Speaker A: Jk6vzd mobile,
Speaker B: Kk6vzd.ko6Vgy. I put a call out about 10, 15 seconds ago and you're out there now. So happy Wednesday. Homeward bound. I'm already back to the GTA and relaxing with the scotch. It's one of those days.
Speaker A: Okay. All right. I don't need a scotch. 12 days.
Speaker B: Hey, that's a, that's a great number. It'll get better as it goes down. But boy, congratulations on the long journey there. That's awesome.
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I should say 12 working days. And you know, that doesn't include the two vacation days I have to take at the end of the month, but those are vacation days, so there's still 12. Only 12 working days left.
Speaker B: Did you happen to by chance make it to where the last two vacation days or your last two days? So you're actually not at work the last two days?
Speaker A: That's correct. I will be off the 20th, the 30th and the 31st. This is interesting. There's a guy coming into the parking lot here and he doesn't want to bottom out his Mustang, so he kind of came in to the, to the parking lot diagonally. So all four. So you know, it's front two tires wouldn't bottom out in the dip and then the back two tires. But like really, guy,
Speaker B: we've got a set of those dips here in town and it's, I mean, even regular, I mean they go into your lane or they look like they're going to make a right hand turn at a four way intersection with the dips and they almost make that right, then they cut back over and it's like you. Yeah, I don't understand at all. If you wanted a car that low, you should figure out where you can and can't go because that's just ridiculous. Blowing everybody up and potentially going into the wrong lane of traffic so that way they don't scratch their beautiful car.
Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Well, this one wasn't even that low. And then of course when he came, when he got past that, he had to goose the throttle film.
Speaker B: Yeah, that's cool that. I don't know, Some people, they just, they do what they want. Now here goes one of those four door Broncos. Idiot.
Speaker A: Well, you know, a Bronco. A Bronco is not a four door. So I have a trou. I have trouble with those. I mean, I guess they're an all right vehicle, but Bronco is not a four door. It was a two door.
Speaker B: Agreed. Same thing when they did the Electric Mustang, the mock Mustang or Mach E, whatever that. It's a mock Mustang is what it is. It's not even a real Mustang because obviously a Mustang has two doors and it's like. I mean it's a, I mean for a car. It is what it is. If they want to. New Ford Tempo, I don't know. That sells really good. Throwing the Mustang badge on there. Not in, not in my favor.
Speaker A: Well, what was that? That was a cheap way to be able to sell vehicles. Because a Mustang was not a four door suv.
Speaker B: No, just like the, the Blazer. That was never a four door. The. I'm sure the rear passengers would have liked that. But bucket seats if I remember correctly. So you just pop a lever, the bucket seat goes up or the bench seat just goes up and you get into those big SUVs, those old school SUVs. Pretty easy
Speaker A: with the big long doors. Yes. Oh yeah. And I'm just going to throw this out there. The Jeep. Jeep did not come as. It was not built as a four door nor a hardtop.
Speaker B: Somebody with their truck going by, making noise. Nor did it have a pickup bed on it per se. The. It didn't have. I mean it had that little tiny space in the back. Willie's Jeep and stuff. But yeah, no, those four door Jeeps are hideous too. And the gladiator truck, I'm like, no. And then people buy those and then they're afraid to go use them for what they were intended for. So no, don't, don't look at my car. It'll crash. It's like here you got people in a freaking old beat up Toyota pickup truck going off road, going to the dump and stuff.
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. I, I worked with a guy that he had, he had a Ford Escort. What it was a GR3, I think XR3, you know, hot rodded little Ford Escort hatchback, which is really kind of a neat vehicle. And he went out and he bought himself a Toyota. They weren't Tacomas. It was just a Toyota pickup truck. Four wheel drive with, with a roll bar and a light bar on it and stuff. Never intending to take it off road just because it looked cool.
Speaker B: That's awesome. There's a guy here in Calusa who's got a couple rare cars. One I believe is a. Trillion1. The name is escaping.
Speaker A: Well, here I am in the arrogance, just lambasting things.
Speaker B: Okay. It was actually the Subaru Brat, the bi drive recreational all terrain transporter. Looks like a very squatted. If you can make an El Camino Any smaller. Kind of like that hideous looking thing. There's one here in town. It's like a vomit green and yeah, he's bright and joy apparently.
Speaker A: Oh yeah, with a two. With the two bucket seats in the bed.
Speaker B: That's one.
Speaker A: Yeah, they were kind of weird looking, that's for sure. So, yeah, I have no plans for tonight. I think I'll go home and just lounge. My wife will have something for me to do, I'm sure.
Speaker B: Well, currently I'm supervising my brother mow the lawn. I'm just outside and he's doing the work so he doesn't know I'm supervising. He's really particular about the yard. I mean it is what it is, so it gets me out of mowing it. So apparently I broke a mower years ago, but I don't remember.
Speaker A: Well, all right. If he wants to be particular and do it, you know, I don't trust you. I'll do it myself. Okay,
Speaker B: I've at it. But anyway, I'm going to head back inside and you're probably close to destination, so seven three for now.
Speaker A: Chris.
Speaker B: KK6VZD, this is K06VZY, all say 73.
Speaker A: All right, all right. Have a great evening. Take a sip of that Whiskey for me. KK6VZD, clear.

Good morning. Good morning. And how's your day starting? It's starting. I don't know whether I'm ready or not, but. Little bit chilly out. How about you? Another day closer to retirement. Nice morning. Yeah, a little bit chilly, but that's okay. What is this, 13 days left? 12. 12, better yet. All right, well, if you have your morning coffee and everything, ready to. Not yet. I'll get my coffee when I get to work. I didn't get it timed quite right to have some at home. Ah, what a drag. Yeah, I gotta have it. I'm addicted. I'm just a slave to my senses. Coffee. You know what I really love is some kind of a treat with coffee. I'm just dreaming right now, but like a maple bar strawberry shortcake, apple pie and ice cream. You get the idea. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. I could either do an apple, fruit or a chocolate covered buttermilk bar, which is just really great. A chocolate filled what? Butterfield bar? No, chocolate covered buttermilk bar. You kind of lost me here. What are we talking about? What's a buttermilk bar? Sort of a donut, except it's not round and it doesn't have a hole in it. And I guess it's a. It's sort of like an old fashioned donut made with buttermilk. So it's really dense. Wow. But shaped like a donut with no hole. It's a bar. Like a. Like a maple bar. A little shorter and a little fat. A little wider. But yes, a bar. And yeah, it's been one of my favorites for years and years. And I'm not sure that I can do it much better. More justice in description than that. But it's not covered. It's not filled. It's covered. It's got icing on the top. It sounds good, but I've never heard of it, really. Sorry. You know, but I've heard of jellyfill. There's. And bear claws, about the whole, whole gamut there. Oh, I could do with a Bavarian cream filled. That would be good. Well, where do you get these? There's a couple of places around here. Donut shop. And of course they don't have anything jelly filled. They don't have any cream filled or anything like that. But they've got, you know, sugar donuts and the donuts with sprinkles. Where do you get that butter bar? There's a donut shop over in Linda, just across the river from Marysville that I used to go to. Wow. This is telling my age. When I Was stationed at Beale a long time ago. I used to have to pick up three dozen donuts for our sergeants association to sell at work to make money to have programs for the younger enlisted guys. Yeah, make money pay for menthols and stuff. I know. Well, you know, there's something, I believe that happens if you want something, say you see something at a garage sale or a store and you go, oh, wow, hey, look at that. Oh, I had one of those when I was a kid. And you don't buy it and you go back later and it's gone. You've created a thwarted desire. But sometimes it's better. There are those things and you buy them and you get them home, and it's really kind of fun to have them for a while. And then it's like this is just taking up space. I recently bought a cheap kids walkie talkie off of ebay because I had had the exact same one when I was like six years old. When you were six years old, and then you bought it again on ebay. Yeah, this is last year. It was a. It was a sears branded walkie talkie. It's the first radio I ever owned, Actually. That's pretty cool. You know, I wouldn't mind that. I. I've got memorabilia, you know, on shelves and stuff like that and. And I will build dioramas of motorcycles, military vehicles. I love military vehicles. I did a drawing that I sent to Paul out here. Yellow, green, whatever he is. He really liked it. Yeah, I would love to have an old world war ii jeep. Really? Really, really? Yeah, it would be a fun. And it would be nothing but a toy to me, but it would be a lot of fun to have. Hey, I've talked to a guy out here that had a couple of jeeps, I think vintage, you know, World War II type of thing. Oh, yeah, I would love it, man. I'd go out, work on it, put on some military music on the radio. I don't know what happened is, but KD6 Lok Doug up in Nimshu, he had used to have a couple of jeeps. I think they perished in the paradise winter. Oh, yeah, Doug, I've heard him quite a bit. I haven't met him, but yeah, he's a nice guy. He also gets on GMRs. Yeah, yeah, he would. Yeah, yeah. Like I said, there's probably too many things that I have just because I had them when I was younger and I don't really use them or need them, but you know, it's a memory. It's A memory prompter. The only thing is, Chris, one day you're gonna pass on. And I'm kind of looking around, and my son, he also looks around, he goes, oh, God. You know, I've got a lot of stuff, music equipment. But part of it is I have a couple of firearms, and my son doesn't want them. He lives in Oakland. And he says, you know, just having it, you know, the cops will kill you. WP6A X and repeater. Yes, yes, I've got a couple of firearms myself, but fortunately, my son has a few of his own. And I don't think he'll mind having the ones that I have to pass on to him when it comes time. Oh, my dad passed on to me and my son a Colt Officers Special from World War II. It's just trying to think of the name of it. Damn it. But it's a little.32 caliber magazine fed, eight round. And I hear now they're worth about eight, ten grand. Wow. It was. It was the Colt Commander. You know, one day I'm going to be talking like this. What? And I'm not kidding, I don't remember. But it's nice little pistol, works cold. The only trouble is try to get ammo. Yeah, well, yes, and just going to say try and get ammo, no matter how popular it is, is a process of buying ammo nowadays is just a pain. Oh, and the gendarmes want to know how much you buy what you're doing. And if you buy more than like a thousand rounds, that includes.22s, they want to know what you're doing. Duh. I'm going to the range. I'm hunting. Oh, hello. Yeah. Yeah. Well, unfortunately. Unfortunately, part of the world that we live in, well, I've. I have destiny. So since I have not had my cup of coffee this morning, I'm eager to get inside and get my cup of coffee. So I will wish you a good day and look forward to talking to you next time. Have a great day. 73 KK6VZD. Clear.

Jeff.k6psyai6us. 83 Chu copy. Got a partial call there. You were kind of picket fencing or packet loss. Chu, go ahead.
Speaker C: Hey, good morning Brian, this is Chuck and I just wanted to connect with you again and I think I got everything squared away with the node and I also got the almond free up and running. And I appreciate all your help yesterday.
Speaker A: Hey, good morning, Chuck. Yeah, no, absolutely.
Speaker C: Well, good.
Speaker A: Glad to hear you got everything dialed in. What do you think of Allmon 3? Pretty slick interface.
Speaker C: Yeah, that is definitely. I'm glad I have that up and running.
Speaker A: It's nice.
Speaker C: You can connect through that and you can see the bubble Chart.
Speaker A: Yeah.
Speaker C: So I've been messing around with it a little bit. Yeah, just probably about 15 minutes ago, I hopped on here. I just got home from work. I went to work today. It was 62 degrees. I got home before, and it's 38 degrees. So it's classic Pennsylvania weather.
Speaker A: Yeah, I heard you guys were going to be dipping down here. Temperature again. So much for early spring.
Speaker C: Well, good. Well, glad.
Speaker A: Glad you were able to get everything set up. Yeah, the Almond 3, just a great tool for connecting, disconnecting, and building a favorites list and whatever you want to do. And the great thing is, you know, with each mf, you're not able to drop out if you have a carrier going on. Like, if you're in the middle of a net or something, you know, you just aren't able to drop. Get into your node, even drop off. And that's where, like, all mon comes in really handy to be able to kind of navigate around. Well, I got up this morning, it was 50, I think, 48 degrees, and we're gonna have a beautiful day. I was gonna check to see what it is now. Like, good. Ham radio operator. I got a weather station several years ago. I just didn't feel like I was complete without it.
Speaker C: Yeah, I set up a weather station a couple years ago. I'm just going to have to consolidate because the weather station is in one location, and there's stuff in other locations. I got to get everything into this. My mini ham shack here.
Speaker A: Downsizing right now?
Speaker C: No, I think it's gonna end up being the other direction. Now that I got my ticket and I'm getting into this, I might outgrow this little room. Yep.
Speaker A: I share my office for my business with the. With the ham shack, and the ham shack is definitely winning. All right. Hey, I need to hop out of here, but I'm glad. Hey, thanks for checking in and. And glad that you got everything set up and you didn't have any problem setting up all on three. I assume it's pretty straightforward.
Speaker C: After watching the video. And then I would pause the video and go through step by step. There's subtle little changes. Just for instance, when I was entering, say, the new password, you can't see the password, but it's actually accepting it. So that kind of threw me off a little bit. But I trudged on and I got it figured out, and, you know, all in all, wasn't too bad. I've had worse hurdles with computers.
Speaker A: Yeah, certainly glad that YouTube University is around. I. I rely on it quite, quite often. All Right, Chuck. Well, you have a wonderful day. Thanks for checking in this morning. I. I was just looking through the coffee break list and I. Looks like you were the last one checking in on the list today. So. So glad to see you dropping back by today. KD3CHU AI6US. You have a great day.
Speaker C: Okay, Brian, I definitely just wanted to get in touch with you. I know a lot of times, you know, we try to give people a hand and you never hear from them again. But I just wanted to get back in there and make sure. I got to tell you that I appreciate that help. So you have a great day. Also enjoy your great weather you're gonna have. We're gonna make do with ours like we always do. But it will get better, that's for sure. It has no choice. 73 say ya buddy. Have a good day.
Speaker A: In a few months from now we'll be looking back on this time going, man, I wish we had that cooler temperature again. No, I appreciate you getting back to me. I come from industry of providing technical support for folks who have bought satellite equipment from me. And yeah, quite often you hear very vocally when something is wrong and then you never hear the resolution. So I really appreciate that. You have a great day. Ai6us I'll be. Okay.
Speaker C: Kd3chu we're clear. Also.

Speaker A: Hey, michael, paul here. W6p and h. How are you doing?
Speaker B: I just wanted to call on the repeater to check, see if there's any fires.
Speaker A: Your signal's a little bit choppy, so I didn't quite catch all that. Are you mobile or on your hd?
Speaker B: Mobile. Out of Chico. Mobile. Chico, this is Kilo Oscar 6. Mobile out of Chico.
Speaker A: Yeah. Well, good to hear you.
Speaker C: Yeah.
Speaker A: You're making the repeater from there, so that's great. Yeah, I just heard you out and thought I'd say hi.
Speaker B: Got it. Thank you. W16. H. Thanks. T& H. Just wanted to range test it on 2 watts.
Speaker C: Oh, wow.
Speaker A: Yeah, so 2 watts, that's. You're making it. But, yeah, it's just a little bit staticky, so, you know, that might be a good time to bump it up if you needed to talk.
Speaker B: Got it. Well, thanks.
Speaker A: Have a great day and a safe trip home. W6P and H
Speaker B: checking out.
Speaker A: Yeah, 73 to you. W6P and H. I'll be clear.
Speaker C: W6P and H, KK6VZD.
Speaker A: Hey, Chris, how are you?
Speaker C: Oh, doing all right. Just out for lunch. 12 days left, Paul. 12 days.
Speaker A: Oh, that's. That's pretty nice. Just enjoy the sunshine and try and get used to that. So if you just heard that, that last qso, that was Michael, our applicant last Saturday. He's got his license now and he's trying things out, so it's fun to hear a new ham out there.
Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, I was kind of wondering who that was. It didn't quite catch. I didn't quite catch. I caught the kilo, Oscar 6 and the mu. I was wondering what's his last character. Would be funny if it was D for Delta. Mike Uniform Delta.
Speaker A: Yeah, he missed that one. He's Mike Uniform Hotel.
Speaker C: All right. Okay. Yeah, interesting to hear, too.
Speaker A: Watts.
Speaker C: I'm assuming he was on his old ht. I'd like to find out from him exactly what that was again. And look that up, because he said he got. Got that, what, at a yard sale or something like that. So who knows how old that is?
Speaker A: Well, he said he had a couple of bow fangs and. And then the radio he got at a yard sale. I wasn't sure, but I think maybe that's an HF radio. Michael, if you're still out there, feel free to chime in.
Speaker B: I'm still out here. Kill Oxford sticks. My cune. I'm currently running off the south something.
Speaker A: Yeah, it's tough to catch it. About half of it's dropping out right now. So I don't know if you can bump your watts up, that may help a little. But if you're inside the car with the rubber duck, it's going to be a challenge.
Speaker B: How about this? I'm now standing on a bit of elevation. I'm running a Baofeng UV5R Baofeng UV5R on the 2 watt mode with a Nagoya Nagoya NA320 Alpha antenna.
Speaker A: Nice. Yeah, and you're coming in much nicer right now. Go ahead, Chris, ask away.
Speaker C: If I remember correctly, the 320 Alpha is also rated for 221.25 MHz.
Speaker B: Correct on that. Correct on that. Does do. 220 it. I only have a radio capable of VHF and UHF. So no 220 for me for next foreseeable future.
Speaker C: Technically, 220 is VHF. Gee, I've got an extra. It's a Radiodity GA 510 and it will do 2, 2 meters. 220 and 440. All of them. Sweet.
Speaker B: Sweet. I'm gonna see if I can pick one of those up. But yeah, right now I have a bowel thing that I just have been using for as long as I've had a radio for reception. Now I'm transmitting on it. But yeah, it's time for me to go back into class now. I'm currently at school trying it out on the big school field out of Chico. But yeah, good to hear you out there.
Speaker C: Yeah, all right. At five watts. You're doing great. You're doing great getting to the repeater. So nice to hear you out there. Nice to hear you on the air. We'll talk to you later. 73JK6VZD clear.

That last transmission was very, very scratchy. You grab a different repeater and try it again. I would call that worse. System 19 link up. Yeah, the station on the Las Vegas system. You're very, very scratchy. Who was that masked man? Was that. Was that one of the Mikes? Yeah. Probably got both of us here. Well, one of you is bad enough. Two is. Two is. Yeah, two is terrible. Las Vegas is still keying up. Yeah, the Las Vegas station. You're not making it. Still keying up. Okay, they're done keying up. How you doing? He's trying. Again. Mike. Yep. He was still trying to give him an opening there in that Las Vegas station. Yeah. Find another. Find another port. Either that or more power or more elevation. This was OR is an SWP6 JKV mobile on Highway 101 here, right in the middle of Silicon Valley. All right, well, look at it like this. Tomorrow's Friday. I'm so ready. I was going to comment, see if I got it. I do. I didn't see one. Mice bad enough. But two of us, that's ground secure flyer. Oh, yeah, yeah. One is bad, two is terrible. And three. Holy crap, there's been three. I think there's even been four on here at one time. What happened to the early morning Mike and Mike and Mike show? Oh, Mike and I still always. We had a third Mike join us this morning on the morning commute, which was kind of surprising. So, yeah, we're still here. Oh, okay. I must have been. I must have been surfing around on All Star. I didn't hear you guys this morning. No, we don't trash the entire network. Just one of the local ones. Oh, okay. And you had three mics on the local one or just the two? All three of us local here. One, Mike comes from Daly City. I come from Pacifica, and the other guy comes from, as he put it, depends on which girlfriend's house he spends the night at. But he stays. Nope. Well, that would be. That would be horrible if he was. He was driving around and one of those girlfriends was in the vehicle with him. Only I would do something nice slip like that. But he might even be here as we speak. Hello? Mike's out there on 19th. Speak up. Where the other mic is from this morning, but I'm here. KV6, WC mobile, and traffic in Palo Alto. All right, well, you gentlemen have at it. Good to hear, everybody. I do have to finish up. What? I'm in the middle of here already. Almost seven for us, so. Yeah, I got to finish this up. And then call it a day. All right, I'm gonna go back here to listening. You guys have at it on the lake or local N6KN down here. Beautiful Chinata, Columbia. There's my daughter calling again. I'll be back. Don't repeat the JKV mobile.
