks for the check in and have a good net on gmrf. Okay. And the other station that tried to check in? Yeah, this is K06L U M Matt from Chico. Ko6l u m. Thanks Matt, for the check in. Will you be in and out or you're going to be with us? I'll be with you tonight until close to that 8 o' clock time when the GMRS net is going to be up. Okay, well thanks for the. Thanks for the check in. That's everyone, I think. So now it's time for the swap segment. If you have a ham radio related item to sell, trade giveaway or that you want, please respond with your call sign. Okay, go ahead. K6 Gab Greg, what do you got there? So I'm actually doing kind of an early spring cleaning. I've got a number of items including a true SDX, one of the little QRP radios. I've got a 30amp, 12 volt power supply. I've got FT60R handheld and a couple of mobiles. The details are all on my website is k6gab.com and you can send me an email at k6gaboutlook.com if you. If you're interested in your question. Okay, great. It's all on your website, k6gab.com all right, thanks Greg. If people know where to go to look for what you've got available there. Sounds good. Anyone else with anything to for the swap segment? Okay, well, before we start the roundtable, would anyone else like to check in. K7kss? Kevin and Chico? And I'm in and out, Larry. Thank you. Okay, thanks Kevin. Good to hear from you. You have a good evening. Anybody else wanting to check in? Members, visitors, anyone? K6YLH mobile in Santa Cruz? K6YLH mobile. Good evening. J Evan, are you gonna be around for the net or are you just checking in and out? I'll be around. Okay, good deal. Thanks for the check in. All right, well let's go ahead and do the roundtable. Maybe I'll start with Matt Ko6L U M since he wants to break away and get on that other net. How are you doing, Matt? What do you, what have you been up to and what do you got for the net? Thanks. I'm a new technician license as of basically the start of the new year and years a few days ago. So just excited to learn and participate whenever I can. Well, that's great. That's the good spirit. And where are you living specifically in town here in Chico, Is that what you're asking? Yeah, that's what I meant. Usually when or at some point here we give our location. So that would be Chico. Okay, thanks Very much, and thanks. Good luck to you. And we'll look forward to meeting you at the next year's meeting later this month, if you can make it. Welcome. Have a good evening. And going down the list here, KN6QXL, you're up next, I believe. Thank you, Larry. K and 6QXL, we are going to do a poda in January on the 24th at the Four Bay. I'm gonna say 2 o' clock or 1400 with the board meeting, we decided we'd go ahead and give it a try and see how it works out. So that's the information I had for the group. Thank you. Hey, thanks, Darrell. That's good to know. Around 2pm on the 20 at the four bay. Well, that should be fun. That's a good location. Good to hear that. K6G, a B, you're up next. Greg, you have any more for us? Yeah, I was going to say that. I know that Gears has also got an account with a different credit card processor. So people don't want to interact with PayPal. If they send an email to gears.w6rhcmail.com they ought to be able to get in touch with Jim, who should be able to facilitate doing the credit card the other way around. The other thing, I had a nice trip up to paradise on Saturday, other than the rain. They had a yagi antenna build, and I learned how to build an antenna out of PVT pipe and an old tape measure. So that was pretty cool. And that's pretty much what I'm up to this week. Okay, well, good deal. Good to hear about. Good to hear that information on how to get in touch with Jim and the event in Paradise. Sounds. Sounds good. What kind of a yaggy did you guys make? Is it for VHF? Yeah, everybody was building a VHS, you know, centered right around 145, 146 megahertz. You know, they could be doing them for other frequencies, too, but that's where we started. Well, that sounds pretty cool. Making it out of. It's actually made out of a tape measure, huh? Yeah. We cut up the tape measure blade and the, you know, precise length and mounted them at specific spots on the PVC pipes. And none. It really worked out pretty well. Somebody brought up a device to check them out, and everybody that did the ore came out pretty good. We have to do some soldering to connect the lengths of tape measure. Yeah, the driven element had a little gap in between it that needed to be joined with a hairpin. And then that's where the two terminals for the antenna connection also went so there was a little bit of soldering but it wasn't bad. It sounds like a great project. Thanks for the information. Good deal. Okay, next is KC6UFE. KC6UFE bill in Cape Good evening everyone. Well looks like major portion of the rain is over and the river is going to start coming down this evening and get down below the flood stage. The dips flooded and they're coming down and so hopefully everything will get back to normal and nothing really major in the future proposed yet but it's coming for sure. We've got a melt off coming, you know the spring melt and all that good stuff. And also we lost a couple of good people this just recently. One of them was our congressional representative for the area Douglas Malfa passed away and the other was a guy named Ron Thomas out of Gridley, WB6IAG just recently passed. He was in his 90s so he was quite a an amateur radio personality. He'll be missing not much else. Back to you Larry. KC6UFE okay, thanks Bill. Thanks for the information in the comments. Yeah, it'll be good to have things get back to normal weather wise. The the creeks are really running high that's for sure. How about k6ylh mobile in santa cruz? Yeah, good evening, this is YLH Mobile coming to the repeater via Echolink and just driving home from work. Glad to be able to join the net. Been doing a little operating, did a bit of the ARRL ready roundup over the weekend and looking forward to the North American Cuso party VW this upcoming weekend. So some good contests that conditions have been good. So that's about it from me. I'll wish everyone A good evening and 73 from okay, thanks Jevin. Good to hear from you on the road down there. You have a good evening. Well last on the list is me, kf6ncx net command.
Hey, good evening. This is K6JB Greg in North Chico. I will have some comments this evening. Thanks.
K6gab. So I'm actually doing kind of an early spring cleaning. I've got a number of items, including a true SDX, one of the little QRP radios. I've got a 30amp, 12 volt power supply. I've got FT60R handheld and a couple of mobiles. The details are all on my website is k6gab.com and you can send me an email at k6gab@outlook.com if you're interested or if you've got questions.
Yeah, I was gonna say that. I know that Gears has also got an account with a different credit card processor. So if people don't want to interact with PayPal, if they send an email to gears w6rhcmail.com they ought to be able to get in touch with Jim, who should be able to facilitate doing the credit card the other way around. Speaker B: pretty good. Yeah, the
Speaker A: driven element had a little gap in between it that needed to be joined with a hairpin, and then that's where the. The two terminals for the antenna connection also went. So there was a little bit of soldering, but it wasn't bad.
For tonight, I've been playing around with this month long special event called Straight Key Month. Where a bunch of people have been designated as special event stations. They get on the air and call CQ and the rest of us who are participating try to work them. It's been pretty good. The bands have been decent. And mostly when I get on, I can usually find somebody who's calling cq. It's not always easy to work them because there's often a number of people trying to work them at the same time. So I have to wait my turn or try to sneak in there. But it's been fun. I've been having a good time with that. Well, that's about it for me and looks like about it for the Net. Is there anybody else who wants to check in? Anybody at all? Please come with your call sign now if you're out there wanting to check in. Okay, it looks like we've exhausted everybody, if that's the right term to use. I hope you're not too exhausted. And if no one has anything else to say. Anybody have any additional comments? Anyone want to make a remark or anything? Just now's your chance. Okay, nothing hurt. So we'll close down the Net for this week. This concludes this week's Golden Empire Amateur Radio Society Club Net. Thank you to everyone who checked in tonight. You're invited back next week. This is Larry KFC6NCX returning the W6RHC repeater to its normal monitoring service. The Net is closed at 7:58pM73 to all KF6 NCX is clear.

Speaker B: in Pacifica?
Speaker C: The name here is Keith.
Speaker A: Located in Caldwell, Idaho, just about 12
Speaker C: miles from Nampa or a little ways from Boise.
Speaker A: Back to you and your call wrote down here and get your name there. His name is Frank. Call is N6FG.
Speaker B: N6FG.
Speaker A: And I'm here in Pacifica which is south of San Francisco on the coast. I'm back away from the coast Tibetan and I try to monitor all the time and successive. Discovered something about EchoLink I didn't know you can put in not only the call. I got apps on my phone here and you can put in the call but I didn't know you could put in the number as well. And that's how I found your link from some paperwork here in order to connect to that one. Yeah, the echo link number got a six number digit. So that's what I've been doing. I'm just out here in my garage cleaning up and getting ready to put a cover on a receiver of mine. Call and say radio KH Express EW
Speaker C: her name is Keith K E I
Speaker A: C H and back to you there
Speaker C: Eich. Is that correct?
Speaker A: It's Kilo Bento, India Tom Hotel E. That's good.
Speaker B: Okay.
Speaker A: Yeah, you're making it fine through the system. I listened without having the system on and when I heard you I knew you were way, way far gone. So I switched over to the what they call Carla group that. Moved up here to Idaho a couple of years ago and I live there in Napa right there in the Bay Area. Right there. And I used to talk on the tower link system down that way. But they don't have anything other than the echo link up here I guess through my phone. So far I haven't. I've had very little experience doing it with my radio but I'm going to get back into doing that and try to use the node links and stuff to connect. Yeah, it's pretty cold up here. We haven't got no snow in the valley, but we've got snow on the hills upper around here. But yeah. So that's the situation up here, khfew. Yeah. I mean the hills have gray hair like we have. Yeah. Okay.
Speaker D: Frank.
Speaker A: Yeah. We might connect with Mount Diablo one of these nights and try this out. It's kind of interesting that I could. I didn't know that I could put the node numbers in here and make it work in order to get there if I didn't know the Calls, you know, or something like. I can put in a node number and at least know why I'm connecting here with the paperwork I have here. So we'll let you go. And you have a good day. I hope you got warm temperatures down there. It's not warm up here, that's for sure. Stay safe. Six Few.
Speaker D: Back to you there.

Then give it a try and get the best better and easier each time. So. And I'm pulling up to my destination here. So I'm going to jump out and have a good rest of your day.

Speaker C: And I'll throw in a quick hello and welcome to the hobby and hello, Tom. She's a new guy there. If you're married, you may want to get yourself a credit card in Your name. Because ham radio can be very expensive and you may want to buy some stuff that you don't want your wife to know about if you're single. Congratulations and enjoy the hobby. The Name here is Ken N6KN. It looks like you're coming in on the Las Vegas, but you're super clear. Are you coming in, you're using a radio and a repeater or are you using some other means?
Speaker A: Go ahead.
Speaker D: Hey, thanks Ken. Good Thursday. Yeah. I'm coming off of repeater and out of Nevada and yeah, I, I just got everything figured today. I'm trying to get my EMR stuff set up now. I'm just waiting on Brand Mike here to come through. But yeah, other than that.
Speaker A: All right. Okay. Well, welcome to the Las Vegas system.
Speaker C: And we have to figure it out. The Las Vegas system is connected to the CARLA system California. It's a California system guarantee. California Amateur Radio Linking Association. And there's some pretty high tech stuff going on here. So yeah, this will, this will be a great place for you to get your feet wet.
Speaker B: Take care.
Speaker C: Good to meet you. And believe it or not, I'm down here in Genalta, Columbia.
Speaker A: Columbia, South America.
Speaker C: Take care.
Speaker D: Of. Wow, that's awesome. Ken just makes even more excited that I can speak to somebody all the way in Columbia when I'm just sitting here in my recliner. So very good. I'm happy to get my call sign everything going. So the single part. Definitely single. Throwing some money at it now and looking to upgrade. But thanks again and good talking with you. KM70.
Speaker A: Just one more little bit of information.
Speaker C: You may have already heard it while monitoring or you may hear it because very near future if the Las Vegas area or any of the counties in California is experiencing weather or weather alerts that come out over the National Weather Service. Those events involving anything flood or flood watch or earthquake.
Speaker A: What else is there? There's
Speaker C: some others.
Speaker A: We blocked a lot of stuff because
Speaker C: there's just a whole bunch. But right now the biggest concern or was the biggest concern was back here in the last week was flooding. So yeah, flooding and earthquakes, you may hear that. Especially if the weather picks up again, you may hear more floods. And then for the Las Vegas area you may hear some flash floods, flash flood alerts. So if you hear that, you want to open up a webpage somewhere and take a look, see what the flash floods are compared to where you are. Okay, take care and again enjoy and welcome to the system. N6 knew.
Speaker D: Thanks for the helpful information. Copy that. Definitely in a big learning phase. Like it's fun soaking everything up. So I appreciate you guys insight on the things and I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions moving forward and probably learn a lot here every day. So thanks again. 7 DFO,
