Amateur Radio news I'm reporting number 2524 with a release date of Friday, March 13, 2026 to follow in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The following is a QST the expeditioners face new restrictions on a South Pacific island. The World Radio Sport Team Championship prohibits symbols identifying home nations and a 2 meter simplex challenge for everyone. All this and more as Amateur radio newsline report number 2524 comes your way right now from around the world. This is Newsline, Amateur Radio's first independent on the air News and Bulletin Service. Now reporting from Wadsworth, Ohio, Stephen Kenford, NAWB While most every DX chaser's eyes have been on Bovet island in the South Atlantic lately, another D expedition planned for later this month has taken on new importance for activators in the South Pacific. New restrictions will be in force soon that are expected to limit access there. Here's Graham Kemp VK4BB with an update. The Rebel DX group's plans to operate as T31 Tango Tango Tango this month from Canton island in Central Kiribati could well be the last for amateur radio for a long time, according to a report from organizers on the website. DX World Dom 3 Delta 2 USU said the nation's fisheries and environmental officials have put in place a full array of costs affecting visitors. He said that these new permit fees and other requirements will impose a great financial burden on teams. The expeditioners will need to provide accommodation, food and transportation for food more government officials who will need to be present on any future visits to Canton. He said that in simple terms future Canton island the Expeditions will cost about 200000 US dollars, which makes Tango 31 prohibitive. The obstacles are not unlike some of the restrictions the same group of operators face for its hoped for trip to Conway Reef 3 Delta 2 oblique Charlie to trouble the access to 2024 operation there in May of 2024 as 3 Delta 2 Charlie Charlie Charlie. Fiji's Ministry of Fisheries has begun moving forward declaring it a restricted access zone. The group announced in January that with those plans in mind, the hamps are accelerating their plans for an activation there. Meanwhile, the D expeditioners are hoping to get to Canton island and be on the air sometime around March 25. This is square M Kemp BK4BB. Symbols of national pride and national identity are not being permitted at this year's World Radio Sport Team championship. Dave Lee M7TLB brings us up to date. Spectators and participants can expect to see plenty of things at the World Radio Sport Team Championship event in the UK this coming July. There will be antennas, rigs, cables, microphones and six RHC repeater check two.

Kc6 Are you out? Wp6 a x n receiver. What are you doing up so late? Ki650p in Wheatland? Oh, we're at kind of late, so it's gonna be another hour. Starting to doze off now though, so I thought I'd check everything. Mike already went to bed. Okay. I just assumed you were there already or on your way. Not better than running late tonight. All right, well, had a nice visit and had burgers for dinner, played with the grandkids and. And hung out with Jeff and Shannon and had a nice time and almost home. Long day. Greg came by, dropped off at CDM for me that morning. Yeah, he called me when he was on his way to your place from Folsom and said he was heading over there. Actually, he called me first time right around 9:30 when I was getting ready to hop in the shower to get ready to come up here. So I knew he was in town, but I told him I wasn't going to be here. Well, he's spending the night so I'm not. Of course I'm going to be busy probably most of the day tomorrow, but I might catch up to him. He wanted a couple patches, shoulder patches. Had wanted to give them to him before he left and I forgot all about. So now I got him sitting here. So if I try and give. Give them to him tomorrow or just mail them to him. Okay. I asked him if he was gonna stay the night and he didn't think he was when I talked to him the first time. So maybe I'll catch up with him tomorrow. I don't know what time he's planning on going back. Let me look at this text real quick. Say again? Let me. Let me read his text one more time. Okay. Oh, 2212. He was charging up his car at Douglas and Rocky Ridge. He's offering to stop by, but I. That was the last thing I heard from him. Was he on the Simplex? No, he texted me. Well, text him and see if he's still out and about. I don't know what his. He's probably heading back to his mom's or something, but see if he's still out. I'm surprised he's up this late. He's usually in bed pretty early himself because he gets up early. Yeah. Hey, on that ICOM radio, do you have the radio together? So it's just one piece. It's easier to work on a couple things. I need the little cord that goes between the control head and the radio. And the other thing is there a piece missing to the to make it clip onto the transceiver. Well there probably is to both of those questions but I don't know where they are at the moment. Well, I'll use a go for and then let's see what else I cleaned up that that I cleaned up that B8000 and fired up and it looks like it's doing okay. Just debating on whether I want to buy the software for it or not. Okay. I don't think I ever had any software for that because I was still all kind of new to me when I got that thing and I didn't mess with it so I don't have any. At least I don't remember having any. I'm. I'm. I might have years ago but long gone now. I want to say now that I think about it, I want to say that I did have a disk at some point and I had it on an old computer and that computer is long gone. Well back then it would have been a CD anyway Yep.

Speaker A: Well, looks like you don't have to buy a cable because it's interchangeable
Speaker B: with an Elenco. Okay. I would go use Chirp or something, but I didn't see it on the Chirp list.
Speaker A: So you didn't like Chirp? I don't like it
Speaker C: for
Speaker A: brand new
Speaker C: radios, but I, you know, for that I'll just try it, I guess. But I checked. I checked the listing on there. That isn't the one there.
Speaker B: Anyway, in regards to that 2730
Speaker C: programming it, Do you think it's easier to program it when it's all put together? Well, yeah, A bunch of cables run all over the damn place. You got that big old long USB cable or whatever hell it is, RJ45 cable. And then you got the.
Speaker A: I don't know, it's
Speaker C: just having it in nice one spot is nice. Also
Speaker B: easier
Speaker C: to install. It's such a
Speaker B: small
Speaker A: radio,
Speaker C: there's no sense in
Speaker A: separating it. You got it all together? Well, yeah, except I got the control head mounted on top of that
Speaker C: Harris radio, so it kind of makes it nice and compact. Plus, yeah, it's a small radio, but it still sticks out further than it would if it's just a control head. Kind of blocks that radio. My vehicle radio and all that. All those controls.
Speaker B: Yeah, I suppose so. Since I ordered it
Speaker C: with to be remote. I'll be honest with you, I don't remember if it came any other way because I ordered it specifically for to be remote. So it may have already come that way. I don't even remember. Now what they do is they come. Like when I got mine, it came with the long cord and the short cord, but it did not come with a remote mount kit. In other words, a kit
Speaker A: to mount it to the dashboard. Yeah, I think I had to get that separate.
Speaker C: I remember if I got on ebay or Lido or what where I got it, it might have been a light on lido mount. Well, what you have on there, you just put those two magnets in the back. Yeah, but I had to buy that separate. I think if I remember right.
Speaker A: Oh,
Speaker C: okay, okay.

Speaker A: No. Grant never answered, so he probably went to bed. Yeah, probably. All right, well, thanks for trying. So he's gonna try to come back back by tomorrow for those patches?
Speaker B: Well, I just asked him if he was spending the night, and he resp. That he was going to spend the night and he'd be on the radio later, but he never got on. And I just told him. Well, I found some patches for you. For some reason, we can't. We miss each other. Tomorrow I'll just mail him to him. He's all I said. Okay. Well, he's a early bird, unlike me, so even if he gets up and gets going, probably before I'm ready, and I doubt that he'll stay too long because he's already planned on going back up tonight, last I talked to him, so I might miss him. Anyway, I'll text him when I get up, whenever that's gonna be.
Speaker A: Okay.
Speaker B: All right, we're gonna shut down, then. KC630RO, where you at? Between Lincoln and Rockland. Okay. Yeah, I said I was in my office. That V8000, since I have a cable already, it makes it a lot easier. The Software is just 25 bucks. I'll just download that, make it easy. All righty. All right, well, bid you good night, and I will catch you tomorrow at some point. All right. K66 Rainbow. K650P.

And yes, I charged them up, which is kind of a weird deal. I left them overnight, each one, and. They're kind of weird. The light goes red when you plug it into the charger. And then when it. When it's fully charged, the red light goes out. So I unplug it and plug it back in and it's back red again for over a minute or so. And that I don't sit there and look at it. But eventually, not long after it's out again, I can unplug it and plug it back in and it's red again. So I did that about three times. I'm sure it's fully charged.

Okay. I did find this other part. 3D glasses. 60Hz may flicker if a 50Hz magnetic fluorescent lamp is on. But we don't have any of that. But in relation to the distance, the ideal distance for watching projection is three times of the height relative to to the screen image. Approximately equal to 6.5 to 19.7ft long. Strongly recommended that the height that you wear DLP3D glasses keep the same average level with the screen. That's us. We meet all those requirements.

Speaker A: Yes, I, we did go through that. It distinctly says you can't turn on the 3D in the, in the. You know, when it has sound in the video part, you have to click on that to turn it on, and you have to have already started the playback. And we did
Speaker B: it that way. Well, what
Speaker A: I've noticed, Jay, is that sometimes I could be doing everything perfectly right, and sometimes things don't work. But that's probably true with everybody. But. But it seems like when you're present, things seem to work more often.

2026-03-15 13:58:13 UTC 78.2s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

I don't notice any flicker. But in the side by side comparison, I don't see any difference. And when I go back, when I lift the glasses up and then back down, and then look at the screen and put the glasses back down, I don't see any difference. Anyway, I tried a couple of different things. 8k 4k. I watched that Avatar movie for a little bit. I tried four or five different event, you know, movies, just different things that have 3D and seem like I could see a little bit of difference. And I might have been making up in my head, but definitely in the side by side comparison area, and it has that selection as you're going after in the screen that you turn on the 3D part. Maybe that's why I got this particular unit for twelve hundred dollars less. Maybe that part ain't working.

2026-03-15 14:00:29 UTC 30.7s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Okay, I could try that. I looked at a side by side thing. It was the same image in the left and the right side. So I. I didn't like watching that because I couldn't see any real difference. But I didn't. Ever tried putting the mode of the projector in side by side? I did try the above and below though.

I couldn't get the, I couldn't get the settings screen on the projector to sit to turn on 3D. I pushed every button on the control. So. But when it's up there, the blue dot over in the right side is blue. There's a couple places when you go down to top and bottom or whatever. When you click on it, a little switch turns blue. You know, they, they do different things. They're. It's, it's, it's not the same for every line you choose. So because it always says 3D is in the off position. Even though when you click on has a white background, it still says off, but the little blue dot next to the square box is blue. That is the position it's in. I tried pushing the button twice and holding the button down and I still could never make the 3D. And then underneath that it says off. Even though the blue lights on in the right side, the off is still there.

And I think that's probably what's happening. That's why I never see it go to 3D on. It still says off underneath 3D. Even though the blue light over on the right side is blue when you turn it on and off. No, No. I'm running it off of YouTube through the smart TV Google. Google TV built into the projector. I don't think I have any 3d cds. Yes. And then I, to get to the selection I use the microphone on the remote and I say 3D movies and it goes to 3D movies and all the content and the thumbnails of 3D. Since I've been to the IMAX theater and saw Avatar at the show, I kind of know what it's supposed to look like. Yeah, I'm not going to have Atmos sound and all that. Even though I have 9 point or 10 point Atmos theater with all the speakers and stuff. Very, very rarely. Trevor bought a CD over here one time and it was phenomenal. I tried to get one but they're hard to get nowadays. And the Atmos up next to the ceiling that was spinning one direction and on the bottom speakers, you know, wide front left and right. Wide left and right. And then we got those actual side speakers and the back speakers, they were spinning the other direction. Boy, that, that screwed with your head. I'm going straight out of the nebula with a one direction audio link. HDMI cable to the Marantz in the game mode and the projectors playing on the screen. $129 for a directional hdmi audio ca. 50ft. I might be able to get away with 35 or 40 but I, I read in there they, they have 150 foot ones available. Even 200ft. I got, I got the one I got for like 111 bucks because some. It was an open box but I get the audio through the Marant. You know when I play the Nebula watching Google TV and go to YouTube I can get the sound through the theater. It's amazing. If you go watch music videos, you know how this thing sounds. So it's amazing. 150 inch screen and 12 or 14,000 watt theater.

Speaker A: No TV. The TVs behind the screen and it's in the off position.
Speaker B: No, the Google smart TV that's inside the nebula, it comes with that gives you all the smart TV stuff. Hulu, Fairmont, HBO, YouTube,
Speaker A: blah, blah, blah. And I got a 1.1
Speaker B: reflective white screen, so it should be bouncing that white frame. What is it, every 30 frames
Speaker A: or something? Six by 19
Speaker B: and 60 hertz. So, you know, that's pretty fast for high definition,
Speaker A: ultra high definition. I don't think I've made a setting set for that. I
Speaker B: think I should come with a warning on the box that the 3D things could cause headaches. Because it says if you wear the glasses and you get headaches, not to use them. And just trying to figure out how all the things you got to do to actually see 3D is giving me a headache.

2026-03-15 14:17:58 UTC 9.1s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Yes. That's because the nebula's got two HDMI outputs. One of them's arc.

2026-03-15 14:19:14 UTC 29.1s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Well, that's it. And that's why it always says even though the blue light's on because you clicked on it, it still says off under the 3D title. Well, that makes sense. Well, I don't know how else you could watch 3D. Then why is it even in the menu if it. If you can't see it on your screen? Huh? It won't let you turn that on.

You probably didn't put any of those on my nas. But anyway, I've seen the thumbnails, and we did look to see what the nas look like, but I've never used it to watch a movie. It's a crying shame.

Speaker A: I don't think so, but I
Speaker B: did spend big money for that player. It's a Panasonic top of the line. I'll go look at the front of
Speaker A: it, but I think you hit on it already. The simple fact that the I can't get it to say on under 3D mode, even though the blue, blue light at the outside of the box turns on when you turn it on. So I'm not getting the signal. I don't see why it wouldn't coming from the inside of the nebula. When you pick a 3D movie to watch going through the nebula, you'd think that would be all that was necessary.
Speaker B: I'll go look at the Blu Ray player.

2026-03-15 14:23:35 UTC 73.1s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Yeah. And you explain the sync signal, which is a pure white screen. What? Every. Every 30 or so frames? You don't ever see it because it's too fast, but that's what's telling it. Okay, well, that makes sense then. I have not figured out how to send the signal to the Marantz. That's coming from our Apple Smart TV box. It's plugged into the Marantz. Yeah. So I don't know how to send it down there so I can get the Marantz theater sound and then back to the Nebula to project. Huh. I've been real good at hooking up stereo stuff. A million wires. But this. This Marantz receiver, if you seen the back of it, you wouldn't even believe it. The re the reason why they made the box as big as it is the cabinet is because of the amount of inputs and outputs that are on the back. Huh.

Yeah. Yeah, I don't. Well, anyway, I haven't figured out maybe. Maybe I have to plug that Apple TV box directly into the back of the nebula to get it to project. I just have. I just. Maybe I have to go out the monitor. It has monitor one and monitor two. One of them's arc, which just means when you turn on your Marantz or whatever, it tells the TV to turn on them. Guessing, but. Anyway, I haven't figured out how to get it from the Marantz to the projector and then from the projector, the sound, back to the Marantz. I went and bought that audio cable, that optical AC in my optical cable just to get the sound from the nebula to go to the Morant so that at least I could listen in the theater sound. And it's only 2.2 or something like that anyway, so I don't get all the Atmos stuff that way. But it's nice to have the front speakers and the. And the center channel, you know, So I don't know how to make the Marantz do that coming and going thing at the same time.

2026-03-15 14:33:37 UTC 15.2s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Okay, so I only got a one way directional cable. Yeah. So I have to run two HDMI cables, I'm assuming. Otherwise I don't get the sound.

2026-03-15 14:34:28 UTC 28.9s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

So it's got two. Two HDMI monitors. One of them is an arc monitor. I tried something new this morning just going out the gaming. But that's a one way directional optical cable of HDMI so that you can get the sound on that HDMI cable. It only lets signals go one direction.

2026-03-15 14:35:23 UTC 22.7s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Yeah. It has eight inputs. One of them is dvd. And then there's. You got antenna cable, hdmi. And these are all ends. Game and phonograph, CD player, you know, it has all those six or seven of them.

Yeah, that's how it is now. Then when I want to watch a cd, it just automatically switches it. Somehow when I turn on the CD player, I don't have to change anything on the marantz, it's just playing the cd.

2026-03-15 14:37:10 UTC 51.6s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Speaker A: I think you're missing something, Jay. It's
Speaker B: probably me, though. So it. It's one way out of the Nebula. That cable I paid the big money for back to the Marantz. I figured since it was hdmi, it has the audio optical cable in it. I figured it did the movie part 2 also. I should say. Maybe it don't.

2026-03-15 14:39:00 UTC 63.4s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Speaker A: Yeah, that's me. Yeah, I never had any problems just dealing with sound. But this whole HDMI optical cable and a normal optical cable, because I had one of those over at the last place to go to that theater that was one of those semi square with a round tip on it. And it was just a optical tube, so to speak, solid piece of plastic. The HDMI cable, optical audio, that, that's all that cable moves back and
Speaker B: forth is sound. Yeah, that is not what I have.

2026-03-15 14:40:28 UTC 107.6s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Speaker A: Okay, well, you can go look at the Nebula X1. Nebula. And. And you can see that the back panel, it looks like a 3.5 stereo jack where it says optical audio. It's not one of those little square fold away lids like the one that you're just was talking about that I had on my last stereo from the
Speaker B: tv. Maybe after church
Speaker A: if you get a while there. I know you explained it perfectly, but I'm still a little bit confused. I might have to switch that cable so it's facing the other direction.
Speaker B: Yeah, everything is plugged into the Marant inputs on the Marant. Okay,
Speaker A: well that's. That's a different story because. Well, you. Are you thinking that the DVD player has more than one HDMI output?

2026-03-15 14:43:14 UTC 86.4s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Yeah, it goes down through the floor, along the ground under the house and then back up through the floor. But right now I just have it strung around the outside edge of the room so I can. I can change the direction of that one. That one only goes one direction. One side says projector and all that stuff. The other side says the receiver. So I have that correct because now I can play the Nebula to the Marantz and get sound through the theater. There's only one output on the back of the CD player. Okay. And it's plugged into the Marantz and I surely aren't going to unplug and plug in a cable every time I want to watch it through the theater through the Nebula. That's why I bought that switch the other day. So I could just hook up all the wires and then switch between the, you know, inputs. So the nebula has two HDMI inputs. One is ARC and the. So it has HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 ARC.

2026-03-15 14:45:36 UTC 31.0s · 2m Simplex (146.520 MHz)

Okay, I'm getting it now. All right, well, maybe after church. I'll give you mind of. I know you. You understand it because you've dealt with it before and I haven't, so. Especially the 3D end of it. I'll get a hold of you after church, and if you don't feel like it's no big deal, but if you do, we'll play with it.

That'd be nice. So originally I thought that's why I bought the switch, so I didn't have to run out the monitor. There is two monitors. One of them's arc. And so I bought that cable. I didn't want to have to plug in the nebula every time to watch that. So I bought the switch, which, see, and now in order for that optical audio to work in and out of the switch, I have to get another one of those optical audio HDMI cables to go from the back of the Marant to the switch.

This is Newsline, Amateur Radio's first independent on the air News and Bulletin Service. Now reporting from Wadsworth, Ohio, Stephen Kinford, NHWB While most every DX chaser's eyes have been on Bove island in the South Atlantic lately, another D expedition planned for later this month has taken on new importance for activators in the South Pacific. New restrictions will be enforced soon that are expected to limit access there. Here's Graham Kemp VK4BB with an update. The Rebel DX group's plans to operate as Tango 31 Tango Tango Tango this month from Canton island in Central Kiribati could well be the last for amateur radio for a long time, according to a report from organisers on the website DX World Dom 3 Delta 2 USU said the nation's fisheries and environmental officials have put in place a full array of costs affecting visitors. He said that these new permit fees and other requirements will impose a great financial burden on teams. The expeditioners will need to provide accommodation, food and transportation for four government officials who will need to be present on any future visits to Canton. He said that in simple terms future Canton island the expeditions will cost about US$200,000, which makes Tango 31 prohibited. The obstacles are not unlike some of the restrictions the same group of operators face for its hoped for trip to Conway Reef. 3 Delta 2 I believe Charlie tips Rebel DX's 2024 operation there in May of 2024 as 3 Delta 2 Charlie Charlie Charlie Fiji's Ministry of Fisheries has begun moving forward declaring it a restricted access zone. The group announced in January that with those plans in mind, the hands are accelerating their plans for an activation there. Meanwhile, the D expeditioners are hoping to get to Canton island and be on the air sometime around March 25th. This is Graham Kemp BK4BB symbols of national pride and national identity are not being permitted at this year's World Radio Sport Team Championship. M7TLV brings us up to date. Spectators and participants can expect to see plenty of things at the World Radio Sports Team Championship event in the UK this coming July, there will be antennas, rigs, cables, microphones and.

Speaker A: N6iwh ko6bty.n6iwh ko6bty. You out there, pete? Yeah.
Speaker B: That's kind of funny. I just sat down here, came in, been out running around chasing the world and thought I'd come in and relax, have myself a little zero carb aw, roof here. And then, hey, good ham radio cuso shows up
Speaker A: like a double feature.
Speaker B: So what's up? Nice day here.
Speaker A: Yes. I just sitting in the car, went and got some warm soda and, yeah, I saw a couple people I haven't seen in a while, so that was nice. And it's windier over here than. I don't know, it's been in a while. A lot of tree pollen on the ground. So I took my allergy pill last night and been using the nasal spray, so I'm trying to get ahead of that. How's the wind over that way?
Speaker B: Not too bad, you know, nothing to write home about. But, hey, I've seen the winds out here in Chico coming through like a tornado. I mean, trees just bending down like you wouldn't believe. Yeah, it's.
Speaker A: I say it's that this time of year, but there goes a plane to the airport. But anyway, overall, it's a nice day. There's very little cloud. It's not sticking around. It looks more like smoke than clouds. And I think it's gonna be in the 70s. I don't have my phone or my smartwatch, which I couldn't tell you that. But, yeah, other than that. Just gonna do some tours around the house, tinker with a few things and call it a Sunday. Not yet. Anyway, so I got a lot of stuff to do. W E6A X N
Speaker B: I always listen to this swap net on 40 meters, 7.24. You know, guys are always loud. I guess they're running amplifiers. But I learned things, you know, they talk about rigs and stuff they have for sale. Pretty amazing.
Speaker A: Yeah, I'm. This summer, I think I'm gonna hit up a couple estate sales or something. Those are usually obviously more expensive because they sell their word estate in there and want to make as much money as they can off the garbage that the loved one left behind. But might head up for some ham gear that way as well. And obviously, I end. We have the understanding of that radio as well. It's got to get up there and do that. But then I got to run an antenna and all that, so I want to try to get ahead of that as well.
Speaker B: The rig I was talking about is Zagu x I e. G u Zygu Zegu 21 people love. I don't know. Okay. They're the smaller radio. They don't get uhf, vhf, but hot on the receive SDR based. And that thing brings them in, you know. And there's a forum I belong to these forums. They're always talking about antennas and what to do, but apparently 20 watts is plenty when you're trying to work the DX, you know.
Speaker A: Yeah, it sounds like an overall good radio for sure for UHF, VHF. I've been really pleased with this Gycky 8900R. Yeah, I don't look at it too often because I just had to crate my neck all the way to the back pretty much. There's not much, many places flat surfaces in this car to mount things. Everything's swooping angles and pumps and everything. Somebody, I was talking to somebody and they're like, well, why don't you just mount it to your dash? I'm like, I don't want it on my dash. Hey, you know what?
Speaker B: I always get out the drill. Years ago, halfway decent to use the car and everybody go, oh man, you're gonna put holes in it. That's gonna really reduce the resale value. There you go, two meters.
Speaker A: I only take advice from the people I value and people I think I can learn from. There's definitely some people out there that they didn't like to talk to hear themselves talk and waste the air that other people could be using. Beneficial comments and stuff. But other than that, I enjoy the hobby and I'm not gonna. I might even renew my license when it comes up in the next, probably another six years. It's got to be six years because I haven't. I think I just hit three.
Speaker B: Oh, geez. Yeah, I gotta renew also the GMRS ticket. I know a couple of guys out there, but, you know, they always encourage you to not get on, go away because it's for emergencies only. I mean, they all do it.
Speaker A: Yeah, that's. I haven't run across it too much, but that's definitely a thing out there. And I don't know, I mean, if they don't want people on it, they should make it private if they do. I mean, I understand that. I'm. I'm very grateful for those people that do operate the repeaters and stuff with whatever band it works on because I hear they're quite expensive and I know the wonderful work that they can do as far as reaching far and wide. But I don't know, I mean, I know that one time that it ever happened with me and you. I was on i5, couldn't hit the 085 machine, so I was on Carla 36. It wasn't even on Lynx or anything. And they were like, ah, keep it quiet, get out. I was like, whatever.
Speaker B: You know, the GMRS guys don't like AMP. In fact they're guru is some guy on YouTube called not a Rubicon and he calls them crusty old hams or crabby hams or something like that. But they talk about hams. Talked down to them. You're stupid, you know, you didn't learn anything. And I have a license. I'm so special. I'm a ham.
Speaker A: I'm familiar with the channel. It's just an outward projection of his, his negative mindset. That's what that is. If, I mean, I always say if I can pass the test with all the anxiety I had, Paul could tell you about that one W16 8. He's like, you need to go outside for a few minutes and calm down and come back in. I was like, yeah, I got you. I just have really bad piss anxiety. But yeah, I don't know. I mean there's going to be rivalries between everything. I mean they like the fact they don't have to pass a test. They can just hand over a check worth $35 and like the Wild West. I think that's, that's probably about as close to what CB is or was as far as like them being able to do it easy and set up a high power station that drowns out other people. But anyway, Pete, I am going to go ahead and get in the car. I. Or get in the house. Out of the car anyway. N6iwhko6bgy
Speaker B: all right. Yeah, I'm busy doing things and cleaning up. I don't know what's wrong with me. N6 IWA.

Speaker A: N7t ending.
Speaker B: Hey ralph. Nr70.
Speaker A: Hey John. Heading back from up north?
Speaker B: Yeah, James and I are rolling in from. What do you call it?
Speaker A: Zion.
Speaker B: We left there Friday and headed back in now.
Speaker A: Yeah, I think you and I chatted when you're on your way up. That's cool. Cool, cool. You guys go camping or stay in a hotel or something? Camping.
Speaker B: It was really beautiful.
Speaker A: It was amazing.
Speaker B: Great camping weather. Absolutely fantastic. Couldn't ask for better. So yeah, we're camping and you know, campfire and the whole thing. We had about.
Speaker A: Oh, it's about probably 20, probably 18 guys.
Speaker B: Probably
Speaker A: 30.
Speaker B: 30ish boys probably. I don't know. There was about 48 people there in our group site. It was pretty, pretty well utilized.
Speaker A: Yikes. Yeah, sounds like it sounds good. And I. Great weekend toys. It's a little windy down here now. Wind picked up a couple hours ago. But I just got an alert on my phone for high extreme heat warnings through the rest of next week. So I looked at the weather forecast if I need to. I probably need to get my swamp cooler all ready to go. I got it all winterized. All I really have to do is open up the upduct and put some light machine oil into the motor like I usually do and fire it up. Yeah, I don't know what the current
Speaker B: forecast is, but as of like last Thursday or Friday, I was looking. I think this coming Thursday or Friday it's supposed to get up to 97 or something.
Speaker A: Wow. Forgot about spring, right? In the summer. Yeah. I haven't looked through weather in a while but it's sure been an interesting season. The ups and downs but very good. Yeah, I'm heading to visit my mom for a little bit and I got to go to the world market thing. Cheryl's finishing up a show there. She's been there all weekend selling her wares. So I think the show though till like 4 o' clock and she's probably gonna let me there around 5:30 to help her pack up.
Speaker B: Oh, okay. Is she doing any better after her episode?
Speaker A: Well, I. I had to move her into a home. She really upset at me about that. But you know, every medical professional has said there's she's done she alone anymore. You know, fall risk and weak and everything else. I moved her to a facility called Legacy House. Actually, it's really nothing. So I'm heading over there now to visit with her for a little bit, do a couple of things.
Speaker B: Oh, okay. You said it's called something Health.
Speaker A: Legacy House. Legacy House. There's two in town. There's one on our side of town which I didn't put her in. A couple of reasons. Not as nice as what the other one I put her in and they didn't have any. All they had was studio apartments and there was long waiting list or anything bigger and that wouldn't work. I put her up at the Legacy House over by Southern Hills hospital. So it's plus and plus maybe 25, 30 minute driving in. 215. About half the amount of time it would take to get to where she was. Well, not quite, but anyways, it's, it's nice, but it's a matter of, you know, she's not, she's not warming up to it very well. But it will,
Speaker B: You know, maybe. Maybe she'll make some friends or something. Yeah. Because I think the one by us is that the one on Durango and like Durango and Grandma pseudo around that area.
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly. And when I went there to look at that one, the manager there actually recommended the one I ended up putting her in because she said, look the one over there and they have more availability. And she goes, it's a little bigger and they have more activity. Which is kind of nice for her to do that. But it's all the same company. Right. So anyways, I mean it's a great place, really nice folks. Food's fantastic, got all the facilities they need. And now she needs to go anywhere. She just. They'll take her wherever she wants to go. Monday through Friday, doesn't matter. They have, you know, shuttles and stuff. They go to various venues and things like that. The other day they went to Traders Joe's and they went to one of the casinos also. But yeah, anyways, so we're dealing with that. I had, I had a moving company come and move a bunch of her stuff from her house into her new place. Obviously not all of it, but it was, I want, I wanted her to when she first got there to look around and see familiar things. You must be getting out of the range of the repeater you're on. So anyways, I'll. I'll say 73. I'll be on the road for a little bit if we get back into coverage. M17NR7G.
Speaker B: I'm losing coverage power. 7G calculator. 73.
